The Rocket grunt smirked his ugly smirk. Taking a deep breath he seemed to regain all composure after that last blunder of an attack. "Got yah scared in your boots ey kid?" he continued to egg on Finnian, completely misreading the boy's silence. The grunt felt so smug in his ignorance. No doubt that egg would be his in a matter of a few moments. He just needed to finish beating down the worm. "Get on with it Rattata. Quick attack! I'm tired of waiting for this to wrap up," he ordered with a wave of his hand. The rat pawed the ground, testing the soreness of her joints after the tumble. Afterward she shook her tail and zoomed off like a blur of purple. Cara could barely follow the splash of foot falls before she was being pushed to the side by the rodent's attack. There was a short blip of surprise from the wurmple before she was on her side with the rattata's tail whisking by. Cara pushed herself back upright and gave chase. Not wanting to be taken from behind by some fluke of more mud the Rattata slowed and braced for the blow, deliberately taking it where she knew she could handle it. It still stung, the bulk of the bug type no joke. "Wha-you're supposed to dodge you bucktoothed idiot." The Team Rocket crony put a hand to his forehead in disbelief. How in the world did he end up with such a lame pokémon on this mission. Battle Weather: Rain Rocket's Rattata | LV 6 | Guts HP: 33% (7/21) Status: Normal Used Quick Attack! VS

Nnnnnnno, Finnian replied slowly, not sure why he was bothering. Did this guy really think he was that scary? Sure, he'd surprised Finnian at first, and he really didn't like the way he thought, but he wasn't scary. Maybe it was because his Pokemon was so adorable. Yeah, that was probably it. At least the poor Rattata was trying so hard despite the lack of appreciation from its trainer.
In the meantime, Finnian could see that poor Cara was having a tough time. It didn't seem like she was going to be able to bring down the Rattata before it would take her out instead. He didn't want any of his Pokemon to faint because he pushed them too hard, so Finnian made the decision to swap out once more. He disliked how much he'd had to do that, but this Rattata was tough. Still, he knew that Talia could finish it off no problem! She'd been raring to ever since they got interrupted anyway.
As he recalled the Wurmple, she dashed forward without even having to be told. Immediately, she spewed water from her mouth, hoping to not only get the Rattata but also douse the trainer if she could. Maybe that'd make him cool off!
Talia was sent out and used Water Gun!
Squirtle Name: Talia Gender: Female Level: 7 OT: Finneon Abbot Attacks: Tackle, Tail Whip, Water Gun Ability: Torrent Nature/Personality: Talia is just as energetic and enthusiastic as her trainer. She strives to have as much fun as possible, even in the thick of battle. She's incredibly playful, and loves playing jokes on others. If she accidentally makes someone frightened or sad with one of her jokes, she does whatever she can to make them feel better again. Mostly, she just wants everyone around her to be happy.

The Rocket huffed, taking a deep breath and turning his eyes back onto the battle. It was no matter. One hit didn't matter. Rattata was still able to run move without too much trouble and this kid's pokémon were on their last legs; at least two of them were. That was good enough to keep up his confidence. "Finish it off with a simple tackle," he ordered almost tiredly to his determined rat pokémon. However, when he saw Finnian reaching for a pokéball the feeling quickly became overconfidence. "Hahahaha, sending out another baby to try and fight me off?" he mocked, putting his hands on his hips as if the recall meant his victory was assured. Rattata was already moving in when the wurmple disappeared. Talia came in hot, shooting a spurt of water to force the rodent to alter her course or be sent sliding through the muck. With an instinctual leap she barely dodged the stream then made another lunge to tackle into the squirtle. Talia half turned to catch the blow mostly on her shell. "Heh, I see you've gut quite the spunky turtle there..." the Rocket raised a hand to his chin and stared at Talia hungrily. "But this is going to end just like the last two matches kid. Quick attack!" Rattata responded right away, taking but a second to collect herself and push her body close to its limit by this point. The purple rat bashed against Talia's shell a second time, but this time wasn't able to recover as neatly. This allowed Talia the perfect opportunity. Spinning on the spot, cheeks welling with water, the squirtle unleashed a burst of water right in Rattata's face. The attack was more than she could handle. Washed away, rattata remained unconscious on her side. The rocket member growled under his breath as he recalled the rodent. Beads of sweat grew on his temples. Gritting his teeth the man held another ball in his hands. "I'm not letting you off that easy kid. You're going to hand over that egg."Battle Weather: Rain Rocket's Rattata | LV 6 | Guts HP: 0% (0/21)Status: Fainted Used Tackle! Used Quick Attack! VS
Finnian's Talia | LV 7 | Torrent HP: 68% (17/25) Status: Normal Switched with Cara! Used Water Gun! KO!
Talia grew to LV 9! Aislyn grew to LV 4! Cara grew to LV 7! What's this?! She's trying to evolve! (Silcoon) Will Finnian allow it? Rocket Grunt is sending out Zubat (LV 4)! Will Finnian change pokémon?

If there was one thing Finnian had learned by this point, it was how to deal with bullies. Generally, remaining quiet and trying not to say or do anything to provoke them was the best option one could go with. So, he remained silent in the face of the taunting and instead called Talia back. She'd taken some good hits there, and he wanted someone fresh and fully prepared to take on whatever the man might have to offer next.
"I said no," he finally replied firmly, sending out his strange little gardener Pikachu. Florus would be good for this, he thought, since the Pikachu was fresh and none of the rest of his Pokemon were. If worst came to worst, he was prepared to send Talia back in again... but he hoped he wouldn't have to. Florus had proven himself in all the fights he'd been in thus far, despite not being very interested in battling to begin with.
The Pikachu took stock of the situation and immediately prepared to send a bolt of electricity at the first Pokemon he saw. That seemed like it would be the least damaging to the environment, and was generally the most effective way to take down any of his opponents.
Florus was sent out and will use Thunderbolt!

Finnian's stubborn resistance was really getting on the grunts last nerve as this mission was suppose to be far more simple than it had turned out to be. He had tried everything he could think of and even forcing Finnian to switch one of his Pokemon was not enough to overcome his resistance. To make matters worse for the grunt this was his last Pokemon and Zubat had a type disadvantage against Finnian's Pikachu. As bad as things looked now the grunt was not going to stop trying as he looked at his Zubat and ordered it to attack Florus hoping it could somehow overcome the electric types advantage. As soon as Florus made his move however it became clear that any hope of it making an attack were well and truly gone. Florus built up a small amount of electricity in his cheeks before unleashing it on the bat causing catastrophic damage leaving the bad knocked out and the grunt knew his mission had ended in failure. " Headquarters is going to have my hide for this. I cannot believe I lost to a wimp like yourself, you have not seen the last of me." He said as he recalled his Zubat. He had no way of stealing FInnian's egg now but he could still make a break for it and try to plot out his revenge for another day. For now at least Finnian had nothing else to worry about as the road leading to Professor Elm's lab was not clear. Finnian could only blink in surprise when the Zubat appeared to not stand a chance against Florus. Wow, he'd known his Pikachu was strong but he hadn't realized how strong. For once he'd made the right choice of Pokemon. Maybe he was finally learning something! Though he'd been disparaged through the entire battle, he'd actually done quite well after he'd finally brought down the Rattata. It had been a strong little mouse, that was certain.
"Okay then," he said with a slight shrug, not so certain the man could back up his words. He certainly had shown only false bravado in their current encounter. "Good luck with your boss!"
"Don't wish him luck," Talia groaned, putting her paws to her face. Man, her trainer really didn't get it sometimes. "Let's just get this egg where it needs to go." Preferably before someone else tried to intercept them. Finnian nodded in agreement, moving forward once more, retracing his steps back to the lab he had so recently left.
Allow Cara to evolve and replace Growl with Double Kick!

As Finnian retraced his steps back to Elm's Lab, Professor Elm himself burst through the door and ushered him inside quite quickly. "Quick, quick, please come in and take a seat!" he said warmly but also with a tone of concern in his voice. "I just got an email from Mr Pokemon explaining everything. I was worried for you given there were rumours of a shady character prowling around my lab recently. I'm so glad you made it back!"Professor Elm looked down warmly at Talia and smiled. "Oh my, look how she's grown and oh, looks like you've made some more friends along the way! Let's see what we have here." The Pokemon professor picked up the egg that Finnian had brought with him and nodded his head knowingly. The egg was a creamy white colour with patches of orange. It did not have a hard shell but was soft to the touch. Nonetheless, the unborn Pokemon was safely developing inside. "Yes, yes, unmistakable. Extraordinary! That is a Goldeen egg!" Before Finnian could say anything, a familiar old face popped up on Elm's computer screen. Elm clicked on the icon to accept the video call from none other than Mr Pokemon himself. "Well done young man! I'm so happy that you made it safely back to the lab. I hope no one gave you any trouble along the way.""Guess what?" Elm said. "Looks like we have a Goldeen egg on our hands!""Oh my," replied Mr. Pokemon. "I can't thank you enough young man for all you have done. I tell you what... you are a Pokemon breeder aren't you? Sounds like you are the perfect person to look after this egg. It is not something I'll be able to do in my old age. I have full confidence it will be under great care!"Congratulations, a Goldeen egg was obtained! ~Quest Complete!
