Description:
While walking through the tunnels of Union Cave you hear someone fast approaching. Huffing at the end of their breath an excavator comes into view and instantly locks eyes with you. He waves and shouts:
Foreman Blake"You there! You're a trainer right? We need help, and fast!"
"Some riff raff entered our dig site despite the warnings and has caused a tunnel to collapse. A bunch of my workers are trapped behind it. *pant pant* We're trying to clear it away but *pant* after the collapse the rapid excavation is agitating the wild pokémon in the area and we can't fight them off and dig at the same time. We need your help, please! You have to fend off any wild pokémon so our workers can dig out those trapped in the tunnel."
When undertaking this quest please put the suffix (Cave In) to your thread title.
Walkthrough:
The foreman leads you back through Union Cave into a pathway marked with 'Construction Site - No Unauthorized Access' and various other warning signs. After a short descent you enter a large pocket chamber where a couple other workers are gathered around with their pokémon by a large wall of fresh rubble. Despite being pretty well lit the ceiling is littered with small channels and there are other nooks and fissures in the walls where wild pokémon could crawl, or fly, out of.
Upon seeing you with the foreman their glum expressions brighten. With a quick word reminding you of your task all the workers begin commanding their pokémon to smash the boulders and clear a path. In almost no time at all a swarm of pokémon appear, agitated by all the noise and tremors. You have to fight your way through a Horde Encounter (LV 6 - 7) to defend the workers, and once successful in turning away the annoyed wildlife one of the workers offers the use of a Repel to prevent any more small swarms like that. Whether you accept or not, there are more wild pokémon that you will have to face before the rubble is cleared away enough that it's safe to pass through.
On the other side the equipment is damaged so there is no light other than what the three workers accompanying you have as headlamps. It's a short walk through the tunnel until you reach a large cave chamber where you find the other diggers, injured and in need of help, as well as one other man who immediately goes on the offense.

Flint had disguised himself as an engineer pretending to do lighting inspections but is really a radical environmentalist. He had come here in a group with the intention of sabotaging equipment and halting the progress of the dig, but one of their charges went off prematurely and he ended up stuck on the wrong end of the collapse. Now defeated, the foreman and healthy workers subdue the man and get to work extraditing their injured coworkers.
The excavation team thanks you heartily for lending a hand in the operation.
