What was it that drew such vitriol from the poochyena? Why it was a hungry, hungry wurmple inching its way towards the nest. Poocheyna had brought some scavenged scraps from a nearby trashcan and the wurmple, who had previously been minding its own wormy business in the rafters, crept down the wall to investigate. Bold in its curiosity and hunger, is didn't heed the warning growls from the hungry, protective poochyena. "Go away!" it snarled at the worm. It didn't want to bite it lest it get a mouth full of poison barbs and struggle even more in this place to find food. Ever since that new group of pooches invaded its pack's territory and drove them out, the poochyena found itself struggling to get by. One by one, it lost its packmates to trainers or to the elements. When they foolishly tread through a river during a storm, desperate to escape a swarm of angry mankeys, the first of their few was swept away, nothing to be done. As they ventured through caves to seek shelter, trainers with rock types chased them around, and the flash of familiar red light told them that yet another of their numbers was lost. Fewer and fewer, their numbers dwindled until it alone remained. Struggling. Frightened. It would have been so easy to give up. But then it crept into this humanmade shelter for the afternoon to rest and found it. The egg. Poocheyna was lonely. So lonely. The egg wasn't Pack, but maybe...maybe it could be? Maybe the pokemon inside would hunt with it one day? Or at least stave off the isolation. So it guarded the egg, leaving only to eat. And it refused to be chased away from its nest by a wurmple. "I SAID GO AWAY!"
A Wurmple is bothering Poocheyna!
Creeping towards Poochyena nest. Wurmple is LV 3. What will Raiden do? Shiny? 3KEXKpxX1-42Rare? 1-6 Uncommon? 1-3 Common 1-4 level? 2-8 1-42·1-6·1-3·1-4·2-8

All the green was colors of the flowers were beautiful. To someone who grew up in that forsaken region all their life, one could even hazard to call it a paradise. Aspen hadn't been in this region for long, having arrived and deciding to do something he'd never had the chance of as a child. A Pokemon journey. Wasn't that just amazing? It would be like a fresh slate, a start over. Something that he had desperately needed for his own sake, where no one would know his identity, no one would know the things that he had done or that he was running from. Though when he had seen his options for starters, his perfectly crafted disguise had nearly shattered in two. He ended up going with the Squirtle for ironies sake.[break][break] Ryver was like a cruel joke from some higher being. He was kind and friendly, his temperament matched Aspen's own. He even seemed to have a bit of a protective streak going on. Aspen truly didn't deserve him. It was like looking into the past, a past that could have been. Right now he was carrying him in his arms like a child or some oversized stuff animal. He didn't like leaving him in the Pokeball. It seemed cruel and he was done trying to be cruel. Realistically he knew he couldn't have all his Pokemon just follow him around all the time, though. He just thought being kept in a tiny little ball seemed like a cage.[break][break] He was going to have to head further down this route to progress into the region. Which he knew meant he'd also have to fight, Ryver was still a tiny little guy. What he didn't expect to find was... A person! Well, it made sense for there to be people on the route, he wanted to make it perfectly clear he didn't think the route would be empty. What he meant was that he hadn't expected there to be another person peering into what seemed to be someone's property![break][break] He should walk away, mind his own business. It didn't really matter to him whether someone was about to get ribbed. But something about this situation drew him in... Or perhaps it was something about the man himself. So, despite the saying 'curiosity killed the cat', Aspen found himself slinking forward, head tilted to one side, his footsteps perfectly silent as he crept up on the unwary gentleman. Was he tempting fate? Absolutely. He didn't know this guy, he could be some sort of criminal. It sure looked like it at least. Of course, that was like calling the kettle black.[break][break] Closer inspection revealed that he wasn't looking to rob the people, but actually watching a Poochyenna guarding an... egg? Against... ah, that Wurmple on the wall. Well, that was a relief at least. Or... Actually he didn't know if that was truly any better. If Raiden didn't detect him, Aspen was going to creep up right behind him, just slightly off to one side. He leaned forward, doing his best not to grin mischievously at what he thought was going to be a funny situation. "Most thieves break into the house from a window, not out in the open," he whispered, just loud enough for him to hear. In the city of fools, I was careful and cool but they tore me apart like a hurricane.
WC 400 for pancham egg, blaire for Aspen NOTES - raiden may have been scared out of his mind, pushes Aspen to deal with the wurmple. Raiden really wasn't sure what he was supposed to expect from all of this, he had just been trying to go down a route and try to start his life over. Already he had made a promise to the pokemon that now rested inside a ball at his side. He would have to make sure to keep that promise, at least for now. He didn't think that such a pokemon deserved to be with someone like him, not someone who would be constantly battling it deserved a happy life with someone who was kind and outgoing. Raiden wasn't sure he was the right person, but he wouldn't give it over without knowing that his promise would be kept.
As the man looked at what was going on inside the shed it suddenly made sense. The poochyena was trying to protect the egg that it had been making a nest for. It was a wurmple that slowly started to come down the side and was bothering. They would most likely have to deal with it before he could go forward and help the pokemon and the egg. He had just been about to look for Charmander when a voice sounds just at his ear, it actually causes the rather large man to jump at least a few inches off the ground. "Holy S8$%" the words come out before he can even stop himself.
Who the heck was this guy, and why did he just accuse him of stealing did it look like he was stealing? "I didn't take anything. " he quickly replies forgetting he had just jumped like a frightened child. "I heard the barks of the poochyena and I was investigating. " he said before a brilliant idea came since his eyes landed on the Squirtle in his arms. So he was a trainer, this would work perfectly. "You're a trainer right? Why don't you deal with the wurmple and I'll go check on the egg and poochyena." it wasn't like he gave the guy any choice -
Not when he was already immediately on the move to head to the dark type and the egg. Making sure to stay crouched and not startle the pokemon. "Hey, we are here to help, we'll make sure you're okay." he tried soft tones making sure to stay as close to its level as possible, he didn't want the pokemon to think he was the problem. He held a hand out gently hoping the pokemon would at least come over and sniff him, and know he wasn't going to cause trouble. At least until he earned the poochyena's trust he wasn't getting any closer to the egg. Though he was sure it would need proper care if it had been in here by itself.
"Me and Charmander can help." he said as the fire lizard seemed to come over at the call of his name. He could warm up the egg if it had gotten cold without overheating after all. Raiden didn't have time to look back to the other person, just hoping that he had taken his advise and battled the pokemon while he dealt with this.

Oh that was worth the risk. It was perfect. He even let out an actual laugh and held up one hand in mock surrender, just in case he was angry with him. Thankfully, nothing bad came of it. So he got away with his bit of mischief. He only lowered his arm when he was sure that he wouldn't have to defend himself. He didn't seem actually angry with him, after all. So instead he wrapped it back around his Squirtle.[break][break] The excuse was honestly valid. It was pretty obvious that he wasn't actually stealing, after all, he had noticed the Pokemon here too. But it was amusing that he felt the need to defend himself. Of course, Aspen quickly got his comeuppance because the other decided to leave him to deal with the 'aggressor'... He didn't even wait to hear his answer! The audacity! "Wait!" he called out in a hiss. He did not, in fact, wait. Dang. "You know that's what a thief would say, right!" Honestly...[break][break] What if the Wurmple was dangerous? It might lash out at this guy now that he was putting himself in between it and what appeared to be its intended source of food. He didn't truly see the Wurmple eating the egg, but... It might still be startled and attack. But he hadn't really been wanting to battle... Yet. But he was left with no choice unless he just left. Ryver seemed to sense his anxiety because he wiggled out of his arms. He seemed ready to do what he had to.[break][break] Letting out a sigh, Aspen moved forward to approach the Wurmple. Carefully. He'd try to convince it before fighting it. He wouldn't just downright attack it! Everyone knew Pokemon were smart enough to understand. "Excuse me, could you please leave my friends here alone? It seems like you're scaring the poor Poochyenna."[attr="class","boxo-notes"]what a suspicious thief you are [newclass=".skep-holder"]width:500px;margin:0 auto;[/newclass] [newclass=".skep-shape"]-webkit-clip-path:polygon(100% 0,100% 58%,38% 100%,0 79%,0 0);clip-path:polygon(100% 0,100% 58%,38% 100%,0 79%,0 0);background:#cbce65;height:280px;width:220px;position: absolute;[/newclass] [newclass=".skep-tiny"]-webkit-clip-path:polygon(0 0,0% 100%,100% 100%);clip-path:polygon(0 0,0% 100%,100% 100%);width:10px;height:6px;position:absolute;background:#4c3736;margin-left:220px;[/newclass] [newclass=".skep-tag"]-webkit-clip-path:polygon(21% 0,100% 0,100% 100%,0 100%);clip-path:polygon(21% 0,100% 0,100% 100%,0 100%);width:180px;height:30px;position:absolute; margin-top: 226px;margin-left:320px;background:#cbce65;[/newclass] [newclass=".skep-tag a"]color:#fff!important;[/newclass] [newclass=".skep-img img"]margin-top: 5px;margin-left:50px;[/newclass] [newclass=".skep-content"]padding:90px 50px 30px 50px;font-size:10px;line-height:14px;font-family:roboto;line-height:16px;background:#fefefe;margin-top:-60px;border-bottom:solid 1px #eee;border-right:solid 1px #eee;border-left:solid 1px #eee;color:#555;text-align:justify;[/newclass] [newclass=".skep-shape-cont"]position:absolute;color:#fefefe; margin-top: 60px;margin-left:20px;[/newclass] [newclass=".skep-content b"]color:#cbce65;font-size:11px; [/newclass] [newclass=".lyr1"]font-family:arial black;font-size:15px;letter-spacing:-1px;text-transform:uppercase;[/newclass] [newclass=".lyr2"]font-family:arial black;font-size:40px;margin-top:-20px;letter-spacing:-5px;color:#f5f5f5;[/newclass] [newclass=".lyr3"]font-family:arial black;font-size:90px;opacity:0.3;position:absolute;margin-top:-90px;margin-left:140px;letter-spacing:-5px;[/newclass] [newclass=".lyr4"]font-family:arial;font-size:10px;text-transform:uppercase;letter-spacing:3px;margin-top:-5px;margin-left:20px;[/newclass] [newclass=".skep-tago"]color:#fff;margin-left:50px;margin-top:10px;font-size:8px;text-transform:uppercase;font-family:arial;[/newclass] [newclass=".skep-tago a"]color:#fff;font-size:8px;text-transform:uppercase;font-family:arial;[/newclass] [newclass=".lyr5"]font-family:arial black;font-size:70px;margin-top:-20px;opacity:0.3;position:absolute;margin-top:-30px;margin-left:-12px;letter-spacing:-5px;[/newclass] [newclass=".lyr6"]font-family:arial black;font-size:25px;letter-spacing:-1px;margin-left:25px;text-transform:uppercase;[/newclass] [newclass=.ray-img img]shape-outside:circle(45%)!important;[/newclass] [newclass=".boxo-notes"]font-family:arial narrow; background:#cbce65; color:#777; text-align:center; text-transform:uppercase; height:60px; line-height:60px; font-size:8px; color:#fff; border:solid 1px #ddd; [/newclass]

Poochyena whipped its head around as both trainers fully entered the shed, talking between each other. The pup growled low, feeling boxed in and terribly alarmed. TWO HUMANS and that wurmple had it in essence surrounded. And it was all alone guarding an egg. Raiden was wise to keep some distance or he might have gotten bit. No, he probably would have gotten bit. Though it seemed the pooch was more focused on protecting the egg than trying to engage in any sort of confrontation. Maybe this pokemon would react well to an offer of food? Then again, there was that pesky wurmple, inching ever closer, ignoring the humans entirely, wiggling its wormy self right towards the nest. The pup saw the continued movement and yipped, snarling at the worm until it paused. Then, a beat later, it inched closer and closer. (The pooch didn't want to bite that toxic worm!) No progress was going to be made with that nosy wurmple in the shed. The boys would probably realize that the bug needed battled or caught before the poochyena would potentially relax even a little. Its presence here in the shed was bothering it deeply and it seemed almost afraid of the worm half its size. (If only they could read its mind, know its concern about getting a mouth full of toxic needles. Being left weak and unable to hunt or scavenge or protect the egg.)
Wurmple keeps bothering Poocheyna!
It doesn't appear to be listening to reason. Wurmple is LV 3. What will Ryver do?

In the city of fools, I was careful and cool but they tore me apart like a hurricane.
WC 375 for pancham egg, blaire for Aspen NOTES - useless this guy, raiden continues to coax poochyena The words that follow from the newcomer was not lost on Raiden as he continued forward. "How would you know what a thief sounds like?" it was pointing the finger back at him but he didn't have time to really argue with him. Not when he saw the situation at hand and tried to help. Raiden was very clear that this pokemon was very likely to bite him if he didn't come up with a way to settle it down first and he had left the wurm to his temporary companion who claimed him to be a thief.
There was so very little that could be done in this situation, the fact that Raiden knew that the poochyena would not trust until the threat was out of the way. So that was why he had motioned the other to take care of the wurmple. Raiden made sure to stay away to be careful not to get too close to the egg. The growling is a clear warning that the pokemon was not going to be anywhere near him. "It's okay, we are here to help." they were or at least they would be if this guy actually did what he was supposed to do. At the very least he was moving toward the pokemon, though it seemed talking wasn't going to help in this situation.
"Just fight it." he said again to the guy, what was he a pacifist? Would Raiden have to handle this situation before he could help? "At least throw a ball at it." if he didn't want to fight that was an option right? Raiden looked back to the poochyena understanding how uncomfortable the poor dog was about the entire ordeal. Digging through his bag he pulled out a small bowl that he used for his pokemon and some food. He knew that the dog probably wouldn't eat until it was sure everything was okay, but he could at least show he wasn't a part of the problem.
"We'll get rid of that bug for you, are you hungry? I know it must have been difficult to protect that egg all by yourself." he would try coaxing it again hoping that maybe he would be able to have it see reason.
