I've been getting through a lot of the classics over the past two years. Among my favourites have been the Count of Monte Cristo, Anna Karenina, War and Peace, Les Miserables to name a few.
At the moment I'm reading Persuasion (Jane Austen) on the Kindle and also listening to the audiobook of 11.22.63 by Stephen King. What are some books you've been reading or a favourite you'd recommend? ^^

Well, since you asked, as of late I've found myself completely enthralled with the works of literature written by famous author H.P. Lovecraft. I'm not usually one for horror stories, but much like me, Lovecraft had a strong passion for sea life. My personal favorite of all of his stories is, of course, the most well-known of his works. The Call of Cthulhu. So, if anyone out there is a fan of horror stories and are looking for something outside the realm of standard horror (zombies, vampires, werewolves, etc.) then I highly recommend giving this, or any of Lovecraft's books a read.

The Call of Cthulhu. I was given his collected edition, known as Necronomicon. Haven't read every story yet, but it's all of his best stuff and I agree, he is a very talented writer. At this moment in time, I am reading book 14 of the Kay Scarpetta series, called Predator. I am very much into CSI and Forensic crime scene investigation, and that is the genre that this series fits into. There are many series that are similar, but this one is very enjoyable to me.

Currently I'm reading The Other End of the Leash: Why We Do What We Do Around Dogs by Patricia B. McConnell! It's a really interesting book that teaches about dog behavior by contrasting it with human behaviors, and I've learned so much about both!
I'm also in the middle of Jane Eyre, but I haven't picked it up recently... I was in middle school the last time I read it, and I'm rereading it now so I can also reread Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys which is a really interesting prequel told from the point of view of Bertha Mason.

I mostly read manga more than actual books, but picked up a copy of Dear Evan Hansen for cheap at Target not too long ago and am working my way through that.
There are some other book series I wanna get my hands on to read or re-read, but am waiting until payday or until after the holidays to get them: the Witcher series (which I never read, but enjoyed the games and one or two episodes of the show) and the Ranger's Apprentice (which I read in high school and remember really enjoying at the time)

I've been listening to Wheat Belly Total Health by William Davis, MD; Super Gut by William Davis, MD; Wheat Belly 10-Day Grain Detox by William Davis, MD; Your Brain on Art by Susan Magsamen and Ivy Ross; Why We Sleep by Matthew Walker, PhD; Think Like Sherlock by Peter Hollins; and Taming the Tiger Within by Thich Nhat Hanh. I have a lot of logic, crime, and meditation books waiting on Audible, too.
Removing grains from my diet made me feel better than ever, so I suggest trying the Wheat Belly books to understand the latest nutrition research. The sleep book was also informative. The art one is helpful as well, and it connects to meditation. I'm saving the meditation books until Haruna gets a meditite, so they can study meditation together. I'm also having Haruna reference several of these books as she continues her adventure and raises her pokemon while studying to be a detective.
Although I've been sticking to non-fiction recently, I really do read fiction... I have a preference for mystery novels. I read a lot of web novels, but I'm trying to break that habit.
