The spoon stopped halfway to Aglaia's mouth and she stared horrified at the radio sitting on Nurse Joy's desk. What kind of questions was it that interviewer asked her guest?! How much dirt had she dug up before the interview? Her grandmother had been a guest there once but that had been nice and polite, what was it with this scandal journalism which just wanted to outrage to grasp their listeners? How the trainers were gossiping beside the radio, they clearly lapped it all up and eagerly chatted with each other about it, ranting over bad parents and bullies. Aglaia promised herself she would never sign up for anything like that, even if she couldn't remember any dirty secrets from her own childhood. She was not going to let herself risk an experience like that, she felt so bad for the guest.
The spoon continued shoving breakfast into her mouth as she ate and listened, but it stopped soon after as Aglaia swallowed to be able to let her mouth fall open. Run down farm.. Oddish infestation.. looking for help.. The spoon rattled into the bowl as she dropped it, staring ahead of her wide eyed. She had been there! She could have run into a dangerous taurus and she hadn't known! She had met Adrian! She stared ahead of her for several moments before she managed to pull herself together. "It's not like its making any difference, poor man," she mumbled and picked up her spoon again, and wiped some of the milk off the table guiltily. She thought about her experiences at the farm and how this interview had changed her view on him as she finished her breakfast, but most of all she just felt sorry for him. What a thing to be known for.
Half an hour later Aglaia stepped out into the mist in the Pokemon Centers little backyard, it was secluded and had a few trees and benches, and paths into the city. It was a place for trainers to sit and relax in good weather, and it was a good place for Aglaia to meet the pokemon Lei had asked her train this time. She sat down on a bench and called out the three, and studied them for a moment as they were a weird bunch. There were the big acorn, the floating lightbulb and the tadpole which looked a bit like the bulb except it was flailing on the ground. "Hi, Lei, your trainer has asked me to train you today, I'm Aglaia," she introduced herself. The acorn tilted its head a bit, the lightbulb turned away and the tadpole mumbled something as it looked unimpressed at the others.

A prevalent mist had shrouded Cherrygrove City in a curious mist, covering many surfaces with a cooling dew. Even if people or Pokemon were out in a bit, one might have to squint the eyes to see them, unless they were making loud enough noises to catch attention. As Aglaia was introducing herself to the Pokemon that Lei had asked her to train, the uninterested tadpole Pokemon leaped away to another direction. A lone Diglett was underground digging to avoid the mist, when it realized it may have gone to the wrong direction. It popped its head up to get a bearing of where it was, and then it remembered that it was still misty outside. It let out an exhausted and sad cry as it dug in the wrong direction. This wasn't where the Zigzagoon was hiding! Now, it needed to figure out how far and which direction to dig again!
A (Level 9) Diglett lost its direction, but its confused face look just as the same as its normal face. Mist is in effect. ZP55E18y1-421-42

Aglaia wasn't sure how she'd think the meeting went, the seedot was clearly friendly enough and she was pretty sure it wasn't going to be a problem. The tympole was hard to get a feeling for, whenever she or the Chestnut talked to it, it sounded and looked friendly enough but then what was the meaning of all those stinky eyes it kept sending them all? Aglaia guiltily had to admit that she was glad she wasn't the only one. The tadbulb on the other hand clearly had dismissed her from the start, and refused to have anything to do with her.
The morning was quiet as Aglaia tried to convince herself to start the day, to go out once again in the mist covered city and face challenges and countless of battles, that was the life of a trainer. Suddenly the calm got disrupted as the battle came to her instead, as the ground suddenly rumbled under Agnes and sent her rolling off as the head of a diglett appeared. "Hey! Watch out!" Agnes complained as she rightened herself, "I'm alright, just.. be careful of where you are going," she reassured but sent it a disgruntled stare. "Youngster's nowadays, never thinks about the consequences," she grumbled under her breath.
A great ball flew through the air at the diglett, much to the pokemon's surprise. Aglaia also looked a bit surprised even though she had taken the decision, but she couldn't look herself in the eyes if she let one of the pokemon faint right in front of the Pokemon Center! Agnes looked very small and fragile compared to the ground type and Aglaia's gut was telling her there would only be one outcome if a battle started.

Sad, lost diglett had a hat all of the sudden. A hat in the shape of a tympole. <Sorry!> it said in a timid voice. <I'll just go dig somewhere else—> Then SMACK! A ball dinged it right between the eyes. Too startled to do a thing, it sat there, gobbled up by the ball. The tiniest wobble followed and then, it grew still. The young trainer now had a captured diglett sitting at the bottom of a hole. She'd have to go retrieve it (who knew how deep that burrow went!) but otherwise, her pokemon was safe. The baby tympole was unharmed beyond that initial, accidental brush with the diglett. Perhaps...this would help build trust? Confidence? Who knew exactly what voluntarily catching a pokemon to protect another pokemon would do for her and her team. Life was unpredictable. Just like the weather. Mist curled and crept and clung for now, but who knew if a sunbeam would break through the clouds and lift the moisture away? Or perhaps those same clouds would thicken and become storm, drenching the world in icy, bone-chilling rain.
Agnes gained +3 levels for that capture. Grew to LV 4Agnes wants to learn Acid? Forget a move and learn Acid? The pokeball hit its mark before the diglett knew what hit it, which was good because otherwise it would just have disappeared under ground and been gone in a blink of an eye. Which technically wouldn't have been a bad thing. "What is it with me and catching digletts without wanting to?" Aglaia mumbled to herself and Delos stared at her in disbelief. Aglaia kneeled beside Agnes and the small tympole looked back up at her and blinked kindly. "Are you alright?" Aglaia asked and Agnes nodded with a smile. As Aglaia picked up the pokeball and stood up again, the tympole huffed and mumbled to herself, "like I don't know how to protect myself. Younglings always think you're helpless."
Suddenly the door to the pokemon center bursted open and a big group of people filed through while eagerly chatting with each other. Aglaia perked up when she heard they were talking about a festival they were in preparation of. That sounded like good honest work and something else to do than battling pokemon all the time, perhaps she could even get some discounts for helping out, who knew? "Uhm, excuse me?" She called out but they were too caught up in their talks to hear her. "Hey!" She called out and finally got their attention. "I couldn't avoid hearing what you were talking about, could you need any help?" She rambled off politely.

The group weren't expecting to have someone hollering at them, but a girl with brown ponytail and light blue shirt had got their attention. Their chit-chatting had stopped, and one of them had approached the girl after hearing what she had said. The seemingly leader or more social person of the group smiled, as they could always use as many help as they could get! "Yeeah! We would LOVE to have additional help! We're actually walking over there right now to the festival area. It's a few blocks over from Pokemon Center to be convenient for everyone." The young man smiled warmly. The man looked in the air as his fingers counted the number of things to do in behind the scene. "We've got a lot to do that you can help, what do you prefer to work with? We need to put up tables and chairs, set up lighting and electricals, set up and hang signs and banners, help set up and sturdy the tents, set up fences for pathways, and there's more I can't think of right now."As the group walked, the atmosphere was relaxed, as everyone seemed to be just enthusiastic and enjoying their time to volunteer and to help prepare for the Fall Festival. Some people talked about their commonalities like their Pokemon, their children's current subject in school, their occupations, their favorite thing about fall seasons, their least favorite thing about fall seasons like how it would mess with their hair, and more. "My name is Simon, by the way, I want to thank you once again for helping us."Once the walk was over, the group found themselves in a lot with some trucks nearby with equipment ready to be unload. Some people were already present and began unloading as well as helping with set up. Simon began, "Alright, let's split into group and knock this out! They've ordered burgers from Bronzor Burger today. Let's give our best to set up this festival!" The volunteer group cheered-- clapped even-- and began starting doing their tasks and filling their role. People even started sending out Pokemon to help them with their tasks. They're surprisingly familiar with this and didn't goof off, perhaps there's designated play time during lunch break later? "We haven't work with you before, so I am curious how well you and your Pokemon will work with others. I'll be working with you with whatever you choose for the help, if you don't mind." He smiled and sent out his Pokemon as they're ready for volunteer work.

Aglaia lightened up when her offer got accepted, this surely would give her some good experience when it came to planning and setting things up, without needing any longterm attention from her. She could also get an idea what was needed if she at some point wanted to set up some happening in her future shop. "Thank you!" She said and scooped up Agnes and made sure her other pokemon were following her as she joined the group towards where the festival was going to take place. She was quite surprised to be asked what she preferred to work with. "That is a good question, I don't really know as I haven't tried it before," she explained and thought for a moment, "Chairs and banners and similar things is probably best, sounds like they needs the least experience," she decided and thought to herself that was what she hopefully could mess up the least. She listened to the others chatting, content with just listening and being around other people. It was nice not to be alone and out in the wild for once, she had missed it. "I'm Aglaia, and the pleasure is all mine!"Aglaia looked at the area they were going to set up the festival curiously, she glanced down at the three she had with her and was certain they knew as little about setting up a festival as she did. "I'm very glad you have the time to help me out, I don't want to mess up anything and slow you down," she said with a smile and looked around before she pointed at the truck with a bunch of chairs and tables and benches inside. "That's the one which needs to be offloaded? Where do we need to take them and how do you want them set up?" she asked and looked expectantly at Simon. She was guided in how they usually did their work and as her pokemon weren't really ones with arms they decided it was best they pushed things off the truck. "Watch out!" Agnes shouted and wiggled out of the way when Chestnut pushed a plastic camping chair past her, and almost over her. "Oh! I'm so sorry! I didn't see you!" Chestnut exclaimed and abandoned the chair which fell directly towards the lillipup. "Of course you didn't, youngsters doesn't know how to use their eyes!" Agnes grumbled and Chestnut pouted, "what.. what did you say? I'm sorry," she apologized crestfallen and Agnes looked puzzled at her. "I just said you had to watch out, don't worry, I'm fine," she said reassuringly and flopped over to the edge to look down on where the chair had disappeared to. "Not sure I'd say the same about our friend," she said dryly and Chestnut gasped horrified and hurried over to see what had happened as well. Lillipup was working hard, moving chairs and other heavy things with tackles and bites. He scampered up to held offload the truck, yipping that he was ready, watching the others with a sort of unnerving intensity. This pup was all business and no play, huh? <Hey! What are you doing up—THERE!> He was smacked by the chair before he could jump out of the way. With a growl, he hoped up and glowered at them. <C'mon you two, be careful!> SIGH. <Here, let me show you.> With a little acrobatics, the pup hopped up into the back of the truck to show the tympole and seedot how to properly move boxes and furniture off the truck, grabbing the edge of one with his teeth and dragging it to the edge. There, he nosed it onto a stack of boxes below, making sure nobody else small was underneath. Then he grabbed a chair and dragged it too. Doing much the same. <See. Like that.> His tail wagged. <Give it a try.> While the pokemon offloaded the truck with varying degrees of success, Simon showed Aglaia where to take the furniture. He picked up a chair and motioned for her to do the same, and carried it over to a little eating area where a couple of tables had been set up already. "Each of these tables needs six chairs on either side. And after that, we'll cover them in paper to help keep them clean. Simple, right?" He smiled. Lillipup and Tangela was clearly well suited for the job, the pup had a mouth and was known for working well with humans, while the tangela had vines which could easily grab things to lift and move around. Aglaia's pokemon were a lot more challenged, Agnes were so small and struggled with even just moving around on dry land, and neither Chestnut or Delos had any hands, or things to grab with. The tympole and the tadbulb looked at Lillipup dryly, Agnes flopped over to a chair and fruitlessly tried to bite it and then flopped around on it, making it wiggle a bit. "Oh dear, what a surprise, it doesn't work smart guy," she grumbled and glared at him. Delos came floating closer, "I can push a box, but not drag things like you do," he offered and flailed his tail around a bit to show what he meant.
Chestnut seemed to think otherwise even though she had no arms and no mouth to do as Lillipup, she stomped to a chair and pushed in behind it so it fell down. She tried to push it a bit, but jumped back when it began to swing around as it was heavy compared to her. She then concentrated hard, and then concentrated some more, before she would try run into the chair to get it moving in the right direction. "And what is the idiot doing now?" Agnes commented dryly. Delos was floating around one of the smaller boxes and tried to figure out how to get behind it so he could push it forward. This was quite different than the work he had had at the café.
Aglaia politely took a chair as well, although by the weight of it she guessed she could take more than one at a time. She followed Simon to where the chairs were supposed to be and nodded, that was easy enough. "Yes it is," she agreed and then a loud crash was heard behind them, she turned worried and saw the lillipup jump agile up into the wagon. "Oh, it was just a chair being pushed off," she said relieved, having worried the pokemon had been up to trouble. "How long has the festival run? And do you have any special happenings? You know, like some places like to have eating competitions," she asked as she set up the first chair, and would walk back to get more.

As the group's activities continued, the contrast between Lillipup and the other Pokémon became increasingly evident. The small canine, driven by his enthusiasm and can-do attitude, took on the lion's share of the work. He laboured tirelessly, tugging at chairs and tables, exhibiting an unwavering determination. He nervously watched Aglaia's Pokémon "helping" although from his observation all he could see were frail creatures bumping up against the furniture. Chestnut, the patient Seedot, methodically prepared herself for action, an air of concentration surrounding her as she bided her time. She contemplated the heavy chair and appeared to be gathering her strength in order to throw her body at it in order to get it to move. Lillipup leered impatiently at Chestnut's deliberation, he was unimpressed and starting to get nervous at how long this was taking. After what seemed an eternity the Seedot charged at the chair but bounced off without so much as budging it! Meanwhile, Simon continued to interact with Aglaia, sharing details about the festival. He responded to her questions with a pleasant tone, explaining that the festival would run until December, marking a season of celebration and merriment. And when Aglaia inquired about special events, he grinned and shared, " We've got a burger eating competition lined up. It's one of the highlights. People come from all over for it." " You see," Simon continued with a sense of pride, " Bronzor Burgers are renowned across town. They're famous for their secret sauce, it's a local delicacy!" With a cheeky glance at Aglaia, he asked " Are you planning to enter any of your Pokémon? Not sure you'll stand a chance against Joey Chesnaught though... he's been undefeated for 7 years straight. Unless your little friends here can down sixty burgers in under ten minutes, hmmm?" Simon glanced down at Delos, Agnes and Chestnut and chuckled to himself. One burger between the three of them was probably too much, he thought. Festival Prep Weather: Clear [attr="class","qkt-bkgd"] [attr="class","qkt-wild-pkmn"] Lillipup LV 7 HP 80% [20/25]

Chestnut concentrated and concentrated, but what she concentrated about was a good question. A thud behind her made her jump and lose concentration, having gained nothing from all her "hard work", but it was just Delos who had managed to get behind the box and push it down. Hopefully there weren't anything in it which could break, if there was it had probably happened already. He moved behind it and tried to push it, but to no avail. He floated over to Chestnut who had turned back to.. concentrate.. on the chair again. He flashed his bulb but she ignored it, he flashed it a bit lighter to get her attention but she concentrated too much. One last flash, and sparks jumped from his bulb, startling not only Chestnut and obviously Agnes who wiggled away and out of the truck as fast as she could, but also himself. Chestnut and Delos stared at each other for a long moment, "please come help me with the box," Delos then said awkwardly and vaguely waved towards it with his dangling tail. "That's quite a length for a festival!" Aglaia exclaimed and was taken aback by the thought of the sheer work that would require. "Are you really doing this every year? That long? I have heard of things which last a couple of weeks, but a full month? You must have several activities spread out over the weeks, what are your most popular ones?" She asked and then laughed at a thought which occurred to her, "don't tell me you are doing a Christmas Festival from December!""I have heard of those!" She said excitedly, "never gotten around to try them, I guess I forgot to go out and try the local cuisine when I have the time," she explained bashfully. "It's for the pokemon only?" She asked surprised and felt ashamed that she had wanted to try them herself, she thought about her line of pokemon and looked at the really small pokemon she had brought along today, then shook her head. "I don't think I have anyone who would stand a chance, not even someone who'd just want to love eat," she said thoughtfully. "How did you get the deal up with the Bronzor Burgers? Are they doing it just for the exposure? I doubt they need that anymore but I guess its a good adverticement for them."She reached the chairs which were lined up at the truck and took one under each arm and started to carry them back over to the tables. As Simon continued his conversation with Aglaia, his eyes twinkled with enthusiasm, mirroring the festive spirit of the event. "That's right, every year we go all out for the festival," Simon replied with a nod, his voice animated. "It's a whole month of celebration and we've got something for everyone. There are parades, live music performances, dance competitions and even an art showcase. People from all over come to enjoy the festivities. And you've got it spot on, we're wrapping it all up with a grand Christmas celebration on the last day." Aglaia's question about the Bronzor Burgers had Simon's grin widening. "Ah, the Bronzor Burgers," he said, a glint of nostalgia in his eyes. "They've become an institution in our city. You see, they've been a part of the festival for years, and it's not just about exposure for them anymore. It's a tradition, a symbol of the festival. They take pride in it and our city loves them for it." Simon's hands gestured towards where the food stalls were being set up. "You know, the burger eating competition started out as a friendly wager. It's a bit of fun, and they've got their legendary undefeated champion, Joey Chesnaught. But it's not just about the victory; it's about the camaraderie, the spectacle and of course, the delicious burgers. It's a way for people to come together and enjoy the festivity." As Simon spoke, the Pokémon worked diligently, each with their unique approach to moving the furniture. Lillipup, driven by his unwavering enthusiasm, scampered about, occasionally tripping over his own exuberance but quickly bouncing back. Suddenly, a mishap occurred as Lillipup accidentally stepped on Delos's tail, resulting in an unexpected jolt of electricity. Simon chuckled as he watched the scene unfold. "A whole month?!" Aglaia exclaimed, "how have I managed to miss that, I have been around Cherrygrove in the fall before." Of course, they might have been in a more remote place, or perhaps she had just been too busy and out in the routes to notice any advertisement for it, but it was still hard to believe she had managed to miss it completely. "That must take all year to plan," she added thoughtfully, "how many are you in the planning process? How.. how have you figured out where its best to put stuff? As in, how do you figure out what is the best place for the food stalls for example?" She asked, really wanting to hear the thoughts about it all, and hopefully also some of their errors, so she knew how to avoid those.
She nodded to the explanation about Bronzor Burgers, it was always easier when you were big and had something going already. It was the building up from the bottom which was hard, which was also why Aglaia tried to learn as much about it, before she attempted to open her own shop. Whenever she got done with this travel of hers, and had figured out what she wanted to sell in that shop. "Yeah, traditions are important to keep for things like this, and the teamwork, feeling welcome and being there for each other, otherwise I'd assume it would die out pretty quickly? You need a lot of volunteers after all," she agreed.
Delos' first stray bolt luckily didn't hit anyone. He and Chestnut pushed the box over the edge of the truck and when they turned for the next thing, the pup unfortunately somehow managed to step on the tail of a Delos, who usually floated several inches over the ground. It was no wonder that he got surprised and another bolt escaped his grasp and slammed into the pup. "I... I'm sorry," he stammered but luckily nothing more seemed to come from it. He threw himself into the work again with even more determination to make up for his mistake. Another box, the last one, became his target and Chestnut ran to help him, but stumbled and rammed into him, which released another bolt of electricity, which again shot straight at the lillipup.

"Whole month," he nodded. "But if you're not here on the weekends when the big events are going on, it can be rather low key and missable for those just passing through. We don't want to disturb the locals at all hours." Simon kept moving things around, happy to converse as they set up chairs and tables and the like. "And some parts do take most of the year. But we've got a few dozen people working hard to make sure things are organized. I lost track of how many volunteers we got this year...which elevates the numbers of staff. And of course pokemon help make things easier as well." Simon wiped a little sweat from his brow. "As for how we know what goes where, we mostly follow what was done in years past. The big guy overseeing the vendors has a whole chart labeled to make sure everyone has their designated spot available. While I help set stuff up, I don't handle the vendor side." Simon propped his hands on his hips and watched as tangela started to wrap his vines around a large box, looking very ambitious about how much he could carry. "Hold that thought, I think my pokemon is about to overestimate how much they can lift," Simon said as he hurried over to help tangela with the box. About that time, Lillipup accidentally stepped on the tadbulb again and flattened his ears. <Sorry!> he yipped, before darting off to give the poor tramped tadpole some space. How on earth the other pokemon kept stepping on his tail when it wasn't on the ground was beyond him, and it was weird how that was always what hit them with an electric bolt from him, and not when he accidentally released them for other reasons. In the end though, the result was the same: he kept hitting his teammates and that was a horrible thing to do! Of course it was a bit better than if he had done so deliberately, since now he could partly be excused, but it didn't promise well for their future team work if he couldn't keep his electricity under control. "I'm sorry!" He called after the lillipup as it scrambled away.
"A whole month!" Aglaia repeated impressed, that really required a lot of work and some dedicated people. She wanted to be a part of this and learn! If she could stay around for a year or so she.. ugh, but she had this travel she needed to partake as per demand of her Grandfather. She sighed and resigned that she would just have to learn as much as she could in the short time she had. She frowned when Simon mentioned the pokemon biting on something bigger than what they could chew and she looked at her small, not physical strong looking pokemon. "Yeah, the three I have with me isn't really made for work like this," she agreed, "yours look better equipped, especially tangela with its vines." The trainer looked around for something else her pokemon could do.
Agnes flopped over to help push the box but as soon as Delos arrived to do the same, she flailed away as fast as she could and sulked in a corner for a bit. Chestnut had returned to her chair and was watching it very intently again. "Agnes, Chestnut, come here and help me with these loose ropes, someone could trip over them," Aglaia called and Chestnut immediately abandoned the chair and rushed over the edge of the truck to get down. Agnes followed more stoically. It was much easier work for the two, moving the ropes around and trying to roll them in nice piles. When Aglaia felt they were doing alright, she'd return to the truck to help lift it off. Delos would push with all his might, and some stray electric sparks might jump off him from the sheer force he used. "Uff! This is heavy! What's in it?!" Aglaia exclaimed when it reached the end and she attempted to lower it slowly to the ground, "does it need to keep the same side up all the time?" she forced out through gritted teeth.
(ooc: Agnes switches out with Delos who uses Thunder shock. Agnes, also participated in the last battle and gains 1 level, becoming level 5, self updated. Chestnut already knows Growth.)
