Sandwiches on the Go
Poke Marts across Johto each have their own array of sandwiches that are available for purchase. They range in skill and flavour depending on the location, but majority of their effects work just like canon picnic sandwiches.
PURCHASING
See any Poke Mart Violet City or onward for the sandwich options at that location.
HOW TO USE
Sandwiches are loaded with special preservatives that allow them remain fresh up to 8 months from purchase date and will deteriorate in use beyond that. They are stored in your bag along with all your other travel essentials. If expired they become less potent. Any % effects are halved, and each effect has a 50/50 chance of not activating at all; to a maximum of 1 lost effect per sandwich. This is determined when consumed.
Sandwiches should be eaten by the trainer to see the effects in action. Once consumed, the effects of the sandwich last until there is a change in the time of day (ie: day to night) and do not stack over multiple days or times. Only 1 sandwich can be in effect at a time; including in groups. You may eat another sandwich at any time to override the previous sandwich effects.
For Raids and Estate Honey Tree battles, effects last up to 10 encounters. Just remind mods at the start of each new encounter.
EFFECTS
All meal powers are as per canon except Encounter Power and EXP for pokemon under level 25. For lower level pokemon, the EXP effect has no bonus for participation but is +1 level if present for the KO and is no more than 9 levels higher.
Encounter bonus rates are based on each Pokemon's respective rarity bracket. Once the rarity has been determined, all pokemon matching the effect type will be given extra weighting depending on the level of the sandwich power:

Encounter bonus rates are based on each Pokemon's respective rarity bracket. Once the rarity has been determined, all pokemon matching the effect type will be given extra weighting depending on the level of the sandwich power:
- Lv1: +1 per 4 total unique options in bracket regardless of day/night; minimum of +1
- Lv2: +1 per 3; otherwise same as Lv1
- Lv3: Same as Lv2 but starts at +2
Example: Encounter options are Rattata, Pidgey, Caterpie, Weedle, Zubat, and Wurmple all same time of day.
Trainer has a Lv1 Normal Encounter Boost
Instead of normal RNG 1-6, it is 1-8:
- 1-2 = Rattata
- 3-4 = Pidgey
- ... then just 1 number for every other encounter option
If it was a level 2 effect Rattata & Pidgey would each have an extra number; making the RNG 1-10.
If Zubat was night only and it was daytime the RNG would remain 1-10.
