Can't have the rivals, enemy team and the gym leaders without an Elite 4 (and Champion) thread. I was disappointed by the gym leaders but the Elite 4 frankly shocked me. It was cool to see a black guy as part of the Elite 4 (Although a Fighting type trainer... Nice. ) and finding out the Psychic trainer was actually Caitlin from the Battle Frontier in generation 4 was bit of a surprise. Grimsley was probably my favourite of the lot though, he had some pretty cool lines when you spoke to him. ...The less said about Shauntal the better... All I can see with her is those fanfic writer types and her costume is complete and utter bollocks. What sort of name is Shauntal as well? Alder made quite the champion too. I don't particularly have any opinion on him but he did seem like a mature, grown up version of Lance. Was fun battling him too as well I guess. Oh and screw the Elite 4 theme this time around. All I can hear is that damn Hoenn Elite 4 theme in certain places.

Haha.. Joe Shauntal has a pun in her name if you look hard enough...
WHAT I LOVE THAT THEME EFF YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I liked them, find them rather easy to beat (even coming in from the main storyline) but Alder... oh I do love battling him. His theme and team are really interesting and I have a fun time fighting him.

Oh believe me, it's glaringly obvious but I just question who the hell would let themselves be called Shauntal. It's just... Blah. Doesn't sound like something you'd hear everyday. Grimsley is bit of a stretch too I admit but it doesn't sound so forced as Shauntal. Shauntal just sounds like it was made up to be a pun of a ghost name because they couldn't think up anything else.

Yeah, but most names in English for the Pokés themselves were lazy puns too.
Grimsley is alright, the other two have normal names. Alder doesn't sound retarded either, though sometimes I mentally call him Adeku x)

I found them really easy. I went into the Elite 4 thinking 'Okay, I'm underlevelled by about 10; if I battle them, their pokémon can give me some EXP before they beat me...' and I beat them. I literally went in with pokémon in their early 40s, 10 Full Restores and 14 Revives... and I beat them. I was amazed.

How about the E4 rematches? Were they any better? Seeing as they did have some more Pokemon and were a bit better levelled. For myself I still found 'em a pushover. I do like their type selection though. Dark/Ghost/Fighting/Psychic has a nice ring to it.

It reminded me of those fun Gen IV rumours that there would be a Dark/Fighting/Psychic trio instead of Grass/Fire/Water. And I did like all those types (except for maybe Fighting, but it's okay) and so I enjoyed those lot. I haven't partaken in a rematch yet but I'll be sure to let you know how it goes when I do.
