--Entering from Pine Gap--
As they continued their trek Pia began to look more nervous and uncertain, fluttering here and there, going above the treetops several times and change directions more than once. Astrid watched her tiredly, it had been several hours by now but how many Astrid had no idea. She was tired of her stubborn bird who continued to claim she knew the way out every time Astrid asked but clearly had no idea where they were. "Pia.." Astrid called out softly in an attempt to convince the bird to come clean, Pia ignored her and turned to the right and eagerly gestured for Astrid to follow her down the new path. They had made it out of the pine forest and the ground was covered in ferns but still no familiar place had arrived.
Yakul bah'ed tiredly and Astrid patted her comfortingly, the skiddo had worked hard for a long time, carrying not only Astrid but also all her stuff in the saddlebags. Yakul needed a break but Pia had refused to listen the times Astrid had tried to convince her about it, so for now they had continued.
Slowly the visibility lessened as a fog crept in and Astrid lost sight of Pia several times but the bird returned every time Astrid called for her. The fog became thicker and Astrid frowned at a silhouette that was too small to be a treestump, it turned out to be Pia who was sitting crestfallen and looked hopelessly at her feet. As Astrid dismounted Pia turned her head away, unable to look at her trainer. "We all make mistakes and there is no shame in accepting that, we would have been less lost if you had done that earlier," Astrid said gently and Pia shut her eyes tight. Behind them Yakul laid down relieved to get a break and rest her sore legs.
"We will rest a bit and then help each other find our way back out again, if we are lucky the fog will lift soon and make it easier," Astrid said encouragingly and began pulling stuff out of the saddlebags to make them a proper lunch.
~Waiting for an encounter.

As Astrid stopped to rest with her Pokemon waiting for the fog to die down the sounds of something crashing nearby were impossible to ignore. The sounds grew closer and closer until a small avian Pokemon came into view holding a leek as though it was a sword. The Pokemon known as a Farfetch'd was indeed the same species Sylvester was looking for but this one was wild. Though it was not one of the missing Farfetch'd it was still a uncommon sight to behold and for good reason as Farfetch'd were known to be hot tempered and show no mercy to their opponents. " Farrrrrfetcheeeeddddd" It cried as it noticed Astrid and her Pokemon and quickly made up it's mind that it wanted to battle. The quick decision to battle without hesitation was not surprising as Farfetch'd would rarely back down from a fight even when outnumbered. Despite the danger of picking fights being a major reason why their population numbers were so low Farfetch'd could not resist the urge to battle and this one was no exception. One way or another it was going to face Astrid even if it had to chase her to the very end of Ilex Forest and back. As Farfetch'd waited to see which Pokemon Astrid would pick it pointed it's leek right at her to try and get her to pick up the pace. It wanted to battle but it did not want to wait very long for her to make up her mind. Humans were a rare sight around there parts and it wanted to see just how strong a trainer could be. Farfetch'd (Level 11) appeared, please go here to battle it.

The farfetch'd didn't react as positive and obedient as Astrid could have hoped, in fact it looked annoyed when she showed it her badges. Perhaps it wasn't true what they said about badges earning the pokemon's respect although a pokemon should know what badges was first before that would work, but with working pokemon like the missing farfetch'd that should be the problem here. Perhaps it had just been Sylvester's excuse for some other problem? She got distracted as she noticed something falling down towards the bird and she gaped as it disappeared into the pokeball which then fell into the undergrowth.
Everybody stared and it took them several minutes to grasp what had happened. The confirming ding from the pokeball was muffled by the vegetation and it was first when Janus began to climb down the trunk that the others reacted. "What are you doing?!" Pia snapped and Janus glanced mildly confused at her but didn't stop his way down. "I'm getting down from the tree," he stated making Pia ruffle her feathers annoyed and Lykke chuckle. "No! What were you doing with that pokeball! Those for for humans and you interrupted a battle!" Pia scolded making Janus pause to look at her. "Astrid wanted it to come along and the fastest way to do that was to get it into a pokeball," he said calmly and then disappeared into the undergrowth as he made his way towards the pokeball. Pia hissed furiously and then turned and hacked her beak into a tree trunk in frustration.
Astrid was the last one to make come with a reaction. "Wait," she said slowly and frowned, "that was a pokeball, have I caught one of Sylvester's pokemon?!" She exclaimed horrified which made Lykke chuckle again. "No, no that cannot be true. It must have been a wild pokemon but what are the chances for that?" Astrid mumbled to herself and then rubbed her face tiredly. "You can always show it to him and if it is his he just get it with pokeball and all," she reminded herself and looked down as Janus pushed the pokeball to her feet, left it there and went to the food she had managed to pull out and waited there. Astrid sighed and bent down slowly to pick up the pokeball and then made her way to join him and began share the food among the pokemon. She paused as she looked at Lykke and frowned confused, rubbed her eyes and stared again, while the now quilava grinned back at her. "Lykke?" Astrid asked hesitantly and the quilava nodded eagerly, and Astrid stared confused at her for several moments until she realized what was going on. "You have evolved!" The old woman exclaimed cheerfully and the quilava grinned, she had come a long way since she had gotten beaten repeatedly by the bellsprouts. "Congratulations!" Astrid said warmly and made sure everyone had something to eat before she dug in herself and relaxed. Way too much had happened in a short time but hopefully things would slow down so she could catch up.
A few hours later it was becoming later afternoon and Astrid didn't feel as winded and confused anymore and Yakul had regained her strength and enjoyed trotting around and tasting all the different plants she could find. "Careful Yakul, it will not do if you eat something that is bad for you," Astrid warned her but wasn't really worried. She had gotten Amanda and Pia to go above the treetops to find a way out and she had found North by on which side of the trees the moss grew. She recalled Baard and Janus, they were too small to keep up and gave Yakul the saddlebags to carry again, before she mounted. "Good, let us go then, remember we need to keep a course straight south to get out of the forest and then we will try again. There should be a path through the forest, we are not the first to travel through after all," Astrid said confidently and they set off, with Amanda and Pia regularly going above the trees to get an idea of their direction, especially after they came to an area with less moss on the trees.
