So after the ending of FMA:Brotherhood, I was basically at a loss of what else to watch for a good couple of months until a close friend brought up this little gem from a fledgling company named Sunrise or something.
I was like "Oh fine. Some other shiny shonen mecha shit mmhmm okay" and just left it lying around for a while until I finally decided to watch it for the hell of it.
............
And I'm still watching it now.
It's honestly one of the better anime to come out within this year with a very intriguing setting which mashes up a futuristic Manhattan and Marvel's Superhero Registration Act to quite a bit of success. You've got mecha-suited X-men variety heroes with mutations called NEXT who were once upon a time as ostracized as actual X-men mutants, but some guy wised up in the PR department and started shilling them as heroes instead that companies can hire as spokespersons and representatives/ mascots, all which culminates during a series of shows called 'Hero TV' where these heroes fight crime.
For points, their company and the sponsors, which creates natural rivalry. Win-win situation.
Except for this dude named Kotetsu 'Wild Tiger' who still upholds Superman ideals about justice and hilarity ensues when he's partner with Barnaby 'Bunny' who acts like a blond bishie Batman.
It's way better than it sounds and the characterizations are splendid especially with the main leads. The animation itself is pretty fluid and the backdrops for the major city is gorgeous.
Anyway, enough of me talking. You lot should totally check it out for yourselves or risk missing out on a delicious little morsel of anime goodness
Episodes can be found here.
Enjoy!
