Good Afternoon Everyone. I figured it would be better to Post this here then in the Cbox as I would like to collect people's general opinions on the matter.
I am creating a version of Pokemon on Proboards as well. A work in progress as it were, but I am wanting to Open up the Orange Islands to beginner trainers. To do this I am needing to build a whole Ecosystem obviously primarily water based. I am wanting to bring Pokemon from all the generations and put them in these Islands. I would love help discussing which Pokemon would be fun to put on the islands and in the water.
First of all I need Three Starter Pokemon. I know I could just choose three but I thought it would be more fun to get opinions of others. Note that unlike the other major regions the Orange Island Pokemon League is based on skills of Pokemon so I wanted to incorporate that concept into starters example maybe a really quick a really strong and a really accurate Pokemon but again i would love some new opinions and ideas...Hope to hear form you.

do you mean these islands? Sounds like a lot of fun :3 For starters, considering you want it water based, why not a team of mainly water Pokémon that can carry trainers across the islands? Like Squirtle, Piplup and Oshawott? Or maybe Lapras (as they are know to carry people around - they could be bred in high number to give out to trainers), Eevee (Eevee is a Pokémon that can adjust itself) and Starly/Pidgey (as both evolutions are Pokémon that are big enough to carry people around) Since it's tropical, why not a Tropius? EDIT; try adding a question/Suggestion section. And a staff section A question/suggestion area will get others join in and it's good to involve your members while there isn't much to do

It’s a nice start for sure, but to get an active member base, maybe you should try to stand out a bit. I know the most obvious Professor is Ivy (but obviously if you choose to play as her, people will often mistake you for a girl). Gary’s not a bad choice, though I personally find that he can be overused when people create their own regions. Here’s a list of all the professors that have appeared in the anime so far. If you’re happy with Gary though, completely ignore what I just wrote. As for the starter Pokémon, it’s a small region (regarding the number of gyms) so I think that Pokémon with two evolutionary stages is enough. Maybe give an extra typing just to make the region as appealing as the other four. My suggestions for the starters would be: Also notice how they’re all from Kanto or Johto. I think it fits well since that section of the anime took place between those two regions. I’d think a Deerling, for example, would seem out of place (as a starter, I mean. Water Pokémon from the other generations isn’t a bad idea. Otherwise, it’d get boring too easily). Alternatively, you could try handing out the secondary stage of some baby Pokémon (much like how Ash received Pikachu): You also have the option of Eevee. Then, depending on the Island you visit, you would have the option evolve it into one of seven stages, through either purchasing a stone, or exposing it to a certain condition (that Crystal Onix cave for Glaceon?).
