Having journeyed all the way from Goldenrod nonstop, Joey was beginning to feel the weight of exhaustion on his shoulders. The night's sky was dwindling in the world above and a golden dawn could be seen stretching over in the moon's place. "I sure hope we can find some place to rest at... Its just been one more thing after the other." Hoping for a reply although not expecting one at this point, his only other follower present at this time was Calistra. Still traversing in her human disguise made through the power of her illusions, the vindictive Zorua was clearly giving him the cold shoulder. "Whatever... Hmm. This is odd." As they began moving upwards along the slope of the route, Joey could feel his heart race a little. There was a fond nostalgic feeling to the area he was in. Oddly enough, it couldn't be of his own remembrance. After all, the biker had never been abroad aside from the Sevii Islands. But there was however one source that could have influenced this feeling.
His mentor.
As they finally made it to the top of the hill, it appeared that the sun which had been climbing to the top of the horizon had made its way above just as Joey and Calistra had. Basking in the radiant glow of the sun, Joey could feel his mouth choke up and his eyes swell. "There's... No doubt about this. This place, mentor would always talk about it...!" His body relaxing, Joey merely stood overlooking the traditionally grand architecture of the city. "This is Ecruteak!" Flooding his mind back to when he was a child, Joe remembered all the various tales his beloved mentor told him of the city. "This is... Wow... This means somethin'. When I was young, my mentor would always tell me about his time in Johto. I barely remember bits and pieces of the others, places like Goldenrod and stuff but this...This is Ecruteak." Clenching his fists tightly as he raised them enthusiastically, he began darting his eyes all over the settlement in order to find buildings that could have possibly been what he had hard as a child.
"He'd always go on about these two towers! The tower of life and the tower of death... And that... Woah! There they are!" Pointing off to the largest structure in the city, it wasn't too hard to miss. Standing proudly above the rest of Ecruteak, it evoked a very majestic sense. "But the tower of death..." Moving West from the large tower, it didn't take long for him to find the other, even if it was in a burnt down dilapidated state. "There. My mentor really had these all worked out if I even know where they are. That one looks really bad." As he had mentioned, the tower itself was in reality not much of a tower. Instead it appeared that it was nothing but an ashy, burnt wreck and a husk of its former days. "Hmm... My mentor always like the ladies and spoke of these Heavenly Dancers. I guess that large theatre looking hall there must be what he kept goin' on about." Running a hand over the stubble of his chin, Joey contemplated further. "I wonder if they remember my teach."
Falling quiet, Joey had to wipe a small tear that was forming out the corner of his eye. Having made it this far, to a place his mentor spoke so highly of... It felt like he had achieved something. "I'm gonna make damn well sure i'm on my best behaviour here. This is a place of honour and respect to my mentor." Taking in the beautiful landscape once more, even Calistra appeared to be moved by the spectacle and how contented Joey had become. Her creepy cyan blue eyes scanning every location, even she had trouble trying to argue that this wasn't an idyllic slice of paradise. "...It is indeed beautiful." Perking up at the fact Calistra had said more than one word out loud, he looked to her with surprise. If Ecruteak had this power to compel even a distant creature as Calistra to speak, there was indeed some miraculous power within the place just as his mentor had spoken of. "Haha... Ecruteak was always my favourite locale my mentor spoke of. I think I pestered him over and over to keep repeating everything about it." Deciding not to push or cause a fuss over Calistra speaking, Joey affixed a pleased grin over his face.
"C'mon, we'll go and turn in for the night. I think just about anyone can see that familiar Pokemon Centre sign." Nodding to her, he began pushing along the route and finally made it within the city gate entrance. Stepping forward into the route was an even stranger feeling yet but it was far from being an uncomfortable one. As they navigated their way along the streets, there was an undeniable feeling about the place. "Its almost as if we've plunged back into the past. It's not a bad feeling but the atmosphere this place gives off isn't like any other." Half moving around with his mouth ajar in awe, even Calistra was having a hard time getting used to the traditional way of life. Having grown accustomed to urban features and technology as commonplace, it felt like a return to her roots. Sometime later however, they made it into the Pokemon Centre. Tired, smelly and starving Joe went to the counter and booked a room, although, he was rather forced into booking a two bedroom dormitory thanks to Calistra's inclusion. Walking along the corridor to their room, Joe mumbled. "Dammit... Why couldn't you have gone in a Pokeball? I could've hardly asked for a single bed without gettin' some funny stares. Are you even gonna be sleeping on that bed?"
Smirking to herself, Calistra went on ahead to their room. As they went in and settled, Joey watched as Calistra turned back into her normal form and settled on the bed, wrapped around herself neatly. "Heh, almost forgot that's what she truly looked like. Urgh... *yawns* I think its about time I hit the sack. My sleeping pattern is gonna be ballsed up but eh well. I'm sure night time Ecruteak has a lot to offer." Collapsing onto his bed without so much as removing any of his clothes, the day passed by quickly as Joey caught up with a tremendous amount of sleep. It was only when the moonlit sky began softly peering through the window that Calistra got up and became annoyed with Joey's napping. Jumping over to his bed, she began nudged him ruefully to get up. "Wake up you lazy idiot. If you love this place so much then how about actually looking around it some? Hmph!" One small tackle later and Joey sat up quickly. "OWW! Y'mind butting into me when i'm asleep? Yikes... My neck kills." Rubbing it down softly as he came to, he groggily looked at the Zorua. "What?" Leering her eyes haughtily, Calistra made clear. "I want to see this Ecruteak. Its not like I can't go whenever I want, I just thought you'd know more about where to go."
Scratching the side of his head before tidying up his bandanna, Joey laughed. "Hahaha, say no more."Ruffling the top of the Zorua's head, Joey got up and rubbed his face down. "Well, no time like the present, eh?" Moving to the door and leaving Calistra to eat his dust, the tricky fox angrily hopped on the bed before casting an illusion to make herself look like a young girl. "I still hate you, you imbecilic..." Chasing after him, they slowly made their way through the streets at night. "Perhaps we should explore bit by bit. That route we were in before we entered might hold somethin' interesting." Leading the way for once, Calistra had little say otherwise, instead the two made their way back into Route 37 and looked around. "Let's explore and see what we can find!" "..." Her eyes narrowed, this wasn't exactly Calistra's idea but nevertheless, this section of Johto's forest had a seemingly peaceful air about it. They could do far worse looking elsewhere.

The night was the time many creatures decided to turn in and slumber, but strangely, the forest was still alive with sounds of creatures rustling through the undergrowth. Nocturnal creatures lived for the night; the darkness that cloaked their surroundings with only the dim moonlight as their source of light made them feel alive. Some felt that the waning moon gave them to courage to the impossible, like a light of hope in the darkness. One such creature was foolish enough to think that the sphere of white light would bring along a miracle. Standing atop of a branch, a fuzzy purple insect was taking deep breaths, its compound eyes gazing up at the moon with hope. Its stubby hands made a few flapping motions and its body seemed to rock on the balls of its feet. Its antenaes twitched, judging the direction of the wind. Today was just the perfect day to take flight! Who needs to evolve into a Venomoth to fly? The Venonat felt lucky that it would recieve a miracle. Standing at the edge of the branch, it took one final deep breath, preparing to leap off. Some part of its sensible brain told it this was stupid, but the Venonat's crazy imaginations erased the doubt. Without another moment of hesitation, the Venonat lept off the branch, feeling its body seem to float in the midair. For a second, the Venonat was filled with jubilation as it thought it had succeeded in taking flight. "I believe I can fly~~~ I believe I can-AAAAHHHHH!!!"The triumph that Venonat had felt was quickly diminished as gravity (as well as reality) took hold of the Venonat, sending the bug Pokemon crashing back to earth, right in front of Joey. Wild Venonat(Lvl 27) fell from the sky!Battle or flee?

Despite it being the dead of night, the same didn't extent to the atmospheric noises. Keeping an ear out, Joey shuddered slightly at the sound of all the different chirps and cries of what he liked to attribute to be just mere insects. "Things sure do sound different outside of the city. The wild truly rules out here, eh Cali?" Turning over his shoulder to look at her having just rummaged through some bushes, he was astonished to hear her actually reply. "...Yes." Foraging around a little herself, she differed from Joey in the fact she had very precise, exact search. "I don't even know what i'm looking for. Sometimes people drop stuff, other times I come across actual Pokemon... Maybe the odd lazy arsed trainer too." Mumbled Joey as he went through another bush to no avail. "Mind just rest for a little. You okay with that?" Shifting her cyan almost glowing eyes to him, she nodded her head after some deliberation. Finding a nice comfortable patch at the foot of a tree, Joey sat down with his legs stretched out and watched as Calistra squatted down on her needs and her arms linked together. "Dunno about you but I love the moonlight. When i'm out thieving at night, its like my closest ally." Looking at him, she didn't say anything but instead gave him a somewhat inquisitive look. "Bit of a night owl I am here, haha."
As he was speaking, a couple of rustles in the branches went unnoticed, believing it to be nothing more than the wind ruffling its way. However, when the rustling took an even more frenetic turn, Joey looked up with a startle. "Huh-?!" The shock however was far worse in Calistra. Seeing the plummeting Venonat, her mind had resorted back to the traumatic experience of when she had captured. Believing to have been tricked and her defences lowered, the human disguised Zorua let out a horrifying howl that was not humanly capable. As the Venonat struggled to get its feet Calistra wasted no time in neutralising the problem. Summoning on her tremendous powers of illusion, the once human outline contorted and shifted into something vagluely humanoid. As the blinding light from her transformation died down, Joey edged back against the trunk as he recognised the figure to be none other than Voltek. "YOU WILL DIE!" Having an inkling this was merely Calistra and not the actual enraged, rampaging Voltek, Joey sprung to his feet. "Don't do anything rash Calistra...!!" Realising that she may very well have had the full power of Voltek behind her, Joey reached into his jacket and pocketed out a spare Duskball he had bought earlier while checking out the city. "Just let me take care of it!" Realising the Venonat likely meant no harm, Joey wasn't about to let an innocent victim get caught up in Calistra's fury. Throwing the Duskball forward, Joey hoped it'd be enough to bring Calistra back to her senses.

The Venonat whined slightly, staggering to its feet as it assessed itself for wounds. Having decided that it was mostly uninjured, the insect Pokemon turned its gaze upward slowly as a huge shadow fell over it. When it registered the form of imitation-Voltek towering overhead, the Venonat froze, hoping that the Electabuzz hadn't seen it. But then Calistra roared angrily, and the Venonat felt its blood run cold. Shrieking fearfully, the insect stumbled backward, trying to put as much distance between it and the enraged Pokemon. It was so fearful that it didn't notice Joey, or the Dusk Ball soaring toward it. It didn't so much as flinch as the ball glanced off its head, or notice as the contraption began to pull it in. It only noticed that something was happening when the world around it grew darker, and it honestly couldn't care less, because it meant getting away from Calistra's rage.
The darkness quickly grew stifling as the ball snapped shut. It was an unpenetrable blackness, and even with its excellent night vision, the Venonat couldn't see anything. It quickly began to panic, and struggled to escape from the Dusk Ball. The wild Pokemon had two options: stay in this frightening darkness and become domesticated, or escape and face that beast's wrath. Darkness was much more preferable to the insect, and it stopped fighting, hoping that this wasn't some trick.
A flash of light engulfs the Pokemon, sucking it inside the green and black orb. Snapping shut, the Dusk Ball falls to the ground. Joey waits in anticipation as the Pokeball rocks on the ground, the wild Pokemon struggling to escape. ... The Dusk Ball twitches once... ... Twice... ... A third, violent shudder rocks the ball before... A red light flashes on the middle button and the ball is still! Congratulations!Venonat joined the party has been captured! As the Dusk Ball came out victorious in safely ensnaring the Venonat, Joey let out a series of heavy breaths as he tried to regain his cool. In the short space of what only had been a few seconds, they had been accidentally ambushed, Calistra had used her illusionary powers and they had just welcomed a new Pokemon into the fold. "See? Working with me has its benefits." Flashing Calistra a smile as he scooped up the Duskball, he finished his line. "I'm always looking out for your back." Watching as the towering Electabuzz form stared into Joey's eyes, she retreated a few steps back into the shadowy embrace the tree provided and shrunk in size so that an eerie pair of cyan glowing eyes were looking back at the biker. "I would have been perfectly okay without your help." Scorned the haughty child like voice as the human illusion form of Calistra stepped forward, at least somewhat calmed down from what had just happened. "You seemed... Kinda on edge." Recalled Joey as he remembered the flurry of action.
"And to turn into Voltek who's a loose canon as it is, something tells me there's more bothering you than meets the eye." Glaring at him as if the biker was being too observing for his own good, she shot down his inklings. "There is no such thing bothering me. I was merely defending myself as would any other Pokemon in my situation." Turning to face her back to him, she folded her arms and muttered something in her own tongue. "Even though you looked out for me... I cannot forgive you for using those devices on those from the wild, slaver." Turning her nose haughtily, she had grown tired of her company. "..." Walking off on her own, the sly fox left without saying so much a word. "Grr... Open yourself up dammit." Mumbled Joey as he pocketed away the Venonat and began striding after her. At this rate she'd bump into something else on this dark night.

A child walking on ahead in the dead of the night was hardly the most safest thing to do. Pokemon or not, Calistra was still fairly young and larger predators out there viewed her as a mere midnight snack. Having awoken from the commotion of the noisy Venonat who wished to sprout wings and fly, a more sinister creature now had it's eyes set on Calistra. Despite it's large body, the Pokemon was able to slink through the trees and foliage without so much as a rustle, knowing this area like the back of it's leg. And it had four of them. Red and black body dimly glowing as if warning any other watching Pokemon not to interfere with it's prey, the wild arachnid began it's advances. Over head, the creature known as Ariados scuttled, the darkness as it's cloak, shielding it's movements from the eyes of Joe. As a thief and native of Fuschia, his senses would probably be able to pick up on the more sly creatures of the night.
But this one was well raised, impossible to pin point. In a flash, the plan of the spider sped into motion. Nimble reflexes had allowed it to get ahead of the walking girl, a single twitch of it's appendages sending a flurry of string shot straight for her frail looking body. Arms now tied to her body and ankles drawn together, the girl landed face first with a thud but before Joe could realise what was going on, an even heavier sound echoed through the darkness. Dashing for it's prey without even a care for Joe, the Ariados stood over the body of Calistra, fangs twinging with delight as it was going to lower itself for a bite of her soft flesh at any given moment.
A wild Ariados (Level 28) has appeared to battle! Please select a Pokemon.

Gaining distance from the biker, Calistra had somehow worked out a stride that outdid even Joey's large paces. If only she could go that bit faster and lose him permanently, the real problem of the matter was that he was as stubborn as a dog. "Stick together Cali. We've already had one surprise encounter and we don't want another one occurring, now do we?" Failing to listen to his advice, she continued on, her eyes moodily glaring at the darkened shadows at the corner of her eye. Joey on the other hand was starting to pick up on something else other than their fast movements. Stalker like, it was almost as if something was trailing them. Deciding to remain quiet, Joey couldn't help but feel if another scare would actually do more hood than harm in helping her open up. Slowing down slightly, he began to keep his eyes out for whatever it was that had been the cause of the suspicious rustling. Unable to fully ascertain its location, it was only as it became too late to react that Joey noted the overhead movement scuffling along the trees above. "Hmm..." He murmured in his head, hopefully whatever this was would be frightful enough to cause her to be more open in recalling her memories.
"Go away you miserable human. I wish to be alone." She yelled out, believing the noise to be sourced to none other than Joey. Seconds later, the near distant sight of Calistra suddenly being imprisoned in a thick line of string like substance made Joey narrow his eyes and begin jogging onwards to intervene. "Gah... Don't... You... Even... I WON'T BE CAPTURED! Back OFFFFFF!" Her sentence sliding into a ferocious howl that pierced the night's air, Joey felt the hair on the back of his neck stand up. Using her illusion powers, she began to transform herself once more to scare off the would be predator. Noting that the spider like arachnid was continuing anyway, Joey felt his jaw drop ajar as he caught sight of what she had decided to transform into this time around. Her human body contorting, it wasn't long before she had transformed into a nightmarish version of Dante. "Meet your MAKER. I will kill all of you hunters alive. Fray your skin and eat your flesh. GET OUT." She growled out in a guttural tone, now speaking in a murderous version of Dante's own. "Heh, not on my watch." Flipping out another Duskball, Joey lined up the shot and sent it flying towards the Ariados. She had clearly witnessed him saving her neck the last round and hopefully him doing the same this time would be enough to win some more trust. He hoped. "It's okay Cali, i've got your back!"
Shooting his eyes over to her as soon as the Duskball was in the air, he couldn't help but feel an uncomfortable movement in his gut. Calistra had undergone some sort of traumatic flashback the last time she was socked and this time around seemed far worse. "Hopefully my attempt isn't gonna send her completely off the deep end..."

Thinking that it was going to be enjoying a nice, juicy morsel to munch on, the Ariados was perhaps about to learn that it had bit off far more than it could chew. Flinching back as the silk wrapped girl began to change shape, the spider creature took a giant hop backward to create some space between them, eyes widening as a now horrifying ghost had appeared. Living in an area such as this, this giant Ariados wasn't all that fearful of ghostly Pokemon but the sheer difference between this Haunter and any other had caused it's abdomen to twitch. Not expecting this turn of events and not too sure what to do, the only thought the giant freak on legs could think of doing was scuttling off. That or perhaps snacking on the blonde male whom had recently appeared. Eyes scanning from left to right, the grotesque bug was about to have it's mind made up for it. Flicking his wrist with a perfect aim, a dark Dusk Ball went soaring through the air, colliding with a hide leg of the Ariados and ultimately drawing it inside.
WIGGLE. WIGGLE. WIGGLE. TING!

As the Duskball glowed faintly at its lock, Joey let out a content sigh of relief that the gamble hadn't ended too disastrously. However, whether the gamble had actually paid off was yet to be seen. Quickly jogging over and collecting the Duskball from the ground, he dashed over to try for the umpteenth time for Calistra to try and open. Knowing that she was dangerously hanging over the edge, he approached her with caution, his gloved hands held up by his sides as if to dissuade any notions that he meant her harm. The way she was acting was almost as if she was suffering an intense, traumatic flashback. "Hey... Cali... Everythin-?!!" As he approached, he noticed the floating spectre change into an impenetrable darkness that lingered in the air. Seconds later, an insidious howl came from within it as it launched out a fearsome scythe. "Woah!!" Using his expert reflexes, Joey manoeuvred his body and managed to dodge the attack. As he did, another weapon appeared from within the darkness, this time a terrible axe of incredible size.
Slashing out horizontally, Joey gulped but knew he had the means to dodge it. Leaning over backwards with his arms supporting up his leant over torso, he let out a gasp of relief as the axe narrowly missed is stomach. The ordeal wasn't over just yet, now in a vulnerable position a lance like spear appeared from above and came hurtling down, hoping to impale him on one end of the stick. "No you don't...! HNGH!" Putting as much energy as he could into his right side, he narrowly missed being hit by the lengthy pike. Having a feeling this wasn't the end, he pressed himself up with some help from his elbows and knees at the very same second Calistra summoned another weapon in the guise of a sword. Slashing outwards in a diagonal swipe, Joey sidestep it only just, a small end of his ponytail was cut off, leaving him to watch the ends float to the ground. "DAMMIT! CUT THIS OUT NOW CALISTRA!" Shaking vehemently, the black cloud's weapons vanished into thin air and revealed something else entirely. Two lengthy vulpine like claws bearing dagger like crimson claws lashed out at him. Forcing him to his knees as they cut through his skin like a hot knife through butter, Joey gasped in pain, clutching onto his wounds.
"Is that it? Is that all you can muster in your little temper tantrum? Well I can take it! GIVE ME SOME MORE! I CAN TAKE IT!" Looking up with a wrathful look on his face, Joey breathed heavily, his teeth gritting together as he stared within the dark abyss. As if complying with his wish, another flurry of claw swipes ripped at the biker's skin, leaving him a scarred and bloody mess. "Argh... Can... Still... Take it..." Slashing out one final time, Joey felt his chest almost rip open at the very act of doing so. Clasping on, he summoned every last bit of stubbornness he had inherited from both his mother and father. "I'm... Not giving up on you... Cali... Anngh..." Clutching harder at his chest wound, he was shocked seconds later as he opened his eyes after feeling the touch of someone else resting upon him. A completely unknown sight before him, he saw the outline of Calistra's illusion human form tucked up against his shoulder. What was even more peculiar was he could hear the distinctive sound of... Tears. His eyes widening, he placed two arms around her as he did what he could to comfort.
"Shh... You're here now." Tilting his head to the side, he was primed to get to the bottom of this once and for all. "Cali... Tell me. Your past. These last two ambushes have made me see a side of you that I may very well be imaginin' but... Were you hunted?" Sniffling, she nodded her head without saying a word. "That makes sense... Its okay. Shh..." Her head suddenly shaking violently, she pushed herself back as tears continued to flow down her face. If Joey had wanted her to open up and talk, he was about to have his wish fulfilled perhaps more than he could have anticipated. "Why do you mock me? You taunt me! Saving my life with those hateful spheres you filthy humans use so often... I hate it!" Pounding her clenched fists against his large shoulders, he looked down, expecting to be in immense pain but realised the gruelling scarring he had received was but a mere illusion, only so real his mind had registered the pain as real. "Cali... Your past must be a depressing one but you need to cut it loose. Look to the future. The people who used those tools were evil men but not all of us are bad. Look to who throws the Pokeball, not the device itself." Poking her chin up with the side of his finger, he grinned at her, hoping to invoke some emotion from her. "I know i'm a bit Pokeball happy but I use them not in the pursuit of something vile but something good. Every Pokemon I catch, I take care and look after."
Now placing hands on her fragile shoulders, he continued trying to reassure her. "Do you not remember my warehouse? All the Pokemon that ran amok there? All the happiness that they equally shared. When I capture a Pokemon i'm not just enslaving them i'm forging a bond with them. A bond of friendship and care." Feeling the Duskballs roll in his leather jacket pockets, he couldn't help but laugh. "Hell, they even saved you from gettin' in a tough spot. Look, I know you've been through a lot for someone so young and I guess that makes you a grown up, you've had to in order to deal with all the bad stuff but if you ask me... You still have a lot of growing to do. The head's all grown up but you're still a little fledgling." Patting her head, she sniffled sparsely as she took in his words. "But... I... Hate you..." Standing up from the ground, Joey extended out a hand and offered his assistance in helping her up. "Really? Can you honestly say to me straight in the eyes that you actually hate me? Hate is too strong a word. Save it for real scum like Team Rocket. Now THOSE are something worth hatin'." Her eyes narrowing, the Zorua regained some haughtiness about her expression. Hissing vehemently in a way that only an animal could, she recalled back her feelings towards them. "Hissssss... I hate Team Rocket. Hate. Hate..." Looking at the hand before her, she began to question her very feeling towards those she had previously all brandished us detestable humans.
"C'mon, let's get you up off the ground." Nodded Joey. Helping her up, Joey's ears picked up on a nearby rustle. "Figures, we've sat around long enough and something's chanced upon us."
OOC: Boxing Ariados and i'll leave it blank as I really can't think of a suitable personality at the minute.

After experiencing a traumatic illusion from the young, female Zorua which ended with tears, the duo set foot into the darkness once more, the sound of bushes rustling manically around them. Only, all wasn't as it seemed. From the underground, an entire hoard of Paras scuttled out, a look of absolute fear and worry spread across their tiny faces. Although they were charging right in the direction of Joe, the group split in the centre so to avoid him, shuffling right by as each and every one of them weren't after a fight. They could sense something approaching, it was so close and they needed to find shelter in a hurry. A few moments later and the unusual sight had passed, any questions lingering in his mind as a single raindrop struck the delicate nose of Calistra, then the head of Joe. If one were to look upward, the once midnight sky had been masked by a series of eerie clouds, all of which releasing a heavy down pour of rain in an instant. Heavy winds were also quick to whip up, the tops of near by trees being pushed, pulled and tossed so hard in all directions it looked as if they were going to be uprooted.
Chaos all around and puddles of water beginning to form around their feet, natural instinct would be to run back to town. However, before they could even approach the edge of the city a rather magical and rare sight fell upon them. A litter of young Vulpix led by a two larger ones of their species came prancing down the path, a look of pure horror and discomfort spreading across their snouts as the rain disturbed their warm pelt. Grimacing at the sight of a trainer standing close to where their burrow was, the leader of the group howled warningly, the younger critters perking up their ears. A lone fox stepping forward threateningly in order to distract Joe, it occasionally eyed the few Vulpix who were managing to sneak towards their hidey hole close by in order to escape this foul strike of weather.

His tension waning, Joey softened his stance as he noted a huge load of Paras scurrying away as if in fear of something. By then, Calistra had used his arm to get up and was equally as confused by the sight of the Paras. "At least it isn't some hideous creature of the night I guess?" Shrugging, Joey was about to open his mouth to reassure Calistra further when she raised a hand to stop him. Lifting her nose to the air, she began sniffing as if picking up on something. "Rain... A storm is coming." She murmured. Her delicate senses picking it up, the sudden droplet of water on her did little to make her jump. "Oh for the love of... I thought tonight looked really peaceful too. I guess that means we're in a bit of trouble then, eh?" Given they had ventured so far out into Route 36, it meant returning back to shelter was going to be arduous at best. Taking a few steps, Joey gestured his head with a nod in the direction he was hoping to go. "We better get goin', I remember the last storm I was trapped... WOAH."
Looking up to the sky, what Joey's mind had been recalling uneasily was staring at him above in the sky. The rain had began to fall heavily from the heavens above and the wind was so vicious in the way it handled the trees that one could almost begin to see the visibility of it. "We are not safe here, we must go." Noted Calistra. As they began moving on ahead, a sight of another group of Pokemon came to the fore, this time tugging on their heartstrings a bit harder at the fact a lot of their kin seemed very young. "Wish we could help them but in this weather? Not much... Wait, are you serious?" Having been alerted to their presence, a lone Vulpix moved on forward as if to guard the rest of its family. "We don't wanna fight little fox. You go on and run with the rest of your family." His words in vain, the fox lowered its head and didn't appear willing to budge. Before there was time to scold the fox further, a sudden uptake of wind laid waste to one of the fragile trees, uprooting it into the air. Falling quickly, the tree landed with a whiny quake as it covered over the Vulpix's hidey hole from the elements. "Dammit, we don't have the time for this and now the Vulpix is in danger..."
Reaching into his pocket, Joey was about to order forth a Pokemon to settle the wild Vulpix down when the unexpected happened. Placing out her left arm, she held back Joe from doing anything. "Stop. I will fight on this occasion." Turning her head to look over her shoulder, it was as if Calistra's lack of trust for Joey was remedying. "I've got your back this time." Stepping forward, the Zorua's faint glowing cyan eyes stared down the Vulpix. Still in her human form, she hunched forward as she began to put her illusion techniques to good use. Her body shifting as she concentrated, it wasn't long before she settled on a new form, that of Joey's Voltek. "You should have run when you had the chance. We've no quarrel with you." Surprised at being able to work with her for the first time, Joey thought over her attacks and finally decided. "Calistra, let's hope a Snarl can settle down this fox!" Allowing her enough room to follow through as she pleased, Joey couldn't help but find it amusing that it would be fox versus fox.

The tree uprooting and blocking the entrance to it's burrow, the Vulpix was atleast able to view it's family dashing into a location of safety. Breathing out wearily, it could feel it's body shiver as the rain and wind began falling heavier, howling in a much more threatening tone. Looking at the male and his Pokemon partner, who was interestingly still lingering about, it grunted deeply as battling seemed like the only way out this. Even if it was just to let out some steam for distracting the fox in it's getaway. Stomping a single paw forward, the Vulpix narrowed it's glared, subtly flinching at the unusual sight of the young girl morphing into a vicious Electabuzz. Still, it wasn't going to turn tails and run. Roaring out, the small fox spat out a number of powerful embers, the flames dying down slightly in their journey from the Vulpix's maw to Calistra.
As the flame scattered around her being, it didn't appear to damage her much but then the real damage kicked in. One after the other, the several shots of fire dramatically burst into bigger blasts of flames, hitting the Electabuzz back and shattering the false illusion. Acrobattically flipping backward and landing on the ground, the familiar sight of a black and red fox now stood in the damp battle field. Swiftly following up on Joe's order for once, she took a leap closer to the offensive postured fox, snarling, yapping and howling viciously in it's direction, damaging more than the fire types hearing.

Standing fast, Joey wished he could do something more to assist Calistra in battle. He had no doubt she was a competent battler considering everything she has had to contend with in her life but the way this Vulpix was so adamant made him worried that something bad might happen. That and this was the first time he was using Calistra properly in battle. It was an honest reaction for anyone on their first time. "C'mon Cali! Hang in there!" Resorting to cheering for her at the sidelines, Joey chuckled to himself, remembering this is how he would typically act when he first started out his adventure in Johto. Of late, he had relaxed his invigorating cheers as his Pokemon had become strong enough to fend for themselves but shouting out just then, it made him re-evaluate his decision. Perhaps that added cheer was just enough to set a Pokemon who was battling from average to great.
"Here's hopin' this is the first of many battles to come!" He cheered out again. Sadly, the Voltek illusion turned its head to look over its shoulder and gave a curt grunt. "Feh, suit yourself." Shrugged Joey nonchalantly with a small grin on his face. Despite the harshness of the rain, it appeared a Fire type such as Vulpix was still very much capable of unleashing its fabled fires. Opening its mouth, Joey squinted his eyes as he saw the burning glow make itself known. "Watch out Cali!" The move itself was unknown but it was some fiery variant or another. Funnelling forward, the fire exploded into a huge blast of fire as it impacted with Calistra who had raised her arms to protect from the majority of the blow. As the attack faltered with the rain washing up the rogue spits of fire, the illusion Calistra had made faded, revealing her true Zorua form. Snarling as she lowered her head, it seemed as if Calistra was thoroughly rueful. "If I am partaking in battling it means I do not have enough concentration to create another illusion for myself... Grrr..." Thinking it over, Joey understood the idea. "Makes sense I guess. Oh well, its enough to keep the Vulpix off kilter! Go for it!" Waiting for her to attack.
Leaping forward with a glide through the air, Calistra began letting out a series of unsettling and almost disturbing snarls. As they filled the vicinity with their pollution, even Joey had to wince and clasp his ears to try and ward off the brunt of their damaging effect. "Sheesh! I wasn't expecting much but that move is grating!" Finishing with a low sounding snarl, Calistra warily retreated backwards. "Give me the order and I will make this vulpine regret straying from its pack." Shaking his head, Joey picked out a Greatball from within his jacket, pressing its centre and enlarging the device. "No, this is where I cut in. Its our fault it got separated and with that trunk blocking it off, there's no way in hell i'm keeping it alone in this hell of a storm." Turning on the spot with a hop, Calistra began to snarl warningly. "Do not dare use those spheres in my presence..." Shaking his head, Joey defied her wishes. "No. You need to get over this fear. Me using a Pokeball doesn't mean i'm puttin' a slave collar over you or any other Pokemon for that matter. I'm making sure its safe!" Eyeing her sternly, Calistra's lips twitched as she continued to snarl. "...Fine. I do not like the idea of them but... Go on." Thinking through everything Joey had said earlier, Calistra had little else to argue against.
"Alright, here goes!" Throwing it forward with a pitch, Joey let the ball depart form his hand.

The Great ball that soared towards the Vulpix went unnoticed by the plushy creature for a minute, the rain making it feel slightly dizzy. Whimpering, it finally looked up only to have the ball slap against its chest. The ball opened and sucked the young fox inside, the warm energy that was wrapping around it feeling quite good as opposed to the cold wind and rain outside. Finally, the ball closed around the energy and fell to the floor. It shook for a while, and Joey's Zorua looked away, clearly annoyed at the fact that he had used a tactic like that in the first place. The ball continued to shake until finally, it snapped shut. The rain still continued pouring, but now the creature was safe inside the ball. The ball's center began blinking a blue color, letting Joey know that some information had to be filled out on the new Pokemon he had just captured within it. It also seemed that the young Zorua was struggling with her move set, so it was time to make a choice on something new she could learn. ------------------------------------------------- Congrats! Calistra helped you capture the Wild Vulpix and has grown to Level 28! She'd like to learn the move Taunt but her move set is full. Make room for it? Calistra has gained +1 Happiness! Sensing she was none too pleased, Joey gritted his teeth and sighed. He had managed to really improve his bond with her but not everything was going to change in such a fickle shift. "Hate me later, we need to get outta here before something else decides to drop down on us!" Scuffling forward, he began charging against the howl of the ferocious wind as he lowered his body to the ground, his arm stretched out in order to capture the newly rescued Vulpix. His other arm on the other hand was preoccupied with someone else. "Hope you don't mind bein' man handled!" Yelled Joey over the sound of the hurricane's storm. Lifting her up in an ungraceful manner, he tucked the diminutive Zorua fox under his left arm as he sprinted towards the gate that led them to Ecruteak. "After everything that's happened today, you actually have the guts to whisk me away like some sort of pet?!" Snarled Calistra as she struggled to get into a comfortable position. "For now we need to get to a safer location!" Letting herself be carried, the Zorua was half tempted to give the oaf a bite with her fangs but on the other hand, she was far too reflective over everything that had happened. He may have been inconsiderate with his rampant use of those capturing devices but the fact he continuously pulled through and through in order to stand by her made the illusion fox feel something weird... Her eyes narrowing, she remained silent as they returned into Ecruteak. After everything the biker had said, perhaps this city would herald something important.
OOC: Boxing the Vulpix, ignoring Taunt.
