I don't really see the point in all of this. But... whatever. Rhoan huffed, standing outside the doors of the Gym. She'd had a quick battle before this, righton the outskirts of Cherrygrove. It had proved fruitful, there wasn't even an attack to spare between the three mon she'd overthrown. Now though, she was about to fight the first Gym Leader. I wish it could be with fists. I'd win for sure. I hear its just a kid.. She sighed, Reaver scurrying about in her hair before letting out a squeak of amusement. Weird Pokemon.
She pushed the doors of the gym open and stepped inside, immediately bored. Hey, here to test my skill and all that jazz... She murmured, crossing her arms, making sure all of her pokemon, minus Reaver, were in Pokeballs to keep them hidden. But the Joltik was so small it was fine perched at the back of her head and out of sight. Wouldn't want to give away a battle plan. [/blockquote]

A young teen stood at the end of the Gym on a raised platform, arms crossed with a bored expression upon his face. His long, dark blue hair was ruffled and somewhat untidy, as if he was too lazy or didn't even care about how he looked. Back leaning against the wall, he hardly noticed Rhoan walk in until her words interrupted his thoughts.
Looking up through narrowed eyes, he let out an exasperated sigh, seeing another Trainer challenge him. Although he had been bored out of his mind, another battle was the last thing he wanted. "Tch...why did father bother leave me caged up here to see all these amateur Trainers..."Falkner muttered. Brushing aside his bangs, he allowed himself to leap down from the platform onto the battlefield. "Alright, let's get this over with,"the Gym Leader drawled, taking out a Pokeball and tossing it up. A spherical capsule snapped open and out popped a Pidgey. The avian soared to the sky, spreading his wide wings as he enjoyed letting himself soar through the air, free of the Pokeball's confinement.
Falkner gazed up at his Pidgey, envy apparent in his eyes. How he wished he could be like a bird and soar through the skies, free of any responsibility. But instead, he was a caged bird, forced to remain in this Gym to challenge all Trainers that came. Cursing his luck, he directed his attention back at Rhoan. "Well, what are you waiting for?"Falkner called, impatience apparent in his tone.

The kid seemed like he didn't want to be here, so who was Rhoan to hold him down, hmmm? Look kid, this is the last place I wanna be too, but we're just gonna have to deal with it. I'll try and make it quick. Reaver. She called, and the little bug from the back of her head scurried up her hair to her forehead, and then jumped down, taking quick steps and little hops to make it to the battlefield. Her size was small, but that was irrelevant. Let's see if you're stronger than you look. she murmured, although it was to Reaver and not to the leader. She seemed completely uninterested. Electroweb. She shrugged, and watched the little Pokemon prepare it's attack. She'd have to earn a spot in the line up, just as Cola had did. Perhaps she could prove herself in this match here.

The Joltik watched the hovering Pidgey with careful eyes, pincers flexing as she prepared to attack, gathering up the stickly strands in her mouth. Quickly, the electric spider reared back before opening its pincers wide as it got ready to shoot.
"Pidgey! Dodge it quickly!"Falkner shouted, realizing his bird would be doomed if the attack hit. The Pidgey didn't need telling twice as the Pidgey quickly tried to veer to the side. However, it had underestimated Reaver's accuracy as the bug let loose the sticky threads. Instantly, the web began to entangle the avian. The Pidgey cawed in alarm, struggling madly as it tried to free itself from the web. Unforunately, it wasn't over yet. The web began to spark madly and before the Pidgey could comprehend what was happening, thousands of volts of electricity coursed through the bird.
Screeching in pain, the avian instantly blacked out as the terrible sensations racked its body, sending the bird plummeting to the earth, out of commission. "Noooo!"Falkner roared in rage. Seething with fury, the Gym Leader wasted no time recalling his fallen Pidgey and releasing his Pidgeotto. "This one shall not fall so easily,"Falkner snarled, waiting for Rhoan's next move. Falkner's Pidgey has been KO'D!Congrats! Reaver gained +1 lvl. Reaver is now Lvl 16!Falkner sent out his Pidgeotto Lvl 15Would you like to switch Pokemon

Rhoan grinned slightly, a rare feat indeed, as her Pokemon released the electric webbing. In almost no time, it seemed as though the battle was quickly sliding into her favor, and hopefully this would be finished soon. Reaver's name held true, the Pidgey fell tot he ground, immediately KO'd. One of the more powerful Pokemon in her arsenal, and yet the smallest. Reaver gave a little chirp before bouncing back over to Rhoan, who crouched down to pick up the creature, allowing it to rest on her neck once more while the leader snarled in anger. This only fueled Rhoan more.
Temper, temper. She crooned, watching the next bird come out. Hmmm... Reaver could make a quick job of it, but it was time for someone else... but who? Tyrana would destroy the bird as well, so... C'mon Hatari. She released the fish, currently the weakest Pokemon in her arsenal. But perhaps she'd get lucky and raise the girl up a bit. Let's see what you can do with that rage of yours. The Caravanha snapped her jaws, eager to start battling to prove she was strong. At Rhoan's command, Caravanha's body seemed to glow red as she allowed anger to consume her mind, feeling strength beginning to flow within her. "Not so fast! Pidgeotto, use Mud-Slap!"Falkner commanded. With a cry of consent, the avian swooped down at the Caravanha, wings tucked to its side as it flew straight at the fish. Then, just at the last second, the Pidgeotto's wings unfurled, causing it to stop just a few inches before the Caravanha, sending up sand and dust splattering across the fish's face. Hatari flinched as she felt the sandy grits get into her eyes while she felt her face sting from the Mud-Slap, despite her rough exterior. However, Hatari took advantage of the Pidgeotto's close range and quickly snapped at the Pidgeotto. The bird Pokemond didn't have time to react as the fish attacked it in its Rage. The Pidgeotto struggled to escape, managing to escape the worst of the damage and fly a few feet away. The Pidgeotto winced as new wounds formed on its body, wavering in the air. --------------------------------------------------------- Gym Leader Battle! Well, that certainly wasn't the goring blow she had been hoping for.
The Carvanha shook her body, ridding her scales of the mud that settled in her eyes. Her fins couldn't reach it, so she'd have to do without the accuracy for now. Hopefully she'd keep hitting or she'd be replaced in battle, and possibly in Rhoan's line-up. She wasn't one to keep nursing losing Pokemon. That wasn't her style at all. That was pitiful, Hatari. Live up to your name for once, will you? Use your Rage again, or i'll hop in battle and do it myself. Rhoan hissed, attempting to piss off the fish even more. The angrier the was, she stronger she was. If she was hit, her rage would grow. The bird was faster, after all. [/blockquote]

"That was exactly what we were hoping for. Pidgeotto's attack is a defensive and offensive move, and it will only get worse over time. Now Let's use Gust!" Falkner said as he was starting to see that Pidgeotto was going to have some advantage in battle. However on the other side, Hitari had already started to grow with the attack power that the Rage attack had given her, it had started to slowly prove that this was going to be a good move choice.
As the Pidgeotto heard Falkner's call it swooped down into the battle field again with its wing span. And hovered just above Hitari where it began to put in extra effort into its wings. Flapping them as hard as it could, it created a strong gust attack as the avian pokemon sent the craized wind right at the Carvanha. Sending it backwards with the powerful wind and forcing it closer to its trainer. However Hitari shook off the wounds like it had done last time.
Then Hitari's turn came as it began to glow with a deep red as the rage continued to build. Its power surged through its body as she was getting ready to perform her attack. Then lunged at the Pidgeotto and managed to clamp onto its wings with its sharp teeth. As Carvanha's were nasty with them, she too refused to let go as the Pidgeotto desperately tried to shake off the water pokemon. In order to avoid falling straight to the ground on the battle field. And once it did, there were new wounds left in place from where the water pokemon had attacked it on the wings. Gym Leader Battle! Falkner's Pidgeotto: | Level 15 | HP: [green]39/48 81% [/green] Status: Normal Attack: Successful Gust Rhoan's Hatari |Level 14| HP: [green] 25/40 63%[/green] Status: Attack +2, Accuracy -1 Attack: Successful Rage

So, with each hit Pidgeotto made, Hatari got angrier and angrier. Fine with her. She'd be a fine shark one day, but Rhoan would never admit that to her in a battle. Maybe later, but Hatari needed... 'special' motivation. By looking like a complete heel, Rhoan was going to give it to her. Sorry, I thought we were battling. Would you like me to step in for you, Hatari? She teased, and the fish's rage grew, though it wouldn't help if she couldn't hit. Hopefully accuracy wouldn't be a problem. If so, Rhoan would switch her out and have someone else in her stead finish the battle. If only Falkner knew she could take him out in one hit with a few of her Pokemon... tsk tsk.
You're nothing but another stump in my way, boy. Don't think you're going to win. Hatari is my weakest Pokemon in my team. She told the leader, wondering what was going through his mind. Even if his little mudslaps hit her Pokemon, if things got too dire she could always release Tyrana to finish it off with a Dragon Rage, or Reaver with something electrical. That'd be a fun end to the battle. Just... use your Rage again, and if you miss i'll probably switch you out.

Fluffing the bangs of his hair, Falkner was starting to take offence to the way in which Rhoan carried herself towards him. " A stump? Please. Could you have not picked something but with a bit more grace? Finesse?" Throwing his hand to his side, he examined Rhoan's appearance. She was a wild one to be exact and there was something off about her character. As much as he would like to pick apart what she exactly did for a living, Falkner bit his tongue. This whole gym care taking meant he had but one duty above all else; to test the mettle of those who would dare challenge him. " Even if that is your weakest Pokemon, there is no need to get so arrogantly cocky." Hearing her battle strategy, Falkner shrugged his arms. If the idea of a switch was starting to hide at the back of her mind, he could only help but facilitate her deciding upon such a move. " Pidgeotto! Hear me, ground yourself and slap up the mud coated floor. We shall blind our prey and then swoop for victory." Creating a shrill cry, the Pidgeotto landed to the ground with a thud and eyed its opponent. The agitated piranha was flapping around on the ground and was more than willing to try and take another bite out of the bird. " Be careful of its movements!" Advised Falkner, something the Pidgeotto felt somewhat annoyed over given the fact he was hardly the one trying to deal with the fish's frenetic movements. Using its keen eye, the Pokemon watched as the piranha somehow sent itself propelling forwards through the air. Judging it correctly, the Pidgeotto swayed its large wing spans around as the fish narrowly missed the Pokemon's wings once more. The very dodge was much like a bullfighting taunting an enraged bull. Landing to the ground with a thud, the Pidgeotto saw its opportunity. Using its raised wing that it had dodged with, it span itself around as the feathers were dragged thoroughly through the mud. Having scooped up enough, the Pokemon pelted it forward and lathered Hatari's eyes with a new layer of mud. Cocking a smirk, Falkner seemed to be the one who was getting to confident for his own good. " You see, you could have all the power in the world but it will do you no good if you can't hit what you can't see." Watching as his Pidgeotto landed next to him, he crooned over the wonderful traits of birds. " Perhaps you should have attempted this challenge with a keen eyed bird if your own. Such beautiful creatures don't have to bother with such frivolous problems." Gym Battle

Holding back the urge to pitch the fish towards the bird with her own hands which weren't covered in mud, nor her eyes, Rhoan merely clenched her teeth and looked at the fish in front of her. A rare find indeed, but proving to be more of a nuisance than a help in this fight. True to her word, the enraged fish was returned with a swift flash of movement. Her pokeball was put in her back pocket; she'd deal with the team order later. Hatari was a good catch, but right now she wasn't doing the team much help. Perhaps a bit more training.
Hnf. I have another mon I can train. If Cola won't finish this, i'll just release the dragon.
She muttered to herself, before releasing Cola, the Sandile. The, slighly less intelligent Pokemon cast a glance over at his trainer, waiting for her orders. The only thing he really could do was bite it, so that was the plan for now. Hopefully they'd finish this quick; Rhoan had things she had to do. Bite it please? [/blockquote]

"Changing Pokemon isn't going to help you win this fight,"Falkner said to Rhoan, eyes narrowing as he observed his opponent switch for a crocodile Pokemon. Falkner didn't want to admit it, but he felt he might lose this battle considering his Pidgeotto was his only Pokemon left. Pushing away the doubt, Falkner quickly commanded his avian, "Use a Sand-attack, and follow up with Gust!"With a cry of assent, the bird Pokemon launched itself at the crocodile Pokemon. The Sandile snapped his jaws, shooting a glare at the Pidgeotto that made the bird somewhat apprehensive of attacking. Nevertheless, the bird flew near the ground, using his talons to kick up sand that was slapped right into Cola's face. The croc let out a cry as his eyes became filled with the sandy grit. While trying to dislodge the sand from his eyes, the Pidgeotto quickly beat his wings, sending a gust of wind that sent Cola hurtling off his feet. Shaking his head to clear the pain, the Sandile lept back onto his feet and wasted no time darting towards the Pidgeotto. Leaping at the avian, the crocodile sank his teeth deep into the bird's wings, causing the avian to screech in pain. The Pidgeotto quickly shook the Sandile off and retreated back, wincing as pain lanced up from his new wound. --------------------------------------------------------- Gym Leader Battle! But I have five Pokemon in my team. Your defeat is inevitable.
Rhoan said coldy, watching her brute crocodile return to his side of the field, grit staining his eyes. No matter what, she'd win. Even if he managed to defeat both Cola and Hatari, maybe Cayzle, there was still no shot of him winning. Five Pokemon against two, just the sheer numbers of it all, plus the lurking dragon she could release at any moment... it wasn't propable or smart. He should just give up now.
but, where would the fun be in that?
Rhoan sighed and looked back at Cola, who waited motionless for an attack. A pure soldier, or fighting machine. Didn't haste in, he waited for orders from his commander. Good. I have an errand to run, Cola. Please hit it this turn, unlike Hatari. Bite so we can go. [/blockquote]

" Your certainty about things comes across as arrogant, you know that?" At the end of his limits with this woman, Falkner was beginning to ponder if she had shady links. Most of the time, trainers who walked in with a cocky attitude and confidence to boot usually had something unscrupulous going on about them. Casting his mind back, he seemed to recall a blunt eye patched male and then before that a loud mouthed cocky teenager who believed himself to be an ace. Scrunching his face up with some irritation, he flipped his hair off to the side and pointed a finger forward at Rhoan. " I'm outnumbered that much is true. But prepare to be amazed by the miraculous power that Bird Pokemon possess! I doubt any of your Pokemon can heal themselves on the fly." Focusing his attention to the Pidgeotto, he yelled his command. " Pidgeotto! Use Roost! Let's heal over your bruises." Crying shrilly, the Pidgeotto was all too pleased. Landing on the ground and furling its wings up, the Pokemon began to rest cautiously as it kept a pair of eyes on the crocodile it was facing. " With the power of healing, I think Pidgeotto might very well overcome your numbers." Putting on a false smile, deep down Falkner was bricking it. " I've seen my dad do that so many times before... Is this even going to work for me?" He mumbled within his head. Sadly, he would find out that no it wouldn't. Acknowledging Rhoan's order, the Sandile advanced on the Pidgeotto with a flurry of steps, its tail brushing along the floor with a push as to hasten it further. Moving along, the Pidgeotto let out a warning coo but in truth was also in fear as it couldn't fly out for a dodge due to its wings resting up. There was no way a bird could fly with a dead wing. Hoping to hop out of the way, it was surely a lesson in futility. As it moved, the far reaching maw of the crocodile bit down and with a siege of bites, imparted a critical strike onto the Pidgeotto. Although its wounds had been rested, the sheer overwhelming force was enough to make the Pidgeotto pass out unconscious on the floor as Cola kept the bird in its mouth. " N-No way! That's... IMPOSSIBLE!" Blurted Falkner. He was sure his strategy would work but now he was left with another crushing loss in his ever growing string of defeats. Gym Battle

Your Carvanha fought courageously and has levelled up for its participation! It went up by 1 level and is now Level 15! Hatari also gained +1 Happiness. Your Sandile fought courageously and has levelled up! It went up by 3 levels and is now Level 18! Cola would like to learn the move Assurance.Delete a move so that he may learn it? Cola also gained +1 Happiness. Remaining quiet, the initial shock Falkner had experienced was now well and truly washing over him. Merely staring at the body of his knocked out Pidgeotto, it was as if someone had stolen the wind from beneath his wings. Slowly extending out his arm holding his Pokemon's Pokeball, he made sure to return it lest Cola make a tasty snack out of it. Pocketing it away, he fell silent again. The entire gym was filled with a suffocating silence as the gym leader agonised over yet another defeat. If his was dad was still here, he'd surely be blasted by denouncing words. In fact, the silence that permeated the air now was usually when his father would criticise his efforts. Going through the motions, Falkner let out a sigh as he began to step forward. By then his father usually would have shut up and gone onto something else. " Fine. You win. I don't like it but that's that. For your victory I award you with the following." Taking some items out of the inside of his top, Falkner presented them forward. " The first is your monetary winnings, 1560 Pokedollars to be exact. The next? A Technical Machine. I'm sure you're aware of what it does as it is the same move I used earlier, Roost." Last but not least was the Zephyr Badge. " And this badge is a symbol of my defeat." With Rhoan now in possession of all the items, Falkner surprisingly had one more thing to say. " And you. I have a warning. Don't think I will tolerate any misbehaviour you get up to in this city. I sense a troubling aspect about you..." Staring at her, it was amazing the youthful teenager had enough courage to stand up to someone as decorated as Rhoan given her exploits out on the field and not to mention the battle scars. Congratulations! You have bested Falkner and claimed the glory of victory! The bird Pokemon enthusiast awards you with £1560, TM51 Roost and the Zephyr Badge!

(Forget Rage for Assurance.)
After sending out Cola, she knew it would be over very quickly. Even though she was pissing off the gym leader, her brute could match up to her words. Despite what was happening, it was truly inevitable. There was NO way he'd win, and Rhoan enjoyed cold hard facts. Whatever, kiddo. Just cause you're a gym leader... that doesn't mean much of anything. You're outnumbered. She looked down at her belt. Outwitted. She looked at the Sandile, a dull Pokemon in it's respects, which probably ticked him off even more. And out powered. She purred as the Pidgeotto fell to the ground. Even his roost couldn't stop her.
She took the prizes with a smug look on her burnt face, and stuffed them in her pockets. Thanks kid. It's nice to know when people can fess up to the inevitable. She grinned, leading her Sandile out the door. Hatari needed training. [/blockquote]
