GOOD LORD. I watched an episode the other day; the one based on the Croagunk festival and I couldn't get over how bad some of the voice acting was. Brock sounds far too deep and actually quite sinister and perverted. Meowth was... Don't even go there (RIP Blaustein) and even James sounded way too posh and lame. I understand they can't exactly keep voice actors due to unavoidable external circumstances but seriously... They could at least try putting some effort into finding some similar replacements. But then again, you're speaking to a guy here who has only really watched up until the beginning of the Johto arc so I guess my opinion is invalidated a bit.

After watching like the first 3 episodes of Sinnoh I stopped watching it. The voices were the best from Kanto until Jotho and after that the Voices blew up in both the directors and fans faces. Kaboom.

I know! Ash's voice in particular is absolutely disgusting! There really was no effort put into finding good replacements for the originals! (Btw, HIS VOICE HAS BEEN BREAKING SINCE ADVANCED GENERATION!)

The one thing I am sad about is the voice actor for Meowth passing on. I think they had a heart attack or something instantaneously fatal and because of that Meowth's voice acting just falls so flat in comparison. I'd say the original voice acting for Team Rocket had some of the best voice acting going. At least they sort of understood the silliness of the anime and hammed it up.

I have no idea what the Japanese voice acting sounds like. Although I am pretty certain I know that it is already going to be miles ahead of what we get here in the West. Hey, that's a point. Autumn, in the Japanese voice acting, have they had to change the voice actors at all? Or have they remained largely the same? It's just such a long running series I can imagine there being a changes.

oh, i'm sure there has been changes o.o i have never really looked them up so never cared much to think about it xD but japanese people are careful when they come to changing voice actors, i know that for sure. so even if they HAVE changed the voice actors, it'll be VERY hard to notice the difference

I wish over here in the West that the dubbing company would take it as seriously but unfortunately the Pokemon animated series is viewed as very much juvenile and a platform to further sell the Pokemon brand. Some of the changes over here are like night and day. Ash for example sounds like he grew a pair and hit puberty. *weeps* What did they do to you James?

James! you beauty! I loved thee like a sister! Why? Oh why? Did you have to quite the heels and the 'rods and reel and tackle'? Damn Western dubbers!
