Testing the power of Aura (Option 2)[F]

Having finally completed her training Vör could hardly contain her excitement as she approached the doors to the Goldenrod Gym with Marchbaby right behind. Vör was harder to train than Marchbaby could have ever dreamed but with her help he was hoping that between the two of them that they could win against the gym leader here. Although he knew Vör had the type advantage assuming the rumors he had heard were true he had learned all too well how even a type disadvantage did not mean a Pokemon could not put up a good fight. Even so he also had a feeling that no gym leader would expect to see a trainer with a Lucario so early in their journey either and he was relying on that shock to help him in the battle as well.

As the doors flung open the childlike interior of the gym caught him by surprise as it was far different from the first two gyms both appearance wise and size wise as it was a lot smaller than he was expecting. " Whoever runs this gym sure is a kid at heart and I applaud them for it. It takes guts to have stuffed Pokemon throughout your gym and still be taken seriously. After Bugsy's lessons I know not to underestimate a gym leader but this makes it very hard not to think this will be an easy battle." He whispered as Vör sensed the gym leader off in the distance, as she took a deep breath she walked towards the gym leader with Marchbaby following her.

Before long they were standing on the gyms battlefield and off in the distance and her pink hair was quite eye catching as Marchbaby struggled to focus on any other part of her as he started to speak. " My name is Marchbaby and this here is Vör, we have been training for a while now and we would like to challenge you to a gym battle." Hoping he got her attention Vör was ready for battle as she started to build up her Aura powers anticipating a tough fight, once she knew what Pokemon she would go up against first she would be ready to make her move. " I can sense her strength is far greater than it appears, I look forward to a good battle and hopefully my training pays off." She thought to herself as she waited for things to get underway.




OOC: Choosing option 2 so I can skip directly to Whitney, waiting to see which Pokemon she chooses first before I select a Pokemon officially.

"WEEELLLCOME CHALLENGER!~~!!!" Whitney greeted Marchbaby and Vor in the center of the battlefield. She had an upbeat and friendly attitude which always helped make her challengers feel welcomed and at ease. Besides her friendliness, the first thing most people noticed about Whitney was an incredibly pretty girl. She had a sweet face and eyes that always caught the light just right, and her bright pink locks matched perfectly with her peppy nature. It was not difficult for her to get and maintain other's attention, something Whitney was smart enough to know exactly how to exploit. "It's so great to meet you Marchbaby, I'm Whitney, the Gym Leader of Goldenrod City! Oh and it's great to meet you too Vor. Gosh, I don't think I've ever seen such an adorable lucario and I love how you've accessorized with a black belt. It looks like you two are going to put up a great fight! I'm so SO so excited!!"

Whitney looked over Marchbaby and Vor. Her facial expression was cheerful and her eyes friendly, but really she was analyzing them carefully and critically in order to get a feel for what kind of team the two might be. She was impressed that Marchbaby already had a lucario on his team, and it was remarkable that he'd also already equipped it with an item to boost its abilities. Whitney flashed a smile at Marchbaby, this fight was going to be a fun challenge for sure. 

Skipping back over to her side of the battlefield, Whitney struck a dynamic pose. "ALLLRIGHT! Are you ready to battle Marchbaby? This is going to be so fun!" 

Whitney threw her pokeball high in the air with a flick of her wrist, the ball flew up in a tall arch and right at its highest peak it began to glow and open as a pokemon was summoned out of it. This was a dazzling move that she'd trained extensively, she loved to put on a captivating show. Whitney's clefairy landed gracefully on her feet in the same moment the pokeball landed right back in Whitney's hand.

"Marchbaby and Vor, meet lil miss Cleo!" The clefairy let out a trill and delicately spun on its tippy toes as if it were a trained ballerina. "She's going to be your first challenge of the day! Let's have a marvelous battle!

Nearly deaf from the rather loud but excited greeting he received from Whitney Marchbaby was quite eager to get things started. His knowledge of the gym was already a bit off as the first Pokemon he would have to defeat was a fairy type rather than a normal type. Vör was prepared for that setback nonetheless as the Flash Cannon TM he used on her a while back gave her quite a powerful steel type move to use alongside her fighting type attacks. Before he could get started however he could not pass up sweet talking Whitney a bit to try and take advantage of her admiration of Vör.

" Thank you, Vör has worked quite hard and the Black Belt seemed like the perfect fit to go alongside he unique fighting style. Your Clefairy looks pretty strong as well. It must catch quite a few trainers off guard as they are pretty rare in these parts." Even with the small talk the excitement in Whitney's voice made it clear that she wanted to get started pretty quickly as well. Having trained so hard and long for this moment he was ready to see if it would be enough to bring him one step closer to becoming a dragon master.

" Being a dragon tamer from the great city of Blackthorn I would normally use dragon types but as my only dragon is being cared for by Professor Elm at the moment my backup speciality of steel types will have to suffice. Vör lets show Whitney here the might of a steel type that has mastered the power of Aura." As he faced Vör the young Lucario started to build up light energy in her paws to perform a Flash Cannon attack as soon as Marchbaby gave the order.

After taking a moment to analyze Cleo he felt that she would be quite a good test subject for the move in a gym battle and he gave the order to attack. " Vör use Flash Cannon, this is your first attempt at the move against a strong opponent but I have faith in your power." Vör then took aim at Cleo and then fired off the ball of light. As she waited for the results Marchbaby crossed his fingers as his emotions reached a fever pitch. He regretted not using Flash Cannon against more stronger opponents before this battle but he could not back down now.

Ooh, it really gives her style! Whitney marveled at Vör's shiny black belt, you must tell me where you got one of those. Are they in different colors as well?
A giggle followed and it was hard to tell if it was from her question or an reaction to Marchbaby's praise of her clefairy.
Cloe has a lot of hidden tricks and people often wrongly assumes that girly means weak. The look on their faces is priceless! Whitney revealed with a giggle.
Don't you girl? Ready to show what surprises we have in store for them? She continued to Cleo who wiggled her fingers with a mischievous grin.

Whitney's eyes flashed when Marchbaby talked about dragon types and steel types, she was well aware how the discovery of fairy types had changed her standing against challengers.
Dragons are no match for Cleo but it would really have made it a challenge for you! We don't see them often here, they are rare to come by, Whitney continued thoughtfully.
She realized that both pokemon had fired up and was ready to battle so she raised hand in the air.
It is showtime! She declared challenging right as Marchbaby gave his order.

Cleo wiggled her fingers confidently and the air became slightly colder, but Vör was much faster and a strong beam of light erupted from her palms and slammed into the clefairy.
Whitney had to leap to one side as the Flash cannon took Cleo through the air where she had been standing mere seconds ago, and slammed her into a large pile of pink plushies that flew in all direction. Several was ripped to pieces with the filling floating in the air.

Whitney half laid on the ground looking shocked, looking between the smashed pile of plushies and Vör.
No! Cleo! She gasped and scrambled over to where Cleo had disappeared and carefully pulled the fainted clefairy into her arms.
She murmured gently to her pokemon while rocking it in her arms, as she had calmed herself as well by assuring that Cleo would be fine, she recalled her and stood back up.

That was really a flashy move! But don't you dare think we're done here yet! Whitney said cheerfully, albeit it did sound rather forced.
It is your time to shine Mille! Let them see you and awe from your cuteness and be impressed by your strength! Whitney declared as she sent her pokeball rolling over the floor, it opened and her miltank rolled out and landed on her feet, kicking her pokeball back to Whitney with her tail.
Mille wiggled her ears cutely and gave a friendly wave to Vör.

Lucario hits clefairy out of the park!
She gains 1250 EXP for realising her strength.
She is already as happy as can be, so she get's no more happiness from it.

Though his Intel about the gym was a bit off the first round had still been a massive success as Vör managed to defeat Cleo without breaking a sweat. The young Lucario was a bit stunned at her strength as she did not think she would bring down a gym leaders Pokemon in a single hit but at the same time she was quite proud of her first victory in a gym battle. It was not over yet however as their Intel turned out to be partially correct as Whitney sent out a Miltank to replace her defeated Clefairy. She was a far tougher looking opponent and Vör knew this would be a true test of her strength.

" Great job Vör, you did great that round. Do not get over confident yet however as this Miltank looks really strong." Vör nodded as she took the words of caution into consideration not wanting to blow her chance of winning her first gym battle without needing help from and of Marchbaby's other Pokemon. They both knew a new strategy would be needed this round as Flash Cannon would not work very well against Miltank however it was the perfect time to let her try out her Aura Sphere for the first time in a gym battle.

" I do not doubt using a Dragon type would have made this battle harder as your CLefairy would of had a type advantage over them, I am kind of glad I trained in more than one type as it seems to have paid off so far." Having no doubts in his mind that Mille would be trained to counter her weaknesses he was glad that Vör was no normal fighting type nor was she as slow as most steel types and he fully planned on capitalizing on both facts as he prepared to give Vör the order to attack once again. Before he gave the order Vör already had a feeling what he was going to say as she prepared an Aura Sphere attack.

" The Black Belt sadly only comes in one color but it does match Vör pretty well, she might not have a feminine look but she sure is a tough girl so I know what you mean about people judging Pokemon. Speaking of Vör it looks like she is ready to go again." After pausing to think of what to say next he figured he should keep it short and simple. " Vör you must have read my mind, use Aura Sphere since your Black Belt will increase its power."

As Marchbaby responded to her question about those belts being in different colors, she frowned at the mention of those karate belts not being in very girly colors though Mille's fierce determination would be shut down as Vor prepared to charge a sphere of aura energy. "Aww... I guess I can make my own belt with a pink color. Oh, maybe Vor can look really pretty with a pink belt, don't you think?" However as much as Whitney's own Miltank was raring to go, Vor was already the victor in this gym match.

The bright sphere of energy was released from the Lucario's palm as it made its way towards the pink cow Pokemon. Mille did not have time to react as she was struck by a direct hit from Vor's Aura Sphere attack and toppled over. She would lose unconsciousness as Whitney sighed. "Mille, you didn't last long, but you get some rest now." The pink-haired gym leader returned her Miltank back into her Pokeball.

"Well, congrats on your victory against me. Take the Plain badge, you earned it along with your victory with Vor! Oh, and take this TM too. It contains my favorite move, Attract, and I'm sure it'll come in handy with Vor." In fact, Whitney didn't feel the least bit upset about her loss. She did feel bad that her own Pokemon didn't get to see much action, but her challenger was one tough customer himself.

Vor has taken Mille out of the ring and earned 1400 exp!


Marchbaby also got the Plain Badge and TM45: Atract!

Seeing Vör score her second victory in a row and win her first gym solo was quite a proud moment for Marchbaby. They had trained so hard together and the fought victory made every bit of the effort worth their time. Marchbaby was speechless as Vör started to celebrate as she could not hold back her excitement before speaking to him. " We did it!, Oh it is so wonderful to win my first gym battle. I am so excited to see what we shall encounter next." By now Marchbaby finally managed to think of something to say as he realized that he was one step closer to becoming a full fledged dragon tamer.

" This was quite an exciting battle, I certainly learned quite a bit about Vör's potential after that marvelous display. Your Miltank would have given me a lot of trouble had it not been for her. Maybe someday we will have a rematch when we both get stronger, I would love to get that opportunity someday." After he accepted the prizes for his victory he waived goodbye before he stepped outside of the gym to plan his next move. Now that he had his third badge he decided heading to Ecruteak would be the best idea but the route to get there would be pretty long.

" Now that the gym is out of the way we should head to route 35 and make our way to Ecruteak City, I remember hearing a bit about a burned tower being there as well as a gym from some trainers in Blackthorn way back, with any luck maybe we will run into some new friends as well along the way." Vör liked the idea as she was hoping to try out her luck in another gym. Before they could set out however he remembered he had promised Atropos the chance to fight in the gym there and he had to keep that promise so he made a quick pit stop at the local Pokemon Center before he left town.

" Ok Honeysuckle I am going to put you in my PC to rest for a bit and let Atropos have some fun. I have a feeling she will enjoy this trip as I feel she will be a big help in the next gym." With his team now ready they set off for route 35 hoping that it would not take them too long to reach the next town so he could train the troublesome ghost.
