...Any by Pokemon I mean the franchise as a whole. Not just the games and so on, so forth.
If I can remember correctly, I reckon i've been into Pokemon since I was seven or eight and seeing as i'm 20... Well. That's a pretty long time. 12/13 years as a matter of fact. I don't think i'll ever grow out of it either. I'm mostly enamoured with the games (Seriously, check my Pearl file, it has about 900 hours invested into it) although when I was younger I was pretty heavily into the trading card game and watched the anime show when it was on.
Viva la Pokemon! ;D

^^ I've been into Pokemon since I was 5 or 6 years old if I remember correctly. I'm 17 years old now and I'm still into it, thanks to this site. ^^ I started watching the show after I stared playing the games. Now that I'm older, I've kinda grown out of the show, but not the games. ^^ I absolutely love playing them.

The one problem (Of many) that I have with the show is that I think it's become too formulaic. Plus, the real stars of the show in my most humble opinion don't get nearly as much recognition as they deserve. The real stars being Team Rocket of course. Jessie, James and Meowth still bring a smile to my face even in the newer episodes.

I love Pokémon. :3 10 and a half years since I got my first game. 12-13 years since I first started to watch the show. I don't think I'll grow out of Pokémon either. I spend most of my time doing Pokémon-related stuff. Yeah, I started IV breeding and EV training my favourite Pokémon about two years ago. I miss the good ol' days. The show has hit rock bottom. I want Misty back! Stupid contests are the only reason they won't put her back in. She was the best female main character (other than Jessie). Now everything is repetitive. They do the same thing with different people and Pokémon. I have tons of examples but I don't want to spoil the show on anyone. Misty, Jessie, James and Meowth really stand out from everyone else in my opinion. They were a lot different from the other characters. May, Max and Dawn are just annoying. I hated Tracey before but now I think he's alright.

I'm exactly the same as Amour. I've loved Pokémon since Day 1. I still have my original game cartridges - all still working perfectly at that. :3 I'm actually planning on buying the entire original series and the first two movies on DVD. I have the movies on video, but they're all fuzzy-looking. Those were Pokémon's best moments, IMO. Maybe a bit of nostalgia but they were my favourites. <3 I still think the rest are awesome too. I just can't get used to the new Voice Actors, even if they have been there for over four years.

Since it came out really. Although I liked the anime before I liked the games --never touched them until... 2005 maybe?-- But It's cool because I was able to pawn silver/crystal off of some kid for a couple of lame rugrats/finding nemo games. Lol. Although I didn't do that until after Buying Firered/leafgreen xD So I did things a bit out of order. Never played Ruby/sapphyre/emerald but I'd love to. But yes. I've liked pokemon since the first movie came out. Lol, so at least 11-12 years.

...Excuse my shock but that's the first time i've ever heard of anyone being into Pokemon via the anime and got into the games so much later! Wow, you may very well be the only person in existence to have a claim like that. To be honest it'd be more interesting if someone got into Pokemon via the manga and then eventually moved onto the games or a Pokemon spinoff not as well known as the anime. Don't worry though, they'll remake RSE eventually.

I got my Red version on the Christmas of the same year it came out... I can't remember when that was. I was a really little girl then. I only got it because Pikachu was so damn cute and I wanted one. I don't think I ever caught one then, so I stuck with the Nidos. >.>

Pokemon Blue was the first Pokemon game I ever got and i also received mine for Christmas. I must admit, upon first playing it my mind literally exploded. I was used to playing simplistic 2D platformers or Game & Watch minigames on my GB but this game had so much more depth.

I was introduced to Pokemon in daycare, when I was 4 or 5. I'm 18 now, so I've been into Pokemon for... 13~14 years now? Here's my story in meeting the show, Pokemon: I went to daycare and one of my friends had a Pikachu keychain on his backpack. I didn't know what the creature was (since pokemon was not like... HUGE just yet), and he told me that it was Pikachu from Pokemon. I just shrugged it off like any other kid after getting the information and only about 2 weeks later, my parents turned on the tv and was flipping through the channels. Then I saw that SAME yellow creature on TV xDD I told my mom that my friend was watching that show so I wanted to see too and she let me, and yea xD Yep, that's what started me and Pokemon. Now, as for the games, I live in Japan. I started with the original ORIGINAL green version *Sigh* so nostalgic.... My parents bought me and my brother a gameboy each just so we could play Pokemon (I had green and he got red) xD

Wow, that's a cool tale. ;D To think it had such small beginnings into a worldwide phenomenon. It's also cool you got to have Pokemon Green as your first game. Of course you're from Japan but you don't get many people here claiming such a thing. I saw some sprites from Green and they looked pretty wacky for some Pokemon. I liked Koffing/Weezings one though. ;D I think my first encounter with the franchise was when I was back in a toystore called Toys 'R' Us and they had this huge walkthrough for the games. I picked it up and looked at it and I was simply amazed by the complexity of what the games could do and all the designs of the Pokemon. I picked it up and never looked back. I got Pokemon Blue that Christmas on the year it was released. Heh, my and my friend used to just sit there in school going through the pages which had 4 Pokemon on each side of the page and we used to call dibs on them. ;D I think I still have the same walkthrough lying about somewhere. I should scan it for a nostalgic grin or two.

I think I probably got into it around 1998-1999, the same time the Attitude Era was going strong in WWE. I was eleven or twelve back then. Basically, my brother introduced it to me via the trading card game since my parents weren't keen on having us play with a Nintendo but were perfectly fine with us collecting little bits of cardboard. =3 He taught me the ropes and stuff. Only managed to play Pokemon Blue for the first time about two years later, and my brother was a little *****, only letting me have the Nintendo if I could somehow manage to have my Squirtle evolved into a Blastoise by the time I reached Celadon City.
