Adding to the not so great last movies seen... I finally watched the new Robocop. Ho boy! Don't even know where to start with that one, though it did make me want to go watch the oldies xP
The next last movie I watched I was pleasantly surprised about how not bad it was in relation to my expectations: Dracula Untold. I mean, don't get me wrong, it had its super lame moments and dumb parts. But overall I really liked how they portrayed and handled the vampire stuff. All of the bats were harmed in the making of that film.

I've always want to see Dracula, but I never can find the time, haha.
Recently my grandma and I sat down and watched Zootopia again. Still an amazing movie!

^ I just read the book Dracula, it was very good. The Victorian Gothic is incredibly interesting and Bram Stoker's writing is so fluid and amazing

Watched 3 films last night. First was Dark Signal. Out of all of these I watched, this was the best one. Fairly creepy in places and there was a twist which was decent. The next one was Backtrack which starred Adrien Brody but that was a snorefest. Last was Pandemic. Not bad, i'd watch it again if it was on. But I do quite like those zombie apocalypse type of films.

Trying to think of the last film I saw, maybe Taxi Driver? It's quite good, an instant classic

If you have not seen Kung Fury, it is an amazingly hilarious movie. You need to get on Youtube or Netflix and watch it.
Just think about it: Kung Fu Fighting 70's Dinosaurs Time Travel Adolf Hitler Cops Thor
It's only like thirty minutes long. Go watch it xD

I went to go see Sing today. It was a really cute movie. The music was fantastic and I knew the majority of the songs. The funniest part had to be when the Koala gets smacked by the Japanese Fox when he tries to talk to them in Japanese. They were so cute and it was such an epic moment to see such a cute critter smack the daylights out of something. I have to buy it when it comes out. Between The Secret Life of Pets and Sing Illumination Entertainment has had an amazing year and I hope Despicable Me 3 is as good as it looks. That is one movie I have to go see next year.

So, I am a masochist it seems. I went and saw the GitS live-action adaptation last night. I could probably write an essay on this film and the various aspects pertaining to it... in fact, I did originally but cut it out because it's too long. Instead, I'll just say "it really wasn't terrible". Not great (not even "good", frankly), but not another "Dragonball: Evolution", like people seemed to be suggesting. I was kind of impressed with some of the finer details that were acknowledged in the film, though, so there's some bias in favour of the film here. There was a LOT wrong with it, but this was mainly a badly written script rather than unfaithfulness to the franchise (though there were elements of the latter, to be sure).
Also, Beat Takeshi can't act to save his life, and Johansson doesn't know what the word "fearless" means at all.

As for Kung Fury it si fun, but I found it a bit too much and weird. I like the music video better, which was what we knew first and the reason we even saw the movie.
The last movie I have seen must be The Adams Family. My little sister didn't know about them so it was about time to show her (I'm working my way through "classics" she hasn't seen. We have seen Life of Brian and Bugsy Malone as well, still need things like Star Wars and Lord of the rings, but we'll get to it in time.)

Kong Skull Island which is a reboot of the various King Kong movies over the years. I liked the lizard like creatures instead of the usual dinosaurs though the WWII veteran character was silly at best. The opening scene where he and the Japanese pilot are shooting each other at point blank range was cringe worthy but the rest of it was pretty good. Kong surviving and the natives not being evil was a nice change unlike most of the movies but I do wish they would have gotten more creative with some of the characters.

Well since this weekend was a wash of headaches I gave up and sat down for the long haul: watched the original Ben-Hur.
It was fantastically done. Great cinematography, good scoring, superb foley, and the performances were pretty good. Overall I was quite happy to say it's well deserving of all the acclaims. Like just... wow... When you feel terrible about a character you are never ever set up to like... that's good movie makin'.
The 4th act was drawn out and probably completely unnecessary but... what'cha gunna do? No movie's perfect.
Now obviously I must watch the remake and see how much of a samey action film they made it... cause that is not at all what the original was.
