The fountain was a masterful display of exquisite craftsmanship and lavish design. You couldn't miss it as you walked along the boulevard of Goldenrod City's entertainment precinct. It stood at the entrance of the Game Corner with its facade of twinkling neon lights. The steady rhythm of electronic jingles, the jangling of slot machines, and the melodious chime of jackpots punctuated the air drawing punters into their version of paradise. Professor Oak stepped forward to admire the ornate masonry and caught his reflection in the pool coruscating with coins and frothing from cascading water. Taking out a single token from his Coin Case, he flicked it into the water watching it arc gracefully in the air. A soft plonk resonated as the coin made contact, creating concentric ripples that expanded outwards distorting his reflection. There was still a few days to go before he needed to be at the Olivine docks so a bit of fun can't hurt, he thought to himself as he walked through the gateway and into the hall of sin.
