Silver's lip was curled in what seemed to be an infinite sneer. This guy had bested him once, but that wasn't about to happen again. There were winners, and there were losers. Obviously, by how far Silver had gotten, and the treatment of others and his Pokemon hinted that the boy thought he was a winner. A purebred, cream of the crop. Battling flowed through his veins, but blood could be shed. Winning was what he was. It was the very core of his being, and he wasn't about to let this kid take it away from him again. Despite the petty, poorly conceived retorts. When it came to a battle of wits, Silver would argue that he'd won as well.

"Not a crime lord, no. I make sure that I operate as far from that as possible. I've got quite a bit of distaste for crime." Silver snorted, obviously offended by the remark. "You're seriously going to resort to petty insults? About my hair of all things? Childish." The red-head smirked, crossing his arms as his Zubat fluttered in front of him. He couldn't forget this kid, even if he wanted to. Despite losing the battle, a mere technicality, something about his... ineptitude just rubbed Silver the wrong way. "Alright, i've had enough of entertaining your ridiculousness. Zubat, supersonic. Obviously this boy's Pokemon are just as confused and deluded as him."

Wavy had just been released, but Zubat was faster. The bat let out a supersonic screech. It was probably a mere whine to the humans, but to Wavy it was a disorienting assault that left the poor Pokemon battered and clumsy. Silver sneered to himself. "You better be ready for what I can dish out." Wavy held strong, and instead of hurting itself as it bounced around, managed to look incredibly adorable. Zubat quit fluttering for a moment, horrified it had raised a hand (er, screech?) to battle against the poor mouse.

Seeing Silver and even hearing him talked made Ethan impatient, as there was just something about that guy that just drives up his patience. He listened to the redhead's replies, and came up with a response as fast as he can. He responded bluntly, "Well, it's good that you don't like criminals, but your attitude is still appalling. Even if I don't insult your hair, your personality is still terrible. Do you have any friends with that personality?"

Then, focusing on the first turn of battle, he watched carefully to see how threatening his Zubat was to his Azurill. "Well, it looks like your Zubat can dish out rabies. You can do it Wavy! Fight the confusion and go for a Bubble!" Ethan jested and then ordered his confused Azurill. He actually hasn't seen his baby Pokemon confused before, but seeing how the Pokemon was actually still cute and adorable while confused, he was glad that he didn't make the wrong choice for getting this Pokemon from Jimmy. Thinking of that kid, how was he doing? Did he get beat up by some Pidgey this time?...

Silver narrowed his eyes while Ethan talked. It was clear that both of them seemed to irk the other. If Silver had a choice, he'd just mute the boy and continue on with the battle in silence. His comebacks would probably feel the same, considering that Ethan's were horrid. "Instead of jumping to insults, howabout we just continue with the battle? You're embarassing yourself. Hopefully your Pokemon will follow suit." Silver growled, simply enough. Zubat fluttered beside him, eager for the next move. With the Azurill confused, it left quite a bit of space for Zubat to 'fly' in and deal some damage. Although, Silver knew that his Zubat wasn't his damage dealer just yet. 

Silver believed in an all out offense, but when dealing with twerps like Ethan, one had to change up style sometimes. Confusion was his best bet right now. "Zubat, Leech Life, if you would. Let's start taking this pathetic mouse down." Zubat fluttered to do it's trainer's bidding while the little Pokemon staggered about. Ethan might have thought it cute, but it was merely an embarassment to Silver. He would never let his Pokemon simply stagger around like this. Zubat enacted swift judgement by biting and sucking a bit of life from the confused Pokemon. 

Still wanting to do Ethan's attack, Wavy did it's best to stand straight and bounce straight. However, with Zubat flying so quickly, and around so much... it was so hard to see... straight... Azurill bounced a few times to ready it's attack, but fell of it's tail and onto the ground with a plop. Silver was silent for a moment, before he erupted into throaty laughter. "OH that's just perfect." The man chuckled, holding his sides. Zubat even seemed to do a high pitched cackle. "Like trainer, like Pokemon, eh?"

Ethan subtly shook his head how the conversation had turned out. After hearing Silver's response, he chose the more civil route, and just continued on with the battle. He won't verbally comment on Silver, but it doesn't mean he won't internally comment the boy. "Fine!-- But you leave my Pokemon alone. You don't need to insult another person's Pokemon for your insecurity. Wavy, you can do it! Try and go for a Bubble again! he responded with confidence, defending his Pokemon. "And you! If you want me to continue with the battle without insult, you should avoid insulting my Pokemon." he added once more to make an emphasis.

Although Ethan wasn't sure if his Azurill would be waking up soon from that confusion. The Zubat had quite an upper hand by inflicting a status on his baby Pokemon. If the Azurill stayed confused for a few more turns and hurt herself, he would have to switch out. He was watching intensely as his Azurill was bouncing around earlier and tripping. He gripped his fist and just hoped that the battle would tip back to his favor in the next round.

Not wanting to give Ethan any leeway or footholds, Silver respected his request, but only for his own personal gain. "Fine, whatever." Silver grunted. His Zubat lacked firepower, and unless the confusion took hold and damaged the rat, there wouldn't be much Zubat could do. With that charm, the bat was practically useless, aside from inflicting the status changes. "Zubat, cross your wings and hope that the opponent's Pokemon hurts itself in Confusion." Choosing to take a more snotty, politically correct route to insulting the Pokemon and trainer, there wasn't much Ethan could say against it. He was technically doing what the boy had requested. 

"Leech Life." Gah, this battle with this runt was taking forever. What if he switched to a different Pokemon? That would certainly mix things up a bit. Silver thought about it for a moment, and planned out his own strategy with a wolfish grin. Meanwhile, Zubat descended upon Azurill to take the command, biting into the Pokemon to suck away some HP. However, with Charm's effects, there wasn't much of a damage difference. Being this close gave Azurill the concentration it needed to Bubble the opponent, but even with taking a head on Bubble from Azurill, Zubat barely looked phased. "Good job, Zubat. That's the way we widdle them down." Silver liked it. Slowly stripping away life, until there wasn't much left but an empty husk. But he'd mix things up soon, for sure.

Feeling a bit cocky - as always - Silver fixed his gaze on Ethan once more. "Why don't you just give up? This battle is dragging on by my own good graces. Perhaps I wanted to give you a shot before I crush you. Either way, I've got plenty more firepower. Zubat was just a taste of status infliction." Silver was genuinely curious why Ethan kept fighting. Here stood a boy of a decent age, and yet he acted like a child. Ethan, of course. Not Silver. The teenager knew what he was doing, and was trying to rile up Ethan to make him blunder or make a few mistakes. Dealing with Ethan was nightmarish. Such a droll person.

Ethan watched with amusement as the battle was... slowed down. His Azurill's Charm had weakened the Zubat successfully earlier, and perhaps the most damage from Leech Life won't be a lot. However, should the Azurill get confused again and hitting herself, he would be forced to switch out his Pokemon, because he wasn't intending to faint his baby Wavy.

"What? Give Up? Why would I do that? Please don't run out of patience already as this battle just started. I thought you were going to 'dispose' of me earlier, right? Some trash will just takes longer time to remove, so maybe you should be the one to not give up yet,' Ethan replied, continuing his blunt replies. He was controlling himself from insulting the opponent, to uphold his end of agreement. Though internally he was thinking maybe the redhead wanted to be a garbage man to dispose people.

"If you have plenty of firepower, then I have plenty of time. Wavy, try and shake off that confusion and go for another Bubble!" he ordered his Pokemon.

The Azurill was still wobbling on her tail in her own confusion, but she still managed to communicate to the Zubat by insult. "Ahaha! You should get a teeth steroid to bite me harder!"

The battle had indeed slowed down and at the rate this were going, was likely to be one of the longest battles in history. The Zubat was hanging tight, shrugging off most of Wavy's bubble attacks and then swooping forward to draw back some of the life it had just lost. Even if it was just a mere slither of health, it was this type of move that would drag the battle out. Silver was impatient, maybe because both he and Ethan suddenly had this none-insult agreement set up. Tapping his foot angrily against the ground, it was clear that the red head just wanted to explode. Being silent in a long lasting fight was torture but he refused to let Ethan get the one up on him. "Hmph, just remember, I have the upper hand with your... Azurill being confused!!" Having to hold himself back mid way from throwing out an insult, he instead threatened Ethan and Wavy with his piercing eyes. Only, the upper hand he thought that he held was about to become useless as Wavy managed to shake herself out of the confusion. "What?!" Silver gasped angrily with a clenched fist, "How did it... Grr!! No matter, I'll just confuse it again!"

Folding his arms, the boy did take a moment to catch his breath. Rage was starting to consume him yet again but he needed to remember, this was just a battle and he was going to win it. This time. "Zubat, whilst the Azurill can see what's going on around it, use Leech Life! Drain it's health more!" Shrieking with a click of it's fangs, the charmed Zubat swooped in with a little bit of hesitation, sinking it's blood draining fangs into the body of Wavy and drawing back some health. With Zubat in just the place she wanted, the Azurill shrugged off the bats body and used her bubbles to shoot it back a few paces. Fluttering madly in the air as it became soaked with damp bubbles, neither Pokemon looked any better or worse than they did previously. Pondering on Ethan's words, even Silver was unsure if he held enough patience to see this particular battle through. Almost considering switching Pokemon, he preferred the idea of watching Wavy hurt herself in confusion until she fainted herself, thus, meant that he had to see this through. "Just you wait. When I win this, it'll be you running off with your tail between your legs. Then you'll wish you would've given up sooner!"

With another round of battle, Ethan almost let out a snicker, as he was basically teasing his opponent at this point. He was teasing with a move that make Silver's Leech Life less powerful. He was also teasing with a considerably "cute" Pokemon. He watched his Azurill managed to struggle a Bubble in her confusion, and enjoyed every minute of this unintentionally slowing down the battle. Though sooner or later he would have to switch out to a Pokemon with more muscle.

"Well, giving up later or now doesn't make a difference.... Wait, isn't it against the Pokemon League rule to just give up a Pokemon battle until all my Pokemons fainted? It would be bad for me to give up now, and make both of us disqualify for the Pokemon League," Ethan was attempting to respond with retort at first, and then realize a problem if he would actually listen to this redhead. Giving up could be saved for another day, like some fierce wild Pokemon.

Thinking what to say next, he quickly ordered his Pokemon to attack first to buy some time, so that he won't be standing there silently. "Wavy, go for a Tail Whip this time! You can do it! Those tiny fang can't beat your cuteness!"

Silver glared at Ethan, wondering why this battle was taking the direction that it was. Ethan had used his head, using moves that lowered the stats of the already weak Zubat, making it's moves completely useless. The one attack that Silver would use to both damage and drain health was barely tickling the Azurill at this point, making luck the only way for him to win this battle. Confusing his opponent and hoping that they hit themselves until they fainted was a bit risky but if Ethan was longing this battle out on purpose, then Silver could only dish the same back, in his own style. Folding his arms, he still appeared quite irritated despite deciding to play along with the trainer's game. He never was the patient type. "Hmph. This is absurd. Clearly you do not have any strong Pokemon with you that can actually deal any damage." Needing to refrain himself from aiming comments particularly at the Azurill, he let out a very grumpy sigh.

"Of course there is a difference." He grunted as Ethan gave his retort, "Time is the difference. You give up now and we can just move on or you can just lose to me later. This whole battle is a waste of my time." While he had said that, Silver did want to continue the battle, just to prove to Ethan that he could defeat him. Especially from their last encounter. His body then flinching backward as Ethan began to recite the laws of the Pokemon League, the red headed trainer clenched his teeth together. "I know that." He growled through his teeth, "When a trainers eyes meet you need to battle to the end. Hmph. I was only giving you the option since I am going to win. You should be grateful that I was willing to bend the rules so that you wouldn't suffer such a humiliating defeat. But fine!" About to order another life draining attack, Silver's words were halted as Ethan gave his own command. Another stat altering attack. Not that it would work if Silver was on the ball.

"No!" Silver suddenly called, "Enough of this delaying rubbish!" Pointing a finger forward, this was probably one of the most civil and actually thought out battles he had participated in. "Zubat, get in there with a Supersonic! AND HURRY!" Nattering it's jaws in a panic, there was too much pressure on the Zubat's wings. Flapping it's wings, it knew that Wavy was about to start shimmying it's tail around and if it wanted to survive, knew it needed to attack first. Sending forth a blast of super sonic waves that rippled through the air, it somehow managed to hit Wavy first, sending her spiralling into confusion. Eyes spinning in their sockets, she tried to remember what she had just been asked to do. Acting almost like a drunk, she went to lift her tail but instead took a trip, landing face first onto the ground. Sighing in what appeared to be relief, Silver's planned had worked this round.

"Hmph. This is absurd. Clearly you do not have any strong Pokemon with you that can actually deal any damage." With this reply from Silver, Ethan figured that he should probably switch Pokemon, but with whom? He held that thought for a bit while thinking of replies to respond to Silver's other comments.

"What?... You still want me to forfeit like this? I don't want to take this risk and disqualify from further gym battles and well, any other battles. Maybe you want to take the risk, but I don't! I mean I am training for Bugsy right now! What happens if the Pokemon League official finds out about this? It will be a bad secret for both of us, so I am not forfeiting now," Ethan responded, finding Silver's response absurd. Even though it was technically just both of them alone in the Union Cave right now, but what if there were spying eyes or spy cams on their battle? He wouldn't want to be caught disobeying an official rule!

Seeing how the Zubat had confused her Azurill again, Ethan knew that his Azurill was hitting low on stamina. Even though the Leech Life was not threatening, the Supersonic would be. He held out a Pokeball to return his confused baby Pokemon, thanking her help. Then, he switched and tossed out another Pokeball, shouting, "Go, Buzz-Step!"

Out from the sphere, a equally young looking Pokemon appeared, a small bodied Nincada. The bug chirped happily as it was sent into a battle, finally something to do! "Okay, Buzz-Step! Use Scratch! Wait until the Zubat gets close!" He didn't comment yet, but he did wondered what would be a "strong" Pokemon in Silver's mind.

As Ethan spoke more about rules Silver was ready to pull his hair out. He was completely annoyed by Ethan and his follow the rules to a t attitude. Silver really wanted to end this battle quickly so he could continue his search for Team Rocket in Azalea town. He had heard they were planning to attack the well there soon and he wanted to stop them himself and maybe find a few strong Pokemon there in the process. In the mean time he had to deal with Ethan and his Pokemon first. " Rules, rules, rules is that all you can think about. People like you make me sick. I do not know how anyone could so blindly follow the rules. The only worse kind of people than you are the ones who join Team Rocket." Silver said as he tried to stay as calm as he could.

As Ethan switched Pokemon Silver decided to take advantage of the situation. Since switching Pokemon meant Ethan had to give up a turn Silver planned to go on the offensive on his free turn to see if it would improve the pace of the battle. "Alright Zubat this pesky trainer has gotten on my nerves long enough. I want you to use Leech Life on that disgusting looking bug over there and I want you to give it everything you have." As Silver finished speaking the bat Pokemon started to approach the Nincada ready to strike. Zubat bit down on Buzz-Step's back as it began to suck blood from the insect. After just a few drips of blood Zubat already gave up as it's teeth could hardly pierce the Nincada's shell. Silver was pretty displeased at the performance as he began to yell at his Pokemon.

" You worthless bat! With such a pathetic attack like that how in the world do you think we will be able to stop Team Rocket? They would laugh to death watching such a weak attack! You need a lot more training if you are to be of any use to me!" As he stopped yelling he heard Ethan order his next move. Not wanting to be caught off guard he ordered a move of his own." As worthless as it is use Leech Life again and lets hope for a more impressive showing this time." Like before Zubat flew over and started to suck Buzz-Step's blood but this Leech Life was even weaker than before. Then just as Silver was about to yell at Zubat again Buzz-Step managed to scratch the bat as it shrieked out in pain and surprise.

As Zubat tried to keep a positive outlook on the battle Silver was very angry at this point but he did not even say a word. He was too frustrated to even comment about his last two attacks and he was trying his best to find a quick way to end the battle.

At first Ethan was puzzled by the comment, and then he realized that the commonality between Silver's abhorrence to rules could be that, Team Rocket members themselves have to follow some hierarchical structures and rules as well. "Well, I am not blindly following rules, but I am just choosing to be safe so I don't get disqualified," he replied, attempting to defend himself from the redhead's comment.

Then, he watched as his newly switched-in Nincada was bit by the Zubat's hopeless Leech Life. With its attack weakened, and with Buzz-Step being a bug type itself, this meant that the effectiveness of the move was decreased. Ethan was both amused and feeling sorry for the Zubat. With a trainer like Silver, he wondered how much self-esteem the Zubat has. The yelling hit home a bit, since he had received some yelling back in Hoenn about, well, finding a stable job. Who knew that the assumption about a music career could be devastating to family relationships.

"So, why do you hate Team Rocket so much? Did they steal your kidney or something?" the trainer commented, trying to distract his opponent by asking about Silver's apparent hatred against Team Rocket. "I mean if they can steal Pokemon, it won't be far-fetched for them to steal your young organs... Or maybe some of your old friends joined Team Rocket and you felt betrayed?" He commented, adding his random idea about why the boy hate Team Rocket as he spoke.

"Alright, Buzz-Step, go for another Scratch!" he ordered his fledgling cicada Pokemon, and the bug buzzed his wings to acknowledged that he got the order.

As the battle between Ethan and Silver continued on with a new twist now that Buzz-Step had entered the fray, they were about to be approached by a very obscure sight. Hopping tiredly through the dark cavern was a figure. All Easter it had been delivering eggs to deserving trainers and it was now nearing the end of it's list. Tracking down a particular fellow, he had been in this cave for a while now so it decided to investigate first hand. It's golden fur appearing from behind a boulder, it chirped to let it's appearance be known to them both. The Pokemon was a Lopunny, it's golden fur and light blue eyes shining through the darkest. Holding a basket of Pokemon Eggs in his arms, it hopped towards Ethan and presented the boy with an Orange Egg. Smiling warmly, it did turn to look over it's shoulder, feeling a piercing stare from Silver. Before he could shoo the Lopunny off with his words, it voluntarily began to hop off now that it's errand had been completed.

Eyes piercing into the back of the Lopunny, Silver glared as the Pokemon hopped off, "Just what the heck was that about?" He murmured before turning to Ethan, "Pft. I doubt you would be able to care for that Egg. It would be better off hatching with a strong trainer, like me." Perhaps somewhat jealous that a random Pokemon had just come out of nowhere, handed his opponent an egg and then ran away after merely looking across to him, it was no wonder that his irritation quickly sparked up again. "Whatever. I bet something weak will hatch from it anyway, I wouldn't want it even if you paid me." Holding her arms and standing at a slight slant, he turned his nose away momentarily. Why did Pokemon not like him at all? Why was he never gifted Pokemon Eggs? His cause was a great one, he wanted to take down Team Rocket. But still everyone stood in his way.

Before carrying on with his order, Ethan's question about Team Rocket struck a cord with the young red head. "What... Did you just say?" His words hissed, his face almost turned to a similar shade of red as his hair as his rage began to build. Was Ethan implying jokes to do with Team Rocket? He was seething in anger at his comments. "I don't even know where to begin. To actually explain Team Rocket to you must mean you're an idiot." Shaking his head from side to side, he was atleast going to enlighten Ethan. "You already know that they steal Pokemon so I don't really have to expand on that. My reason for hating them so much is too personal to tell you, so keep your nose outta my business. All you need to know is that I am going to take them down. With or without help. I don't need snotty nosed kids trying to play hero and get in my way. I'm going to defeat them all, especially their good for nothing boss!!"

No hint at kidney or other bodily organs stolen, he just seemed to have a deep hatred for the group as a whole. Wanting to take out some of the pent up rage, he turned to his Zubat. "And why are you still flapping around?! Go and use Astonish or something!" Shrieking, the bat flapped it's wings forward and approached the crouching bug, crying out loudly in attempt to surprise the Nincada. Buzz-Step jumped ever so slightly, almost flinching from the sound of the high pitched cry but was quick to attack back. He wasn't going to be caught off guard just yet. Lifting it's mandibles, Buzz-Step slashed forward with a scratch attack, striking the body of the Zubat and causing a bit more damage to start rolling.

Just as he thought that the battle would be monotonous with him and Silver trying to be civil, he was caught by a sudden twist with the appearance of Lopunny! A special one who seemed to be doing what it had just do to Ethan, handing out a festively painted Pokemon egg to various trainers in Johto. It probably had amazing tracking ability, or working in pair with Pokemon who could drop off the Lopunny to find worthy trainers, but Ethan hadn't think that far. His arms spontaneously reached to hold the egg, before he could barely shout a "Thanks! LOPUNNY!" as the rabbit hopped off energetically.

The egg felt havy, likely that there would be a Pokemon inside. He could feel the weight pulling down on his arms. Seeing how heavy this was, he knew that he would need to send this egg to incubator when he stops on a town. For now, he temporarily put the egg in his backpack so the weight would be on his shoulders and not on his arms.

Then, it didn't take long for the red-haired boy to make a rude comment about how Silver was a strong trainer or how Ethan would be raising a weak one. The young trainer wasn't surprised by the comment, but he was tired from the opponent's comments here and there. He defended himself, replying, "If you're a strong trainer then I would like to see you defeat all six of my Pokemon. If you do that, then I might just forfeit right away next time I see you." He blurted out the second part, but he would highly doubt that as his Charmeleon had just evolved minutes ago back in the battle with the youngster.

Watching the battle and hearing Silver complained about Team Rocket carefully, he made sure he could hear why Silver hated Team Rocket, except the other party didn't explain why. He exhaled a deep breath of disappointment, and then replied to Silver, "Well, I am sorry I am in your way to defeating Team Rocket. The battle is speeding up a bit, I promise. After this you can get out of this tunnel and go find them, okay?"

"Alright, Buzz-Step, use Scratch again!" Ethan ordered his bug type, thinking that with the NIncada's quite sharp claws, the Zubat would be defeated in a few turns, and then they could move on to Silver's next Pokemon.

As Silver watched his Zubat score another pathetic hit on Buzz-Step the red haired trainer was infuriated by the snail speed of the battle he wanted to scream out of anger. Zubat's attacks were pathetic at best and to make matters worse the bat was losing to a little bug type. Silver was enraged as he looked at Zubat as he knew the longer it took to end this battle the higher the chance Team Rocket would have to escape. He wished he had taught Zubat a few decent moves but for the time being he would somehow have to make due with the bat. As annoyed as Silver was he was not going to surrender or switch Pokemon as he did not want to give Ethan a free turn. As he looked over at Ethan he spoke. " I can easily beat your entire team I was just trying to give this worthless bat a chance to prove itself."

Silver tried to think of a way he could speed things up without having to switch Pokemon but his Zubat did not know anything spectacular and Supersonic was not guaranteed to do anything negative as there was still a chance Ethan's Nincada would be able to attack. " Damn this is taking far too long. Team Rocket will slip past me if we do not get this over with. They need to be stopped and now but of course I find myself stuck in a battle with you. True the battle may be going a little faster now bit it is still far too slow." Silver was beginning to lose hope over stopping Team Rocket's next plan as he had overheard grunts in Violet City talk about there plans in Azalea and the immediate areas around the town. He heard a Rocket executive would oversee te operation and as he knew how good the executives were at speedy operations he had to hurry.

As Zubat flapped it's wings while staying airborne in the same spot Silver was ready to try another attack hoping it would turn his luck around. He did not have many options at this point but as he did not want Team Rocket to escape he had to keep trying and hope his luck would change." Zubat try another Astonish." Zubat tried it's best to scare Buzz-Step by sneaking up on the bug before ramming it but again the attack was weak. Buzz-Step then proceded to scratch the bat as Zubat tried to rest. Silver was disappointed that his bat was doing such a poor job. Silver had a feeling Team Rocket would get away for sure with the current pace of the battle.
