After watching his Marill executed the Charm attack with perfect adorableness, Ethan prepared himself to watch his Marill getting hit again. Instead, the Makuhita also took a defensive turn, and he was both relieved and bothered that whatever move the fighting type just did, would make the next round much worse. Given how the Makuhita did the move, with arms out and battle-crying out loud, Ethan had a feeling that it had something to do with hitting more damage, something to counter Wavy's attack reduction. He would have to see how next turn goes to make his conclusion. In addition, with Marill's low health, he have to keep an eye on the battle and when to change his Pokemon.
"Good job, Wavy! Now go for a Bubblebeam again! Try and dodge from the Makuhita!" he called out the next move, with his arms still folded across his chest. Wavy heard the order and began moving close again, hopping on her legs to reach a reasonably safe distance between her and the foe before attacking.

Vs. Makuhita - - - - - - - - - - - - - Pumped up but still smitten by the rather adorable display from Wavy, Makuhita's expression was a mix up between deep concentration and silly grins. It had been thrown off course by the unexpected Charm, yet still wanted to prove it was a very well trained Pokémon, especially for one who had spent its entire life in the wild. Hearing the order from Ethan gave Makuhita pause, yet another change in the flow of the battle to throw the Fighting-type off kilter. Wavy was quick to obey, bobbing cutely on her feet before sucking in a deep breath that had her cheeks puffing up.
It seemed putting distance between them was just what she needed, her aim true as a torrential stream of bubbles spewed forth and impacted with Makuhita's torso. Grunting from the force of the attack, the chubby Pokémon cleared away some of the water that had splashed up onto its face from the bubbles erupting upon contact. It was still feeling rather chipper, shrugging off the Bubblebeam as if it were nothing, and pounded its fist together before making a dash at Wavy.
Squeaking at the sight, Wavy tried to dodge out of the oncoming Makuhita, but was moving just a tad too slow. Arms drawn back, Makuhita managed to land a staggering blow on the escaping Marill, its follow-up hits just barely grazing her as Wavy scrambled out of danger. Wincing from the pain, Wavy ambled over to her trainer with ears starting to flop down out of pure fatigue, a stark contrast to the still perky Makuhita standing across from them.

Perhaps at this point of the battle, both Makuhita and Ethan were both trying their best to prove themselves. From the tactfulness of the Makuhita to the hard-hitting moves, Ethan knew that this was one special Makuhita. Not that he would catch one, but he knew that he can't just defeat this Makuhita with one Pokemon. Ethan made the decision and recalled his Marill. He held out a Pokeball and spoke, "Good Job, Wavy. You did your best. Return and take a break so you don't faint, okay? And you... Makuhita, you can take it as a win against my first Pokemon."
Then, the trainer did his typical swapping Pokemon thing, and tossed out another Pokemon onto the field, "Go, Ratz! This Pokemon is tricky but go for a Quick Attack!" Out from the Pokeball revealed a normal typed purple rodent. The mouse was actually a disadvantage to the Makuhita, but nevertheless, Ratz was up and ready for the battle. Ethan, on the other hand, was being a bit of a gambler again toying this battle with this swapped Pokemon choices. This move was actually risky, given the energetic boost on the Makuhita.

The strong Makuhita was still not done showing off it's power even after it nearly knocked out one of Ethan's Pokemon. The chubby fighting type was still pumped up from it's energy being so focused as it saw Ethan switch Pokemon. Seeing the chance to get a free attack off Makuhita walked towards Ratz as the fat surrounding it's belly bounced up and down before reaching it's target. Not wasting a moment Makuhita began to extend it's arms as it began to make a thrusting motion. The palms of it's arms managed to hit Ratz twice before he managed to jump out of the way. The attack did do a sizable amount of damage but despite Makuhita's built up energy the attack did not score a critical hit. Ratz reacted quickly to Ethan's command and charged towards Makuhita right after getting out of the way and slammed right into the fighting types belly. The rodent almost ricocheted off of the chubby belly but the attack still managed to cause Makuhita some distress. As it did not want to have to rely on luck in scoring a critical hit anymore Makuhita began to focus it's energy even further reaching a point that all moves would now result in a critical hit. The fighting type was feeling all the more confident as it's energy reached a peak but it was starting to get tired after taking multiple direct hits. Despite trying to keep it's strong appearance Makuhita could not help but to start breathing heavily as it waited for the next round. Makuhita: | Level 14| Health: 25% (12/48 HP) StatusNormal, Attack -2, Critical Hit stage +4 Feeling lucky? Move: Arm Thrust ( 2 hits), Focus Energy

After Ethan had switched out to Ratz, the purple rodent was quickly met with two, rapid consecutive slap in the face by the arm thrusts attack. Thankfully, the speedy mouse hopped out of the way to avoid being hit critically by the palm-hitting moves. Ethan exhaled a sigh of relief, as his Pokemon still hadn't faint from the attack. After that attack, Ethan watched as the little mouse executed an agile Quick Attack. Running with his four feet, Ratz darted like a lightning bolt toward the Makuhita. All feet brushed against the rough cavern floor, until he reached close to the fighting type, and then hitting the Makuhita right in the squishy belly.
Then, just as he thought that the Makuhita would be attacking again, he saw the fighting type just used Focus Energy once more, raising its chance to do incredible amount of damage toward Ratz. Ethan took it as an opportunity, as he may be able to finish this Makuhita and continued finding the exit in Union Cave. "Alright, Ratz. Go for another Quick Attack and knock out Makuhita!" he shouted enthusiastically, exhaling deeply to relax himself from the intense battle mode.
Ratz squeaked as he had heard the order, and then happily galloped into the sunset known as Makuhita's belly. Given where the opponent was standing now, and combined with the sunlight shining through the cracks in the cave, the Makuhita's belly was kind of a sunshine looking circular object.

Pounding it's last fists together, the exterior of the Makuhita had changed somewhat. The previous attack from the Rattata had struck it in the gut, knocking the wind right out of it's sails. Breathing heavily with an open mouthed expression, the muscled Pokemon was finally showing clear signs of weakness. Although it didn't want to admit defeat, the Makuhita had a strange, swaying motion to it's posture. Through it's eyes, it's vision had blurred and with it, Ratz became a much more difficult target to pin point. Grunting under it's baited breath, the Makuhita made a suggestive stomp forward, ready to attack no matter what state it was in. But luckily, the Rattata had speed and that was becoming the key part in winning this battle. Ethan soon called out his order, likely realising that the end was nigh and with it, Ratz moved into action.
Nattering his buck teeth, the Rattata used his incredible speed to bolt to one side, moving into nothing but a purple blur. Wrinkling up it's face, the Makuhita turned to try and follow the rodent but it was already too late. Dashing circles around the turning Makuhita, it took little to no time at all before the Pokemon became dizzy. So focused on trying to attack the Rattata, it hadn't realised just what Ratz was doing. Vision spinning, the Makuhita staggered on the spot, narrowed eyes spinning. Stopping his circular run, Ratz stopped right behind the Makuhita and snickered before emerging from behind it's large body and crashing right into it's gut. Placing a hand onto the struck area, the Makuhita made a faint grumble before slowly falling backwards and hitting the ground with a mighty slam.

Ethan knew that gambling in a Pokemon would be a bad idea, but what did you expect when he's aspiring to have a risky and unstable career? Watching the Makuhita and Rattata, he was certain that the fighting type was in low health. Then, when Ratz dashed forward with a Quick Attack, he was glad that speed was in his favor to knock out the fighting Pokemon in one swoop. Well, two since he used two Quick Attack in total. He was amused at this purple rodent running around the Makuhita as a distraction, before hitting it from behind. The move was impressive, and he also felt that he had seen that somewhere with a certain ten years old and his Pikachu.
After that battle was over, Ethan returned Ratz into the safety of the Pokeball. Then, he gave the Makuhita a congratulatory fist for battling and putting up a decent fight against his Marill. After all, this was technically the first time that he witnessed a wild Pokemon managing to nearly knock out one of his Pokemon. He commented to the fighting type, "You did great too! Have a good rest and I should continue walking in Union Cave."
Walking for another moment, he encountered nothing at all. Not even a Zubat, or the sound of one flapping the wings. Could it be sleeping time? Regardless, when he finally saw the end of the tunnel, with light reaching in the cave as far as they can, he was happy and began brisk walking.
Well, up until another Onix chased him from behind. His first thought was a "Not again." He did noticed that this Onix was a bit different, maybe made of different rock composition. He quickly tossed out his Wavy the Marill's Pokeball, and ordered her to use a Bubblebeam against the rocky giant.

Onix had heard a commotion somewhere in the cave and as it was the alpha Onix it decided to go and investigate. Onix was not fast enough to reach the commotion in time but it did hear footsteps walking away from where it thought the noise had originated and sure enough a figure appeared off in the distance heading for the exit. Not willing to let a worthy adversary get away without a battle the rocky snake began to chase Ethan. As Onix closed the distance Ethan sent out a small blue mouse Pokemon to stop the snake in it's tracks. Happy to battle Ethan the Onix roared in excitement as the battle began. A wild level 15 Onix is ready for battle. As Ethan ordered his Pokemon to attack Onix proved to be a bit smarter than it looked and before Wavy could take a deep enough breath to launch her attack Onix slammed it's tail into one of the surrounding walls causing large rocks to surround Wavy. To make matters worse one of the rocks landed right on her tail causing the mouse to cry out in pain. Onix was pleased with the results since Wavy would have a hard time going anywhere with a rock trapping her tail. Onix was rather confused as Wavy began taking deep breaths as it was sure that the mouse could not launch and attack with it's tail trapped but it was dead wrong. The deep breaths Wavy took allowed her to fight the pain caused by her crushed tail and with a well aimed bubblebeam she freed her tail from the rock. She was still surrounded by the rocks but with her tail now free it was time for revenge. Firing a second bubblebeam directly at Onix she scored a direct hit as the giant Pokemon howled in agony. She had scored such a good hit that it appeared it would be a one hit wonder but as this Onix was a bit stronger than most the snake refused to give in on the first hit and though it was exhausted it remained standing. The snake was relieved to have finally met another worthy foe after searching for ages. Onix had a feeling that the battle was going to be short lived at this rate unless things turned around soon. Ethan wasn't comfortable with the idea of facing an Onix, as the towering height alone looked like he could be eaten, along with his Pokemon being eaten. Thankfully though, he was quick to toss out a Pokeball to summon his Marill, who had the type advantage to fight the rock snake giant. Though what he didn't prepare for, was that Wavy was slower than the Onix. The aspiring musician watched in horror as Onix slammed its tail toward the cavern wall, sending rocks to tremble down on Wavy. One of the heavy rocks managed to trap the water type by the tail, ouch.
Thankfully though, the bubbly water type did not let the Rock Tomb to permanently hinder her. Ethan sighed a breath of relief as Wavy fired a stream of Bubblebeam to freed her tail from being trapped. Then, his eyes followed the second stream of bubblebeam, where the water type attack was launched directly toward the Onix. Although the rock type was still standing, Ethan could see how the super effective attack dealt heavy damages, as the Onix was exhausted and looked tired already.
"Good Job Wavy! Especially for getting out of that Rock Tomb! Now, stand back though!" Ethan congratulated his water type, feeling impressed that she did what she had to do to get out of that Rock Tomb. Then, he reached into his pocket and grabbed an empty Great Ball. He mightily tossed his arm with as much power as he could, and watched the blue capture device flying toward the opponent. He wondered if this would be captured just like that, or he would need to throw some status at it.

At this rate, another water attack and Onix was done for. Although it was having a fantastic fight, and with such a worthy opponent (had typing been different this would probably be quite the different ordeal) Onix was aprehensive at this point that it would be battling much longer. As they rumbled within the cave, Onix did it's best to avoid slamming into the edges of the cave and avoided accidentally hitting the trainer with it's huge, rocky tail. When it's eyes were focused on Ethan, it noticed that the boy was pulling something out and readying it to throw. Was that... Was that a Pokeball?
Ethan let the Greatball fly towards Onix, and before the rocky Pokemon could react, the ball clinked into the side of rock. Instead of breaking, it merely popped open and enveloped Onix in a bright flash of red light. Sucked into the capsule, Onix heaved it's body this way and that, slamming into whatever it could and rocking the ball back and forth. As it shook, the ball held vigilant and it seemed as though Onix was going to have to resort to the life of Pokemon servitude as a trained 'mon. However, the strength of the Onix (and probably the size, geez) was too much for the capsule.
*tink!*
Opening with a little click, the Greatball released the Onix, which immediately began to rage, slamming it's body into the side of the cave to loosen a few rocks at the top. When the rocks began to crumble and fall towards Wavy, Onix quit slamming it's tail into the wall and watched as the Rock Tomb encased the Marill. It was only a minute or so later that Wavy dug itself out and was ready to continue on with the battle. Onix eyed Ethan. What was next? Better not be another ball. Albeit Ethan had wanted to capture the exclusive Onix in the hopes of exchanging the rock type for some more unique Pokemon, after he had watched the Great Ball fail, the idea completely went out the window. Seeing how the Great Ball was his strongest ball right now, he wasn't amused with the fact that the ball was broke open to reveal the unyielding Onix.
"Aww, drats..." he mumbled to himself after the ball had popped opened. Now he didn't want the Onix anymore, and he changed his mind to look for another Whismur instead. Five seconds after his comment on the broken capture device, he ordered his Pokemon to attack, speaking loudly,"Wavy, good job! Now finish up with another Bubblebeam!"
The Marill got her order, and squeaked happily as she prepared to knock out the Onix. Can't you believe that? a small water type fighting a gigantic rock type Pokemon? Inhaling deeply and gurgling bubbles in her mouth, she then opened her mouth and released a stream of bubbles toward her opponent. She hoped the move would connect and knock out Onix in a bubble bath.

Although Onix had managed to escape the Great Ball it was still absolutely exhausted as it tried it's best to drain the water from Bubblebeam from it's body. The snake was still full of water from the attack no matter how hard it tried however and it certainly was not feeling well enough to keep going for much longer. Still it could attack one last time to try and get revenge on the Pokemon that had caused it so much discomfort. Using most of it's remaining energy Onix slammed it's tail into another wall in the cave causing more rocks to land around Wavy slowing her to a crawl but leaving the mouse standing ready to make another move. Off in the corner of the cave a Geodude that knew the Onix had been watching the battle and as it saw it's friend struggle to stay up it decided to go and help but unfortunately it was too slow to make a difference. Even with her speed being minimal at this point Wavy was able to launch another Bubblebeam at Onix and knocked it out. Geodude cried out in terror as it's friend hit the ground fearing that the trainer may have killed it's friend. As Geodude finally reached it's friend the Onix was still alive but it was in a deep sleep from exhaustion. Even knowing that it's friend would survive Geodude was still very angry and punched the same wall that Onix had hit with it's tail in anger. The boulder Pokemon only stopped hitting the wall when it saw that Ethan had still not left the cave. Seeing this as the perfect chance to enact revenge on him for hurting Onix Geodude punched the palm of it's hand with a fist demanding a battle. Ethan realized how much temperament Onix had after he watched the rock type slamming its tail against the wall. He could feel the cave and the ground tremor for a good several seconds before the earth calmed down. Even though two Rock Tombs were moved, Ethan was relieved to see that his Marill was getting stronger, and in addition to that, getting more endurance. Albeit she moved a bit slow after the Rock Tomb, Wavy was still standing to launch an effective Bubblebeam toward the giant rock snake. In a stream of rapid fire, the Onix fell and fainted.
After the rock type fell down, Ethan made a step or two before realizing that a Geodude was also challenging him, especially after seeing the Onix passed out. It was at this point, then , that Ethan realized how he could stay in the Union Cave for a quick while to train up some of his weaker Pokemon. With Wavy still outside her Pokeball, the young trainer quickly made an order, "Good job Wavy! Looks like we're not done yet. Bubblebeam on the Geodude!"
Wavy pretty much know the drill by now, and approached the rock type in close distance and fired another Bubblebeam. This was after a petty insult, of course, as it was in her nature. After she was done, she saw another Geodude approaching, and readily fired off another quick blast of water. Thank goodness Ethan was right next to the Union Cave's exit, as he could use the sunlight outside to see the hiding rock Pokemon better.

The vengeful Geodude was more than ready to try it's luck against the mighty Marill and it's trainer who had beaten it's friend Onix and it was not going to show any mercy as none was shown to it's friend. The Boulder Pokemon acted all tough despite Wavy having a huge type advantage as well as a level advantage over it and Geodude did not even remotely care. Getting revenge for Onix was all that mattered to it and that vengeance was going to happen whether Etahn and his Pokemon liked it or not. At least that is what Geodude was planning on however the reality was far different. Wavy was far faster than Geodude had anticipated and before it could get in range for any of it's attacks the mouse had already been preparing for a strike of her own. Taking a deep breath she sent a stream of bubbles towards Geodude soaking the boulder Pokemon as it cried out in discomfort. The bubbles were a huge weakness for it's body and before it could even launch a single attack Geodude had already been knocked out just like it's friend Onix although the snake had at least managed to do a lot of damage before it was defeated. Just as Ethan thought he was clear however another Pokemon showed up. Geodude: | Level 12| Health: 0% (0/35 HP) Status: KO'ed KO'ed Move: None
Ethan's Wavy: | Level 17 | Health: 100% (56/56 HP) Status: Normal, Wow that was underwhelming! Move: Bubblebeam
Wavy fought well and gained 1 levels. She is now level 18. She also gained +2 happiness thanks to her Soothe Bell and she now has +12 happiness overall. Wavy has evolved into Azumarill!
Another Geodude had been watching from a distance and it had enough of the humans path of destruction. Geodude was fine with battles but when one was so one sided it could not stand them and it was going to put a stop to it." Geodude" The rocky Pokemon said as it flew towards Ethan as fast as it could. It was not about to let him leave without a battle after winning twice in a row now with the same Pokemon. The ground and rock type Pokemon flew around Ethan and blocked the exit not allowing him to leave unless he agreed to battle one last time.

One Pokemon after another, Ethan was basically training on his party Pokemon on the diverse types of Pokemon living in the Union Cave. He thought it would be a great use of his time in Union Cave by doing some training before exiting the cave and going toward the Azalea Town. Well, after all, he was just literally hanging out by the edge of the cave's exit.
He watched excitedly as his Marill fired another one of her Bubblebeam. He knew that his Pokemon had type advantage and move advantage toward the rock and ground type Pokemon, but he wanted his Marill to get stronger. Judging from how fast the second Geodude came out after Ethan had defeated the Onix and the Geodude right after, he wondered if the Pokemon were close friends or something, like relatives, maybe?
Before he could order his Marill to attack though, he was greeted by his own Pokemon's evolution. The water type became taller, and more thicker in appearance. Her ears were also longer, enabling her to hear better. After the evolution was over, he was glad to see that his Azumarill was stronger than before.
"Congratulations, Wavy! Show this Geodude what you got and use Bubblebeam!" the trainer enthusiastically shouted, and watched Wavy execute her attack.
