His hope on that one, regular Pokeball, was crushed, when the Whismur came out and making louder noises than before. He covered his ears as he found the noise painful from such a small size Pokemon. Once that subsided, he picked up another Pokeball again, the same ordinary one without boosted capture power, and tossed it to toward the Whismur. He knew that if the capture failed, he would have to hear this painful noise again. He warned his bug type Pokemon as he watched the normal type was sucked into the Pokeball. Then, he waited anxiously again to see if the Pokemon was captured.

The pokeball soared through the air, the aim was good, the arm that had thrown it strong, and whismur too freaked out to notice and try avoid it. It couldn't go wrong! Or rather, it couldn't if Ethan had done something to weaken the fighting spirit of the otherwise quiet and timid pink pokemon. Now it was a lost cause from the start, a pokemon already high on adreneline and determined to chase away the disgusting bug that was going to poison it and made it feel sick and lose its appetite (arceus forbid it!), was a lost cause from the beginning. The pokeball barely got the whismur to disappear in a red light and closing, before it shattered with a loud snap, and the whismur came jumping out and landed on the ground. Weird enough the whismur stood completely still and with its mouth shut, as it stared at Ethan and Buzz-step, it seemed like it had finally really noticed them. And maybe even got an idea of what was really going on. It took a deep breath, which it's opponent better took as a warning of what was comming, so they hopefully got covered their ears in time. The scream that came from the whismur was even louder than last time and it bounced back from the walls, making it sound like it was comming from all around them. If Buzz.step could concentrate at all in thise sound-hell, he would hear that the whismur actually said something, or rather asked: "WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAt?!"Ethan could see shadows hurrying away in the corner of his eyes, as the uproar frightened other wild pokemon away. If he managed to capture this noisy pokemon, he may would have a bit difficulty in finding another encounter in the nearby area.

Since this was the first time that Ethan was using Buzz-Step, he was amused at how fast the Pokemon had become right now. The bug Pokemon seemed to move further in shorter amount of time. The Pokemon was fast, unlike the current capturing situation right now, where the Whismur was slow to be captured. Speaking of which, he was growing slightly impatient as he wanted to finish capturing this Whismur, and then rest up in the next city.
Sighing, he dug up another Pokeball to toss at the opponent. He could have been using a stronger Pokeball, or weaken the normal type with a status, but he didn't care as he had so many Pokeballs on hand. Also, he wasn't that frustrated yet.

The Whismur wailed, stomping its feet and closing its eyes in a fit. It spat and hissed, voice echoing off the walls of the cave. Its distraction proved beneficial to Ethan, allowing him to lob the Poke Ball at the Whisper Pokemon. Its eyes snapped open in time to see the capture capsule fly through the air, but not in time to avoid it. The Poke Ball made a cracking noise as it landed against it, flying back and popping open. A red light enveloped the small Pokemon, bringing it into the ball. It landed on the ground and began to rock. It rocked to the left... It rocked to the right... It rocked to the left again... The Poke Ball dinged with a successful capture, and a screen popped up on his PokeDex, offering the trainer the option to name his newest capture.

With the Whismur captured, Ethan let out a relieved sight, as it took him so many Geodudes to finally see one again. He should have captured the one earlier. He recalled everyone and thanked their help. Then, he mentally said goodbye to the Union Cave, and making his way toward the Azalea City Pokemon Center.
As he had been in this cave for so long, he knew that the first thing that he needed to do was to eat some food to replenish his hunger, and rest in the Pokemon Center lodge for a good rest, before figuring out what to do next.
