Kaitlyn grinned, her veins racing with excitement. She was excited, yet terrified of the same time. Staring out into the first route, she gulped. Glancing down at Blaze who was currently walking beside her, she steeled herself. As she took the first steps, terror flowed from her body and was replaced with excitement. She was finally doing it. "It's time Blaze. We're finally going to start her journey!" She said with a large grin.

With Kaitlyn taking in the sights, sounds and smells of the lush green route of 29 on this chilly winter day in the first leg of her adventure, it seemed she was neglecting one other dimension to her first steps. It was none other than the sky above. Considering how clear it was, it was surprising that it wasn't more obvious that a lone bird was determinedly stalking behind Kaitlyn. Keeping a distant spacing between them, the Pokemon had been following her for sometime now but was acting largely stealthy for the most part by keeping at such a distance that the beating of its wings were unnoticeable. Nevertheless, its wings getting ever more tired from keeping such a high altitude and for the duration of its course, the mystery avian made a loud growl in the air as it manoeuvred sideways to drop from the air. Speeding up, it swooped past Kaitlyn's head and landed right in front of her. Without a doubt, the first thing that it drew most of its attention to was its brown, pink and black coloured feathers. Tucking in its wings and hopping from side to side before calming down, it became obvious what the Pokemon itself was. Its feathery face, scaly underbelly and rough looking demeanour despite its richly yellow hue to its wing feathers made it none other than a Spearow. Unfurling its wings, it let out a raucous cry as it seemed to throw down a gauntlet to Kaitlyn and her chosen starter Pokemon. Did the bird have some ulterior motive or was it merely looking to make friends? It was hard to tell at this point. Encounter
A ruffian looking Spearow (Level 5) has appeared! Please select a Pokemon for battle. ...Although, things would have to wait at this point. Obviously very clued up on visitor's to the region, it appeared that a special Pokemon was about to make its acquaintance with Kaitlyn. Making her way over out of the bushes with a hop, a skip and a jump, a rather unusual looking Lopunny happily made her way over to where Kaitlyn stood, totally blanking the recently encountered Spearow, causing it to squawk in surprise at being totally ignored. Aware of Kaitlyn's past and the many deeds she had done as a trainer already, the Easter Lopunny dove into her basket full of many coloured eggs and seemed to be thinking over carefully what it was searching for. A few moments later, the lagomorph presented a marvellous purple coloured egg! The Easter Lopunny has arrived! She hands Kaitlyn a purple egg! This egg has been stored in your party for now. Bowing her head sincerely, the Lopunny began to prance off without so much a care to what was going on around it. At this point the Spearow was now fuming and quite peeved about being put to one side. Scraping its talons against the floor aggressively, it became quite apparent it was now looking for a scrap.

Kaitlyn gasped. Seeing the Spearow, she looked at Blaze. "Blaze! Use-" she started only to be cutoff by a large lopunny carrying eggs. It handed a purple one to her before bowing and hopping off. Deciding to put it in her backpack for now, she turned back to the battle. The Spearow was quite angry now, so Kaitlyn decided it was time to get things done. Folding her hands, she bowed to the Spearow before pointing her fire type forward. "Blaze! Use Scratch!" She called. The fire type grinned and charged forward, her claws glowing as she she ran towards the flying type, hoping to land a hit on the Spearow.
Kaitlyn grinned as she watched the battle. She was thoroughly engrossed in the battle, different scenarios playing out in her head. She remembered watching her mom's Lucario fight, his sheer power and speed making everything seem easy, despite the harder opponents that he would go against. It was always a sight to behold, watching him battle. Kaitlyn could remember him easily plowing through enemies that should have taken him down and being able to do it quickly.

It was a curious meeting of personalities. The Spearow that was so angrily flouting itself about was actually very much akin to Blazer's attitude in the fact she would not go down without a fight and was ready to take on anything head on. Such a similar meeting of minds should be a match made in heaven on paper but in reality it was likely to go down far differently. The similarities didn't just stop there however. Not only were there attitudes in sync with the other but their agility was also very much neck and neck. With such a balanced fight, it would be next to impossible to declare who would be the victor at this point. Not really aware of how good a fight Blazer was, the Spearow continued to scratch the floor with its talon threateningly. Hearing the female trainer command a move, the Spearow let out a raucous squawk as it knew the battle itself had begun. Noticing Blazer come dashing forwards with her claws glinting, the Spearow decided it would have some fun with this battle. Flapping its wings with perfectly matched speed, it quickly evaded Blazer's attack as she lunged forward with a swipe. Now floating mid air with a steady flap of its wings, the Spearow suddenly repositioned itself as it dove forwards, its beak pointed outwards, ready to peck mercilessly at Kaitlyn's Pokemon.Jabbing its maw downwards, Blazer let out a small growl in response as she was battered by the flying attack. Bounding off, the Spearow was suddenly grounded from the hit and it seemed all too smug with itself. Swaggering its chest out, this elation would not last. Having missed her chance first time around, the second would not go astray. Pretending to still be hurt, Blazer allowed the Spearow to lower its defences before lashing out with a dead on strike, scratching so fiercely it visibly surprised the Spearow who let out an avian cry at being struck so unexpectedly. Flapping its wings to retreat back a little and create some distance, it was certain Blazer would do everything in her power to secure this victory for Kaitlyn. No flying rat was going to get them down. Wild Battle

Kaitlyn gasped. The Spearow was quite strong, and could easily knock Blazer out in a few hits. Realizing that she had three options in this turn, her mind began to turn as she weighed the pros and cons of each. The first option was the most obvious one. She could attack the Spearow again and hope that she landed a critical hit. This made the second option easier, but it could also backfire. If the Spearow managed to land a critical hit, it could possibly take Blazer out. She could also throw a Pokeball, as the Spearow would make a great addition to her team. The Spearow was still quite healthy however, so the pokeball had a low chance of catching the pokemon, and if it failed to capture the pokemon, Blazer would be open to an attack. The third and final action was to flee, but that would definitely not work. Blazer was quite feisty and the chances of her going along with the fleeing plan was quite slim. There.... Was a fourth option. She could start shooting Aura Spheres at the Spearow, but that would go against quite a few of her morals. The Spearow wasn't attacking someone, or threatening a life so she would be breaking the most important rule she had for herself- Do not attack anything that is not threatening a person or a life. Closing her eyes, she switched to Aura Sight and observed the battle from there. Taking a quick glance at her egg, she smiled softly as the aura pulsed out of it rhythmically. She couldn't tell what it was even though she normally could. Chalking it up to the fact that the egg was quite special, she turned back to Blazer. "Blazer! Use Scratch again!" She called, her eyes still closed as she observed the world through eyes that most people never received. The world was beautiful this way, each living thing gave a different aura. The Spearow's Aura was a light blue, almost periwinkle with flashes of dark pink and red. Blazer's Aura was a bright orange with flickers of red and yellow, giving the appearance that she was on fire. As the wind blew softly against her back, she smiled. It truly didn't matter if she won or lost, she had finally begun her journey. She never thought she would to be honest. She believed she would stay with her parents in the Lucario Kingdom, even though it was not required. She was glad she decided to leave however, because the world was so beautiful. She would one day return to her home, that much was true, but she was content with traveling around. Who knows, she thought, Maybe I'll learn how to produce a Shadow Ball.

Both Pokemon were on equal ground in terms of both power and speed, making the outcome of the battle a close one to say the least. Luckily Kaitlyn had a series of back up plans, ranging from using a Pokeball to capture the avian, fleeing if things became too tight or in the most dire circumstance she could use her powers to support her friend. Whilst the latter was her very last port of call, it would be likely that she wouldn't have to go that far. Blaze was a tough little Charmander and would stick the battle out until the very end, or atleast until Kaitlyn would consider throwing a Pokeball. Claws stretched out by her sides, for now Blaze would continue to battle and would not be giving up. Finding her posture somewhat amusing, the Spearow opposite her snickered. Believing itself to be superior at this point, the Spearow knew that the Charmander had a good pair of claws on her but the feathered fiend knew it could win.
Remaining on the spot, the Spearow focused it's gaze on Blaze. It's eyes narrowing to that of a threatening leer, the piercing stare sent a shiver down the Charmander's spine. Trying to shake off this sudden feeling of fear, Blaze flinched her eyes shut and shook her head from side to side, trying to rid the picture of the scary Spearow's face from her mind. No, she was certain she could win and that was exactly what she was going to do. Showing a bit of hesitance, Blaze lifted her claws into the air by her side, using her feet to stomp speedily towards the perched bird. Leaping upward before crashing back down, she moved her arm in a swiping motion, striking the Spearow who stumbled backward on it's taloned feet. That strike stinging a bit more than the previous, the Spearow rubbed it's wounded chest with it's wing. Next time, the Spearow was going to find and strike Blaze's weak point.

Kaitlyn breathed a sigh of relief. That Leer just secured her win. Her eyes still closed, she took in more information than most people would. It seemed like a small number appeared beside Blaze before vanishing. With aura, she could tell how much each de buff was, something that helped her tremendously. Running a few numbers in her head, she turned her mind back to the battle as she decided what to do. The fact that Blaze had gotten one hit in without the Spearow returning one was quite lucky indeed. Even if the Spearow attacked again, it wouldn't knock Blaze out in one hit. Deciding that she could have Blaze risk one more move, she grinned. "Blaze! Use Scratch one more time!" She called loudly, her eyes still closed.
Suddenly, she felt a small spike of aura next to her, and found an Abra sitting there. It was holding a pokeball and looked at her. It's aura was a light pink with flashes of light blue in it. The Abra looked at her and smiled. It's eyes were closed like hers, but he could still see quite well and deduced that she was the one. "Hello." he said calmly, making it so he showed no signs of fear or anger. As Kaitlyn opened her eyes and gasped, he floated over calmly. "My name is Albert. I was caught by a trainer who decided to set me free. Instead of letting him destroy the pokeball, I took it. I wanted to be able to give myself to someone. I have been looking for a while, and just this battle has shown me that you are the one I wish to have train me. Now Kaitlyn, are you willing to let me become your pokemon?" He asked, his psychic voice wavering slightly. He did not know of her ability to understand pokemon, but he could tell she was a kind soul.
Kaitlyn nodded numbly. She had heard about things like this. Pokemon were incredibly smart, psychic types especially. Some psychic types would deliberately let themselves be caught so they could bestow themselves upon trainers who were worthy. Tears began to form at the corners of her eyes. She never thought she'd have one do this, let alone on her first day. "I will. I promise I will not fail you Albert!" She said determinedly. Picking up his pokeball, she placed it in her bag before looking at Albert. "Unless you truly wish to be in your pokeball, I will refuse to make you." She said with a grin. Albert nodded and hugged her before turning to the battle. "Would you like me to teleport you three to a pokemon center when the battle is done?" he asked, earning a nod from Kaitlyn.

Although it had felt it would strike in the next turn, the Spearow leered its eyes again angrily. Sending a stark message to Blazer, it was clear the Spearow had better decided its strategy would be to be doubly sure of her weak spot before going in the for the kill. It had learnt this message many a time in the battles it had fought along the route but it wasn't going to make the same mistake here. Getting a full blown view of the leer, Blazer could be seen shuddering with a definite reaction to the move. Considering this was their first fight, it was somewhat awkward to go up against a foe which did nothing but stare moodily. Feeling a lapse in what to do, it would be Kaitlyn's voice which would give the young Charmander the guidance to do what she needed. Sounding the command of scratch, the Charmander shook her head thoroughly as she snapped back into the mindset for battle. Swinging her claws to the side, they glint with a reflection of the sunlight and proved just how sharp her tools of war were for fighting. Dashing forward at the sitting duck so to speak, she made short work of the distance between them with a series of dogged strides in hoping to close the gap. Now close to the Spearow, she raised up a claw off diagonally to the side and came down with a rough scratch that scored against the Spearow's body once more, clawing at the proud feather's of the avian's chest. Letting out a begrudging squawk, the Pokemon hopped back and made a bit of distance to try and recover from its wounds. Ruffling its feathers about, the Pokemon was clearly antagonised by Blazer's persistence on the matter. Now it had gleamed enough weak points to strike at, it was highly likely it would attack in retaliation for being so belligerently struck at. Eventually noticing the inclusion of another Pokemon with the trainer, the Spearow turned its beak and hoped that it would not be included in the fight at hand. This battle was now personal between itself and the fiery opponent that was Charmander. Wild Battle

Kaitlyn grinned. That was the opening she was looking for. Reaching into her bag, she pulled out a single, empty pokeball. "Blaze! Come back a bit!" She called. She knew the pokeball would catch her Pokemon, but it could hurt the Charmander if it hit. Once her Charmander was close enough, she threw the pokeball with all her might. As a red light enveloped the Spearow, the pokeball began to wiggle. Crossing her fingers, Kaitlyn watched anxiously to see if she would catch the creature.
Albert grinned slightly as he watched his new trainer attempt to catch the Spearow. While Spearow weren't the strongest Pokemon out there, there sure could be trained to be quite strong. He hoped that she would catch it, mainly because he thought she deserved more Pokemon. As he sat and watched the battle, a thought struck him. Going over a map that said where he could teleport, he realized that Kaitlyn had not been to a Pokemon center anywhere. She had however been to new bark, so he could teleport her there if need be.

Considering most first battles were a test of a trainer's mettle, it seemed Kaitlyn had passed with flying colours not only thanks to her ability as a trainer but thanks to Blazer's impressive fighting capability. Deciding to capture this foe, it would be interested to see just where they were go to next on their journey. As Kaitlyn chucked the Pokeball forward, it soared through the air and found itself dabbing against the Spearow's weary body. Absorbing it in a red light, the Pokemon was covered from head to toe as it was digitised and scooped into the centre of the spherical capture device. Falling to the floor with a plonk, the capture was now under way. Rocking back and forth, it was processing the newly acquired Pokemon. Once... Twice... Thrice...

Kaitlyn grinned as the ball clicked shut. Blazer was quite the battler already it seemed. Grinning, she picked up the Spearow's pokeball. "Ok Albert! Can you teleport us back to New Bark? I know a nice lady there who can heal everyone." She said as she recalled her exhausted Pokemon. Earning a nod from the Abra, the two found themselves infront of the lady's house.
After a few minutes, the three were healed up and back on the road. Releasing her Pokemon from their balls, she grinned. Blazer started glaring at the Spearow the second she came out, and vice versa. Kaitlyn sighed. "Ok! So, you need a name... How about Nagi?" She asked, earning a reluctant nod from the Spearow. She clapped her hands together as she walked down the path once again.
Name: Nagi Gender: Female Level: 5 Moves: Peck, Growl, Leer Ability: Keen Eye Nature/Personality:
Nagi is a very hot headed Spearow who hates having others get in her way. She is impulsive and rash as well, and hates taking orders from anyone except Kaitlyn, and even then doesn't really like it.

It may not have seemed like it, but this time of year was a very special occasion. Likely not something many people knew, it was a special anniversary in a nearby locale where many where celebrating yet another year of a wonderful, tight knit community. Truly, it was a joyous event. There was cake, music, entertainment, a whole roster of balloons even! And therein lied the web that weave the celebratory party to Kaitlyn's own journey. Having attracted a number of mischievous Pikachu to the party itself what with the allure of delectable cake and groovy music, it would be the wide range of colourful balloons that would ultimately seize their limited attentions. Sneaking over from their grassy den and into the party, the group of Pikachu were enamoured by these floating balloons. Their bright, cheery colours and the way they bobbled up, wanting to drift in the air without so much a care in the world. This very sight was enough to inspire the group of Pikachu. Deciding that they too could be just as these balloons were, the leader of the group hatched a rather crafty plan for them to be able to enact such a concoction. Gathering its Pikachu brethren in close, the leader furtively whispered away as it made them all aware of what they needed to do in order to fly free. Walking was so old fashioned after all. With a bit of coaxing, the leader finally persuaded the group and it wasn't long before they set to work. Surprisingly stealthy, they set to work untying the celebratory balloons from their stands and began wrapping up the strings on each others bodies. Quick in their actions, it wasn't long before those that had a number of balloons tied to them began struggling to keep grounded. A few balloons later and the whole group of Pikachu began to lift into the air, grabbing the attention of many party goers who had a mixture of reactions. Some were laughing endlessly at the sight, others checked down at their drink to be sure it hadn't been spiked. Looking down at the onlookers, the Pikachu were all so happy as they soon became ants beneath them and they were well and truly soaring into the air. Now merrily following where the winds blew them, the Pikachu had little say in the matter but they didn't care. All this meant was that they experienced an exciting new adventure. Floating over town after town, city after city, it was amazing just how far they had been travelling. Sadly, this would not last forever. Noticing a definite drop in altitude, one of the Flying Pikachu punch began to lose its grouping with its friends and it wasn't long before the Pokemon drifted downwards to what appeared to be a nearby route close to New Bark Town. Getting lower and lower, the Pikachu let out a few futile squeaks as it tried to get itself to float back up. Much to no avail. Before long, the Pokemon was now where Kaitlyn herself was journeying having just secured Nagi the Spearow. Quite clearly seeing all the Pokemon around Kaitlyn, the Pikachu bought up its hands to cover its face. It knew it was in trouble but hopefully by blanking out the world around it, it would become invisible. Of course impossible given its brightly coloured balloons giving it away but the Pikachu had little other choice in the matter in what it could do. Encounter

Nagi had moved to Kaitlyn's shoulder contently as she stuck her tongue out at the pouting Charmander below her. Even though the two had really only been out for a few minutes together, they had seemed to form a rivalry already. Maybe it was the fact that the two had just duked it out, or maybe it was just their personalities clashing. Either way, it was quite obvious that there was going to be a long standing rivalry.
Kaitlyn sighed at her pokemon's antics. She could tell from the earlier fight that the two wouldn't really get along, but that was ok. As long as they didn't hurt each other she was fine with a few disputes here and there. She raised her left hand to her shoulder to rub her newly caught pokemon's head. Nagi leaned away from the touch at first, but grinned as she leaned back into it, loving the touch.
Blazer gave a snort as she saw her trainer rubbing the Spearow's head. Surely she was important to! She leaned into Kaitlyn, looking up at the girl with pleading eyes. Kaitlyn sighed. "You want a petting too?" She asked, earning a nod from the fire lizard. Kaitlyn grinned and pet her starter on the head, earning happy rumbles from it.
As she walked into the same clearing that Nagi and Blazer had fought in a few minutes before, she let out a gasp. Sitting there was a Pikachu, a rare find on its own. What made it even more rare was the fact that it had balloons on it. Kaitlyn grinned. She glanced at Nagi and smiled. "Ok Nagi! Use Peck!" She called. The Spearow clawed in understanding and took off.

Peering cautiously out from behind it's lifted hands, the Pikachu had secretly hoped that the trainer had simply walked past but nothing was ever easy. Their line of sight meeting, the Flying Pikachu knew it couldn't escape at this point. It's friends had since flown off, leaving it to fend for itself. Sighing in defeat, the Pikachu lowered it's arms to it's side. Maybe the girl just wanted to pet it because it was cute, sometimes female trainers had tried to pinch it's cheeks because of it's adorable appearance. If that was all Kaitlyn wanted, then it would comply just this once. Expecting her to say how cute it looked, the Pikachu opened an eye, waiting for her complimentary words. Only none came and instead, she ordered a Pokemon to attack. Not quite expecting let alone wanting a battle, the Pikachu flinched back in fear. The evil glint in the eye of the Spearow spooked the electric rodent and that sharp beak only spelt trouble.
Trying to kick itself off the ground, the Pikachu managed to somehow get itself into the air but it was only a mere hover. Just inches off the ground, unless a big gust of wind were to come by, the Pikachu wouldn't be escaping the battle. By this point, Nagi had accepted her order and had gone in for the attack. Spreading her wings, the rough Spearow swooped from the shoulder of her trainer and aimed straight for the balloon tied Pokemon. Shrieking in fear, the Pikachu tried it's best to move, managing to somehow swerve out of the way of the first dive bomb from Nagi. Sighing in relief, Nagi curled her beak angrily, making a turn in mid air and aiming for the back of the Pikachu. Now unable to see the bird, the rodent looked nervously from left to right but was unable to turn in time. Nagi had flown forward, using her beak to pop one of the obnoxious balloons, causing the Pikachu to fall from the air and land on the ground with a slam.
Laying with it's face implanted in the earth for a few moments, the Pikachu slowly pushed it's hands against the ground, lifting itself up with baited breath. Looking over it's shoulder, it still seemed to have a few balloons which was good because it was getting used to this flying business. Feet now planted on the ground, it turned to face Nagi, who had since landed on the ground close by to Kaitlyn, her chest pushed outward in pride of her strike. Puffing out it's cheeks, the Pikachu summoned it's electrical power and from it's cheeks came a bolt of electricity. Striking the avian, her whole body shook painfully as electricity coursed across her body. Not looking so tough all of a sudden, that attack appeared to deal a fair bit of damage to Nagi.

Kaitlyn winced. That Thundershock was quite powerful, and she knew Nagi couldn't survive another hit. Oh well, at least the flying-type had landed a hit. Glancing down, she looked at Blazer. The Charmander would make short work of the Pikachu for sure. She began to do calculations in her head, and gave a nod to herself. She had decided what she was going to do, and it was the best course of action. Although, she would have to send Albert in at some point in time, maybe a double battle. Shrugging, she looked at Blazer once again. "Nagi! Come back!" She called.
The Spearow gave her a glare, yet followed her command. She wanted to finish that blasted Pikachu off, yet she knew she needed to follow her trainers command. As she flew back to the girl, she glared at the Pikachu. While it was not Leer or any other move, it was still a glare. She eventually landed on the girls shoulder, still glaring at the Pikachu.
Kaitlyn gave a small groan. That Spearow would definitely be a challenge to train. Oh well. Shrugging her shoulders slightly, she glanced at Blazer. "Ok Blazer! You're up!" She called, her eyes narrowed in determination. As she called this, she pointed her finger at the Pikachu, nearly dislodging her flying guest. She definitely wanted that Pikachu, she would train it up to become as powerful as the Pikachu that was touched by Zekrom.
Blazer grinned at this command. She walked forwards, her tail swinging slightly as to give the illusion that she was sashaying forward. As her blue-green eyes narrowed, she felt heat build up in her mouth. Before Kaitlyn could utter another word, she opened her mouth, tiny flames shooting out of her mouth. She looked surprised with herself, as she had never used the move before.
Kaitlyn grinned as she saw the embers shoot from Blazer's mouth. "That's ember!" She called excitedly. She gave a small clap. "You've learned a new move! That's awesome!" She called happily. She was currently bouncing up and down on the balls of her feet, much to the disdain of the Spearow on her shoulder. The Spearow gave a squak of annoyance and flew off the girls shoulder, glaring at her all the way. Kaitlyn shot an apologetic look towards the disgruntled flying type. She hadn't ment to drive the bird off her shoulder, she had just gotten excited.
