A Shadow of a Drought (Slowpoke quest)

The Rocket grunt was a bit annoyed that she would have to waste time in defeating Ash to claim his Pokemon but that did not stop her from dreaming of taking his Pikachu as she had plans for the little electric mouse. Her desire to steal his Pokemon grew to an even higher extreme as he called out his next Pokemon. Eevee were not just a rare Pokemon they were also know for being a very cute species and she could not help but fall in love at first sight as the fox Pokemon left it's Pokeball. Like most grunts she had never seen an Eevee up close since they were so rare which made this encounter really special.

" Aren't you special having such cute and rare Pokemon? I could do wondrous things with that Pikachu and Eevee. I pity you that you do not have enough common sense to hand them over without a fight but once I am through with you those two cutie pies will be mine. Now are you going to try and attack or just stand there like a bump on a log?" After waiting a few moments with no response she figured that her EKans had scared him too badly to call out a move but she was not going to waste a chance to strike as she had to win this battle if she wanted to steal his Pokemon. Pointing directly at the young fox the grunt issued an order to her Pokemon.

" Ekans I want you to use Poison Sting on that cute little Eevee over there. I regret having to bring harm to it as it is adorable however a bit of pain might just toughen it up for when I take it from this loser." Ekans then fired a series of poisonous needles at Eevee as she stood idly by without an order. Not able to know for sure what Ash wanted her to do she was struck by the tiny needles before quickly recovering from the attack. Looking back at him she was not quite sure what to think. The grunt on the other hand was quite impressed at Eevee's determination.

" For a cute Pokemon you sure do soak up pain pretty well. That is good as thanks to your moron of a trainer I will have to put you through a lot of it before I can make you mine. This next round will be very unpleasant for you I can promise you that much." She said as the next round was about to get underway.

Ooc: We are however it starts from your current teams levels. There was a way to teach moves from gen VI not learned by older generations upon level up however that ended with the closing of the Kalos Festival way back but from here on out Eevee will follow the gen VI moveset. As a side note Ekan's has intimidate so Eevee starts with -1 attack. You are allowed to both switch out a Pokemon and attack in the same post as this would have been a free switch in as you defeated Grimer.

"Uhhhh..." He was hoping to work on Eevee's confidence and have it battle more, but the scariness of that snake just brought her down a peg. Oh he didn't like to just recall her after he had confidence, but her attacks...are kinda lacking at the moment, especially with its physical strength weakened. "...this is just part of my brilliant plan! Yeah, uh....return!!" Firing a laser from his Pokeball to draw back in his Eevee, he grabbed another Pokeball from his belt, "Butterfree, I choose you!!" And tossed it...

BON!!!

"Freeeeee~!!!" The large butterfly was released, happy that it was given another opportunity to show what it can do. Ash only caught it at that bug competition, recently, so it didn't have a chance to shine.

"Alright, Butterfree, use Confusion on that creep's Ekans!! We're gonna beat him no problem!" After all, psychic attacks can totally chip down poison Pokemon like that snake. He's been reading up on stuff like this since his mother wouldn't let him go on his journey at the age he could.

"Plan? What plan? Letting your pokemon get beaten up before I take them?" The grunt asked and laughed at her own joke, she was so clever. She looked wistfully after the eevee as it got recalled and then pouted when she saw the butterfree.
"How boring, I might let you keep that one as they are all over the place," she stated and then gestured towards it with a hand.
"Glare Ekans, and then bite a good chunk out of it," she ordered and smiled maliciously, "it's nice of you to offer my snake a free meal," she said to Ash.
She paused and then looked at Ash with a frown. "Is it me you are talking about? Are you such a child you think anyone with short hair is a boy?" she asked and laughed mockingly, it would be a piece of cake to get his cute pokemon for herself. She decided she would take the rest of what else he had simply to spite him, she could always hand over the useless one to her bosses or sell them.

Ekans didn't move as Butterfree appeared but the flying bug type did see the hatefull glare the snake sent him, and clearly understood all the bad things it had planned for him. He shuddered and his wings began to protest and move more sluggishly, which made him an easy target when the snake curled up and the leaped like a spring to chomp down on his soft abdomend.
Butterfree sent a wild wave of confusion to get it off which knocked into the ekans like a brick and sent it flying into a nearby stalactite where it collapsed.
The grunt looked furiously.
"Get up you useless rope! I want those pokemon!" she shrieked and the snake slowly curled up to try continue for another round.

"Uh oh...!" Butterfree's been paralyzed! That's a major headache, as far as he heard. Again, he's been watching a lot of Pokemon battles online since his mother wouldn't let him start his training at the age of 10. He could just heal him up, but there's a chance the creep will just use Glare again. Should Ash risk it, he wondered? He'll just use Full Heal, and the guy will just paralyze thing again? Will he risk the chance of Butterfree freezing up? What to do?

If you been living in a rock, then you must know that Ash Ketchum always takes risk and never backs down from bullies like this Team Rocket chump. "You can do it, Butterfree! Blast that snake away with Gust attack!!"

The grunt's face darkened irritated when Ash chose to ignore her completely and didn't react to her questions. She had hated to be ignored and seen as nothing back before she joined Team Rocket, and she had joined them to feel empowered and show the world she was a force to be reckoned with. Truth to be told, she got ignored a lot within the organisation and seen as little to nothing since she was just a lowly grunt who hadn't showed to be worth of anything.
But she had the dream of rising in ranks and earn her well deserved respect at last, and it gave her the will and confidence to speak up.
"Hey! Kid! I'm talking over here! Are you so scared you have lost your voice?!" She shouted at him, making her own snake flinch.

"Ekans! Get your act together and get that butterfly down! Don't tell me you are going to lose to such wimp of a pokemon!" The grunt snapped furiously at her snake.
Ekans gathered all its strength, leaped at Butterfree and latched on to him, its weight pulling him down towards the ground. Butterfree flapped wildly and the wind dislocated the snake and sent it flying through the air.
The grunt didn't look surprised at all but she was furious that she had not only lost the battle and the chance of some awesome pokemon, she had also failed in forcing Ash to turn around and leave the well.
"You will regret this!" She snapped at him as she recalled her pokemon and turned to run further into the well.
"Intruders!" She shouted out a warning to whoever would hear.

"YEAAAAH!!" Ash cheered, ecstatically satisfied to show up a Rocket creep, and scare her off...and that his Pokemon showed that they're stronger than these goons.

"Pika!!/Oeee!!" His Pikachu and Eevee happily chirped, happy for another victory...

"Freee...eee..." But Butterfree could barely cheer through his numbed body.

"Oh no, Butterfree!!" Right, that Glare paralyzed him. Hoping he has something to remedy that, Ash searched his bag, "Ah ha!" And pulled a Potion and a Full Heal. "Hold still, Butterfree." He then sprayed Full Heal on the bug, and then healed up his wounds with Potion. "And there you go."

Ash used Full Heal and Potion on Butterfree.

"Freeee~!" Feeling its body loose and fresh, Butterfree danced around in the air.

"Hahaha! You did great, buddy." Holding up two Pokeballs, "Return!" And recalled Eevee and Butterfree. "Let's go, Pikachu!!"

"Pika!" Leaping back onto his shoulder, Ash hurried through the cavern halls, not even once thinking of any precaution. He just want to get to the hostaged Pokemon's safety and drive Team Rocket out as fast as he could.

It took some time before the warning from the other Grunt got any reaction and yet another Grunt came to throw this nosey kid out.
She walked with confidence and had an arrogant look on her face, she was not at all surprised to see Ash or his pokemon as she had been smart enough to get a briefing from the other grunt on who it was who had appeared.
She had a murkrow with her who was keeping close to her, mostly to avoid flying into the low ceiling as the well wasn't really fit for birds like it.

"Stop right there brat!" She ordered and raise a hand to empathies her words.
"Last chance to turn around and save your own skin, this is no place for a kid," she said coldly and was willing to give him one chance to give up. She didn't care for what pokemon he got, she lived and breathed for the organisation and was fine with whatever they assigned her. They were usually good strong pokemon which she could use to fulfill her role and help Team Rocket reach their goals.
She was confident in her superiors knowing they could trust her and working hard in not breaking that trust. She would handle Ash no problem and he would quickly be forgotten.

"Whoa/Pika!" Ash and Pikachu yelped when the girl grunt stepped in their path. Ash barely skidded to a halt, then scowled in annoyance at her. "No, you get out of the way---erm, I mean, you turn around! Yeah...!" Retorts aren't his forte, especially when he dealt with the likes of Gary. But he does have his moments when he doesn't think of it too much. Anyways, if Team Rocket knows he's here, then maybe they'll try to run away with the Pokemon they stolen. He can't waste time...playing Mr. Fair and Square. Like with Falkner, Ash likes to try not to rely on Pokemon who are super-effective against a certain type he's facing. A way of respect and politeness, and to make things challenging.

But these guys don't deserve that, do they?

"Take her down, Pikachu! Electro Ball, now!"

"Pika!" Bout time Ash decided not to play games with these losers. "Chu!!" Springing off his shoulder, Pikachu surged electricity from his cheeks to his little paws, forming into a ball almost as big as he. "Piii...!" Tossing it up, he caught it with his tail, "CHU!!" And hurled it at the crow.

The grunt raised an eyebrow at Ash's poor attempts to talk back, he did not impress her at all. Unfortunately the kid had enough guts to stay around and not turn tail and flee and the grunt rolled her eyes of his stubbornes. What was it with young trainers and their desire to act like they were heroes?
"You choice, but you will regret it," the grunt said with a shrug and with a flick of her hand ordered her bird forward. The murkrow was flapping awkwardly to keep airborne but still avoid bumping into the ceiling, it looked rather nervous over its opponent but it didn't dare to back down. There were things which was much worse than losing a battle to an electric type, at least here it would have a good excuse.

A frown appeared on the grunt's face when she realized Pikachu was going to battle her bird, that didn't seem promising.
"Pursuit!" She barked as order and the murkrow picked up speed.
Pikachu was incredible fast and pretty powerfull too, he quickly gathered the needed electricity with sparks dancing from him as he leaped off Ash's shoulder and sent the ball flying at his opponent.
The murkrow cawed scared and tried to dodge but the limited space didn't help it and the ball exploded in a flash and crackle and threw it into the ceiling. Pebbles fell down and dust filled the air as the murkrow fell like a rock, but just in time it opened its wings and soared up again, brushing the ground as it passed it. It was well trained and needed more than a single attack to take it down, even if it was an electric one. It rushed after Pikachu who was running back to Ash and threw him into the dirt, before it flapped back to its own trainer.

The grunt didn't seem like she was paying the battle any attention anymore, she was urgently speaking into some device as she was walking away. When she noticed Murkrow followed pointed back towards Ash and Pikachu as she wanted it to stall them as long as possible, but she new where this battle was going and she didn't care what it meant to the bird.
Murkrow flapped back disheartened and did its best to stand in the way for Ash and Pikachu to give Team Rocket time to do what they were planning, or perhaps get something stronger to deal with Ash?

"Aw man!" He totally was expecting Pikachu to take it down in one shot. But that Pokemon still standing and retaliated with a good shot. "Pikachu, are you okay?"

"Pika," the little rodent grunted, standing back on his fours. That little crow took him by surprise, but he still got plenty of fight left. This fight is done.

Still Ash rather this went down in one hit. If only he found the fabled Light Ball. He heard stories about that little item that doubles the power of a Pikachu. Man, if only he could find it, then Pikachu would be unstoppable. But, it is what it is, and Pikachu is plenty strong without one. He'll win this easy.

But Ash was annoyed how that mean woman just ignore her Pokemon and talked on her phone. Just because she's losing doesn't mean she has to leave her Pokemon alone in a battle. That's disrespectful to your opponent and your Pokemon.

"Hey, eyes right here, lady!" Well if she's not going to pay attention, then it's her loss. "Pikachu, one more Electro Ball, now!"

The red-headed grunt wondered around in the background as she continued to talk into the device. “Don’t let those idiots come here. They’ll only mess things up.” The nodded her head, seemingly listening to something another person on the other line was telling her. She kept her voice low and in a hushed voice as she gave away different types of correspondence, doing her best to answer some questions that must have been asked of her. This kid was proving to be rather difficult, and she knew it was better to have the issue phoned in sooner rather than later. This Pikachu had the type advantage, so it was no wonder that the electric yellow mouse was able to fire off such impressive balls of energy that nearly took her Pokemon out.

The black bird soared up high into the air, keeping just below the long stalactites and stalagmites that dangled from the rooftop of the cavernous well. “Oh, use the best move you have!” She commented in a rushed voice as the crow called out to its trainer to see if she would aid it at all in the battle. Cannon fodder. That’s all that the Murkrow was being used for – pure cannon fodder. The bird glared at the electric mouse as the Pikachu prepared another electrical ball of energy and fired it off. “Wait, hold on.” She lowered the device and turned to the kid with a sharp glare as the electricity hit her bird head on and dropped it to the ground just as easily. “You got somethin’ to say kid? Then say it to my superior, my time is up!” She laughed, tossing out a bunch of cash on the ground. The grunt recalled her Pokemon and immediately sped off down the Slowpoke Well, obviously off to warn the others of Ash’s approach. Feet could be heard coming from the distance, letting Ash know that there was yet another Rocket member heading his way…

"Oh you bet I will!" Ash challenged, angry that the woman just ran off like a chicken. These Team Rocket jerks are just nothing but bullies...and thieves. He has to remember why he's here; they're taking Slowpokes and cutting their tails to sell them as food. That is just so...gross. Thinking about people eating Pokemon makes him sick to his stomach. Ash always tries to not think about where meats and stuff come from. He rather not know.

"Pi," his trusted rodent grunted, feeling a little bruised. He really should've been able to take down that crow in one shot, but he just let it land a hit on him. Boy, if only he had a Light Ball. That be a great Christmas present.

"C'mon, Pikachu. Their boss is coming." Taking out a purple spray bottle, he quickly sprayed the whole medicine all over Pikachu's body.

Ash used Potion on Pikachu

"Pika!" the mouse chirped, feeling nearly better. Well, he's not a 100%, but he should suffice enough to take on whatever threat is coming their way.

"Alright. Whoever's in charge of this crummy operation, we're gonna take it down." Despite the next Rocket approaching, Ash wasn't one to wait. He takes them head-on. So, grabbing his Pikachu onto his shoulder, Ash charged off to the next challenger.

The Team Rocket executive stands waiting on his new opponent. He been observing the proceedings from a monitor. Team Rocket is wise to set up cameras along the tunnel to watch for any slowpoke and any unwelcome visitors. It looks like this kid in the red hat is one of those visitors. This kid was able to beat the weaker grunts but Proton knows he wont' lose to someone like this.

It looks like Team Rocket needs to up its training program or the trainers out there now are a bit tougher than when I started. It doesn't matter because this kid will lose the moment he faces me. No one will stop us from getting what we came for. This kid doesn't realize who he is dealing with but he will soon learn.

Executive Proton is still deep in thought he decides to approach with his koffing and zubat out towards the intruder. Once he sees the kid, the koffing takes the front position.

"So you are the one who been causing the trouble down here. Why did you have to come down here in the damp cool tunnel? We were leaving you alone. You probably too stupid to realize the value of these tails on the black market. We also have a totodile who was sticking its nose in our operation. Maybe you will give me your Pokemon as payment for all the fuss you have given us. IF you do that, I might let you walk out alive. The other option is I beat you and still take your Pokemon."

So this is the guy, huh? Yeah, he looked like the type who didn't care about how Pokemon felt about being used like this, having their tails chopped, and even locking them in cages. Say what you want about Pokeballs, but they keep them comfortable...and even keep them alive. One time, he heard this guy had this Pokemon he played with in preschool and left it behind. When he came back to that preschool as an adult to find the Pokemon, it was still alive, like it never aged a bit.

"Well, you sure aren't leaving these Pokemon alone, you jerk! And I'm gonna make sure you will!" After all, the famed trainer of Pallet Town defeated these guys years ago. Since he's also from Pallet, it's only fitting for Ash to finish the job...or at least help these Pokemon. He doubts he'll see them again HA. "My Pokemon won't go down without a fight!" Tossing a Pokeball, "Go Charmeleon!!"

BON!!

Blasting out of the Pokeball came the fiery lizard himself, growling at the gas creature. Though he was itching for a fight, he wished it was for a challenge, he was sent out. "Cha...!"

"Charmeleon, use Flamethrower!!"

So the lad had a powerful Charmeleon as his side to help him try and win his fights? Executive Proton sized up the kid carefully as his mind mentally went over their future battles and he carefully moved his eyes to study the surrounding cave for the best vantage points. His Pokemon were able to float of fly, which gave them the advantage of the high ground and would afford them some cover. Charmeleon were known for their impressive fire attacks and were quite the heavy hitters when it came to their specialized attacks. They had a pretty good, specialized defense as well, though their regular defense wasn’t exactly the best…

In contract, his Koffing had an amazing regular defense but left a lot to be desired of its specialized defense. “Koffing, you need to be careful of this lad’s Charmeleon. I don’t know how well you can withstand his attacks if he packs a lot of specialized move sets. Used the stalactite and stalagmites to your advantage and float around them as you need to try and dodge his attacks, ok? Keep the high ground and watch out for his flames.” He warned his Pokemon. The floating poisonous meteorite growled out with a wide, innocent grin plastered over its face as it acknowledged its trainer’s command. “Koffing koffing!” It promised and floated up as high as it could without hitting the roof.

“I don’t expect a mere child to understand what we’re doing or why its important.” Proton seemingly waved off Ash’s retort with a gloved hand. “Koffing use Sludge! Let’s try to poison his Charmeleon.” The child had chosen to fight – a fight that he would inevitably lose one way or another – and have the Executive steal his Pokemon the hard way. “I’m sure a Pokemon as rare as a Charmeleon will fetch a nice price on the black market.” The Pikachu? Probably not as much. And the Butterfree? He was better off freeing it. Yes, Proton already knew about some of the Pokemon Ash had used in previous battles thanks to the cameras he had hidden in the well. Charmeleon attacked first, unleashing a powerful shot of flames one after the other as the Koffing floated around the stalactites and tried to dodge the hot embers. When the flames finally caught up to the floating orb it was a in impressive and critically hitting blast that immediately knocked the Pokemon out in one attack.
