Yesterday had been truly an eventful day. She had only meant to escape from the hustle of the city by venturing out to a more scenic diversion. The little exploration had turned into a full fledged quest trying to sort out a number of rowdy Houndour while not forgetting a number of friendships she made along the way. Having retreated back to a room boarding the night at a local Pokemon Centre, she woke the next day with some revitalised energy. She had stopped off at New Bark and done her errands and now it was the task of returning back to Violet on foot, hopefully gaining some experience first hand as a trainer. If she wanted to be able to surpass Falkner's challenge, she would need to open up her view of a trainer's world. Moving along the route just above Cherrygrove, she looked around with a cheerful contemplation. She didn't mind the torrential rain from yesterday, far from it, she may have even enjoyed it but this illustrious sunshine right now was incredible. " You seem perkier than usual Gex. It must be all this incredible sunlight. I don't think I can remember it ever being as hot as this... I suppose if it ever gets too much we can go for a swim. I don't think i'd say no to retracing our steps back to Cherrygrove and taking a nice swim in the sea. Phew." Watching as he proudly strode along with a definite swagger to his steps, she felt herself pick up her feet as she followed along. " If I remember correctly, we need to follow this winding route and then head off westward and we'll be back in Violet. I wonder if we'll somehow immerse ourself in anymore excitement today." As if jinxing herself the moment she commented on today being eventful, she stopped and looked off ahead. Noticing a youthful teenager with maroon colour hair, she would recognise that person anywhere. Realising it was the aggressive teen she had met sulking outside of the New Bark lab, she almost forgot his name but remembered visualising his face and recalling the eerie silver eyes he bore. " SILVER!" She cried out at remembering his name. Not quite realising that he wasn't the type to stop and chat, Remi was hopefully not so naive she would fail to realise she may have just dropped herself into a fight.

Route 30- - - - - - - - - - - - With his back to Remi, it was clear Silver wouldn't notice her presence on his own. Infuriated with the lack of decent trainers lurking around Route 29, having curb-stomped most of those he'd come across, the teenager had come exploring the outskirts of Cherrygrove instead. While Remi had been off having quite the adventure, Silver had been stuck searching fruitlessly for strong Pokémon to add to his team, all but striking out aside from one lone Zubat who'd had the misfortune of flying into him. What he really wanted was one of those Quagsire that lived nearby, but he knew his Chikorita wouldn't be able to successfully challenge one at her level even with a big type advantage. And with the interminable weather driving many Pokémon to seek shelter from the heat, he was stuck. Scowling angrily, Silver let out a frustrated roar, sending a small herd of Mareep dashing away with terrified bleats.
Hearing his name called, his head snapped round so fast it was a wonder he didn't develop a crick from it. Almost no one knew his true name, and the owner of the voice was instantly recognizable and made his sour expression darken considerably. "You!" Silver seethed as he whirled to face Remi properly, recalling his disgraceful defeat at the behest of her Treecko friend. She was the last person he wanted to see, especially so soon. "Come to gloat over how you cheesed your way to a win last time?" Eyes sparking with fury and hands clenched at his sides, it was obvious his personality had not softened up in the slightest. Attention shifting to Gex, the recognition took a moment to sink in, this time drawing a sneer forth.
"Oh look, your precious buddy evolved. Was it through the 'power of unbreakable friendship'?" Silver inquired caustically, shaking his head hard enough to throw his crimson hair into disarray. "Feh, as if I really care. There's nothing to do on this stupid route anyways, so I might as well vent some frustration out on you. I'm not going to lose like last time!" he vowed, drawing out a Poké Ball from the pocket of his pants, sending it flying with a quick toss. Emerging in a flash of light was his new Zubat, a questioning screech making it out before Silver silenced it with a snap of his fingers. If he was going to use this annoyance of a Pokémon, it might as well start learning that he had little patience with... well, just about anything.
Attention!
Silver has challenged you to a battle! He sends out Zubat (Level 8!)Please choose a Pokémon to fight with. The heat wave is inducing a Sunny Day effect in battle!

Pulling bit of a unsettled look, she did her best to dismiss her surprise at his belligerent response to his name being called. It had been sometime since they last spoke with one another and because of this, Remi's mind had likely softened over how harsh and abrasive he could be. "Yes, it's me, Remi. How ar-" Cut off as he launched into bringing up their confrontation from last time, she shook her head quickly as she hoped to try and dispel some of his rage. "Oh, no, no, no. I just thought we could cat-" Angrily bounding off onto another tangent once the sight of Gex's new evolved set in, Remi had no chance at all to speak as Gex pushed out from her side and stepped forward in a rather antagonised manner. He had not forgotten how Silver was and wouldbe more than happy to wipe that sneer from his face. Grabbing Gex's raised arm, Remi reigned in her Pokemon as Silver finally finished off venting the anger he had encountered on this route of nothing putting up a challenge. Watching as he inevitably sent forward a Pokemon, Remi waited to see what sort of Pokemon it was. With how harsh the heat wave, it was difficult to try and focus but it appeared to be some sort of bat creature. "Oh my, you're still as headstrong as ever." Looking to Gex, she nodded her head firmly.
"Please hold back. Should I need your help i'll let you know." Leaning in a little closer out of Silver's earshot she explained a bit further. "I don't want to show him up too badly." Despite being a complete rookie herself, she knew the last few adventures she had wound up on had toughened her Pokemon to the nth degree. "If you're so keen on fighting again, I suppose we have no choice." Grabbing a Pokeball carefully, she refrained from sending the Pokemon straight out. "I do wonder though... You seem so aggressive still. Is there anything you would like to talk about? I'm asking as a familiar face you can confide in." Unsure on whether he would bother, she tossed forward the Pokeball revealing the snooty Horsea. Impacted somewhat by the sizzling heatwave, Remi had the perfect idea to cool them all down. "Neptunia! Please fire off that icy cool beam again! That'll help chill us all out." Rolling her eyes, the Pokemon wished she could at least get the name of the move right. She was half tempted to disobey but given how sweltering it was, it was in the Pokemon's best interest. Turning to look at its target, Neptunia would wait to strike an Ice Beam at the perfect moment giving how frenetic the bat's movements were.

As the Sun beamed down upon them, both Pokemon in the center of the battle seemed to show a bit of discomfort. A little bit of extra effort would be required to make sure their attacks were accurate; the shining rays were good at bolstering fire Pokemon, but also assisted in burning the eyeballs of anyone dumb enough to go outside. The sweltering heat was difficult to focus in and this day had already not gone in Silver's favor. The arrival of the same girl that had squeezed past his defenses only irritated the boy more. And, of course, broadcasting his name to those around the route (thankfully nobody was near to hear) didn't help.
"A familiar face to confide in? The only thing I want to do to your face is not see it again!" Silver growled, turning his attention back to his own flying Bat. "Zubat, let's start off with a Supersonic." Attempting to screw with the Pokemon's accuracy as well as their ability to attack seemed to be the right move, despite the fact a water attack would feel incredible right now. "You're far too chipper. Have you thought about simmering it down for the sake of others? I bet you're a morning person." He spat. Those were always the worst.
As annoyed as Neptunia was, the 'icy cool beam' seemed to be the best move for the battle at this point. It didn't take much time for the tiny Horsea to charge up the power before shooting an icy gale from her small lips. Suspended in place by the force of the icy beam, Neptunia slowly ceased the beam and fell back down onto the ground. When the sun allowed Neptunia to see across the field, Zubat was nowhere to be found. Shifting her sights down, she saw the bat in a crumpled heap on the floor, with a few icy bits of snow crusting Silver's eyebrows and bangs. "... Wh... what?" Silver's Zubat - Level |8| Health: 0/26 Current Status: ..... No Attack! Sunny Day is in effect!Remi's Neptunia - Level |12|
Health: 32/32 Current Status: Too hot? Nah, too cold! Successful Ice Beam!
Neptunia shot some ice and killed the thing in one shot. Dunno how else to describe it. OBLITERATED. For her efforts, Neptunia gains +2 levels and +1 Happiness! (Neptunia is now Level 14, with +2 Happiness!)
"You wouldn't even remember your own head if it wasn't attached to your shoulders! How in the hell did you get a Pokemon with a move like that? Of all the people..." The flabbergasted teen didn't even seem angry that his Zubat had been fainted. The pure shock that the novice trainer Remi had managed to trounce him so horridly overweighed the aggression that Silver normally felt. It was probably a relief, not being mad for a brief moment. However, reality set back in and Silver returned his Pokemon before brushing the snow and ice off his face. "I can't believe this..." He growled to himself, releasing his timid Chikorita out into the field. "Of all the people..." He repeated once more. Silver sends out his Chikorita! (Level 12) Will you switch Pokemon?

Letting out a somewhat disappointed chuckle, it was all too clear this teen known as Silver was going to keep up his defences and not attempt any sort of building with her. His fiery antics as well as his aggressive streak were all too similar to someone she treasured deeply as a friend. Silver was a familiar face in more ways than one. Her disappointed chuckle turning into something of a kind giggle, she looked up as she brushed aside Silver's jabs at her reappearing. "You are exactly like a friend of mine I knew who lived in Goldenrod. I know not where he is these days but you're like his younger brother." Abrasive and also similar hair colours, it was perhaps some sort of recurring archetype that Remi came across. The moment she bought up this old friend of hers, Gex lowered his glass, his mouth agape. For whatever reason, he had not seen it until then. Turning to Gex with a polite smile, she laughed again. "I see you think so too." Sighing, she wished she knew where he was. Her friend irrelevant at this point to Silver, she responded to what he attempted to jibe at her with. "Mornings are nice, yes." Realising it was bound to aggravate him further, she decided not to press too much on how much she loved getting up at sunrise to start the day.
Their exchanges coming to an end, their Pokemon faced off. Given Neptunia wasn't exactly Remi's own Pokemon, rather given to her in a confusing exchange, it meant she wasn't all too aware of just how powerful this Horsea was. She had a true pedigree, that much was certain. Completely laying onslaught to the frenzied Zubat, Remi bobbed her head from side to side with a playful sway as she noticed Silver's apparent confusion. "That attack is really amazing. Excellent work Neptunia!" Sniffing her nose the other way with a distinct show of snobbery, there was a subtle smile that could be garnished from Neptunia's expression. She wasn't all too aversive to a bit of praise. At that point, Silver spat out, enquiring how exactly she came into possession of such a Pokemon. His words were enough to remind her of part of the reason why she was undertaking this journey. "Oh! I'm glad you asked that. If anything, you might be able to help." Going a bit further, she recalled the thieving rogue who had planted the Pokemon on her. "I bumped into this biker... A purple bandanna he wore. Smelt a little weird. He seemed nice enough but he planted all these stolen Pokemon on me." Still going by her massive leap in logic, it was apparent Remi was unaware of Joey's true character. "I had seen a wanted poster of this thief and it seems it confirmed my suspicion. I even met another who confirmed as much what he was up to." Shaking her head, she extended out a gestured hand to Neptunia. "So for the time being, i'm caretaking this Pokemon. Travelling far and wide until I can find the Pokemon's true owners. He tried passing off quite a few..." Trailing off, she decided it was worth a shot asking Silver.
"I don't suppose in your travels you came across anyone missing any Pokemon?" Unaware Silver was just as bad, if not worse than Joey, it spoke a fair deal of Remi's naivety. She was a just girl but oh so easily duped. Watching as he sent out another Pokemon, she allowed him time to respond to her tale as she nodded her head keenly at Neptunia. "It's okay, you can carry on Nep. That last shot cooled me down some at the very least." Still faltering on the premise of type match ups, it was something Gex was aware of but bit his tongue in the hopes nothing too bad would befall Neptunia. If worst came to worst, he could always jump in and trounce the little blighter like he did last time. "Awww, it's your adorable lil' Chikorita again. Hello there! How are you doing?" Noticing the heatwave was as intense as ever, Remi nodded her head. "How about a cool, icy beam again?" Squinting her eyes with some chagrin, Neptunia let out a huff of her cheeks at being so terribly commanded. Her previous trainer was a complete and utter slave driver but she at least didn't mince her attacks. Deciding that it wasn't for the best to muck around up against this feisty Chikorita, Neptunia turned and with another round of concentration waited for opportunity to fire off another Ice Beam.

"Why on earth are you rambling to me like that? If I had seen stolen pokemon or someone like that I wouldn't have cared anyways. It's your problem, not mine." the snot nosed red head sneared as he seemed to be frustrated, this girl was simply out of his league and she didn't seem to care to give him a chance in fighting this battle. It was like she knew he had been coming all along. Either way he had a feeling that this wouldn't be a fair fight. Still he sent out his next pokemon which was Chikorita. The grass pokemon from last time she saw it, had grown quite a bit but still was lacking the experience it needed to fight in battle. "Use Razor leaf, don't let that water rat beat you in battle!" He called out towards his pokemon as the Chikorita swished its leaf on its head from side to side on occasions to show that it was ready or battle. Hopefully the Chikorita wouldn't come to the same fate as the Zubat from earlier, but it seemed that they were doomed from the start. Neptunia was the first one to go this time, she released a very icy attack from her open trumpet like nose. The ice was perfectly aimed at the Chikorita and struck the pokemon down. Being that it was twice as strong the Chikorita shivered and cried out from the pain as it couldn't hold back. But it did its best to hold ground, fearing that it'd get similar treatment earlier like its partner had been from earlier, the Zubat would probably get punished first by its owner's pokemon. "I don't care what you've been doing to be honest. It doesn't matter to me and it'll interfere with my own buisness. So just stay out of my way." Silver spat as there was no remorse for his pokemon either. Surprisngly, it managed to withstand that ice beam attack, and managed to stand up again. It was gasping for air, already exhausted from the blow earlier, it was clear that the Chikorita was going to be lucky if it survived the next blow. "Didn't you hear me earlier? Use Razor leaf!" He called out. The Chikorita's turn was up now as the pokemon whipped up a few leafs that it created from its one o its head. Once they were angled just right, the Chikorita made them go forward and they all had sharp endges. They hit the Horsea making Neptunia cry out in pain. However it hadn't suffered as badly as the Chikorita had been in this case. Neptunia seemed fine as she came back over towards the battle to show that she was ready for more. IT was clear she was ready for a whole lot more if Remi had asked for it. If Meptunia could speak out she probably would feel sorry for the Chikorita, but it was too late now. "My chikorita's not adorable, not in the least! It'll show you that it's strong!" Silver said with a glare knowing that he only had strong pokemon not cute ones that were like the fluffy and stuffed pokedolls in the market. Battle

Blinking her eyes, she was a little scorned at how scathing Silver was in his reply. They were nowhere near friends of course but she had hoped there was some semblance of empathy. Deciding to let it ride, she replied back without a hint of a reaction. If he wanted a rise, he would not get it from her. "I will feel pity the day you ever have a Pokemon stolen from you then. I know little of this thief but he has a massive bounty on his head and is known as a reputable thief. Maybe one day you too will fall victim to his criminal ways." Knowing full well she wasn't spiteful, she hoped her point would have some weight with him. He seemed to care little for his Pokemon but again, Remi was adamant there was some goodness deep down buried under this moody teenager's exterior. Sadly, his insistence on waging on with the battle undercut her hope for him. Worse yet was the fact despite his angst and desperation to shrug her off, Remi's choice in Pokemon was faster and outsped. Rallying off the ice beam and causing a significant blow to the Chikorita, winding her and causing a delay, Silver spat out again angrily. "As much as you may want me to stay out of your way there will be times like today where we have chance encounters. If we are to bump into one another like this, why not strike up friendship? I'm journeying by myself, with my Pokemon but having a familiar face will surely keep us both going."
Hearing him roaring out the attack, Remi attempted to memorise the name as she watched the Chikorita exact out his order. Striking out a wave of razor sharp leaves with a tussle of its leaf like hair, Remi gasped as the offensive objects were thrown, grazing at Neptunia. Hearing the Horsea cry out in pain, Remi was clearly worried. "NEPTUNIA! Are you ok?!" Still too novice to differentiate the deadliness of a blow. Noticing her shrug it off, she trembled her bottom a lip a little but decided to have some faith in the perseverance of her Pokemon. Instead, focusing her eyes on Silver he spoke, she sighed. "It is strong. I can tell from that attack just then. But its cute too. Pokemon are more than just battling tools." Deciding it might be for the best to not prolong Silver's embarrassment and conclude this she looked to Neptunia. "Nep, I think we've cooled us all down a little. How about a refreshing wave attack? Like the one i've seen you do before!" Letting out a sigh and rolling her eyes, Neptunia understood that as a Surf. However, this would come to an end after this battle if she didn't learn to command properly. Her only reason for compliance at this point was due to viewing the Chikorita as a potential threat.

Silver glared at Remi with pure hate in his eyes. This trainer didn't understand anything about the world around them. There was no room for such weak feelings like pity in this world. "Two things. One, no one would steal my Pokemon, nor would I care if they did. If the Pokemon was weak enough to be caught, it is not worth my time, or effort to save. The second, I would never be friends with such a weakling like you. The world has no use for such soft feelings like pity and friendship. You'd be better off abandoning all these silly morals and feelings. They will get you no where!" he finished with a glare. Turning to his Pokemon with a huff, he saw a slight, green glow around him. "Good. You useless lizard are actually doing something useful." he said as he recognized the tell tale sign of Overgrow starting up. Deciding to end the stupid Horsea that Remi had put on the field, he gave his order. "Use Razor Leaf and end this now!" He said in a cold, unyielding voice. The Chikorita winced at its trainers voice. The cold tone let it know that if it didn't win, it would get no mercy. Gulping, the Chikorita lifted its head slowly to release another barrage of leaves towards the sea horse, but froze in its tracks when it saw a massive wave come crashing towards it. Sighing in defeat, it let the wave crash over it. Once the water retreated, it was sitting there, unmoving. It was knocked out. Silver hissed. "How?! How did you beat me like that?!" he demanded. Pinching his nose, he threw cash at Remi. "Never mind. Leave before I change my mind!" he said with a growl before picking up his Chikorita and leaving. Neptunia gave a grin as she inhaled deeply. Pooling all the water she could into her tiny mouth, she released it. A large amount of water came out of her mouth and sprayed towards the Chikorita. It hit dead on, and once the water receded, the Chikorita was lying there, completely unconscious. Turning back to Remi, she let out a few squirts of water to celebrate.

Feeling the angst burning into her own from the trainer's eyes, she flinched a little. It wasn't often she received a look such as that. In fact, the last one she had seen was from her best friend she had lost contact with. These two were so alike it was almost uncanny. Deciding to respond to his rebuttal, she went through point by point. "You don't seem to understand. This thief will steal them from right under your nose. Imagine you had a Pokemon that was all powerful and unbeatable. You put them away in their Pokeball and journey from one route to the next. In that time, this bizarre person bumps into you and you think nothing of it. It's only when you go to use your Pokemon that you realise they are gone." Hoping it would sink in, she then tackled the next of his points. Her offer of friendship was rejected, which hurt her, but she hoped he would understand it still remained open should he change his mind. "I know i'm weak. I lost to Falkner because I was far too inexperienced. But it's because of the goodness I follow that I was able to bounce back and do everything in my power to grow stronger for the sake of my friends, my Pokemon."
Pulling a genteel smile, she hoped to reminder Silver that if he had chosen to abandon his morals, it wasn't helping him all that much better. "You speak of abandoning my morals and feelings. But if you are any example of that, just how much has this aided you? We've had a very intense battle just now and it was close but this is the second time you've lost. It's okay, you don't need to put up this harsh exterior. You can hurt, laugh, cry, be unsure just like everyone else. There's no shame in it." Realising her words would likely rile him up more, she decided not to press any further. Instead, the battle would now reach its head. Given how much of a swift battler Neptunia was, it was no surprise that she was able to go first and with a torrential wave of water being sent forward, it meant Silver had no chance in retaliating. Which was just as well, something Silver had commented on had worried Remi. The loss now apparent to both sides, Remi looked over to Silver as he failed to grasp why he had lost. "I honestly think you need to give your Pokemon more of a chance. Treat them as friends. Maybe if you do, the next time we meet, things will be different." Looking at money being thrown at her feet, she went into her pocket and struggled to get the funds from their meeting in New Bark.
"Oh! Silver... You left this... Ah." Seeing him storm off, she looked down at the money on the floor and accumulated it with the money from last time. "He must be incredibly rich to be throwing money around like that. Goodness. I'll have to hold onto this. Again." Pocketing it away, she noticed Neptunia seeming quite pleased with herself. "Well done team! Looks like we pulled together and won another victory. You know, I am still very much inexperienced and I can tell with every battle you guys are all getting stronger but I will definitely catch up. I won't be a rookie forever." Smiling, she returned Neptunia who had a soft, faint smile expression over her face. She was a temperamental creature but she felt the sincerity in Remi's words. Looking to Gex, she pondered their next move. "Perhaps we should carry on in the direction we were going. I think Silver went in the opposite direction so we shouldn't be bumping into him anytime soon. I really don't want him to go into an outburst over meeting again so soon." Looking over her shoulder in their original direction they were heading, Remi nodded. "We'll head on to Violet. Let's just cross this route first." Taking a brave step, she began to wonder forwards through the tall grass. Given how much of a novice she was, Remi was at least getting more confident in wading through the unknown.

The heat of summer was still on as most pokemon had hidden away to try avoid the heat. Most of them would come out later that evening or during dawn to feel the coolness of the day. Either way most pokemon were aware of the dangers in staying out for too long in this awful weater. But the good thing was, Autumn was close and fast approaching. The days would become a lot cooler out, and the heat wouldn't be much of a problem. That was probably some relief that the pokemon were looking forward too. But unfortunately that was a few weeks away. As the wind blew back and forth as some pokemon migrated out further in the area like they were flying there. A group of such pokemon wee doing that as they all had bodies looking rather pink. Two great leaves were on their forehead. They rotated on their heads like helicopters did with their own rotating parts to keep them aloft. As the pokemon flew, one of them was knocked to the ground as a collision suddenly happened in the air. A loud thud could be heard as a surprised flying pokemon known as Chatot ran into the grass pokemon having not noticed that it was there. The Hoppip managed to stay in the air, while the Chatot fell to the ground and landed with a soft thud. There was a dazed look in its eyes as the pokemon didn't seem to know where it was. It ha an idea (Well sort of) of where it was going. But before it could move any further and back into the sky, the chatter box pokemon heard a voice nearby and as for their name sake began to copy the words that came from Remi. "Carry on, carry on SQUAWK. Go to Violet, SQUAWWWK." The bird pokemon said as it flapped its wings. There might've been no ryhm or reason to its words to the bird pokemon but it just simply couldn't ignore the fact that it was going to copy someone every chance it got. "Carry on, Squawk!" It said rather loudly as it hopped around trying to get itself together. That was just then as it stepped into Remi's path. The brightly colored parrot having stepped onto her path, it was up to her if she wanted to battle it or not. A wild Chatot (level 6) Has stumbled on Remi's path. Do you want to challenge it to a battle? Ooc: This has been updated!

No sooner than she had taken a step or two that the next Pokemon made itself known. Or rather, school of Pokemon. Stopping still, Remi looked up, eyes wide with wonder as she took in the sights of all the peculiar flying Pokemon off to the side overhead. " Gex! Look! Look at those cute flying little Pokemon." Adjusting his shades as he looked up as well to combat the sun's glare, the Grovyle took one looked and realised them to be Hoppip. Not really knowing much else, he gathered they must have transported themselves about like helicopters with the blades of grass on their heads. " I wonder if we can get their attention. Hm? Oh?" Trailing off from what she had mentioned, she noticed something else was afoot. Or aflight. Hearing a rather messy flap of wings, it seemed a multicoloured bird had come out of nowhere and without so much a care of its spatial surroundings, had gone smack bang into one of the floating Hoppip. " Oh no! They collided!" Cried out Remi as she raised a hand to her mouth to mask her surprise. " We should go make sure they're ok!" Noticing the Hoppip had managed to stay afloat, it appeared the other Pokemon was in trouble. Slowly making their way to the fallen parrot like avian, Remi had the startle of her life as the Pokemon suddenly sat up and with a sudden voice squawking out loud, made her pan around to see if someone had began yelling at her. " Is someone there?!" She remarked but eventually honed in on the fact the raucous chatter came from none other than the bird itself. Blinking, it was something that had confused the rookie trainer completely. She had trouble deciphering the tones and meanings of her Pokemon's language but for a Pokemon to turn around and so fluently usher her onwards to Violet, it was quite a shock. " You... Can talk?" Still taken aback by the Pokemon's ability of speech, she eventually pieced together what it had said. " Wait one moment. You think I should go onto Violet?" Amazed by the Pokemon's words, she responded, engaging in conversation with the parrot. " I was actually on my way there but saw you had bit of a bump. Are you ok?" Springing to its feet as it then obstructed her path, Remi pulled bit of a perplexed face as she continued talking to it. " I can't very well continue onto Violet if you're blocking the way." Putting a hand on her chin, she realised referring to the trusty Pokedex might help here. " Right! Let's see what our Pokedex says." Eventually finding it, she pointed it at the bird in order to scan it. " --Chatot. The Music Note Pokémon. Its tongue is just like a human's. As a result, it can cleverly mimic human speech.--" Letting the Pokedex shut down, she pocketed it away as she carefully memorised its name. " A Chatot. And it can mimic human speech. Did you happen to hear what I said about going to Violet?" Rather taken by its ability, Remi decided she would partake in a little spar with it. It was obstructing her way as well which meant a battle was inevitable at this point. Looking down to her Pokeballs, she decided it was time to give one of her newer Pokemon a go. " Momoha, I choose you!" Sending the Pokeball forward, a rather diminutive and meek looking Emolga appeared, staring around in awe and wonderment. This was the Pokemon that Remi had looked after she was in her egg and had managed to hatch. Because of this, she was very much still a fledgling baby. Taking a risk, Remi hoped to give the Pokemon some experience. " It's time to enjoy a friendly battle with this Chatot. Momoha, can you do a Thundershock?" Speaking clearly and gently, she hoped it would be enough encouragement for the Pokemon to fight. Having had Elm discuss the Pokemon's abilities, she had at least something of a grasp over the infant.

Momoha gave a shy look around the battle field. This was her first battle, and she was a bit nervous as to how it would turn out. Nevertheless, she got into a battle stance and waited for Remi's orders. Hearing her say thundershock, Momoha closed her eyes and focused on the small sacks in her cheeks that stored electricity. Concentrating for a second. She managed to get them to spark before releasing a bolt of electricity towards the opposing Chatot. She gave a grin as it hit, pleased with her actions. As she celebrated, she saw the Chatot fly up, but didn't know what to make of it. She soon felt a stinging in her side as she realized that the Chatot had attacked her. It didn't hurt that much though, so Momoha decided that she could still battle. The Chatot gave a scared chirp when it saw the electric type Pokemon emerge from her ball. It gave an even more scared chirp when it heard the command. A small bolt of electricity shot from the Emolga and towards the Chatot, erratically arcing and glowing as it did so. Bracing itself, the Chatot gave a screech of pain at the super effective move hit. Forcing itself upwards and off the ground, the colorful flying type narrowed its eyes. This trainer was going down! Stabilizing itself in the air, the Chatot came flying down quickly, its beak hitting the Emolga dead on. As it returned to its post with a sense of pride, the Chatot looked back to see a healthy Emolga. Groaning, the Chatot waited for the next attack.

Given she was a newborn, Remi wasn't too sure what to expect from her Emolga. That and considering all the other Pokemon she had used had some really overwhelming attacks, it meant the amateur trainer was keeping a very open mind. Looking over to Gex, she nodded. "I do hope she'll be ok. I'm not doing this wrong do you think Gex?" His arms folded, the Pokemon merely nodded his head in reassurance. All Pokemon had to start somewhere. With the electric type Pokemon doing what it could to generate some static electricity, it let loose the voltage and struck at the Chatot. "Oh! That was a really good hit! Well done, Momoha." Turning to Gex, Remi seemed overjoyed.
"To think she hatched a couple of days back." Looking back, she let out a shocked gasp as it appeared the Chatot was simply all too fast and cunning to let a fledging infant surpass it. "Momoha, watch out!" Leaving the Pokemon with a deft peck, Remi wanted to jump in and scoop the Emolga out of battle but with a dismissive shake of Gex's head, she refrained. It appeared the Pokemon was made of sterner stuff. "Don't push yourself too hard. If you can go another round, please use Thundershock again. You seem to be really good at that move." Putting on a smile for her Pokemon, it was a case of believing in them to give them added strength.

Despite the lack of experience, the baby Emolga was handling the pain from the attack rather well. The reassurance from her trainer was probably quite the confidence boost as well. Although Momoha still felt the sting from the Chatot's peck attack, there was power in the infant as well in the form of the electricity. Things came in stages. Walking, running, gliding, and using attacks and abilities. The Emolga had the advantage of hatching a few days prior, meaning that the information overload was already past. Sure, it was daunting on the battlefield and there was plenty to take in, battles moved with the same fluidity and the Emolga was learning on the job.
Momoha was good for another round, which was good for everyone but that Chatot. Clearing it's throat, the bird screeched and flapped it's wings to take back to the sky after it's electrical journey into pain. "Violet City, Violet City!" It chided in a sing-song way, although in it's pained state it wasn't near as beautiful as it could have been. What would have been a nice song earlier was now an earsore, and it was probably for the best it was about to be knocked out. Momoha could consider it a public duty, and public service for all within earshot.
"Chatot down! Chatot down! Ground approaching fast!" What sounded like a movie quote gurgled from the bird's beak as it was struck with the Emolga's electricity. A well-chosen move on Remi's part, and an easy one for the baby Emolga to execute. With an unceremonious plop, the bird fell to the ground with little effort on Momoha's behalf. Chatot had been defeated, and the first battle for the infant had been an impressive success. Momoha turned to face her trainer, although only Remi would be able to pick up on the emotions shown by the baby Emolga. At least the first battle had been a success! Wincing a little as the Chatot's voice bellowed ever more about Violet City, it was clear even for Remi the novelty of a talking Pokemon was wearing a trifle thin. " Okay, okay, I understand. Violet City is the next destination." Feigning a little smile, it seemed as if the Pokemon would not stop spouting the same words over and over. Speaking over the squawking Pokemon, Remi turned to Gex. " The Pokedex entry did state they pick up a certain phrase and repeat it over and over. Maybe this is it's phrase... Oh!" Her head drawn back to the unfolding events, it became apparent that Momoha was more than ready to exact out what Remi had asked of her. Whether it be due to how incessant the Chatot was with its yelling was unconfirmed but there was little doubt over the true reason. Sparking up with rogue static jolts of electricity, the fledging Emolga zapped at the loud mouthed avian. As it did, it appeared the Pokemon actually became something other than a broken record. " Goodness, it seems it knows of other words too. That's... Hopeful." The last thing she would wish upon anyone is being stuck with someone who could only parrot the same phrase over and over and over. Watching as the move was enough to finish off the Chatot, Remi jumped upwards ecstatically with joy for her Pokemon's efforts. " Momoha! You did wonderfully! Come here." Opening her arms out wide, the Emolga smiled sweetly at realising it had indeed done a good job with peace and quiet now reigning over the vicinity. Flapping around and picking up some height into the air, the diminutive Emolga glided over and met with Remi's embrace. Gently holding her, Remi made a big fuss in giving her Pokemon some adoration. " You little star you... Oh aren't you a cutie." Rolling his eyes behind his shades, Gex shook his head as he thought over their past together and how he never got a fussing of that calibre. Chalking it up to the fact the Emolga was dangerously cute, Gex cleared his throat as he looked over to the twitching Chatot. " Oh! I suppose we should help the poor thing find some help in recovering." Quickly enlisting the Pokemon's aide with a spare Pokeball, the team could no progress on. " Looks like we have quite a way to go until Violet. We will get there though." Wading through the grass whilst still fussing over Momoha, Gex followed after in the rear making sure nothing would creep up on them. Tyger: Hey Tyger. We're on ORAS dex now so Neptunia should learn Twister at level 17 and Remi's not got the first badge so i'll be capturing this.
