Squirt, Madam, NimrodDorthea's hands kept busy as she readied for a day of sightseeing, or exploration as she was fond of putting it. After the fight with Falkner's birds, they deserved a break, and Dorthea was looking forward to a day with no expectations or duties to fulfill. She just wanted to have fun and get to know her Pokemon better, especially the new additions. Today was a day of exploration in more ways than one, and Dorthea had started out by choosing some of her newest Pokemon to come along. It had been a tough decision, since it felt like it had been forever since she had had Sinos out and running, but for now he had to make do with whatever the 'box' grounds could offer. She had chosen Squirt and Nimrod again as her main force, if they were to run into any trouble. She trusted the Squirtle and Ekans, and loved how they were always ready for her hugs and petting. Madam tacked along too, but that was more because she was still trying to figure out how to get the Silcoon to relax. Then there were Diarm and Zian, the ones she had gotten at the same time, though independent from each other. Diarm had hatched right along the same time, she had caught Zian, and now Dorthea had had time, it was a bit funny how things worked out. The last addition was a secret yet. To Aglaia at least. Dorthea peeked inside her shirt, sending the yellow spider a secretive smile. It had crawled around, tickling her the entire morning. The Joltik was her smallest Pokemon yet, and the feeling of the small creature making herself at home in her clothes was both thrilling and enjoyable. Dorthea couldn’t wait to introduce her to Aglaia. Such a small thing couldn’t possibly be scary or threatening. The Joltik wasn’t even able to shock with electricity, even though she was part electric type; something about it absorbing static electricity rather than making it directly in its body. The Joltik gave a tiny smile back, and though Dorthea didn’t know if the hesitation of the smile was due to shyness or something else, it pleased her and she patted the shirt gently and continued the packing. The spider’s smile had brightened Dorthea’s mood even further, and she immediately started to think of a name for her. She had only just received the Joltik, bought for the money she had earned selling the Doduo and the Azurill. Admittedly, it might have been a bit pricey, but she couldn’t refuse the little thing, when she first saw it. Dorthea giggled, when the Joltik found another ticklish spot. “Stop that, you little beast, or I’ll name you something horrendous.” She warned in childish glee. The movement stopped, and Dorthea found room for a couple of empty Pokeballs in her pockets. She was almost ready. She had packed the extra potions and Pokeballs, she had bought, while she had been in the Pokemart anyway, selling a couple of Nuggets. On impulse she had bought a couple of different things, like an old fishing rod and a rope. The rope would be neat to have, where they were going she was sure, but she didn’t know why Aglaia wanted her to buy the rod. At some point Aglaia would tell her, she guessed, but for now it just stood idle in the corner of the room. Dorthea left with her packed bag, and her six Pokemon, patting the small bulb on her shirt while closing the door. “Don’t worry. Your name will be Heidrun, and it isn’t bad at all. It means bright secret.” With that she walked downstairs to meet up with Aglaia. Today’s exploration spot was the Ruins, and Dorthea couldn’t wait to begin. ~~ After meeting up with her cousin in the foyer and greeting her with a hug, she kept a tight hold on her patience, so she could listen if Aglaia had laid any plans for their excursion. She made sure to ask what Pokemon Aglaia had chosen to take along too. Both because she was curious to know who would be their exploration partners for the day, and it was essential to know all the participants in an outing. It wouldn't do if they lost someone along the way, just because Dorthea hadn't bothered with knowing who was supposed to be there. When it came to her own, she rattled them off in careful order, but hesitated with the Joltik, unsure of Aglaia's reaction to yet another addition to Dorthea's growing group of Pokemon, but excited too. She wanted to show her. On insistence she revealed the yellow bug crawling around beneath her shirt, and if asked where she got it, she told while watching Aglaia's face for any reaction. "I bought her. This guy had put her up for sale, and I had some money saved from selling the Pokemon I didn't need."When all that was done, they could finally leave for the Ruins. Dorthea led the way, since she was the one who had found all the sightseeing spots so long ago. Aglaia had likely looked the place up on a map, but Dorthea had already been there once, looking at the entrance from the outside. (Ooc: Waiting for Aglaia to finish her battle with Falkner, so she can join up) ______ (Ooc: Filled out info for Joltik) Joltik Name: Heidrun (old Norse, means bright secret) Gender: Female Level: 1 OT: Joey Johnson Attacks: String Shot, Leech Life, Spider Web, Pursuit[sup]EM[/sup] Ability: Unnerve Nature/Personality: Modest(+sp.att,-att). Humble creature who enjoys the quiet times more than anything. She knows her own capabilities well, however finds no need to brag if she is good at something. She likes to crawl around on anyone, and isn't picky so long they are a good source of static electricity. She accepts battles like a natural thing of the world, but would never go out of her way to show her strength in neither battle nor training.

Aglaia had had it like she was dreaming after she had had her first major success with a pokemon battle. She couldn't believe she had really managed to win over Falkner. A gym leader! She had first happily agreed to wait a bit before telling their grandfather of their achievement. It still felt unreal and Aglaia was afraid she would wake up til it all being a dream or that something had gone wrong and they would come and ask to get the badge back. Who "they" were, she had no idea of. She too feared that it wouldn't get accepted by him. As the evening came Aglaia slowly to come down to earth and started to dare believe she had really done it. She was all smiles that day. It made her have seconds thoughts about waiting to tell their grandfather, he probably wanted to hear right away and he would perhaps get angry if he know they waited. Dorthea did not have much difficulties in persuade Aglaia to stay with their original decision. She just had to remind Aglaia that they had no deadline for this task and that he would only know if they told him. Beside, showing a bit of independence wouldn't hurt a bit, it was one of the reasons this tradition were there in the first place, for them to get experience and confidence. Aglaia accepted when Dorthea promised to buy a fishing rod. Aglaia had plans with that, if Dorthea wanted to talk about getting experience, that should help with something Dorthea needed to work on in Aglaia's opinion. They took a few days off to visit the Kalos Festial and see all what that region had to offer. Aglaia watched Dorthea race and win a skiddo and felt a bit envoius that her cousin had the courage to do all this stuff. Her short scounting around herself gave her an unexpected growth on her team, which she was nervous about showing to Dorthea, she didn't think her reason for bying it was very good. She left the computer when she had made the adjustment to her team for the todays trip to the ruins. Wystan was obvious. Paloma and Reignar had done so well in the gym battle she had them with her, and Saury she took with her again as she preferred to have him on her team. He had only been taken out because he wouldn't have been able to do a thing against the birds. She took with her her newly hatched ducklett, which she had named Thanh, and her newly bouht Fennekin whom she had named Freyr. --- Aglaia happily hugged Dorthea back in the foyer and looked just as excited as Dorthea. She had something to share as well. "I guess you don't have any plans for what we should do at the ruins?" Aglaia asked her with a laugh. Dorthea had often talked about investigating the ruins of alpha and Aglaia had done some reserch on the area, it looked interesting. There were some brainwork as well. "My suggestion is to try find the secret area, which should be there, and I hope your are ready to a lot of unowns, since there should be plenty of these in that area." Aglaai said with a smile, well aware it was a bit unorthodoxed of her not to have a plan for the whole day other than trying to find a secret area. Aglaia looked down shyly as Dorthea asked her what pokemon she would bring, and she quickly presented the ones Dorthea already knew. "I also plan on taking Thanh with me, to give him some training and such, and then.." She hesitated. "I have a pokemon you haven't met yet." She said almost apologising. "Remember when you were racing at the festival? I was out in the market area where I found a guy who needed a home." She looked down blushing. She had never thought she would buy a pokemon because she felt sorry for it. "I have called him Freyr,I think that fits him." Aglaia said and glanced at Dorthea, eagerly to hear what she thought about it. Unless Dorthea was very negative, she would call the fire fox out a moment later. Freyr sat down and looked around solemnly, carefully stepped away if Dorthea or others tried to stop him. He watched closely where he put every foot. Aglaia frowned. "Though perhaps it isn't so good to take him out of the city, it looks like he would prefer to be here." She said hesitantly and Freyrs eyes darkened a bit. Wystan looked curiously at his new team mate and stepped forward to greet him. Freyr eyed him warily before he nodded politely. "You seem like there is something you want to tell me?" Aglaia asked as Dorthea's supressed excitement wasn't gone unnoticed. "Come on, show me!" She pushed when Dorthea hesitated. Aglaia looked suprised at the tiny pokemon crawling around on Dorthea, she could not understand how she dared to have something so close to her skin. It could surely both bite or something worse. Dorthea was apparently just as anxious about Aglaia's opinion as Aglaia had been for Dorthea's, but she thought her cousin was nervous about having bought a new pokemon. "It is a nice one, I hope it will help you, I really do!" Aglaia said reassuring but a bit absentminded as she thought about this thing about selling pokemon. The place she had bought Freyr from had been a whole shop, just selling pokemon. That could actually be something useful if she caught some of those she battled, then she would have a chance to get enough money to start a real shop at some point. She didn't think making one just with pokemon would be very good, there would be too many expenses with food and way too much time spent on cleaning, training, excercising and finding proper new wares. "Wait, what pokemon have you sold?" Aglaia asked suddenly worried. Hopefully not the cute bear, which Dorthea hadn't seemed too thrilled about. When the last misunderstanding was solved, Aglaia followed Dorthea to the ruins and looked around at the area. "So, where are we going to start looking?" She asked. ----------------- Updated Thirdie's team and Heidrun along with the changes on my own team. Filled out the info for fennekin FennekinName: Freyr Gender: Male Level: 5 Attacks: Scratch, Tail Whip, Ember Ability: Blaze Nature/Personality: Quirky. Freyr loves to get his paws dirty and often sneaks away to have fun on his own. He feels bad about it though since he has been firmly taught he should be clean and elegant all the time, and he can't just shake that off. Due to the necessity of getting clean after a getaway, he has little problem with water as long as he isn't attacked with it. He doesn't have a high opinion of humans in general, as most of them saw him as too cute or feminine to be a male, and would have preferred if he had been a female instead. He don't like that he was bought out of pity.

"None at all," Dorthea grinned, and added in good fun to Aglaia's first question. "Other than to have fun." She nodded readily to Aglaia's suggestion, both because a secret area fitted well with her idea of exploring, and she liked to keep Aglaia happy by letting her plan all she needed and wanted. Dorthea had yet to find how far she would go to keep Aglaia happy, but she gathered it was a good deal of length.
Next up was the Pokemons, and Dorthea was surprised to discover Aglaia had actually gotten a Pokemon without her knowledge. It didn't dampen her enthusiasm one bit, and she was ready to greet the newcomer like all the others, if he let her. He didn't, which was slightly disappointing, but Dorthea looked to Aglaia with a happy smile none-the-less. "He is a beauty, I'll give you that." She praised him matter-of-fact. She meant no ill by it, and it was lucky Ursula wasn't around to hear her, or she might have found yet another to be jealous of. Dorthea waved Aglaia's concern about his preference for the city away. "It's a splendid opportunity to find out. It's not like we'll be far from here, so we can hurry back, if he really doesn't like it." Dorthea did her best to argue with logic. It was a somewhat different approach than usual for her, and her mind worked furiously, though she didn't show it. She really wanted the new guy with them, just because he was new and exciting. "And we do have a lot of travel between towns. They all need to be used to the nature to some degree, right?"
Aglaia didn't make any moves to let him stay back, so maybe it had just been her usual hesitance towards anything Pokemon. Never-the-less, Dorthea decided to let Diarm out to say hello to the fox. She figured two fire types had a better chance to find equal grounds. She watched Diarm approach Freyr, like the curious chick he was, but got distracted, when Aglaia asked to her secret. Dorthea smiled and reddened at the same time, before giving in and giving the small bug away. When first the secret was out, Dorthea had no reservation left, especially when Aglaia showed her positivism, even if distracted. Dorthea also readily told, which Pokemon she had found other homes. "Oh, you know, that Doduo I caught back in Cherrygrove, and the..." Dorthea stopped short, suddenly remembering she had never told about the Azurill "...Azurill we met that day we tried to find some practice against birds." She wondered briefly why Aglaia cared, since most Pokemon frightened her anyway, but maybe that was just to keep up with what to expect. When that was done with too, they finally left.
(Diarm spend the meantime running, stumbling, and getting to his feet, before running again. He circled in between his known flock, butting his head against Dorthea's legs or Wystan if he seemed in a playful mood. He only paused to take a curious look at Freyr, and chirped a hello, but if Freyr kept up his reserved attitude, Diarm would soon find him boring and return to his hazard play.)
Inside the entrance to the Ruins, Dorthea looked around with Aglaia, considering her question. "Well," her eyes trailed the different settings, trying to determine where was off limit, and where was not. "Looks like the archaeologists are working over there." She pointed towards a dig site blocked off with rolls of tape. "So that's probably a no go. But some of the old buildings seems open!" Dorthea's delight shone through in the last sentence. "How about we take the smaller one first?" The smaller one was also the easiest to get to. Dorthea could barely wait for Aglaia's response.

Nature/Personality: Hardy. As a chick: Seems to have an abundance of energy in his small body, and often trips without any obvious cause, other than his own disregard to where he puts his feet. He really is rather sturdy, and doesn't seem to care if he hurts himself. He is still learning his body's limits and how to move. Very curious, but wouldn't dream of venturing off alone. Always sticks close to someone he knows.

Aglaia smiled as Dorthea confirmed her suspicion that her cousin didn't have any plans at all, she rarely did which was why they fit so well together. Aglaia laid their plans and thought ahead, while Dorthea was quick thinking and could often come up with a solution to unexpected situations. And then she was just fun to be with and good to keep Aglaia's mood high. "Jah, det var derfor, at de ikke ville have ham." Answered Aglaia cryptically with a sad smile, before she explained what she meant. "Apparently most people think he is too pretty to be a male."Freyr turned an ear towards Aglaia, but didn't do anything else. He wasn't happy about the reason she had bought him, and to a lowered price none-the-less! But now he was stuck with her, he was crawing to hear what she thought about that matter. To his disappointment, the humans just turned the conversation to if he was to neat to take out of the city or not. He sighed and turned his attention away from the human conversation, missing what Dorthea said testing it and see if he liked it. He was sure they saw him as a neat, cute little toy like everyone else and would keep him in the city, never giving him a chance to play for real again. Aglaia on the other hand had listened closely to Dortheas argumentation, though she had not really thought about letting him stay back. If she had, she wouldn't have taken him with her to meet Dorthea now when they were just about to leave the city. "If it really doesn't work with him, do you think Granma would want him? You know so he could play in her garden and all that?" Aglaia asked Dorthea, since she hadn't really thought about what to do with him, if he really was as elegant and worried about his look as everyone expected him to be. It was good Freyr didn't hear that as well. Freyr eyed the torchic with the same wary stare he had sent Wystan earlier, before he ignored it along with the pang of jealousy that this firetype would be alloved to grow up without all the expectations he had endured himself. Wystan turned his attention to Diarm as well and Freyr looked with a bit of pity at the beedrill. He knew how most human threw out their first bugtype like him, when they got better and stronger pokemon. A moment Freyr thought he may could get a friend in the beedrill, unwanted as they both were, but decided against it as he didn't expect them to be on the same team for long. ~ ~ ~ At the ruins Aglaia watched the fennekin closely. Freyr was walking carefully and avoided getting dirty paws, but was otherwise fine about walking through tall grass and other potential dirty nature things, they came by. "He doesn't look bothered at all, does he?" Aglaia asked Dorthea hopefully and Freyr briefly turned an ear towards them, a bit surprised she sounded happy about that. Aglaia looked around the site as well and nodded at Dorthea's conclusion. "Let's keep to this part over here. I wouldn't like to accidently destroy some of their hard work.""Sounds good to me! Lead the way." Aglaia accepted Dorthea's proposal, her cousin appeared to know this area much more than she did anyway. Perhaps she had been here before? Aglaia glanced through one of the openings to one of the ruins they passed. "Did you know there are as many versions of unown as there are letters?" Aglaia asked Dorthea to keep the nervousness about meeting such strange pokemon with unknown powers away from her mind. "There should also be some shaped like exclamation and question mark, can you believe how funny it would look with one of those hovering about your head all the time?" Aglaia said laughing. Wystan looked curious at her, not really understanding why that would be so funny. ooc: updated Thirdie's addition to Diarm We're ready for a mod now

Ruins of Alph - First Chamber- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - "Ee....eeee..." A disembodied voice echoed out the chamber of the ruins the cousins were looking into, echoing eerily off the carved walls. There was an odd sensation in the air, as if something was watching the gathered humans and Pokémon. But a quick glance around the chamber would reveal nothing of extreme interest, only that one wall seemed to hold an inscription that had been well documented by archaeologists. Beneath that inscription, however, was a looming maw of inky darkness that could easily induce a sense of claustrophobia by how narrow the hole in the ground was. Aside from these, nothing in the chamber really stood out. "...eeeeee...." There was no mistaking it now - some unseen presence was attempting to communicate with the girls. It seemed telepathic in nature, but the fact it echoed in the chamber was something else entirely. Something... creepy. But perhaps whatever was here could offer a clue as to how to proceed, directly or indirectly. No matter what, it was worth checking the chamber out to discover the source of this mysterious sound... unless the source decided to check them out first. Out of nowhere, a strange, warbling cry filled the air, shortly before a dark shape detached itself from a shrouded corner of the chamber. It floated erratically through the air, making its way over to the group. Affixed was a single, unblinking eye set into the center of the creature, which strangely appeared to be the shape of the letter 'E'. It regarded the two humans and their Pokémon intently, wriggling its body around after a moment to attempt a different form of communication. "EeeEeeEeee!" Perhaps that meant 'battle' in Unown speak.
Attention!
A wild Unown-E (Level 11) appeared! Will you fight or flee?

Before entering the area of the ruins completely, Dorthea let Madam out to hold in her arms. She actually managed not to be doused in string, and considered it a great progress from just some days ago. She talked carefully to the Silcoon, explaining she just wanted her to see things, and promised she would keep her out of harms way. "He doesn't" Dorthea agreed to Aglaia's comment about Freyr, and was happy for her. It left them one problem less to worry about. Then she turned her mind to more important matters, like getting in to the small building, she had pointed out. She had only taken a look from outside last time. It had been closed off that day, and it had been difficult to see much. Luckily, the archeologists had put up a map of the area at the main entrance, which she had studied closely that time. Today she had chosen the other entrance, since it was the closest from Violet. While she led the way, Aglaia started telling her about her own gathered knowledge about the area. "Really? Every single letter? That sounds almost unbelievable." she said, and laughed along Aglaia at the idea of a question mark hovering above your head. "It would be like watching a cartoon." she added her own thought on the subject. Entering the small building, their mirth was soon interrupted by the eerie feeling down the path into the place, and Dorthea turned her head this way and that trying to determine if her ears were playing tricks on her. "Do you hear something?" she asked Aglaia. She tightened her arms around Madam a bit, but was still mindful about being gentle. Diarm butted his head against her calf, and stilled his running slightly, only circling her at walking speed. Heidrun tickled her side, but didn't show from her hiding place under Dorthea's shirt. Inside, the place looked almost boring in Dorthea's point of view. The inscription on the wall didn't interest Dorthea that much, and she was drawn to the hole in the ground instead, as the only interesting thing. However, before she could investigate it further, it got clear, that something really was here. The sudden cry that filled the chamber almost made Dorthea jump out of her skin, and she shot her head around to pinpoint the thing doing it. It was an E. Dorthea's eyebrows raised high in her forhead, and she half laughed "Looks like you're right. There are letters here." Diarm had skipped out of going his next turn around her feet, and hid himself behind her. That left Madam in the front, and though Dorthea didn't understand what the Unown wanted, she was acutely aware she had promised to protect Madam. She turned sideways, trying to get Madam out of the Unown's eye of sight, and let Squirt out in front instead. "I don't know what it wants, but use Water Gun to protect yourself, if it attacks, Squirt." Squirt nodded readily. (Ooc: Madam first, but Squirt changes in and uses Water Gun)

Aglaia found the ruins rather unsettling though she did her best not to show it. She had read about the ruins a lot and had found some of the theories about their supposed use interesting, but she had also fallen over more weird and haunting stories about them. Granted, most of those were during the night and now it was broad daylight, but the dark corners in the buildings could easily hide surprises. "Yeah, but it should be true," Aglaia said and smiled to Dorthea, happy to get something to talk about, to take her minds of spooky part of the ruins. "There should be inscribtions with unowns on some of the walls too, which are researched for their meanings. There are plenty of discussions about if it is real unowns that are on the walls or if the ones who made them were only inspired by them," she continued to blabber the information she had read. "They also discuss if it was the unnowns or the letters that came first," she added. Freyr wasn't faced by shadows or spooky stories he hadn't heard anyway, he just thought it was wonderful with the chance to explore something new. He didn't know how long this would last, or how much of the city or boring inside stuff he was doing later on, so he was determined to enjoy as much of it as possible. He sniffed around though since his trainer was in sight, he made sure not to get dirty, though Aglaia was too busy to notice anyway. Aglaia looked around nervously as they stepped inside one if the ruins, the roof didn't look like it was going to fall down, she hoped. A eerie sound made her swallow hard. "Yees," she answered Dorthea hesitantly, "perhaps it was just the wind? I'm sure there are many holes in such an old building," she tried to explain the experience without much belief in it herself. "Oh, look!" She exclaimed and pointed at the marks of the wall, and she quickly added, "they do really look like letters."She hesitated about touching the words on the wall, not as much because she feared they would come to life, but more that she could destroy something. A shadow in the corner moved and settled into the shape of an E, which then hang floating in the air, while making the eerie sound from before. "I have seen pictures of them, but it is really weird to see one for real," Aglaia said quietly and made sure she had Dorthea and Squirt in between herself and the unown. She looked around and saw Freyr sitting calmly nearby, looking between the unown and her. Aglaia sent him a quick smile before she looked closer at the letters, she touched one of them as she frowned, trying to guess exactly what letter they were supposed to be and curious to see if she could guess the meaning of the words they were making. Freyr was watching the strange pokemon with interest, he would have loved to play with it but didn't expact the girls to sent him into any battle. As a water type was sent out against it and his own trainer began to investigate the wall closely, he decided to try find some fun on his own, while he wasn't watched. He sheaked away and moved along the opposite wall of the girls, in the hope of finding something interesting. Ready for mod

Ruins of Alph was an unusual place in which many researchers and archaeologist were curious to delve in and unravel any potential mysteries. The interior walls were lined with endless hieroglyphics, many of which looked practically alive and ready to jump out of the very brick if one were to approach them and as both Aglaia and Dorthea explored in deeper, such a thing happened. Letting out a high pitched shrill of a cry, it was almost as if one of the letters from the wall were floating in front of them... Well, it WAS floating in front of them! Whilst the shapes were stylised, it was still a Pokemon and it bore a strong resemblance to the letter E. To which, both female trainers realised instantly. Aglaia stepped back and with it, Dorthea was the one handling this potential battle. Not that it was immediately obvious that the Unown wanted to battle in the first place.
Sensing that Pokemon were accompanying the pair, the Unown had appeared in order to test their skills and so, a battle was in order. With it's single eye, the floating E skimmed across the sight of all the Pokemon, focusing on the lone Silcoon who had been left up front until the human stood in the way. Backing up a little, the Unown then turned to face Squirt, who came across as more battle savvy. Slowly, the Unown began to quiver on the spot and with each shake, a number of purple orbs of light formed in a circle around it's body. Then, it let out a repeat of it's earlier cry, the floating orbs of energy flying towards Squirt one after the other at an alarming speed. Unable to dodge out of the way, the Squirtle stood his ground, his shell receiving a number of hits.
Shaking the attack off, it still wasn't clear to the group why this Unown had appeared and started to attack them. But from the order of Dorthea, Squirt attacked back. Drawing in a breath, the turtle released a sudden stream of water, which cut through the dense air. Striking the E with a pound of water, the Unown floated in a disorientated manner before releasing another bout of Hidden Power, a follow up of glowing orbs striking Squirt's shell once again.
Unown E: | Level 11 | Health: 62% ( 21/34 HP) Status: Normal Unown used Hidden Power, twice!
VS
Squirt: | Level 14 | Health: 60% (24/40 HP) Status: Normal Madam switched with Squirt! Squirt used Water Gun!
OOC: Leaving this as a single battle for now but Tarlar can have her own Unown appear afterward if requested. RNG'ed Hidden Power = Poison typing.

The Unown attacked with weirdly floating orbs, and battle was in session. Dorthea couldn't say she was surprised, though she didn't know why it always ended like that. Maybe in this case it was simply them trespassing on the E's territory. She wouldn't put it past something as simple as that. Loyal Squirt paid it back in kind, and Dorthea patted Madam on the top "See? Squirt is taking care of things. Nothing to be afraid of." She was a bit more absentminded in knowing what Aglaia was doing, and only barely registrered the cousin seeking refuge behind her and Squirt. She took a quick glance over her shoulder to check, where exactly Aglaia had placed herself and her Pokemon, and then returned to the battle at hand. "Just keep it there, Squirt. The Water Gun seems to do the trick, so stick to that." Squirt withstood the onslaught from the orbs. He had never experienced anything like it, and wondered what the orbs was made of. There wasn't time to wonder for long though. He would gladly help Dorthea keep her promise to Madam. He had also a promise to keep to their unwilling team mate, and he hadn't seen much action lately anyway. It was time he showed Dorthea why she had picked him as her first Pokemon. Diarm backed away from Dorthea, when the battle began, and joined Aglaia at the wall instead. The floating orbs and water and rapid movements were all too overwhelming for him, and he felt safer keeping to the background and the quiet investigations of the other girl. Though it didn't last long before he saw the fire fox sneaking off. Immediately Diarm's curiosity was peeked, and he chirped and sprang up to follow. 'Tic tic - wait up! Where are we going?' he cried and stumbled after the sneaky Freyr. (Ooc: Squirt uses Water Gun)

Aglaia trusted Dorthea to handle the floating letter and focused entirely on the writings on the wall. It was surprisingly difficult for her to understand even though they were supposed to be the same as the alphabet. Aglaia got stubborn and found her notebook and started to try crack the code, some letters, like E, O or D was easy enough to recognize, and she tried to use them to guess what was written, and through that, what the rest of the letters were. She scolded herself for not having taken notes about it with her, but she hadn't expected to find something like this in the parts the researchers had finished with. She was soon consumed in her work, sure Dorthea would watch her back and that Freyr wouldn't venture anywhere, the elegant fennekin didn't look like one who liked to get his paws dirty. Freyr was bored, he wasn't involved in the battle and his own trainer were just staring at the wall! As he sneaked along the wall, he couldn't even enjoy getting his paws dirty as the little dust there were, he could easily shake off again. The wall kept no exciting secrets either, it just smelled of dust and was full of all those weird signs the humans were so happy for. Where Aglaia paid no attention to Diarm, Freyr quickly heard the sound of the torchics footsteps, as he moved closer. "Quiet," he whispered grinningly to the torchic, sneaking away with a partner in crime made everything much more fun, even though there was nothing to sneak off to. "We're just trying to find some interesting to do, but they cannot see it! Or else they will stop us," Freyr whispered secretly to Diarm. Never mind it was a boring place, he had just found something to entertain himself with. He lead the way along the wall towards the far side of the ruin, and was happy the floor was so smooth or else the torchic's stumbling would have revealed them long time ago. Perhaps if they got outside, out of sight of the trainers, he could have a proper playtime with the torchic? "You are doing great, but watch where you step," the fennekin whispered kindly to the young torchic. Ready for mod

After hearing the young girl's command for her Squirtle, the Examiner was not surprised by the upcoming Ejection of water from the blue Pokemon's mouth. In a few Exciting seconds, the Unown E seemed to Exclaimed and cried in pain from the suddenly powerful water type attack. Something about the move just now had been Empowered, and stronger than before. The floating E was pushed backward and felt Exhausted already from the attack. Dang, this trainer was strong! Summoning a circle of floating orbs or balls again, the Unown E charged the orbs a bit and then sent them flying toward the Squirtle. One after another, the balls Encountered with the Squirtle's shell. Each time it hit, Squirt felt something sick from the power, but he also knew that he wasn't really sick. But just the contact with the balls each time made him felt sick, like the balls were Enchanted with a sickly curse or something. Shaking his head, the water type stood still on the field, not yet finished with the battle.

Dorthea raised her brows in surprise at Squirt's power. She couldn't help but be impressed by how well he pushed the E back. She gave a careful pet to Madam, and then shouted her support at Squirt. "Looking great, Squirt! One more Water Gun might be enough to make it give up!" Only afterwards she remembered she was meant to be more subdued, and she ducked her head in embarrassment. It was hard to remember all the time. At least Madam hadn't started spraying her with string for her blunder, so she seemed to get off scot free for now. Squirt gave a determined nod at Dorthea's shout. The Unown's attack was starting to get to him, but not as fast as his own seemed to have torn at the E. He was far from done, and he pumped water into his cheeks in preparation for another shot. ~~ As soon as Freyr acknowledged Diarm, the torchic eagerly ducked his head to do as told, and tried to quiet down and be unnoticed. Not an easy task for the energetic chicken. A few steps along the wall, Diarm had forgot about the humans and the battle, and happily tripped his way after Freyr, though he did try to look where he put his feet. "What does 'interesting' look like?" he asked, only whispering because Freyr had done it all along. He pecked at a pebble in curiosity, just to check if it might be this 'interesting' thing. Aglaia tapped the pen to her lips as she thought deeply, battle and eerie atmosphere forgotten. She was pretty sure she had cracked the "code" though there were still a few letters she was uncertain of. Only one way to figure out. She moved to another part of the wall and started to try translate it with the help of the alphabet she had noted down. "Hah!" She exclaimed triumphically when it did make sense and the last few letters were noted correctly down. She began to try translate the next part of the wall without noting it all down, hoping to find something interesting, though she knew she wouldn't make some big discovery since the real archaeologists had already been here. ~~~ Freyr chucked from Diarms question, he was clearly a hatchling. "Interesting is a thing that is fun, a thing that makes you curious," he looked at Diarm while the chick pecked a pebble. "Do you want to spent time on that little rock? Then it is interesting, for you at least. If I want something really interesting it should be something out of the ordinary, something different!" Freyr explained with a grin. "In a place like this," he continued and looked around in the ruin, "It would be something that is not a rock or boring signs on the wall."He continued down the hall not caring that Diarm failed in being sneaky, he saw an opportunity in the little hatchling who had yet to be too influenced by the humans. Perhaps he coul make a friend out of him? He froze momentarily when Aglaia made an exclamation and glanced back, but his trainer were just ecited about the wall. Strange human. He careful took a few more steps forward to be sure they were still undetected and then lowered his head closer to Diarm. "An important thing when doing something interesting and sneaky, you need for them to not see you," he whispered secretly and nodded towards the humans. "The two-legs loves to stop you from doing what is fun, they don't like if you act in a way they don't want to. You are still young so you can be alloved to almost anything, but when you get older they will expect you do behave in a certaint way all the time and that sucks! Mark my words, learn to sneak away when you want to have fun!" The fennekin lectured the torchic. He directed Diarm's attention to the battle. "The easiest time to sneak away is when they are occupied with battles like this one, but I fear our time is almost up. Can you see how the floating black thing is hanging? It looks tired, right? That means the blue won is about to win the battle and then it stops, and then the two-legs pays attention to us again. So let's hurry!"He walked a bit further before he stopped abruptly and made sure Diarm didn't accidently walk straight into the hole in the floor before them. "Now this looks interesting," Freyr said as she sniffed the opening. He couldn't see the bottom. ~~~ If the battle ended Freyr would soon notice the quietness and look disappointed. Why couldn't that wild pokemon have given just a bit more restistance to give him more time for himself? He made sure he was in between Diarm and the hole, and sat face to face with the torchic whom he smiled kindly to the hatchling. "Would you please try walk past me?" He asked and if Diarm did, he would move so he got in the way and stopped him from getting closer to the hole. "Thank you, now please just stay in front of me, or run back to your trainer, that's the two-legged one that feeds you," he said without explaining why he had wanted him to do that behavior before. Freyr began to wash his paw from some of the dust that were everywhere here. Ready for mod

The quiet hum continued as the Unown worked, that eerie eeeee'ing persisting, no, growing when it summoned up the mysterious orbs it used to attack. No doubt the annoying sound was only an aid for Squirt to put everything he had into his attacks. The sooner the strange alphabetic pokémon was put down the sooner the room would fall into pleasurable silence once again. Thankfully the little turtle moved first. Inhaling deeply to gather up the force for his attack, Squirt spouted another round of Water Gun at the floating letter. For a moment there was a louder screech of the Unown's namesake but once the the spray of water had forced it to the ground the wild pokémon quieted. Now motionless, it was too bad it hadn't been one of the letters still wracking Agalia's brain whilst deciphering the writings on the wall. It would have been a prime subject for the beginnings of a key. Though, with the off-shoots of the chamber and distant murmurs occasionally whispering in, there could be more letters lurking around. VICTORY
Squirt vanquished his literate foe and grew to Lv 16! What's this? It looks like Squirt wants to evolve! Do you want to stop it? Squirt wants to learn Bite, delete an old move? Madam learned a great deal and grew to Lv 10! What's this? It looks like Madam wants to evolve! Do you want to stop it?

"That's it, Squirt! Good job!" Dorthea exclaimed, when the Unown was finally silenced. She was ready to run forward immediately to give him a celebratory hug, but she was still holding Madam, and the next moment two sudden bursts of light startled her into silence. It was only because she had been looking at Squirt when it happened, she noticed the light from him too. Otherwise the light of Madam in her arms would have outshone anything else. Dorthea held the Silcoon a bit out from her body, and let the thing take its course. A moment later wings unfolded right in front of her face, and Dorthea froze at the first flutter. This was unexpected. Dorthea bit her lip, her mind working a mile a minute, as she fit the puzzle pieces together she hadn't known was a puzzle. Madam was a bug, but a bug with wings. Her grandfather's smile when he had made the new demand of her instead of the 'find a bird'. And Wystan that had wings, though she hadn't paid it much attention, because they were so different... Dorthea really should have known what was coming, she realized. As Madam fluttered off from Dorthea's shaking fingers, Dorthea couldn't help but flinch, and she swallowed loudly, then took a big breath and screamed "I'm gonna kill that old man!" She stamped her feet at the ground, before taking a couple of deep breathes. Poor Madam made a screeching sound, and fluttered further away, trying to escape upwards but only meeting ceiling. Dorthea followed her with the eyes, trying to come to terms with her new form. "I'll kill him," she mumbled, but not meaning it as much as it had originally sounded. Madam was still just a bug, and though her wings were bigger and more pronounced than Wystan's, the fluttering sound was the only thing that could remind Dorthea of birds. Listening closely it was too soft and quiet to seem threatening, Dorthea decided and grind her teeth. Something pulled at her leg, and she looked down to find Squirt looking at her worried. She forced a smile. "You evolved into one cool turtle." She bend down and hugged him close, using the hard edge of his shell to ground herself and calm down entirely. "I'm fine," she whispered into his neck, and then she looked up at Madam once more, this time prepared. "Come down here, Madam, and say thank you to Squirt for helping us out." She noticed how the Beautifly hesitated, and hoped she hadn't damaged their relationship further with her outburst. She still wanted to do right by the oversensitive bug. "It's alright, Madam. I'm not mad anymore, not at you." Squirt called up to her too, and that seemed to help. Dorthea stepped back, and let the 2 have a moment, before she called Madam back in her ball. Then she turned to Aglaia with an apologetic smile. "Sorry about that. It surprised me. Did you find something interesting?"~~ Diarm gave the pebble one last peck, before deeming it boring and following Freyr with an 'Okay!', that didn't quite indicate if he had understood Freyr fully or not. He did try to run faster, when Freyr hurried them on, and tumbled to a halt at the hole in the ground with a little help from the fox. He cocked his head at the black patch on the floor, and tried to squish closer to see if it could be pecked too. 'What is it?' he asked, when Freyr didn't let him get much closer. He looked around, when Freyr reacted to the sudden quietness, not understanding what the change meant, even though Freyr had already tried to explain about the battles and their need to sneak off. He brightened when Freyr invited him to pass him towards the black spot and jumped into action, only to disappointed the next moment, when Freyr stopped his advance. 'Why? I want to see too' he whined, but respected Freyr enough not to push it and stood still looking longingly behind him. (Ooc: Squirt evovles into Wartortle. He forgets Withdraw and learns Bite. Madam Evolves into Beautifly. She learns Gust(according to oras), forgetting Harden.)
