The Unown blinked at the words of the Fennekin, shifting in movement as Freyr apparently let the wild Pokemon have the first round of attacking so the Unown in the shape of the U launched a beam of sickly green energy towards the Fennekin. Meanwhile Freyr had the opportunity to launch a small fireball at the wild U-shaped Unown, finally managing to knock it out of the air. As the U-shaped Unown slowly descended onto the ground and closed its eyes, Thanh stayed into the air as he dived down at the E-shaped Unown, successfully striking the E-shaped Unown with his wing. Unown E's surprised reaction didn't help matters as it was launched against the wall from the attack. Visibly groaning in pain, Unown E launched a green-colored beam at Thanh in retaliation. It probably didn't want to go down without a fight, so Unown E would try its best to attempt finishing what its cohort tried to do. "They don't have to know the game to call back when called." Dorthea pointed out unconcerned, before letting go of Aglaia's shoulder and straightening herself a bit more to get proper power behind her yell. She didn't share Aglaia's reservations and was more than happy to oblige the request. "Heidrun! Diarm! Make noise so we can find you!" She called out once, and then let Aglaia have a turn. "Don't you think it's better that we switch? That way our words won't get muddled into each other." She voiced her immediate thoughts, as Aglaia's shout echoed out in the room. She listened a moment, and then called again after making sure she wasn't interrupting Aglaia or anything else for that matter. "Heidrun! Diarm! Make a sound!"~~ Diarm was too busy encouraging Freyr in the gameplay to listen to anything else. He watched intently as Freyr spit embers at the U shaped player, and he cheered as it fell to the ground, jumping up and down in delight. Meanwhile Heidrun found out, that Wystan was a very serious bug indeed, and her lighthearted joke was wasted, but she shrugged this off as she listened to his explanation of what had happened. "Everything always looks the same from down here," she commented and looked around at the debris surrounding them and further up to the high ceiling above. "Unfortunately, I never was very talented with strings." She thought about it for a bit, but she could barely remember if she had ever used a proper string shot before, and shook her head at herself. She listened for whatever Wystan had heard, but the noise of the battle was somewhat distracting. She definitely heard something the second time around. "I think I heard my name?"At the same time Diarm started chirping loudly, engrossed with the battle. "You got them now, Freyr! Catch the other one too!"Wordcount: 314

Aglaia nodded as she fully agreed with Dorthea's suggestion to take their turn, although she had half expected that to be obviously. She tensed after having called out the first time in the expectation of something to happen but for now everything was quiet. She called out again and let Dorthea had a turn before she gestured for her to be quiet. If their pokemon were far away they might not hear the answer if they were shouting away themselves. She stiffened and strained her ears. "That could be Wystan," She whispered excitedly but had trouble pinpoint the direction. "Wystan, Freyr, Thanh! Where are you?! Make a sound so I can hear you!" She called out in another direction and then cupped her hands behind her hears to hear better. Aglaia's eyes widened and she turned to Dorthea when she definitely heard something that sounded like one of Dorthea's pokemon, and she pointed silently in the direction she thought she had heard it coming from, while looking questioningly at Dorthea. Had she heard the same?
~~~
Freyr grinned when the U went down and Diarm's cheer filled his ears. This was wonderful, with no humans around he was free to do as he pleased, no need to worry about acting nobly and not getting dirty, he could fight with all his might. Of course he would need to clean up before the trainers arrived but for now he was free! He aimed his fires at the remaining unown while doing his best to keep track of Thanh to avoid hitting him too, and in the end waited until the ducklett was far away from their opponent before he let the fires burn.
Thanh was pleased to see the U go down and turned around to target the E without thinking much about if Freyr would be in the way or not. He didn't expect there to be any problems as he dived more or less straight down on the unown to send it into the ground to its companion.
Wystan didn't get what Heidrun was talking about first when she talked about being bad at using strings, but while he was buzzing up in the air to try listen for the calls it hit him. String shot could of course mark where they had been! Wystan couldn't help but grin even though he failed and pinpoint where the calls came from, even if they didn't have String Shot at their arsenal other moves surely could be used. Why hadn't he thought of that before?
The beedrill dropped down beside Heidrun and grimaced as Diarm began cheering loudly, he glanced at the battle and guessed it would be over soon, hopefully the ruckus wouldn't attract more. "It's a great idea to mark where we have been, I'm certain we can find a solution for that," Wystan said eagerly to Heidrun and looked up. "I could use some help listening and down here it is impossible to hear anything, will you come along?" Wystan asked politely as he gestured upwards and studied the joltik for her reaction to his proposal. If she accepted he would let her climb his back and carry her into the air, so they better could hear the calls, hopefully. "Beee-eee!" He called out at one point as an answer to what he think he heard and strained his ears.
Unown E was still very distressed about the fact his friend Unown U had just been taken down. Its eye narrowed and was seeing this fight was most likely over in the next hit. It started to charge a green beam with its eye that was sure to be a powerful force. But a powerful move needs time to charge up and Freyr wanted to act fast. Freyr quickly built up flames in his mouth. Working out he had some time to charge his flame he fired it stronger than before! Hitting the Unown E for critical damage. The Unown let out a soft whimper as it was hit before falling to the floor. The trainless Pokemon seem to be doing well on their own, must have been taught well.
Dorthea almost held her breath in an effort to be silent between shouts. She turned her head this way and that, to better pinpoint the sounds that weren't their own. The noise from what Aglaia thought was Wystan was too short lived to give a proper hint, but then Diarm starting chirping; and she had no doubt it was him; the continuous stream of noise made for decent tracking. She nodded at Aglaia's pointing arm. "That seems to be the way. Let's check it out." Dorthea whispered and went straight in the direction Aglaia was pointing. Despite the slight echo-like tendency of the place Dorthea felt sure the voices they heard were the right ones. ~~ Heidrun was surprised when Wystan dropped down beside her again. "I wasn't..." she began, as Wystan sounded like his idea to mark places came from somewhere else than himself. She never finished the sentence, as she sensed they had been talking passed each other, and it didn't really matter. The idea had merit. To her even greater surprise Wystan offered what she had only been half wishing: to carry her up in the air. "It will be my pleasure." She said and climbed up, settling carefully on his back. She was eager to see the world from a higher point of view. As they rose, she thought of something in extension to marking places. "What if we make a 'visual shout' instead of our voices? If we can get high enough, maybe we can make a flash of light for our trainer's to spot. Surely they must be looking this way with how much noise that Torchic is making. Maybe my Thunderwave is bright enough..." She voiced her thoughts. She waited for Wystan's thoughts on the matter. There was no way she was zapping another flying friend unintentionally twice in the same day. If he agreed to the idea, she would very carefully aim a flash of the wave towards the ceiling away from Wystan. If Wystan flew still enough for it, Heidrun also walked a circle around herself to get a full panorama view of the room, hoping to be able to spot the trainers already. On the ground Diarm continued chirping and jumping, only going wilder when Freyr hit the last one. He cheered for a while more, and only calmed down if Freyr told him to, one way or another. When he had quieted down, he asked a bit out of breath. "What to play now?" He ran in a circle around Freyr, and included Thanh too, if the Ducklett landed close by. "Do we catch more of the black ones? Are they hiding? Are we playing hide or seek?" He had obviously forgotten that they were looking for the girls. Wordcount: 459
A smile that was both relieved and triumphed became visible shortly and Aglaia´s face, before she grew serious once more. They were not out of the woods yet, or cave, even though they probably had the direction pinned down by now. If the unowns had played a trick on their mind, the sounds might as well be and Aglaia stayed alert as she followed Dorthea.
~~~
The chance for Freyr to use his ember came faster than he had expected and he sent it flying while Thanh was still diving, forcing the bird to veer off. He was in no danger of getting hit and even if he had it wouldn´t have bothered him that much. He watched as the unown collapsed like the other and paid it no attention after that. It wouldn´t do any harm now and he got distracted by Wystan who flew into the air.
Freyr proudly stood when he defeated the last unown and Diarm´s cheering only strengthened that feeling. He pranced over to the young torchic and let him be excited for a bit until he began to feel embarrassed about it. He hadn´t done it all by himself. "Alright Diarm, thanks but that is more than enough," Freyr said with a laugh and gave the torchic a gentle nudge with his paw. "You can do just as much and we should look at what to do now. There might be more coming or other things to play," he continued cheerfully and shook the dust out of his fur. As his young friend eagerly asked him about what they should do now, Freyr looked up at the others flying above them. He was torn, he wanted time away from the trainers, time to be himself and enjoy playing with Diarm, but he had to admit that he too felt the cave a bit unnerving by now and that the others clearly wanted to find the humans. He sighed, the fun for him was probably over for him now, but he reminded himself he would get other chances. He smirked mischievously to Diarm, while his fun might be over there was no reason to stop it for Diarm just yet. The young flightless bird would experience plenty of time with nothing else than hard work in training for the humans, they were like that, either you trained to become a strong battler or you were required to be a pretty accessory. Freyr was certain he was going to be the last and the plans for Diarm would be the first, but for now the torchic should enjoy the freedom he had. "We´re going to play hide and seek, our humans have hidden somewhere and we need to find them!" He said secretly to Diarm and gestured with his head to the other pokemon above them. "They are looking too, so we´re all playing and looks like it is a real challenge!" He explained and would be pleased with any excitement from Diarm.
Wystan didn´t catch Heidrun´s beginning protest as he was too excited over her great idea for a solution. He smiled genuine to her when she accepted his offer of a ride and nimbly carried her into the air. He grinned when she aired the idea of letting them be pinpointed by light as well as the sound. "Where do all those ideas of yours come from? That would never had sprung to my mind, but i don´t have any ways of creating flashes myself," He praised her and noted it down mentally as it could come in handy another time. "Just be careful, I don´t fancy both of us dropping to the ground if you manage to paralyze me in the process," he said with a chuckle. Heidrun would have plenty of options to take a good look around, and a steady platform from where to send out her thunder wave, since Wystan as a bug was capable of hovering in the air.
Thanh came flapping closer to see what the two bugs where doing and gave a loud quack in surprise when he had to dodge a Thunder wave. He kept a safe distance and looked warily at Heidrun, although he didn´t think she had tried to hit him, she might sent out more!

Dorthea and Aglaia had made good progress through the alphabet soup of Unown that made this particular chamber of the Ruins of Alph home. Without a few species remaining for them to see, it was definitely exciting for both the trainers as well as the Pokemon that watched them. It wasn't often that trainers spent so much time within the Ruins; the Unown were ready for an unknown factor. With the demise of U and E, A and ! sulked in the shadows, waiting for the right opportunity. Despite the fact they had solid expressions, emotion wasn't lost on the individual 'mon at heart.
A wiggled in anticipation as the Pokemon in the chamber interacted with eachother. While there wasn't necessarily a pull to have a trainer boss it around, A was definitely interested in battle. It's companion, !, seemed rather nonplussed. For being such an energetic punctuation, it simply bounced and hovered nearby A. With the mention of games and hide and seek, A couldn't take it any longer. Leaving its spot in the shadows to join the Pokemon, ! was forced to follow its companion as well out of sheer camaraderie. There weren't many Unown left that were willing to show themselves, after all! They had to stick together!

At the mention of the humans Diarm spun around himself, looking for them. He looked up too, as Freyr had indicated something up there with his head. "They aren't here!" Diarm claimed, his excitement teetering into something less pleasant, as he started to feel unsure about the rules of the game. He looked up to the ones in the air again. "They are looking for the humans too?" He tried to understand it clearly. He looked to Freyr for guidance. "And we are all looking together? Whoever gets to our humans first wins?" An affirmative from Freyr was enough to spark Diarm's energy again, and he jumped with an "Okay", but instead of immediately running off in a random direction, he actually used a moment to study in which direction Wystan and Thanh were moving. The second they looked to choose a direction, he set off the same way, hopping and jumping up and around any rocks and walls that would stand in his way. "I'm getting there first!" He challenged Freyr, sure that whatever the flyers had spotted was their goal. Despite his claim, he was continuously making sure that Freyr was within eye shot. ~~ Heidrun carefully aimed a Thunder wave upwards at Wystan's reassurance, and then winced when Thanh had to dodge it. Why did that bird keep surprising her like that? After making sure she knew where he was in the air, she aimed a second thunder wave, and looked around once more for the girls. When she finally spotted them, one was waving their hand in the air, and Heidrun felt relieved. Soon the whole flock would be gathered again. "They are down there to the right. Do you see them?" She asked Wystan, and crawled a bit further out, so she could see more of the space beneath them. She saw the two bright spots of the Fennekin and Torchic a little behind them, when Wystan began moving towards the girls. She saw both groups moving closer, but she also saw as two black letters appeared from thin air fairly close to the girls, with Freyr and Diarm still too far away to do anything. Heidrun didn't remember what other Pokemon the girls had with them for protection, and she made a split second decision. Her and Wystan were closer, almost midway between the girls and the two floor bound pokemon. She could make it if she jumped. "I've got it covered." She said with confidence, before she took what little runup she could get from Wystan's back, and then sprang in to air, aiming to get as close to the Unowns as possible while falling down. If she happened to land on one of them, all the better, but otherwise she would just scuttle up to the closest one and take a bite. That ought to get their attention. ~~ There came a pause in the noises from Diarm, and Dorthea worried for a second if he was alright, but then something flashed in the air, and as she looked up, she saw both Wystan and Thanh flying about. She grimaced at the unwelcome discomfort that followed the sight of Thanh's flapping, and forced a hand in the air to wave at them. Neither of them were her Pokemon, but at least hers would be close by. "There they are" she uttered, and was happy she could sound relieved. She wanted to run to meet them faster, but found herself trailing close behind Aglaia instead. She berated herself for the action, and knew she was secretly hoping for Aglaia to call back Thanh, before Dorthea herself could greet her own Pokemon. She berated herself even further, when two more Unowns popped up almost right in front of them. She should have been the one standing in front, and calling out her trusted starter to protect them. "That is right, they are hiding and we have to find them!" Freyr told Diarm while the young torchic looked around trying to spot their humans. He nodded as confirmation to that they were all searching and 'playing' this new game, and blinked surprised when Diarm asked if the first who found them won. He thought about it for a bit, and then shrugged it could just as well be the rules as anything else, as long as the goal was the same. "Yes, so we better get looking!" Freyr said pretending excited and had expected Diarm to start running around in a frantic search with no tactic. He was baffled when the torchic used logic and not only concluded that Wystan and Heidrun in the air had better chances of finding the humans, he also read the signs that they had and tried to beat them to be the first! It took Freyr a moment to get over it and then he sprinted after Diarm, this was more like a race than a game of hide and seek, but whatever as long as Diarm had fun.
~~
Wystan quickly spotted their trainers when Heidrun pointed them out. "Yes! Good job!" he said relieved but didn't immediately race towards them. Instead he turned to look after the others to make sure they all followed and they were not losing anyone else before moving towards the girls. "Wait, what?!" He exclaimed and was not prepared for Heidrun suddenly jumping off him, he buzzed after her but she was falling much faster than he could dive. He might be good at hovering but diving speed wasn't his strongest skill.
~~
Aglaia too looked up at the flashes and smiled when she recognized her pokemon, a frown appeared a moment later when she wondered how on earth one of those two had learned to do that! "Yeah..." Aglaia answered distractedly, "how do you think they managed to make that flash? It shouldn't be a thing they know," she asked not noticing how Dorthea withdrew leaving her in front. Not that it bothered her at the moment, it was fine if Dorthea wanted to bring up the rear and Aglaia set a brisk pace to meet their pokemon as fast as possible, she wanted to get out of here.
She stopped abruptly when two more unowns floated out to meet them and she scowled. A quick glance at the visible pokemon told her that they were too far away to get there in time, and since her patience was run thin she went for the safe option: her starter. The ivysaur appeared in a flash and blinked to adjust his sight to the dim light night in the ruin, he barely could make out the floating letters in front of them. He sighed as he knew what was coming. "Saury, give them a Razor Leaf, and quick!" Aglaia ordered and hoped it was enough, he was going to be stronger now he had evolved, right?
Razor leaf was a such widespread attack that he didn't really had to aim, as long as he got them sent in the general direction it usually worked. He flung leaves from his bulb and filled the air with them.
Aglaia's attention shifted when she noticed something yellow dropping through the air and Wystan diving after it. It was dropping right towards the unowns and the leaves that was sent towards them, and Aglaia narrowed her eyes as she tried to see what it was. "Oh no, Heidrun!" She gasped when she realized what it was, horrified as she feared one of the leaves could cut the tiny bug in half! Now the light before made much more sense.

The arrival of the trainers bothered ! more than it would A. The two Unown spoke to each other in whispers. ! seemed to pause as it floated in the air, less enthusiastic as A. ! shook itself noticeably back and forth, while A bounced energetically up and down in the air. Clearly, one wanted to engage the trainers more than the other one. The black letter shaped Pokemon floated over excitedly, followed closely behind by the exclamation point Pokemon. Only the howling sound in the distance could have distracted them - something completely unknown lurking somewhere unseen perhaps? Or was it simply the wind, licking at the entrance to the ruined Alphs? A small yellow blur seemed to tumble from the sky above. The two spun in the air but totally disregarded it as the large quadrupedal plant-dinosaur with a large pink bulb upon its back seemed to step up to the plate. ! hung back at a distance, more unsure now than it had been just seconds prior to the match. A, ever the go-getter, spedily floated towards its opponent, ready to meet the other Pokemon head-on. The barrage of sharp leaves would cut them both in their tracks, causing the two mysterious Unowns to fall out of the air and to the floor below. A squealed out in pain and shock as the sharp, razor edges of the green grassy leaves cut and slashed at the Pokemon. ! tried to float after its partner in concern as soon as A took the hit, only to be attacked seconds later. The leaves ripped at the exclamation point Pokemon, causing a shrill cry to tumble out of its lips before it would fall to the earthen floor beside its friend. Heidrun spred her legs wide to create a bit of draft and cushion her fall as she got closer to the target. She could feel the air brushing against her hairs, and shifted to get her angle in landing just right. She was completely oblivious to the panic her action had caused Wystan, focused as she was on what lay ahead of her. She did however notice the big green body of the Ivysaur, and only then remembered what Aglaia at least had with. She also spotted the barrage of leaves being send out, and pulled her legs closer to fall just a bit faster. If she timed it right, she could find protection on the floor, or even behind the body of the Unown under attack. She landed with a small bounce and scuttled as fast as her legs could carry her behind the closest protruding formation on the floor. Just in the nick of time. Leaves zipped by above but looked to have lost a good deal of their speed too. When no more leaves came by, Heidrun climbed up on the rock to have a look, and only then did she realise how silly her action had been. Of course their trainers hadn't left themselves completely undefended. A bit shameful about it she stayed put, and waited for the girls to get to her around the Unowns. Better not risk getting into more trouble. If Wystan landed beside her she would apologise meekly. "I'm sorry about that. I thought they needed help."~~ "Aw, they are getting first!" Diarm complained when he had finally got past the worst hurdles and could see all the groups ahead. He tried to speed up, not giving up just yet, and was gasping from the exercise when he next asked Freyr: "Are the Unowns playing too?" He could see two more of the black letter Pokemon, and they looked even closer to their trainers than Wystan and Thanh. Then he laughed as the Unowns tumbled to the floor in one fell swoop, outing them from the game completely. He and Freyr were quickly getting closer now, so close in fact, Diarm noticed the small yellow spider, and how she wasn't running for the goal like him. They still had a chance, he decided at this, and dashed forward, paying no mind for the downed Unowns as he aimed for Dorthea with the expectation her arms would be ready for him. He began chirping in excitement several feet before them. ~~ Dorthea just shrugged at Aglaia's comment about the light. She hadn't paid it any thought, and wasn't going to in the moment. What did it matter where a light had come from so long they had found their Pokemon again? She made an effort to keep her gaze grounded and only looked up occasionally to know the Pokemon were still there, so Aglaia's distress and mention of Heidrun caught her off guard "Heidrun where?" she asked worried, and tried to follow Aglaia's line of sight. She couldn't see the Joltik though, and looked at Aglaia to try and understand what was going on. The Unowns had been handled beautifully by Saury. Apart from Thanh, she saw nothing to worry about. "Wow, your Saury is really strong." she commented, looking at the result for a moment. When she raised her eyes again, she spotted the small yellow body on a stone behind the Unowns, and she smiled and waved. "Oh, there you are, Heidrun. What are you doing there?" The next moment Diarm came chirping, and running like mad, Dorthea had to bend down and prepare for collision. She laughed, happy for the distraction. "You crazy guys. Wystan wasn't good at speed but he was good at quick turns, he made an abrupt halt and hovered over the flying leaves while he looked down worried. As soon as the unowns were brought down and Saury had stopped the attack, he dived down to land on the ground beside Heidrun. "Are you hurt? Should I get the humans?" He asked worried while he studied her intently. He wouldn't believe her words of being alright, before she had showed him she could walk just fine and that she didn't have some dire wounds from getting cut by the leaves. When he was sure she was okay she exhaled and grinned relieved to her. "Please warn me before you do something like that, you almost gave me an heart attack!" He confessed. Than had plopped down a bit away and watched, as soon as it looked like Wystan was done and he could interrupt without being rude, he waddle over. "When did you learn to fly?" The ducklett asked the spider curious.
~~
As Diarm complained about the others winning, Freyr thought to himself that he would have to teach the young one other games than racing. Diarm could certainly benefit to learn some teamwork, though he of course worked fine with Freyr, but it wasn't certain they would be able to play together forever. "I.. I don't think so" Freyr answered panting, he continued to get surprised by the torchic's speed. "That's why Saury got them to move out of the way," he further explained. As they got closer he slowed down and let Diarm take the lead. To him it was not a good thing to return to the humans, it meant the end of fun time and that he'd have to think about he acted. He made a quick check and gave his dusty fur a good shake so that he was presentable and then elegantly padded over to join the humans, with a reserved smile of Diarm's enjoyment.

Aglaia didn't see Dorthea's reaction and was about to ask again, when she noticed Heidrun and made her exclamation. "Yeah, I just hope he didn't hit Heidrun!" Aglaia said with a wince and glanced at Dorthea, confused about why she was so calm about it all. As Dorthea cheerfully greeted the joltik Aglaia turned to stare directly at her, she glanced back and guessed from Wystan's behavior that the tiny spider was alright. "You didn't see what happened? Hedirun fell through the air and almost got hit by the Razor leaf!" Aglaia asked baffled as Dorthea happily greeted Diarm. Aglaia shook her head and checked that Freyr had made it safely back as well, she was too shocked by what could have just have happened to relax let go of it.
Aglaia paused when she spotted something. "Ehm, Dorthea? Above you?" Aglaia said quietly and pointed at the unown that was making their way down towards them.

Wild Pokemon seemed to shift in the air nervously. Their voices could be heard if one were absolutely quiet and were listening to their surroundings. Differently shaped, small black Pokemon with large white eyes conversed back and forth to each other. From their witnessed eyes, two of their brethren had fallen prey to this sickeningly powerful assortment of Pokemon. The monstrous quadrupedal green dinosaur with dark green splotches for markings and a huge pink bulb surrounded by an assortment of leaves for a bed on its back, had managed to slash and gash away at A and !. It was too late! Quickly, a couple of U Unown and E Unown broke through the silence – dashing into the light before the two trainers only to scoop up their fallen comrades and disappear back into the shadows. Should the girls lurch deeper into the ruined Alphs, this singsong hushed sound of whispers and muted squeaks would surely follow them. Then one of the Unowns – oddly shaped as a curved hook with a large floating eye that dangled just beneath it – plopped out into the open in front of skirted mistress, her brunette cousin, and their collected assortment of partner Pokemon. The way that the ? appeared, it was obvious that another Pokemon dared it with a push and a shove into the light. Shortly after, an angry and disgruntled Unown plopped out from the shadows, hovering up above and squeaking to its counterpart to join it in the daring challenge. Although the ? complied, floating up beside its friend, it was clear who called the shots out of the two Unowns. The line Unown with a large white eye fixated in its center challenged the team, obviously ready to repay them for the cruel and inhumane treatment of their fallen comrades. Unown I [Level 12] and Unown ? [Level 8] have appeared! What will Dorthea and Algaia choose to do? Shiny Check:c7kA8wIU1-42 1-421-42·1-42

Even if Wystan hadn't meant to, Heidrun felt chastised at his concern. She wriggled her body and legs to show all was attached properly, and pointed behind the stone she was sitting on. "I'm fine. I managed to seek shelter here." She smiled softly at his following relief and nodded agreeable. "I'll do my best to warn you first." She promised, even if she thought she had warned him. Maybe she hadn't expressed her intentions clear enough. Thanh's question stunned her a moment, but she shook it away, and said truthfully: "I haven't, but I do controlled falls well enough." Heidrun was getting suspicious, she would never truly understand what went on in the Ducklett's head. ~~ Even though Dorthea was distracted by the enthusiastic Torchic, she did sense Aglaia's discomfort and looked up at the cousin from her squatted down position. She glanced back at Heidrun and Wystan at Aglaia's explanation. "No, I didn't see anything, but she looks fine, doesn't she? She's moving and everything." Dorthea couldn't let herself be concerned for a matter that now seemed moot. With Diarm dancing around her she couldn't just walk up and check for sure either, and there was still the matter of Thanh putting her nerves on high alert. It was hard turning a blind eye, when the bird was standing right beside the subject of conversation. "Heidrun, come here. I wan't to check up on you too." She had done a superficial check of Diarm, while he was in her hands, but in reality his great energy said it all. He hadn't been hurt in their absence. Before Heidrun could respond on her request however, Aglaia's voice got her to look up, and she hurriedly scurried back, landing on her bottom in the process, as she got out of the Unowns' way. Whether it was an instinct of Diarm's, or just because he wanted to play, he put himself between Dorthea and the Unowns, but they only whisked their fallen comrades away, and left behind the eerie sound of their voices in the room, now Dorthea used a moment to listen. She shook herself free of the scare and got up looking around if more would show up. "Huh, that was a bit scary," she admitted with a laugh. "Thank you, Diarm. You're really brave." She added for Diarm's benefit, while she brushed off her pants. She then called for Heidrun again. The Joltik came, almost jumping into her hands, and Dorthea studied her a bit closer than Diarm just to be safe. In the end she let her crawl under her blouse once more. "Now we are together again, let's find that exit, shall we? Those Unowns are getting a bit much. Maybe they aren't used to company and are just very curious." She speculated lightly, trying to find a less scary idea than they were playing tricks and being mean. The trouble was of course, that they still didn't know where the exit was, and only a couple of steps in the first chosen direction another set of Unowns popped up. Having decided to be on the front line, and give Squirt a chance to show off too, Dorthea was quick to call out the Wartortle. "Squirt, dissuade the 'question' with a Bite" She called and reached out to stop Diarm from running into the fray again. The Torchic was after all still just a 'baby'. "No, Diarm. You stay with Freyr for now. Heidrun, be a dear and help Squirt out." ~~ While Heidrun hurried out to join Squirt on the floor, Diarm was crestfallen. He had been so excited until now, and had been ready to show just how well he played with the strangers now, and then he wasn't allowed to. "But I wanted to play too." he mumbled, though of course the human didn't catch this. She petted his head, but was quickly distracted by keeping an eye on the 'players'. Diarm turned to Freyr in confusion. "Why can't I play?"Wordcount: 666

Wystan nodded as Heidrun reassured him she was alright. "Yeah, but I didn't know you could manage a drop from such height without harm, I don't know you that well," he said kindly and shook his head at his own horror. "Thank you, but it will be hard if you think it is common knowledge. I'll keep in mind that other pokemon than the ones with wings can handle themselves in the air and that you know what you are capable off and trust your judgement should a similar situation appear," Wystan said as he thought aloud. The beedrill looked around and studied the pokemon he could see while he tried to figure out whom he trusted could handle themselves if needed, and realized that it was most of them. Heidrun he had seen more as a child due to her being so small, and there definitely was other pokemon he'd keep an eye on but he would be more hesitant to jump to a conclusion than he had this time.
Thanh tilted his head and was about to ask what the difference was when Hedirun raced away to join Dorthea. He shrugged, the joltik had looked like she had glided through the air, downwards more than forward of course but in his head it was more or less the same thing. That meant that some pokemon without wings could fly.
~~
That Dorthea hadn't seen what had almost happened explained a lot about her reaction. Aglaia felt a bit hurt though, that Dorthea almost acted like she didn't believe her, it had ended well and perhaps it was difficult to imagine what could have happened had it gone wrong. "Yeah, luckily," Aglaia mumbled glum but forgot it as another pair of unowns appeared and she quickly turned Dothea's attention to them. They disappeared with the couple of fallen unowns a moment later, back into the shadows but Aglaia kept looking around for others to appear. "And it can't go fast enough," Aglaia answered grimly to her cousin's suggestion to find the exit, she had had enough of all these letters and if she would ever return she would make sure she would be prepared to handle them swiftly, and have a way to find her way around these ruins.
Aglaia's awareness got "rewarded" with the arrival of yet another couple of floating letters. Dorthea was in front and quickly got her pokemon into action so Aglaia could concentrate on finding the way out. "It seems like the distorsion disappeared when the unowns appeared, the feeling of not knowing which way we walked and that the walls was far away is gone," Aglaia thought out loud as she looked around with a frown on her face. "Perhaps they either wants us out now or they are too few to do it, or perhaps they did it for some unknown reason and have stopped again," Aglaia shrugged and dropped the subject, it made no difference. "Wystan, Thanh, try get into the air and see if you can see the exit, but stay close!" Aglaia warned and they two beat their wings and took positions in the air above the girls heads. They excitedly pointed in the opposite direction of where the pokemon had come from, they could see light ahead! Aglaia turned surprised to look that way, they really had been confused and walked in circles as it had been in a completely different direction than she had expected.
~~
Freyr watched with well hidden sadness Diarm's disappointment, he understood the torchic's feelings but couldn't do anything to help. He had to act well mannered around the humans and was sitting daintily and patiently waited to be lead out of the ruins. He wanted to play too but hopefully he'd get another chance to sneak away.
"Because the others need to have fun as well," The fennekin said solemnly sighed quietly, "we can't always get what we want and while we're with the others we have to share so there is enough for everybody," he explained and bitterly thought that he would be one of the few that would be held back and would have to steal time for himself. "Don't worry, you'll get plenty of fun I'm sure of that," he added kindly and deliberately didn't include himself as he didn't want to lie, not even to himself.
