It had been a hectic week for Astrid, especially because her days usually were very quiet and hard to distinguish from one another. She had packet and repacked, taken Janus the joltik on smaller trips to prepare him for their journey, she couldn't really leave him at home, not when all her things would be turned off. It was first recently she learned that he fed on static electricity but it had explained why he had always loved her old television. It had brought a lot of surprises as well, the first one was her village self invited participation in her preparation and they had continued to drop by to offer their help and bring things that might be useful to her. It was that way she had got a pokeball for Janus as well extra ones, should she need to catch any other on her way. They also gave her a pokedex and had spent a whole evening chatting and laughing with her, as they had tried to teach her how to use it. When they had left her for the night, she had realized that maybe she had been the one who had pushed them away, and that had been why she had been lonely? After the break with the Lund family, she had put all her energy into trying to preserve the little contact she had left, and hadn't spent any time on finding new friends. She had gone to bed with a smile that night, happy that this journey turned out to bring much more good than she had ever dreamed about. She promised herself she would focus more on making new friends as well, she would meet a new pokemon soon, and to be more outgoing when she returned home to Bloomingvale. The morning she was leaving, she took one last walk around her garden which her neighbors had promised to look after and in a corner she rarely were used, she spotted something in between the bushes. It was a pokemon egg. She had heard enough about eggs from Aglaia, when her granddaughter had researched a lot about them, and she carefully laid a hand on the egg only to realize it was awfully cold. It looked like it had been laying there in a couple of days and Astrid tried to find someone in the town who wanted to take care of it. Beside the kids, a few had been up for the task until they heard how she had found it. "It was laid in your garden, in a place only you could find. Whoever laid it there wanted you to help it." Astrid was told. She tried to protest but they did not change their mind and instead found a warm blanket and helped her repack really quickly, so she got the space for it in the trolley bag. ~~ Astrid checked on last time, that she had got everything with her off the bus before she looked around in the small town she was in now. It had been good with a ride where she could collect her thoughts and mentally prepare for what she was about to do now. "This is it Janus, is it not going to be interesting to get a new friend?" Astrid asked her joltik, who turned around to look at her. He did not look too happy about it, but Astrid guessed it was because he was still unsure about anything new. "Don't get your expectations too high, you might get disappointed." He warned her, which she did not understand. ~~ Astrid smiled to the three pokemon standing in front of her, they looked both excited and unsure. they clearly wanted to be chosen and start on an adventure, but Astrid wasn't the usual type of trainer, and they weren't sure what to expect from her. Astrid placed her hands on her knees and leaned a bit forward towards them. "So tell me, do you like things to get nice and slowly or do you want excitement and running around?" She asked them, talking to them like they were children. All three cheered when she said the last and Astrid looked a bit sadly at them. "Unfortunately I cannot be that kind of trainer. I am too old and cannot run around. Is there any of you who wants to be my friend and can help me out in a bit slower pace?" She asked and the three starters looked hesitantly at each other, none of them really wanting to step forward now they actually had a chance to chose themselves. "I'm sorry professor, but I do not think this will work." Astrid said as she turned from the three reluctant start pokemon. "I cannot force any of them into helping me out when it clearly isn't what they want. They will hate it. Can we find another solution?"The professor looked thoughtfully at her for a long time before he asked her to wait a moment. He recalled the charmander, the bulbasaur and the squirtle and disappeared into the back of his lab. He returned shortly after with another pokemon in his arms. "This is a froakie who has been returned a few times by now, because she isn't going as fast. Perhaps she will fit you better?" He said and Astrid looked at the water frog, who looked dismissive at her. "Do you like a lot of excitement and battles and running through the tall grass? Or.." Astrid asked and the froakie shook her head furiously. No she did not! "So you like to take your time and take things as they come?" Astrid asked the froakie, who looked suspiciously at her. "I think this can work." She said with a smile to the professor. "We can take all the time we need, are you in for a walk?" She asked the Froakie, who still looked unsure at her. ~~ Soon after Astrid, Janus and the froakie was slowly walking along the road towards Cherrygrove City. There clouds looked heavy to Astrid and she was happy she had a raincoat within reach, should they chose to splash their content at her. A few hundred meters out of town, the froakie sat down and refused to walk one step further when Astrid called on her. "So you want a break? I guess it is a fine time for a snack, I haven't eaten since I was home this morning." Astrid said friendly which the froakie ignored. "I'm sure there is a good view up on top of that hill, are you coming? I think it is a good way to start our travel, enjoy the scenery and make sure we have the strength for the rest of the day." Astrid said and started to make her way up the small hill, which was more a mound than a hill. On top Astrid spread out a blanket and opened the chair in her trolley, which she could sit on after she had taken the things she needed out of her trolley. "Are you hungry Janus?" Astrid asked but the joltik shook his head, and Astrid put the battery back down into the bag again. "There you are, do you want something warm to drink? I have some tea, and I have a few other snacks as well if you are interested." Astrid said when she noticed that the froakie had joiend them, though she sat at the edge of the hill and looked warily at Astrid. What was she doing? "What is this?" Astrid said as she found a package she couldn't remember putting down there. "Oh! The gift from Aglaia!" She exclaimed, as she remembered it had been dropped off just before she had left. With the egg and all, she had completely forgot about it. She quickly opened it and it contained a pokeball and a short note. "Dear Granma, sorry this is a short notice, but I have this little guy who needs a good a quiet home. I hope you can give him what he needs, and I hope he can help you as I know Janus isn't very strong yet. Aglaia. PS, his name is Cyan.""Another pokemon, so soon?" Astrid said wondering before she called out the mudkip, who looked fearfully around. "Welcome to our group Cyan, I'm Astrid. Are you hungry?" She asked him as she knew eating was a good way of calming down. The mudkip looked around and as he knew no-one he tried to make himself as small as possible and closed his eyes fearfully. He was all alone again. "Oh, come here you little fool, there is nothing to be afraid of!" Astrid said warmly and picked him up to sit him on her lap. She more or less showed an apple chip into his mouth. Chewing while being comforted by the old woman, soon made the mudkip relax, and he started to dare he wasn't completely alone in the whole world. The froakie sat where she had been all the time and watched the scene. She wasn't sure what to think of this trainer, but she surely did things differently compared to what she was used to. Janus didn't see a thing as he was out exploring the grass which was much taller than what he had experienced in Astrid's garden. He had a bit of trouble finding his way back to the blanket. (eggcount: 400+ = 400/2000) Filled out the info for Janus the Joltik. JoltikName: Janus Gender: Male Level: 1 OT: Joey Johnson Attacks: String Shot, Leech Life, Spider Web, Pursuit EMAbility: Compoundeyes Nature/Personality: Serious. Shortly after his hatching he found his way into Astrid's house, where there were plenty of food for him, with her electrical devices. He has always been a serious child, never runnning around playing, but instead watching the world around him. He willingly gives others an advice if he thinks they need one, though their usefulness can be discussed.

As the older woman seemed to be occupied with pokemon,it seemed that another one was in the brush nearby. It had been out enjoying itself with the flock that it knew as home. However, the flock pokemon quickly began to move, and as the bird pokemon fell asleep, it soon discovered the unfortunate thing that it had been lost without any way of figuring out where its flying friends went earlier. The pidgey woke up with its eyes wide and confusion written on its face. The bird pokemon didn't even see, or hear where they went off as far as it was concerned, it felt loneliness and as well as abandonment to where its fellow comerads were. The pidgey was a decent sized one, maybe a bit smaller than the normal pidgey but it was definitely not a runt. "Pid ppid pid!" The bird pokemon called out to try and make contact with them but the bird pokemon could only hear the voices of the forest like other pokemon. And there wasn't a single pidgey to be heard. The pidgey scampered a bout on its two feet to figure out where it was. As it walked it spotted a trainer up a head and realized that this might be a problem if it got too close. The pidgey stepped nervously forward feeling its heart flutter in its chest. Nervousness and cautiousness were two good words to describe the feeling the bird pokemon had felt now. It had heard stories on how there were plenty of bad people out there and the pidgey figured this person might be one of them. If the pidgey did see danger afoot, it could always kick up dirt to create a mini sand storm. And with that, the pidgey let out another soft coo towards the trainer wondering if the woman had seen any other pidgeys nearby. "PId pid pidd!" It called out spotting a nearby pokemon with her that looked like a joltic and a froakie. Those were two pokemon that weren't native to the areas. But it still watched with some curiosity wondering what the trainer would do next. The moments ticked by so slowly you could've felt the breath of the forest. But as of now, the pidgey waited with wings ready to spread wide to flee at any moment. The pidgey was taking a big gamble this time. A wild (level 4) Pidgey has appeared! Do you want to challenge it to a battle?

Cyan was quickly to relax under Astrid's calm hands and soothing voice and he soon made himself comfortable on her lap. He knew nothing worse than being alone, having been abandoned in a unfamiliar place and left to fight for himself. His last trainer, who had found him, had been nice enough but she had thrown herself ontop of him and he had kept his distance in the fear she would hurt him again, and then she abandoned him as well. "Was it good with something to eat Cyan?" Astrid asked and chuckled as the mudkip yawned. It was a good feeling to make him relax in her company, which meant she wasn't a complete disaster with pokemon handling. "What do you think about him Janus?" Astrid asked and looked around. "Janus?" She repeated a bit worried and Cyan picked up on the changed tone immediately and rose his head to look nervously at her. "It's alright Cyan. I just don't know where Janus is, that is all." She reassured him, though he did not relax as much as before. "Did you see where he went?" She asked the froakie, who still sat at the edge and watched, now more curiously than stubborn. She raised a hand and pointed in the direction she had last seen the joltik. Astrid's surprised face made the froakie look and she groaned internally when she saw the pidgey. She knew what was going to happen now. Janus had found it interesting with how tall the grass was, and in his own way he found it funny to explore something so, different. Suddenly a pair of weird brown sticks stood in front of him and as he looked up to see what he expected to be green leaves, he instead saw the belly of a tall bird with a big beak just visible high up. That was how it was seen by him at least, and though he wasn't really scared since he had never really tried to fight for his life, he did spin around and race in the opposite direction of the bird. He stopped surprised when he was back on the blanket and as he turned to look at the pidgey, the distance make it look much smaller. "There you are Janus!" Astrid said happily and Cyan relaxed again when she sounded calm again. He studied the little yellow bug curiously. Now he felt a bit secure about staying with Astrid, he would like to know the others on the team. He was still so young he wasn't afraid of making new friends even though he had already been torn from a few due to changing trainers. "Wasn't that nicely done of the bird Cyan?" Astrid chatted and Cyan grinned to her, smitten by her good mood. "See, can't you take this to it as thanks for getting us Janus back?" Astrid asked Cyan as she gave him another applechip, which he ate promptly. Froakie smiled briefly as Astrid laughed and found another one, which he didn't get before Astrid was sure he understood was he was supposed to do with it. Cyan carefully took the chip in his mouth and carried towards the pidgey, but he hesitated when he reached the end of the blanket and looked unsure back at Astrid. "Go on. We need to show it our thanks." The old woman encouraged the mudkip, who after another moment of hesitation, nervously made his way through the grass. "I have dis bor you." He said through his teeth and stretched to offer the pidgey the snack. It wasn't a very balanced way he stood, stretched forward like that, not with the big head of his compared to the rest of his body, and suddenly he lost the balance and tumbled towards the pidgey. If he fell into it he would quickly roll away and stay low to the ground. "Sorrysorrysorrysorry, I didn't mean to.. I'm sorry!" He more or less cried as he backed away from the bird. "Trying to get it to play Cyan?" Astrid asked chuckling and the froakie sighed over how oblivious the woman was to what was really going on. She hoped it didn't get to the point where the woman understood and would order herself into battle. She didn't feel like doing that today, it was a long time since she had been out and she didn't want to destroy it by being sore and hurt the rest of the day. The apple chips looked interesting though and the froakie walked closer to see if she would be offered to taste them as well. "He's quite nervous, isn't he?" A voice asked her and the froakie looked surprised down at the joltik whom she had almost stepped on, though he either didn't care or hadn't noticed. "Seems so, yes." The froakie said a bit dismissively, and Janus looked questioningly at her. "Don't avoid friendship just because you are afraid of loosing them." He told her and turned to look at the interaction between the mudkip and the pidgey, while the froakie sent him a annoyed glance before she hurried on to the old woman. (ooc: Janus is "sent" in first and Cyan "switches in" and uses "tackle", if this is going to be a battle wordcount: 400+ = 800/2000)

The Pidgey lowered it's spread wings as it watched the Joltik dash back towards the blanket where it's owner sat. Surrounded with a number of Pokemon, she was certainly intimidating at first but then she actually spoke and the avian became relativity calm. Not jumping to her feet and ordering an attack, the elderly lady had a sense of warmth about her, one that led any hints of fear to leave the bird's body. Truthfully, it wanted nothing more than to fly away and attempt to find it's flock but now that it was amongst the group, a part of it didn't want to leave. Finding life to be much more comfortable when surrounded with others, the fact that the Pidgey preferred the idea of staying around a group of strangers to flying off proved to the bird that maybe it was just too dependent on others. Tilting it's beak away, the Pidgey feigned a reason to remain in their space. Hopping on it's small feet, the bird pecked at the ground randomly before hopping off once again.
Unaware that Cyan was approaching with a gift of a delicious apple chip, the Pidgey turned as soon as the Mudkip did, resulting in the two of them colliding off one another. Dropping the chip from his mouth, the Mudkip cried out apologies in his own tongue, whilst the Pidgey flapped it's wings about manically on the spot out of surprise. Cooing defensively, the bird noticed that Cyan was standing back up and out of panic, suddenly attacked again. Running forward and tackling into the body of the water type, the Mudkip was sent skidding backwards, both of them staring at one another wearily. This certainly wasn't a normal battle but more of an awkward attempt of fitting in. Both Pokemon held the fear of being abandoned which resulted in nervousness and being over defensive. Especially in the Pidgey's case, after being left behind so recently.
Still, to show that the bird held no hard feelings, it slowly skipped forward, eyeing the apple chip that Cyan had dropped. Pecking at it cautiously, the avian began to eat away at the delicious present. It hadn't vocally accepted Cyan's apology but perhaps this gesture of acceptance was enough to relieve any guilt he may have had after the accidental tackle.

Cyan pressed himself to ground as the watched the pidgey with a fearful stare, his whole body tense as he knew he was in the line to yet another attack from the bird. He did not want to fight, mostly because that hadn't been his intention and in his mind he would make it even worse if he retaliated. Then it would really seem like it had been his intention all the time. The two tackles from the pidgey had hurt so when it took a few steps forward, Cyan quickly back away from it. The way it noe chose to take the snack after having attacking him, didn't make him trust it any more and he actually saw it as a bit rude. Like it had been aggressive towards him and now rather took the chip than actually accepted it as a gift from him.
Astrid had watched the meeting closely and it soon became clear why Aglaia had had toruble with the mudkip as it looked like a nervous wreck who needed a lot of time and comfort. Things that Astrid had more than enough of. "Oops, that could have gone better, couldn't it Cyan?" Astrid asked warmly, but he still ducked his head by his words murmuring another sorry to the pidgey and Astrid sighed. She had to be careful on her wording, Cyan was surely a sensitive one! "Relax Cyan, you are doing great and it was just an unfortunate incident. See? It is eating the snack, I'm sure it just wants to be friends." She continued and Cyan raised his head little bit, was that really how it was? He looked questioningly at the pidgey, did it look angry at him or not. "Try again Cyan, I wouldn't be surprised if it will like to play with you. No battle, just a fun play time with a playmate. Won't that be nice?" Astrid asked and Cyan rose a bit more, now looking hopefully at the pidgey. That really would be nice. He couldn't remember when he had last had time to play for fun and it hadn't not always been battle on battle. He slowly rose and tilted his head questioningly at the pidgey. "Do you wanna play?" He asked it hopefully and sent it a tentative smile. If the Pidgey agreed Cyan would, very hesitant, start to jump around the pidgey and give it a small nudge before hurrying away again. He was trying to start a game of tac, though he did not know the name. If the pidgey was up for it his "nudgings" would be much harder, mostly because he had trouble slowing down when he was racing around and therefore more or less tumbled into the bird.
The froakie reached Astrid and the old woman smiled to her and held the bag of apple chips towards her as an offer for her to take some. The froakie looked surprised at her, before she quickly took a few peices and started chewing, while she looked between Cyan and Astrid, wondering about what was happening. "I would very much like to continue after we are done eating. There is still quite a way to Cherrygrove and I don't think I'm able to sleep outside as it is for now." Astrid told the froakie while she still looked at Cyan and his attempted play sesion. The froakie looked puzzled at her, why did she tell her that, almost like she was explaining herself, though it didn't really sound like she was asking for permisison. That would also have been very strange, a trainer asking for permission from her own pokemon? That surely never happened! "I'm going to need something to call you as well, is Ella okay with you?" The froakie stared at Astrid. Had she just asked her for permission for something? Astrid turned to smile at the froakie, who after a moment of disbelief just shrugged. Her trainer could call her what she wanted, she didn't care. Beside it wasn't the worst name she had heard yet, as she had had plenty with all her young and reckless trainers. She smiled at the thought of one of the more funnier one: Niña. "Ella it is." Astrid said pleased as she thought Ella's smile came from her liking her new name. Janus had once again gone exploring into the tall grass.

A ruffle of it's feathers once, and then once again it was ruffled. Beak down and eyes to the side of it's head, the pidgey could see what the mudkip was doing, it was trying to budge and get the bird's attention. The Pidgey had eaten part of the apple chip before it's attention was fully pulled away from the food that it was given. The pidgey's head perked up, twitching side to side as it watched the jolly pokemon run circles around it before it had stopped in front of the bird pokemon.
The Aviary fluffed it's feathers a bit, and hopped upwards as it gazed at the trainers pokemon. Cyan had appeared to have sat leaning down towards the ground and hopping about in attempt to get the bird to play with him. As the bird watched it contemplated on weather it should take up this trainer's pokemon in his request to play a game. A game of chase looked like it was in order, and the pidgey became interested.
It fluttered it's wings a bit to lift itself off the ground, and began to fly upwards slightly off the ground. It appeared to seem to keep close enough to the ground that Cyan could reach it, but not so low as to touch the ground. as it flew forwards dust did pick up a bit and it flew up and around the mudkip. As it watched the mudkip respond, it flew forwards, showing that it had accepted Cyan's offer.
Cyan, however, was slightly confused with the way the flying pokemon responded to his offer to play. The mud fish pokemon simply watched in wonder as the Pidgey left the rest of the apple chip on the ground and took off. Soon enough the bird returned to him, and flew around again. The mudkip was unsure if he was to chase the bird till about the third time the bird flew around. And with that Cyan was off, rushing forward as fast as his small legs would allow him, he jumped into the air, and ended up tumbling the bird to the ground.
As the rolled around it the dirt, the pidgey kicked dirt in the eyes of the water type in anger. Squaking in anger on how rough Cyan was with the play. Not that Cyan was meaning to harm the bird in any way, he just was a bit excited when he was notified of the pidgey wanting to play with him. a quiver came to his face, as his eyes burned a bit, but it didn't seem to harm him any.

At first Cyan got relief the bird didn't have any hard feelings towards him and actually wanted to play with him as well. Then he got really excited, there was someone who wanted to play with him! A game was all fun, as there were no need to be afraid of scary opponents, disappointed trainers when he didn't succeed and then the loneliness which came when he was abandoned. The mudkip jumped around and shook his head from enjoyment, ecstatic about not having to fear about being left behind againt, at least for now.
He stopped abruptly and stared in amazement when Pidgey left the ground to soar around. He had seen plenty of flying pokemon before, but it had always been at a distance or while he was expected to fight them, which was horrible as he had never could reach them. Now he was relaxed it was different though and he gaped in wonder as the bird flew above him and he was awed by its gracefulness. Then he became unsure about what to do. If they were going to play, then he should chase it, right? But how should he do that if it was up in the air? He watched the pidgey as it swooped up and down in soft curves as it flew around him. He raised his head a bit and looked wondering at it, perhaps it was its way of playing? Perhaps he could really reach it if he tried jumping really high? He raced forward and jumped with all he got after the Pidgey.
"Wohohoo, what a jump Cyan! That was impressive!" Astrid laughed as the two playing pokemon rolled around on the ground and the pidgey kicked sand in the face of him as revenge. Ella paused her chewing to watch with a slight frown. "Do you want another one?" Astrid asked and Ella looked distracted at her, and took the apple chip she was offered. "He is a bit rough on it, isn't he?" Astrid said a bit thoughful later. "I guess the bird will just take off, if it doesn't find it funny anymore, but if he doesn't calm down I better talk with him." Astrid said aloud, and Ella looked at her, but the old woman didn't look like she expected to get any answers.
Cyan had too much fun to notice the pidgey's reaction. "Sorry!" He grinned and rubbed a paw against his face as he tried to get the sand out. Then he jumped away from the pidgey. "Now you should try catch me!" He shouted and raced through the grass. He wouldn't cheat, but if he got a chance to poke the pidgey he would do so.
If Cyan rammed the pidgey so hard it wouldn't be able to continue any further, the mudkip would stop confused and then, as he would realize what had happened, start to apologize devestated. If Cyan was the one who couldn't continue, he would run to Astrid crying.
Either way, if the game was over, Ella would step forward. "Was it you who called out earlier? Do you need any help?"
(Wordcount: +400 = 1600/2000 Still "tackling" the pidgey, and the thing about what happens if the battle ends next round, is just because I would like to try help the pidgey out ^^)

Vs. Pidgey - - - - - - - - - - - - - Fatigue was beginning to dull the bird's senses, inviting it to simply give up on this most unusual session of play and rest. It gave itself a quick shake to remind it to stay awake; taking a nap on its 'foe' would be most rude. Cyan seemed to shrug off the sand in his eyes with good grace, leaving some of the Pidgey's lingering anger to dissipate away. Perhaps it had acted too rashly in retaliating with its sand kicking, something the other Pidgey had frowned upon. If Pidgey wanted a chance to play with this strange blue Pokémon and his nice trainer, that kind of behaviour would have to go.
Chirping inquisitively as it struggled through the fog in its mind, the tan and cream bird watched Cyan jump up and dart away into the grass. With the game back on, the excitement made Pidgey alert enough to flutter its wings before it followed after the Mudkip on two feet. Flying was out of the question with its flagging strength, meaning Cyan would have the advantage as Pidgey was not quite as adept on the ground. Hearing the rustling grass as his friend came in, Cyan pounced.
It was done with nothing but good intentions, but Cyan had misjudged his distance from Pidgey just a slight bit. Instead of landing in front of it, the Mudkip instead crashed down on its back and sent it sprawling to the ground with a defeated squawk. Scrambling off, Cyan took one look at the unmoving bird and immediately babbled out a torrent of apologies, saddened by his accidental 'Tackle'. It didn't take long for Pidgey to stir somewhat, eyes sliding from Cyan to Ella as the Froakie came over with an inquiry.
Managing to chirp out a small story, it explained that it had indeed called to them earlier, because it had been distraught from being separated from its flock. Seeking out any kind of friendly company, it had come across Astrid's group while looking for a way to ease its new loneliness, Pidgey resting its head on the ground again as it finished speaking. The play had been fun, even if it was over now, but perhaps there was hope for it yet...

"I didn't mean to!" Cyan apologized devastated to Ella when she appeared beside him. She sent him a faint smile, which he couldn't understand the meaning of, before she turned her attention to the bird. "ARe you alright?" Ella asked worried and took a few steps closer to the pidgey. She waited until the bird had got back on its legs before she asked it if needed any further help, then listened to the story it told. "So you are saying you woke up and had no idea where they went?" Ella asked and another voice chirped in. "Is it often that they abandon you?" Janus had returned. "No! No they haven't abandoned their friend they have probably just.. just.." Cyan gasped frantically and failed to come up with suggestion to what could have happened otherwise. "Anyway," Ella continued, "Our first meeting seemed a bit rough," Cyan ducked his head and looked shamefully at the ground. "And I would like to offer our help to find your flock again, if you want it?" Ella asked and smiled politely to the pidgey. "What about Astrid?" Janus asked but Ella didn't answer him. "I would like to help too, if you don't think I screw it all up." Cyan added and they all waited for the pidgeys reaction. If it did not accept their help, Ella would nod as acceptance while Cyan would ask why not. If it did accept Cyan would look really hopeful and creep a bit closer, hoping this meant he was forgiven. "You didn't see where they went, since you were sleeping," Ella stated the obviously to recap the story. "Is there any places where you flock usually goes this time of day or year? Or just some places they are often goes to?" Ella asked to try narrow down the area they had to search. "Does any of you know the area around here?" Ella asked her team mates, when the Pidgey hopefully had given them some directions. "I know the way to the house where we met you, and the way to the bus stop." Janus answered plainly, while Cyan shook his head. "Then I hope you can be our guide." Ella said with a smile to the pidgey. "Is everything alright over there?" Astrid asked as she wondered why the playing had stopped and all three of her pokemon were facing the bird. "I hope Cyan hasn't been too harsh on it." She thought worried and absent minded pulled her fallen trolley back up. She picked up her cane and rose to join her pokemon. Ella looked over her shoulder at her and then quietly warned the Pidgey. "I don't know if you want to join us or not, but she is technically a trainer, and you know trainers often catch everything they come across."Astrid did not have any pokeball with her though. "Have you been too rough in your play Cyan? You have to be more careful dear." She said warmly. "With tackles likes that you at least don't have to worry about loosing any battles." Janus commented and Cyan spun around to protest. "That was not a battle!""It surely looked like one." Janus stated calmly. "It was just for fun! We were just playing!" Cyan cried out. "A playfight is still a fight, and don't you play to learn how to battle in a fun way?" Janus asked, and then added a last remark. "Either way, you won it."Cyan was left speechless and just stared at the joltik, unable to accept the thought he had been battling. Behind them the trolley fell once again and the blanket which containted the egg, rolled halfway out. (wordcount: +400 = 2000/2000 HATCHING TIME! Yes, I would like to try help the pidgey find its flock again, and I don't know if I want it or not, so that will be up to you )

Wild Pidgey - - - - - - - - - - - - - Having picked itself up off the ground and tucking its wings close, Pidgey listened with slowly widening eyes at the offer from Ella. The flock didn't have a solid routine when they took off for the day, all noisy and excited and bursting with energy. And that thought aside, it was still a bit battered from the inadvertent battle it had engaged in, leaving Pidgey unsure of its flying abilities at this time. It explained this to the trio before it, saying it was too used to seeing the route from the sky and may not be completely reliable while grounded. Tiny brow furrowed in concentration, it tried to recall any familiar locations its flock often visited, oblivious to Astrid for the time.
After a moment passed with Pidgey silently thinking, the brown and tan bird sighed deeply, head drooping. Alarm spread across its face when Ella warned it about her trainer, eyeing the older woman with a wary look in its eyes. Pidgey eventually returned its attention to the other Pokémon after ensuring Astrid didn't have any bad intentions, though it couldn't help shooting furtive looks here and there. Chirping brightly, the bird informed Ella that it couldn't think of anywhere close by aside from a large tree known for its frequent Bug-type visitors.
While the Pidgey began to gaze around, looking for a landmark that could lead them in the right direction, the egg that had spilled out of the trolley began to shake, a crack splitting across its shell with a loud noise. Several more cracks rapidly spread across the glossy surface, eventually falling apart to reveal a small brown crocodile striped with black. This miraculous moment was nearly overshadowed by an even louder noise filling the air, indiscernible but odd enough to have both Pidgey and the newly hatched Sandile looking about in mild confusion. Was that the flock's return, or something else...?
The wild Pidgey is unsure of its flock's whereabouts, but has offered a small clue. Will you accompany it to the tree?Huh? ...the egg hatched! Congratulations! The Mystery Egg hatched into a Sandile! As the sandile tried to come out of its egg, it found that it was much more difficult than, wll not what it has expected as it didn't know what it could expect, but it didn't like it! The blankets cloth held the eggshells pretty firmly together and when it finally managed to push some of them apart, it was met with the soft blanket, which held it captured just as the egg had done. It clamped its teeth down at the blanket and with a few toss of its head, it shredded it open and tumbled out into the light. It lay gasping on its back, taking in all the inputs around it. then it rolled to its stomach and looked towards where a unfamiliar loud sound filled the air around it, but as everything was new to it, it didn't kept its attention and something inside the trolley smelled awefully good!
Both Ella and Cyan froze when the loud sound ringet over their heads, while Astrid and Janus started to look around in the attempt to pinpoint it. "My Bag! The egg!" Astrid exclaimed when she saw the sandile shuffle around with the now empty blanket and tryingly biting the edge of the trolley. "Nononono! What have you done!" Astrid cried as she hurried back. "Stop that! Don't bite it, you will destroy it!" She shouted after the ground type, who paused briefly to look curiously at her before it continued like nothing had happened. Ella excused herself to the pidgey and hurried after Astrid, with cyan close behind her. Janus stayed beside the bird, though he was watching the happening in front of him with curiousity. He hadn't forgotten the sound and he kept an eye out for what could have caused that as well.
Ella reached the newborn first while Cyan rushed to hide behind Astrid and look at the sand crocodile from a safe distance. The froakie grabbed the tail of the sandile and tried to pull it out of the bag. She was well aware her food would be in there as well, and she wasn't interested in this one shoudleat it all! It didn't made much difference and as Ella could hear it chomping on something and in frustration she shot a few bubbles at its tail. That got an reaction from it and with a squeel of pain it spun around and Ella didn't get out of the way before it clamped its teeth down on her arm. She gave it a serie of furious bubbles to the face until it let go, and then it scurried a bit away to start investigate something else with its teeth. this time the tall grass around them.
Astrid sat down with tears in her eyes, this was not the way she had thought the fate of the egg should be. Cyan pushed himself up against her to try comfort her, while Ella glared at the sandile while she held her injured arm close to her body. "That poor thing, it didn't even get a chance to hatch.." Astrid whispered and Ella huffed. When Astrid looked confused at the froakies reaction, Ella simply pointed at the sandile. Astrid looked closer at the blanket and realized there were no blood but only clean eggshells... "That pokemon is the hatchling!" She gasped and looked astonished at it, before she groaned. The sandile had begun to try eat their picknic blanket. She found a few apple chips and held them towards the sandile. "See what I have here for you. I'm not doing you anything." Astrid told it in a babyvoice, but got no reaction other than Cyan looking hopefully at the snack. Suddenly the sandile stopped to sniff in the air, before it raced towards Astrid who barely got time to let go of the chips before the sandiles jaws slammed down on them. As the sandile was busy experience the sense called taste, Astrid gravely found an empty pokeball and took advantage of it finally sitting still to press it against its side. "Who ever left that egg in my garden either didn't thought I should have it, or didn't realize my age. This one is too energetic for me to keep up." Astrid mumbled to herself as the sandile was captured and she put it away, before she started to clean up the mess and get ready to get on.
Ella joined Janus and the pidgey once more. "I'm sorry for the interruption, if we can find a way to get the human to go there too, we would love to help you." Ella said and Cyan, who came running to join them, nodded eagerly. "I'm just not sure how to get her to do it, though." Ella said thoughtfully as she looked at Astrid. "Leave that to me." Janus said crawled back to Astrid. He waited until she had finished packing all her things and complained about her destroyed things, before he did anything. As she asked him to crawl up on the trolley (which had a few bite marks) he refused and instead started to crawl in the direction pidgey had pointed out. "Janus, come back! We are continuing now!" She called after him and he stopped to look over his shoulder at her, but he did not return. "What is it?" She asked him and he walked another meter forward before he looked back to look at her again. "You have something to show me?" Astrid said hesitantly and looked back at Ella and the others. The froakie urged the two others to join her as she hurried to Janus side and mimicked him. "I think it is working! Come!" Cyan said excited to the piddgey and looked expectantly at it, clearly expecting it to show the way.

After the mess and frenzy of the egg hatching into a Sandile, Astrid's Pokemon were once again ready to help out the Pidgey. The brown bird chirped sweetly in response to Ella the Froakie, and then happily continued on, hopping next to the Joltik. The bug and the bird seemed to be enjoying each other as they walk in a pace that Astrid could keep up with, or in Joltik's case, crawl. With that settled, the team plus Pidgey made their way toward the tree that would be the Pidget's home. After walking for maybe ten minutes straight with no wild Pokemon or humans in sight, out from the quietness, a young boy was screaming and crying for his life as he was running toward the group. Thankfully, he stopped before his feet squished the Joltik and/or the Pidgey. Though given how electrifying Janus was, the boy was lucky he didn't get shocked. "HHHEELP! HELP ME! SOMEONE! HELP! THERE'S POKEMON AFTER me.... WOAH! I almost step on you. I'm sorry I'm sorry! Huh?" The boy screeched, running as fast as a young boy could humanly run. He finally stopped his feet in astonishment, nearly crashing into Janus and the Pidgey. He apologized frantically and hurriedly, only to realize that he wasn't being chased after now. "Oh, they stopped chasing me. There's this big tree from where I came from, and some flying Pokemon and bug Pokemon were fighting. Then they saw me and started chasing me in a large group. I wonder what's going on... Hi miss! My name is Mikey and I live around here. Are you a Pokemon trainer too? This is odd..." Mikey stopped and explained himself calmly now, and the introduced himself, only to realize that the old woman he's talking to might just be a Pokemon Trainer. He probably haven't seen an Expert Pokemon trainer or Veteran trainer. "that Joltik and Mudkip must be yours.... Do you know that if you lock eyes with a trainer outside of a city, you have to have a Pokemon battle? Alright, let's go, Spaghetti!" He trailed his voice as he was trying to figure out what was going on, then he realized that those Pokemon, besides the Pidgey, weren't common around here. He quickly challenged Astrid into a Trainer battle, and then tossed out a capture device. Out from the Pokeball was a small purple mouse, who had no visible stain of spaghetti on it. It squeaked curiously as it waited Astrid to get ready. Right above them, the sky seemed to be bright with the sunshine of the sun, but the clouds were just enough to cover them, a few seconds after Spaghetti was sent out, the sky began raining. Although it was a light rain, the weather could still weaken someone's immune system. Thankfully though, it was spring, and the sky don't need to block out the sun to rain, giving both trainers enough visibility with the sun shining from somewhere where the clouds don't cover.
Youngster Mikey sent out (Level 5) Rattata named Spaghetti! Pidgey is chirping and think it's in the right direction! Weather= Rain OOC: Now Mikey is blocking Astrid from continuing, the tree is up ahead because Mikey just ran away from it. Also I imagine the Joltik crawl as fast as the old woman

It was a puzzled woman who followed her pokemon, as she was not sure what they wanted to show her. The next eight minutes were quiet with no interruptions in any way, which didn't surprise Astrid as she hadn't expected anything else. When there were only two minutes left before their peaceful wandering would be interrupted by a terrified boy, Cyan spottet something which lay discarded in the grass. "Hey, what is that?" He chirped happily as he jumped over to the thing and both Janus and Ella moved closer to see what it was. "That's an egg." Janus answered and turned to walk back to the pidgey, whose company he enjoyed, even though birds often liked to eat pokemon like him. "A abandoned one, it seems." Ella said and looked around for clues, but the way it lay in the middle of nowhere, with no tree it could have fallen from and with no nest or anything else to keep it warm, it was pretty clear it had been dropped. Either by accident or by purpose. "Can we keep it?" Cyan asked hopefully. "We can't leave it here," Ella answered and sat down beside the egg to stare down Astrid. "What is it? No, you can't mean that. Come here and leave it alone, I'm sure its parents is somewhere close." Astrid said and waived to her two water types. Cyan started to walk back to her crestfallen, but Ella didn't move an inch. "Froakie," she croaked gently to her trainer, and Cyan paused to look hopefully between them. "You saw how it went with the other one, Ella. I'm too old for this, come here!" Astrid said sternly and Cyan quickly skidded to her side, but Ella only moved closer to the egg and looked just as firmly back at Astrid.
Their starring contest was interruptet a few seconds later when the skies started darken and Astrid looked up worried. She quickly walked over to Ella and found both her raincoat and the destroyed blanket, which she wrapped the egg in, before placing it safely in her trolley. "Alright, you win. I cannot stay here and argue with you in the rain, I cannot risk catching a cold," Astrid said angrily before pausing and staring firmly at Ella. "But it is going to be your responsibility!"
Both looked up surprised when a cry for help reached their ears. Janus hurried out of the way when he was almost stomped on, and Cyan backed away nervously. "Calm down! No one is chasing you." Astrid said as she put on her raincoat with a last glance at the clouds above. Then she made her way back to the scared youngster.
Astrid stood with a confused frown on her face as the boy rattled off a lot of information and whent from terrified to demanding a battle with her, calling out a pokemon which was seen everywhere. She did not pay it any attention though, but Cyan made sure to keep a good safe distance as he knew another trainer usually meant a battle. "Wait, what? Slow down boy, what are you talking about?" Astrid protested when she finally could get a word in. "I am not going to battle you because of some silly rule you have just made up on the spot. That is just nonsense, what if it was an emergency or my pokemon didn't feel like battling today, should I then force them to do it, just to please you? Stop doing such things and just ask politely if you want to battle others." She scolded Mikey. "It is good you present yourself though, I am Astrid." She said more calmly. "Now tell me who was chasing you, and why." She asked him. It would be good to know, if they suddenly chose to attack.
Janus slowly crept closer to Spaghetti. He had seen plenty of rattatas before, but he had never been close to one, so he got close and poked to it with a claw. If Spaghetti made any movement, Janus would hurry away and hide behind the closest ally: Ella. The froakie would have joined the pidgey and tried to start a conversation with it, asking if it believed it was its friends who was guarding the tree? If the rattata had taken Janus poking as an invitation to a fight, and it therefore would hit Ella instead of the joltik. Ella would be shocked and react with a Water Pledge, before she realized what was happening.
(Wordcount: +400 = 400/4000 that was a short break, but this is going to take a bit longer. Janus is "switching out" on the first round, and Ella is retaliating, if this is going to be a battle. I know I can't run from a trainer battle, but I have no problem investigating the tree first and then battle him later, if you think that will fit the story better)

Wild Pidgey - - - - - - - - - - - - - Pidgey was looking up at Mikey with mild confusion, wondering why the boy was impeding their progress to the tree. With its strength still low, and now with the addition of falling rain, it needed help traversing the terrain on foot. A battle would only slow them down even more, and if the Pidgey's flock really was at this tree, they could easily move on by the conclusion. Frustration bubbled to the surface and caused the bird to explode in a flurry of irritated chirps and squawks, hopping about in front of the perplexed youth. "Hey, easy there birdie! I'm trying to have a battle here!" Mikey exclaimed, nervously shifting away from the noisy avian. Spaghetti shot an annoyed look at Pidgey, missing Janus entirely as the stealthy Joltik approached and gently poked the unaware rodent before beating a hasty retreat.
Though Spaghetti jumped in surprised and whirled about, he made no move to attack, too eager to please his trainer to be lashing out wildly. Said trainer, however, was too busy ducking his head with a wince at Astrid's scolding. "Oof... sorry, miss Astrid. My mom says I really need to stop being so impatient, but I just love battling so much," he replied in a low voice. Latching onto her question, Mikey lifted his head and gestured over his shoulder. "Like I said, there was a bunch of birds and bugs battling it out at some giant tree. I was just passing by when they suddenly started swarming me instead! Barely made it outta there."
His face was animated as he spoke, more excited than truly terrified. It had been a rattling experience, though he was a plucky kid and bounced back pretty fast. A thought came to his mind, one he couldn't resist blurting out. "Hey, I can show you that tree if you want. But maybe we can have that battle when I do? I mean, if those Pokémon aren't still fighting," Mikey offered, looking quite guileless and young. It seemed he wouldn't be happy without a fight, although his offer was a tempting one, and one that caught Pidgey's attention. The bird looked from him to Astrid and cocked its head curiously, wondering what the woman would choose to do.
Youngster Mikey is offering to take Astrid to the tree - provided she promises to battle afterwards. How will you proceed?

Astrid listened closely and nodded encouragingly as she listened to Mikeys explanation. She didn't have much patience with rude youngsters, but she could forgive most things when they clearly listened to her scolding and tried to behave. "You Mom is probably right, it is always good to learn to be patient." Astrid agreed before she looked sternly at the boy and asked. "You are sure you just walked by?" "Froa-froakie!" Ella agreed and nodded vigorously to that statement. All trainers started a battle right away without thinking about what was going on. "Astrid didn't," Janus stated behind her back, where he had hid after poking the rattata. He had run off since it had jumped into the air and he wasn't going to take any chances out here. Ella looked down at him questioningly and asked, "what do you mean?" "Oh, you are getting old too, aren't you?" He asked and Ella looked offended. "She could have accepted the boys challenge and have started rigth away," Janus continued. "But she didn't," Ella finished the sentence thoughtfully and once again looked closer at Astrid.
"Anyway, I would like to see what this is all about. I wouldn't like to accidently walk straight into the middle of the squabble unprepared," Astrid said turned so she could see her pokemon. "As I said I cannot promise something that doesn't really include me," she said to Mikey as she pulled her raincoat closer around her, since the raindrops started to fall. "I can't force them to do something they don't want, can I?" She said with a smile, before she finally asked them, "so does anyone of you want a battle with this young man and his rattata a bit later?" Cyan quikly back away, keeping his eyes at the ground, while Ella stubbornly turned her head dismissive away. She was not having any of that. Janus looked from one to the other before he crawled forward and waved a claw to get Astrid's attention. "You want to?" Astrid asked and Janus waved some more. "It looks like that is a yes." Astrid told Mikey warmly.
"Everyone listen, this is important!" Astrid said before they continued to the tree. "We don't know what we're going to encounter, nor how they will react. None of you are attacking anything unless in selfdefense, and even there try to avoid it! If not we can end up against a while flock and I cannot run!" Strid ordered and looked at one at a time. "Do you understand me?" Her three pokemon nodded. When Mikey and Spaghetti had agreed to that as well, she gestured for him to show the way."Lead the way Mikey, but not too fast. We need to be able to watch them without they see us as a thread."
Ella stayed beside Astrid as they continued, wondering about the strange trainer whose hands she was in care. Cyan made the rearguard, he did not like the idea that they were heading towards something potential dangerous. Janus quickly made his way back to the pidgey. "Do you think it is your flock who attacked the human child?" He asked.
