During the independent practice, you will collect as appropriate their work for the formal assessment. Prior to this time, you have been assessing informally. How will you organize this portion of the lesson? What questions will you ask to promote higher-level thinking? What opportunities will you provide for students to practice content language/concepts/vocabulary? What language supports will you offer? These steps must be sequentially numbered.

Number and Operations Activity: Fourth Grade Standard: 13. Using area and length fraction models, explain why one fraction is equivalent to another, taking into account that the number and size of the parts differ even though the two fractions themselves are the same size. Materials: • Plastic spoons • Fraction cards Activity: Equivalent Fractions Spoons 1. Arrange spoons in the center of the table. The number of spoons should equal the number of players minus one. 2. Shuffle the fraction cards and deal four cards face-down to each player. 3. Choose a dealer. Set the remaining cards face-down beside the dealer. 4. The dealer takes a card off the top of the pile so that they now have five cards in their hand. The dealer removes one of the five cards from their hand and passes it facedown to the player on their left. The dealer then continues to pick up cards from the pile and discard one card at a time to the player on their left. 5. The player to the left of the dealer picks up the discarded card from the dealer. Like the dealer, they remove one of the five cards from their hand and pass it facedown to the person on their left. They continue to do this as cards continue getting discarded to them. 6. This quick picking up and passing of cards continues around the circle. The last player in the circle always places their discarded card into a trash pile. These cards are now out of play for the round. 7. Once someone gets four-of-a-kind (four fraction cards that are equivalent makes four-of-a-kind) in their hand, they grab a spoon from the center of the table. Once the player with four-of-a-kind takes a spoon, everyone else tries to immediately grab a spoon (even if they do not yet have four-of-a-kind). Algebra Activity: Fourth Grade Standard: 14. For whole numbers in the range 1 to 100, find all factor pairs, identifying a number as a multiple of each of its factors. * 14.b. Determine whether a whole number in the range 1 to 100 is prime or composite. Materials: None Activity: Prime and Composite Jump 1. Ask participating students to stand in a circle, arms-length away from one another. 2. The person conducting the activity will call out random numbers. If the number is a prime number, then the students should sit down. If the number is a composite number, the students should remain standing. 3. Once you have called a composite number and a student is still standing, call one at random and ask them for the prime factorization of that number. 4. This activity can continue for several rounds until everyone has had a chance to give an answer and participate. Geometry Activity: Fourth Grade Standard: 27. Draw points, lines, line segments, rays, angles (right, acute, obtuse), and perpendicular and parallel lines, and identify these in two-dimensional figures. Materials: • Pencil • Paper Activity: Draw and Name 1. Give students five minutes. They are to draw 5 objects that use a line, line segment, or ray. 2. After drawing the figures, students must name and label the lines, line segments, and rays in their figures. 3. Check their work after the five minutes has elapsed. 4. Call on students to define a line, line segment, and a ray and show where they are used in the objects that they have drawn. Measurement Activity Fourth Grade Standard: 25. Use a protractor to measure angles in whole-number degrees and sketch angles of specified measure. Materials: • Graph paper • Pencil • Rulers, protractors Activity: Name Angles 1. Students will write their names on graph paper in a large font. Then, students will classify the types of angles in their name (acute, right, or obtuse). 2. After identifying the angles in their name as acute, obtuse, or right, students should use the protractor to measure the angles in their names. Then, they will label the angles in their name with the number measured. 3. Afterwards, students can identify the points, lines, rays, and figures within their names. Data Analysis and Probability Activity Fourth Grade Standard: 20. Interpret data in graphs (picture, bar, and line plots) to solve problems using numbers and operations. Materials: • A spinner (a pie graph, split into equal sections separated by icons, numbers, or colors) • Paper and pencil Activity: Spinner Game 1. Students will be split into groups and given a spinner. Using a pencil or paperclip (or some other small item), they will spin the pencil twenty times. 2. Each time the spinner lands on a result, add a tally to that respective result’s place on the chart and record how many times that result happens. After twenty times, the chart should be complete, with one square on the chart filled in for each time the result happened.

A Yu-Gi-Oh player was concerned about bullying when he saw a female player leave early, it turns out she just couldn't handle the smell. Story below.

As for its T1 placement. I'd honestly take a huge power azumarill over veluza, which is also a T1. Most people don't bother raising magikarps, but we all know how awesome gyarados is in a playthrough of the game and they make quite a show in raids as well here. ^_-
(What? I had to copy it for something)
