This was good news for Cyrus and Damien: the wild pidgey was overconfident. The higher level pokémon continued its fruitless attempts to blind its smaller kin batting it. Sand and wet dirt flying up into the area only to be quickly beaten back down by the rain. No matter how much of it splattered around Cyrus the little pidgey appeared to have no sight trouble allowing it to move out of the way and lock onto his opponent. Another successful tackle was delivered unto the angered bird.
Damien continued to watch the fight intently. Fingers readied by his belt where his other partner rested. So far though, thanks to the wild pidgey's inability to recognize Cyrus' talent, his worries looked pointless. But not unfounded. The enemy pidgey looked real frazzled at this point. Eyes shooting dangers at Cyrus, who in return fluffed himself up and attempted to shake off the mat of water building on his feathers.
The trainer pursed his lips as he debated switching Cyrus right now, before he got hurt. The poor thing had been through a lot today already and keeping him from having to experience the same thing as with that spearow was a driving force for the thought. But on the other hand... he may just be able to do this. Damien's fingers twitched. For a second the wild pidgey had almost looked like a ferocious spearow.
Before he knew it his hand was around Cyrus' pokéball, a shiver traveling down his spine and causing his arm to tremor lightly. "Great job Cyrus, return!" his voice rang out just before a crack of thunder rumbled across the sky. With another quick and quiet mumble of praise to his pidgey, Damien let the ball click back onto his belt before he grabbed Turret's ball and threw it into the air.
"Cyrus' weakened him up for yah," the inexperienced ranger noted as the tiny turtle emerged from the pokéball. The squirtle pounded a fist to palm, about all he had time for before the enemy pidgey took its turn; taking full advantage of the shift in pokémon. After it was done Damien called for Turret to tackle.
((Just went over 2 turns to save some time and give more for you guys to respond to if that's okay.))

Pidgey was all fired up to show no mercy to Cyrus this time around. The rain was bad enough but failing to cause any type of damage twice in a row was an embarrassment for the avian as it was a higher leveled Pokemon and Cyrus should have caused it little trouble. As the rain continued to drench both Pokemon Pidgey was ready to make a move and finally do some damage. As the bird got ready to charge towards Cyrus however Damien switched out his lower leveled Pidgey for Turret. The Squirtle was not only a higher level but it also still had all of it's hp as well and the rain would only give the turtle an even bigger advantage. Pidgey had nonetheless kept up the attack and rammed into Turret with a Tackle trying to finally cause some damage. The attack was successful however not very powerful due to Turret's shell absorbing most of the hit. Before the bird could even turn around to try a second hit Turret had already started to run towards Pidgey to deliver a tackle of his own. His tackle was a bit more successful and at first it appeared Pidgey had been defeated. The bird took a very long time to get up and judging by it's appearance it would not be able to take another hit. By some miracle the bird was still in the fight but that would not last very long at this rate. The bird tried one final desperate Tackle that again only caused minor damage to Turret thanks to his natural defenses. It knew there was no way to win at this point. It had wasted too much time with Cyrus instead of attacking like it should have and that hesitation had costed it dearly. Now staring Turret down just waiting on him to deliver the knockout blow Pidgey could only blame itself for this loss as it's head fell down in shame. Pokemon BattlePidgey|level 5| HP: 2/20 (50%)Status: Normal Used Tackle x2Did I just get hit by a tank? VS Damien's Turret|level 9| HP: 18/29 (62%)Status: Normal Cyrus switched for Turret, Turret Used TackleTurtle power!
Ooc: Yes you are allowed to use an item or switch Pokemon and call a move in one post. Your opponent will just receive 2 moves. In this case Pidgey used Tackle twice both on Turret and it still did not come close to beating him.

While still excited for yet another encounter for the day, Turret couldn't help but come out with a yawn. Unfortunately for him that left the squirtle an easy target for the pidgey's bashing; but on the other side Turret didn't seem too concerned with the free hit. He retaliated as per his trainers command and downed the poor drenched bird. He raised his hands up in victory, the drops of sky water drizzling down his arms as Damien released a sigh of relief.
The celebration was too early however, as the wild pidgey struggled to its feet and came back with another prideful tackle. It was obvious that this was over though; even the spirited wild pokémon knew. With a deep intake of cold air Damien hesitantly called out for a final attack: another tackle. Turret gave a nod and prepared for the next, and likely, final round of this battle.
Despite the pidgey being the one to instigate the battle Damien couldn't help but feel a bit torn with knocking the little bird unconscious. But such a proud avian would likely view the decision to not finish the battle as a slight. Something worse than being simply defeated. The dishonor was something that was poking around at the back of his mind once he was able to overcome the mental shivers of being around a fierce bird.

The once big headed Pidgey had well and truly fallen under the hands, or rather Pokemon, of Damien. It thought it had a chance after witnessing him allowing the Spinda to flee but deep down, the Pidgey had almost wished it was that clumsy bear in it's own position right now. Bruised and a little sore after the continual tackles between the pair of them, the Pidgey felt it's vision begin to blur and it wasn't due to the rain. If Damien had stopped the battle there and then, he was right in thinking it would be insulting to the bird. As even now, with a mere smidgen of health, it was giving it's all. That and if Damien had tried to flee, it would fly after him and peck him until he continued battling!
Keeping up it's fierce leering, stare, the Pidgey wanted to atleast fall looking intimidating, just as it had been throughout the whole battle. Hearing the voice of the boy calling out the move, the avian looked to Turret, who had no reason not to comply. With his short, stubby blue legs, the Squirtle sprang forward as the rain rolled off of his body. The Pidgey not even attempting to dodge, it merely remained in the same spot, only closing it's eyes seconds before impact. Feeling the hard shell of Turret, the Squirtle had side tackled the Pidgey to the ground, the force being enough to finally knock it out. Maybe once the Pidgey woke up it would realise not to be so arrogant for future encounters. It was also free, but not necessary, for Damien to capture, if he was interested.

It was done. Turret stood over the defeated pidgey, nodding at his fallen opponent before twisting around to look at his trainer. The sky was turning darker by the second, the rain scratching across all vision keyed with strikes of light tearing across the clouds above with ever increasing rumbles shaking the leaves lining the route just as much as the wind rustled through them. Damien moved a bit closer and passed his squirtle a gentle smile before congratulating the turtle and calling him back to his ball. He then turned his eyes down to the beaten bird and frowned. Hesitantly at first, Damien crouched down and scooped up the pidgey. With a bit more haste the new trainer scurried over to the side of the route and laid the unconscious avian at its roots. It wasn't much, and battling was just the way of the world, but it was something. Maybe someone else would better appreciate this wild pidgey's fighting spirit once it had recovered. He, for one, had had more than enough dealings with the feathered beasts to last a long while. To think his first captured pokémon was one of them. Damien gave a sigh of relief as he prepared himself for the full onslaught of weather once he stepped out from under the light protection of the tree. The boy still kept to the side of the route in order to keep from the worst of the storm whipping around the open sections as he made his way to Cherrygrove. He was close and needed to get out of the terrible conditions before he ended up really sick. There was a chill already setting. Luckily he could be out of it soon with a bit more running, fueled by the thought of a warm room. ~ End ~
