The first time Martin had taken route 30 between Cherrygrove and Violet, he had been busy with a goal in mind. He had done his utmost to avoid any and all possible encounters from humans and Pokemons alike. However, now he was done with his errand, he took the road back to Cherrygrove at an almost pleasent walk. The chill in the air, and the light snow fall that decorated the surroundings with a fluffy layer of white, was the only reason Martin kept a decent fast pace to keep warm. His green and brown clothes was sure to make him stand out in the white landscape, but Martin hoped it worked the other way around too. He hadn't found another job yet, and had chosen to spend the next couple of days being productive by other means.
First off, he was still frustrated and angry with his battle against Falkner. He hadn't met the competition and strenght he had hoped for, to really make sure Juun was up to par, and he figured he wouldn't be satisfied before he had tested her against the Pidgeotto. He needed his team to be strong, so they could stand up to any threats, when doing garden work. And later they needed to be able to stay off wild Pokemon from Martin's own land. Speaking of land, Martin might benefit from checking out some estates later. Martin archived that thought, and started studying his surroundings more firmly.
None of his Pokemon were out, due to the cold weather. Dros and Juun wouldn't be at their best, if they got frost bites from just travelling, and he needed them to be good enough, if he ran across wild Pokemon. He never considered the Gastly or Phyllis as travel company, since it wasn't their purpose, and Thief he was still deciding if he had been punished long enough. All that was left, was the little surprise Thief had had for Martin after their trip to the Kalos festival. Thief must have been extremely cautious on that outing, because Martin hadn't even noticed, that he had stolen a Pokeballed Pokemon from the military man. The Espurr Martin suddenly found himself the owner of had been a nervewrack, when Martin finally got the ball from Thief, and Martin wondered, what Thief had done to it.
Martin had saved the Espurr for a while, hoping it would calm down with time. Espurrs were interesting Pokemon, and Martin wouldn't give it up before at least trying, what he could get out of it. He had a suspicion, Thief had deliberately taken a psychic type for his own nasty amusement, and if Martin had any say on the matter, he would make sure to turn the tides on the devious cat. - And he would do it with the pure purpose of showing Thief that you couldn't always count on the seemingly weak to be defenseless. In reality Martin had a lot more Pokemon to train up for one thing or another. He was glad he wasn't an actual trainer, because if just being a gardener took this much, he couldn't imagine how much more regular trainers needed to train.
However, Martin's mind wasn't on training right now. He still needed to figure out how best to go about it. No, what Martin was looking for was far more interesting. He had accidently heard of a swarm in the area, of a grass type he wasn't sure where else to run upon. He doubted the swarm was still around in this cold, but it couldn't hurt to look, while he was in the area anyway._____________ (Ooc: Changed Skarn out for the Espurr in the box. In his current company he has trouble finding the needed security, only Phyllis offering a minor sense of protection to him. Martin's cold demeanor certainly doesn't do much to make him feel comfortable. Note: Martin finds him interesting, but not enough to play nice. He tries to toughen him up the harsh way.

The cold weather on this particular day had frightened off the majority of the Pokemon. The same could be said for the people of Cherrygrove as well as the surrounding areas. The stubborn, and seemingly angry, Martin was practically alone on this chilly day. He walked with determination, and many of the inhabitants of the grasses surrounding Cherrygrove couldn't be bothered enough to engage in battle. If any of them became fainted, it would be detrimental to their health. They'd be knocked out and freeze. Probably die. Martin shouldn't take it to heart, the Pokemon were just antisocial for their own well-being. Time went on as Martin pressed forward, looking for the swarm Pokemon, but nothing stirred. However, a few rustles of grass were the first sounds aside from Martin's footsteps and own breathing. From the hidden patch came a wild Bidoof, blinking dopily as it looked up at the passing Martin. It quickly dove back down into the grass and made it's way to the path, showing itself despite the freezing temperatures. Bidoof were known to be hardy Pokemon, capable of living practically anywhere, so perhaps the cold wasn't bothering the good-natured Pokemon. It seemed to be lonely, and probably a little hungry. Maybe Martin wanted to spend time with it, give it food and spend time cuddling? Okay, perhaps not, but Bidoof knew that it didn't necessarily hurt to try. It continued following Martin until he got an answer or battle from the boy. A Wild Bidoof (Level 6) has wandered to you for warmth!

Martin hadn't expected to see much, and he was right. It really was quiet at a time like this. He would have expected a couple of children making the best of the snow, but appearently they didn't play in this part, which was all the better for Martin. He wasn't in the mood to smile right now. He slowed down a bit more, feeling a bit too warm from the brisk pace. He was packed in several layers of clothes, and would be able to keep warm, if he just kept moving. The slower pace didn't sound that loud, and a sound in the background was revealed. Something else was out here along with Martin. Martin turned his head, trying to pinpoint what and where it was. He spotted the rustling grass and squinted his eyes. A Bidoof looked unintelligent up at him from the grass, and Martin continued uninterested. He had no time for such an obvious slow creature. It followed him though, and Martin shot it an irritated look. What ever did it want?
He took a couple of more steps, but his patience today was practically non-existent. With a growl he turned on his heel. "Go away!" he demanded. The creature just blinked at him again, just as empty-headed as the first time he had layed eyes on it, and Martin reached under his jacket for a Pokeball. "If you don't scram immediately, I'll make short work of you." he warned it, his voice colder than the snow surrounding them. He had one Pokemon that could do just that, and he was reaching for her, but accidently brushed the Pokeball just beside it. A flash, and icy gas streamed out of his jacket, suddenly freezing Martin to the bones. Martin shuddered, as his Gastly flowed to the ground and laughed at the Bidoof. "Oh, no you don't," Martin growled, pulling himself together from the icy shock, and called her back in, releasing his original choice instead. "Phyllis, hit that thing as hard as you are able with your Arm Thrust." He ordered, as soon as she materialised.
Phyllis was quite surprised to be let out for a real battle. Until now, Martin had only seemed to want her around for garden work, and not even interruptions from wild Pokemon had changed that. She had begun fearing she would never get the chance to train herself stronger battle wise. This was absolutely extraordinary, and Phyllis was thrilled at the prospect. Finally! She beat the palm of her hands together and grinned excited at the Bidoof, forgetting for a moment she was meant to keep her face aloof. Then she jumped to action.____________ (Ooc: Gastly came first, but Phyllis was immediately changed in, and uses Arm Thrust. Bidoof has an extra move. Small thing: Martin is no boy. If you look in his profile he is 25 years old, looking even older.)
Wasn't meant to insult. I used boy as in, the dude has the right genitals for it, not something to be irate about. Sorry my use of wording in your mod post bothered you. The dopey Pokemon staggered back a couple of paces in surprised at the sudden boom of Martin's voice. He made it very clear that he didn't want to be followed but the Bidoof didn't pay him any notice and planned to continue on it's merry, stalking way. Almost possessing some kind of skill that meant it was able to ignore anything negative, once again, the trainer had to give the fluffy creature a firm warning. No longer were it's little feet marching behind the man, but rather the Bidoof remained in the same spot. Staring up at him and clearly unaware that it was being annoying, the action Martin made struck a bit of excitement into the wild beaver. His motion of reaching into his jacket had somehow equalled food for the Bidoof and after a bit of an energetic hop on the spot, it rushed closer to the feet of Martin.
More than prepared to beg for food and maybe even a warm petting, the Bidoof began some strange yet cute wriggle, as if trying to come across as appealing. Completely ignoring the Gastly who had rather dramatically burst from it's Pokeball, it's stream of laughter received a twitch of the Bidoof's ear, at best. Eyes completely focused on just Martin, who was quick to reign his Pokemon back in, this time was going to be a little different. Preparing to battle, it wasn't food but yet another ball that the man ended up pulling out from his jacket. The Bidoof knew this, as it gave a rather unimpressed snort at the sight. It didn't look and definitely didn't smell like a treat. Emerging with a bright flash of light, this time the Bidoof took it's glance from Martin. It may have been a dumb Pokemon but it pieced together that win would mean reward. Thus, defeating this opponent would mean a treat, right? Anything was worth a shot!
Bathing in glee at the chance of finally being able to battle, Phyllis was about to really get a taste for battling right off the bat. No sooner had she even looked at her opponent, the Bidoof was up in her face. Head lowered, the idea of food had sent the Bidoof into a speedy frenzy. Dashing through the snow, it crashed into the Pancham head first and slam the bear into the ground. Flinching, Phyllis hurriedly shoved the dumb Pokemon away from her and pulled back a fist. Lunging her clenched paws forward, not once but four times, it became quite apparent that she packed quite a bit of strength behind her small physique. It didn't matter how hungry it had been, after a strike like that there was no way the Bidoof could keep it's eyes open. Flat on it's back, the back leg of the Pokemon twitched once or twice and other than that, gave no indication of getting up. The Bidoof had well and truly fainted.

Phyllis' attack hit fast and hard, rendering the Bidoof immovable within seconds. Martin nodded once in satisfaction at the sight of the twitching legs in the air. He knew he had made the right choice, and the confirmation made him gleeful. He smiled for himself, enjoying the sense of success, before turning thoughtful. He withdrew Phyllis with an absentminded "Good", and kicked just as absentminded the Bidoof back into the tall grass, not caring in the slightest if it ended up freezing to death. Martin's thoughts were on the feeling of success. He wanted that more often, to feel succesful, and the Gym Battle hadn't provided it. He blamed his mother for a lot of things, but mostly he blamed her for making it so difficult to have that sense of success with anything. He cursed her being, his face clouding over for a moment, and then returned to his brighter thoughts, the idea of how to repeat himself.
Martin still had Tergi's ball in the hand, and he shook it in reprimand to her earlier action. He had kept her for that trickster nature, but it wouldn't do he was the one getting hurt by it. He could still sense the cold that had lingered after her touch, but he did hope he could walk it off. There was no way he went back to Violet just now. He was on his way to Cherrygrove, and he had even planned to take a couple of days getting there, so he could really get to know the area. - And now he had a reason to look for all those pesky Pokemon living here. If he could come up with the best way to defend against each one, he would be much better offer, when he would need to protect the gardens he worked at and even his own garden sometime in the future. His Pokemon would be worked to the bones. They should be able to take any opponent out with the least amount of effort. Martin shook Tergi's ball again and pocketed it away from the others'. He couldn't risk her getting out wihtout his permission again. It didn't mean, she was in ball arrest like Thief had been. Martin had read up on the Gastly-line. They were special attackers and very fast. Tergi would be his hidden defense against intruders.
Martin settled into the slowest walk possible without starting to freeze, and continued his careful search of his surroundings. He wasn't purely looking for one unlikely find anymore. Completely without realizing it, Martin was thinking like a Pokemon trainer. The only difference was his reasoning.

As Martin continued his slow, careful walk through the snow, his eyes were kept wide and alert as he searched for more Pokemon as well as taking in his surroundings. Burning the image of the route into his very mind, the male was strategic and wanted to both learn and experience as much as possible, doing anything which would end up working in his favour. Ultimately using whatever he could learn to aide his gardening career, future work and for his own personal benefit. Falling deep in thought over the behaviour of his trickster Pokemon, his boots continued to crunch against the ground, being the only sound which echoed throughout the route. Surrounded by silence, it wouldn't take much to draw him away from his contemplations. Yet his next encounter might very well slip away undetected if he wasn't paying enough attention, since it didn't make a sound.
Hanging from the very tip of a bare tree branch was a brightly coloured creature but due to it's tiny size, could've easily been mistaken as a bud by amateur trainers. But if Martin had noticed, he would've easily been able to tell otherwise, due to his experience as a gardener. The Pokemon was the one thing he had doubted was still even in the area. The announced swarm; a Cherubi. Trying it's best to blend in, the Pokemon was still young and didn't realise how painfully obvious it looked. Prime for the taking by any wild bird Pokemon, Martin would be doing the oblivious creature a favour by catching it. Still, the way it could remain perfectly still was certainly a talent in itself or maybe it was just frozen from the cold. Focusing on remaining still, the Pokemon hadn't sense Martin approach, the older male now standing right below where the Cherubi was hanging.

At some point in his careful walk, Martin lost part of his focus, his eyes slipping every so often to the ground at his feet. His mind worked, he enjoyed the silence of the world, and listened to the few sounds that were. He started studying the trees in their winter look, getting familiar with how buds and bark looked on the different species, when the leaves were no longer there to point out, what he was looking at. He even stopped from time to time to inspect a peg more closely. The trees with the small, almost insignificant buds were the hardest to determine. Not many trees had as distinctive, shining bark as Birch, so the buds proved the most worthwile recognition wise. Currently, the lack of Pokemon made the time ideal for such a study, though it couldn't last. It was only because Martin was looking, that he spotted the odd red one out of the trees. It was odd, because a tree with such distinctive red buds wasn't likely to have just the one at such an exposed place, and when he got closer he saw the actual buds: medium sized light green 'crowns' paired opposite each other with just a hint of red at the edges of their scales. The tree was an Acer, more specifically Acer pseudoplatanus, also known as Sycamore Maple.
Martin stopped under the tree and looked up with squinting eyes. He didn't quite believe it. Had the rumour really been true? Only one way to find out. Martin found a Pokeball from under his jacket. His options were limited, since he didn't keep a bird around. The Gastly, Tergi, though able to get up there, was only gas and most like unable to loosen the bud from its branch. He wasn't even sure Juun could get up there, with how little she controlled her own movements in the wind, so that only left one other. "Dros," Martin said as he let the Bulbasaur out. He pointed up. "Can you get your vines up there, and take the red bud down. It doesn't belong in the tree, and I want to get a closer look." He still didn't quite believe it was actual a Pokemon sitting so still, but if it turned out to be, he was more than willing to expand his collection of grass types. That is, if it was still alive in this cold. "Be careful," Martin admonished, when Dros took aim, testing his vines' reach by slashing them in the air first. "Don't damage the tree."

As Martin examined the tree closely and instantly took note of the obscurity which clung to the very tip of the branch, the sight had atleast caught his attention. Wanting to investigate a little further, between his menagerie of Pokemon, the one which stood out to him most was Dros the Bulbasaur, his long vines likely being the most useful in this situation. As the Pokemon was released from his ball and given orders of retrieving the bud and even stricter ones to not damage the tree, Dros had to be very careful. If he were to make a mistake, there would be no doubts that he would be scolded for it later on. Since he had only just left his Pokeball, the Bulbasaur played it safe and gave his extended vines and stern whip or two, warming them up since the conditions were so cold.
Breathing in deeply and then further trying to steady his breath, Dros tried to keep his movements under control and focus on precision. As soon as he was ready, both of his vines began to extend up into the air, heading toward the little red bud. The bare branches of the acer were difficult to manoeuvre between, especially considering the little creature had somehow managed to make it quite far up. Squinting his eyes, Dros finally reached where the bud was located, beginning to wrap his vines around when all of a sudden, it wriggled. Moving his vines back in surprise, Dros then moved in a second time, wrapping the vines around and cautiously tugging the creature from the tree.
Resulting in success, whatever it was released it's hold on the branch and was brought back down to ground level. Holding it for Martin to see, what had settled in Dros' vines was indeed a wild Cherubi. Looking around with a terrified expression, the Cherubi tried desperately to free itself from Dros' vines.
A wild Cherubi (Level 10) was pulled down from the tree!
OOC: Wasn't sure if Dros was actually "attacking" or not.

"Look at that," Martin commented "You are able to do as told." Like Dros had never followed his words to the letter. Dros felt both afronted and a bit proud of the praise, but didn't react. Instead he watched the quivering Cherubi, recognizing the terror in its eyes, as the thing he had felt, when he first met Martin and realised his faith. He did his best not to let it slip from his careful grip, but he didn't know how long he could do that, considering its struggle. "I've been looking for someone like you," Martin went on, now focused on the Cherubi. "You'll be a nice addition to my garden team. You have two options. You come willingly right now, or we do it the hard way." Dros had no doubt what was meant by 'the hard way', and though he had no qualms with battling it out, like he was bred to, he did feel bad for the frightened Cherubi. 'I'd go with the first one,' he whispered in advice, trying to hide from Martin, that he was talking to the small cherry-like Pokemon. 'Either way he is taking you with us, and I'm pretty sure, he'll be much nicer towards you, if you don't put up a fight.' He did his best to explain the situation. He was unsure though, if it even heard him.
Martin gave the Cherubi a moment to consider its' options, even showing it a Pokeball in his hand, so he was sure to get his point across. If it turned out, it hadn't seen reason in his kind offer, his next words were an order to Dros. "Cover it with Leech Seed."
_____________ (Ooc: Either way is fine. I'm sort of testing the grounds (and probably always will). Dros tries to explain things. Martin orders a Leech Seed, if Cherubi decides to fight.)

After being plucked from the tree top, the shivering Cherubi now found itself in another awkward situation, after being given a rather scary ultimatum from Martin. Already being in an unfamiliar place as it was, surrounded by nothing but chilling cold and stark white snow, it's teenie eyes just stared up at the vision of the human male. His faded, blue eyes were staring at it so intensely and his tone of voice was not like that of other, carefree trainers it had previously witnessed travelling through the route earlier on in the day. Mouth wobbling in sheer nervousness, the little cherry let out a few high pitched squeaks but even to Dros, it was completely nonsensical.
The friendly advice of the Bulbasaur, which still had the wild Pokemon tied up within his vines, went completely unheard. Whether it was due to being pulled away from the branch, the scary stare of Martin or just being in this strange route, things just weren't settling in the mind of the Cherubi. Thus, it's chance of avoiding battle slipped by, leaving Martin no choice but to initiate battle. Feeling a bit of pity for the poor bud, Dros sighed ever so lightly to himself but intended to follow orders. He could see that the Cherubi was too nervous to respond so maybe starting a battle would wake it up some.
Setting the Cherubi on the ground away from Martin, Dros retracted his vines and with a slight twitch of the bulb on his back, unleashed a single seed which flew up into the air. Landing in close proximity to the small creature, the seed burst open with energy zapping vines and began to wrap themselves around the cherry like Pokemon. Shrieking out in a high pitched tone, the Cherubi wobbled from side to side. Suddenly, it winced it's eyes and puffed up it's pair of little cheeks, the Pokemon shockingly doubling or even tripling in size! Out of fear it had used to move Growth but if anything, it just made itself become a clearer target for Dros to aim for. The vines still wrapped around it's body sucking an ounce of energy from Cherubi before feeding it back to Dros in the form of little balls of green light.

Martin wasn't disappointed per se, when there was no reaction from the Cherubi to his offer. Its trembling form and wild eyes left the impression of one too far away to perceive its current reality and choose a proper course of action. So Martin chose for it, and not being stupid enough to try a ball right off the bat on a Pokemon that had given no sign it was willing, he gave his order to Dros. An eyebrow rose at Dros' seemingly gentle way with the Cherubi, and Martin calculated if this behaviour was good or bad for one of his Pokemon. He had done his outmost to instill in them to be careful with all things plant life, and maybe Dros merely thought he needed to treat grass Pokemon with the same care as the plants they handled. He let it slide for now, and watched intendly as Dros' Leech Seed stuck to the red berry, the Cherubi responding by growing in size. It still looked frightened though, and Martin took a single step back to make room for the battle to come. He was a bit annoyed, he realized. Thinking about it, none of his grass pokemon so far had shown signs of fighting spirit. They were compliant and followed his wishes well enough, but such calm nature wouldn't do much to scare off offenders. If the Cherubi was so frightened by this casual meeting, it gave little hope of a fierce defender. Martin would catch it either way. He wasn't likely to have such luck a second time. However, he was starting to fear, he would never meet a grass type as fierce as the Spearow he had met first thing for example. Martin scowled at the thought, and ordered a Tackle from Dros. Of course he had far from seen or met every grass type in existence, so his chances were still good. Just in case, he would make a plan B and find a way to train some fierceness into one of the grass types he had already gotten his hands on, Martin decided, and thought his current team through for potential candidates, while Dros set in motion.____________ (Ooc: Dros uses Tackle I'm curious, how you calculate the damage from Leech Seed? I've seen discrepancies between battles, and even from post to post, so wanted to check. On bulbagarden it says Leech Seed takes 1/8 of the target's HP (from 2nd gen. onward). Looking at the entry for Leech Seed again I finally found the sentence where it states it doesn't work on Grass types :s I had doubts in my last post, because I couldn't find anything about it. Anyway, don't know how you'll take it from here, whoever mods this next.)
Morri: My mistaken on two accounts. I did miscalculate the Leech Seed by 2 points but Grass types do avoid the attack. Sorry, I have never been the best at remembering the smaller details.

The Cherubi, using up stored nutrients from inside of it's body, had ballooned into a bigger size and with it, Martin grew disappointed. He longed for a fierce grass type but instead, he had stumbled across a fearful bud. The male had somewhat hoped for a chance to meet with one of these swarming Pokemon and now that he had, other than being a grass type, Martin noted that it had no real qualities to it. The Cherubi was clearly fearful and how it even got to the top of the tree earlier, let alone avoid being pecked down by a passing flying type, would forever be a mystery.
Still, he had no room to pick and choose. It may have been early days but Martin still had the opportunity to whip the Cherubi into shape and morph it into the type of garden defender he was after. Atleast, if he was able to successfully capture it. Upon gaining back some sense, the Cherubi's extra bit of bulk and size had raised it above the eye level of Dros. As long as it was higher than those around it, the Cherubi could summon a shred of courage and therefore defend itself. With power coursing through it's body, the wild Pokemon shook from side to side, managing to upheave the life sucking seed which had clung to it's body.
Without the main hub attached to the Cherubi, the vines which had tightened around it's body immediately loosened, slumping to the ground and rendering the previous Leech Seed useless. Cherubi had broken free! Wobbling about on the spot, it felt much better now that the irritating tingling had gone. But the Bulbasaur had now received a more physical order, despite having tried to play nice from the very beginning. It was the Cherubi's own fault for not accepting the kinder offer from earlier. Lowering his head, Dros charged into a tackle attack, his hard, broad head slamming into the body of the Cherubi.
Shrieking out in surprise, the wild berry recoiled backward. It had probably never been in a battle it's entire life from the reaction it gave. Letting out a series of pained cries, it shared a stare with Dros, who had only been following orders. Puffing up it's cheeks again, the Cherubi made a surprisingly energetic bound forward, hitting Dros with a tackle attack of it's very own! Only, with the increase of it's size, the Cherubi's power had also increased and was practically level with Dros' own attack.
Cherubi: | Level 10 | Health: 74% ( 24/32 HP) Status: +1 Atk, +1 Sp. Atk Cherubi used Tackle!
VS
Dros: | Level 10 | Health: 72% (23/32 HP) Status: Normal Dros used Tackle!
OOC: Shook off leech seed, sorry again for the mistake! Though in a way I don't understand why you would use leech seed if you already knew it wouldn't work. Unless it was simply for writing purposes. It caught me off guard a little bit I guess.

Martin's mind was partly occupied by his planning for the future, and he barely registrered, that the Cherubi shook off Dros' seed. If he had been more mindful, he might have been slightly impressed by its' foresight, but as it was, he only rose an eyebrow, when it tackled Dros back with just as much force as him. Martin dragged his mind back from thoughts on who apart from Juun should get his attention battle wise, and he began calculating the reasons behind the Cherubi's force. It was bigger from whatever it did before. That might have been 'growth', which would have given it a boost. Maybe the bud wasn't as disabled by its fright, as he had thought. It was too late though to make another attempt at ending things peacefully. "Go on, Dros. No holding back now. Tackle again." He ordered, keeping his voice level, almost uncaring.
Dros was gasping a little from the Cherubi's retaliation, but he tried not to be too obvious. He didn't want to appear weak in these situations, as he had long since figured out, that battles could be far between, and would be the only break from Martin's endless garden work. He scraped a foot against the frosty ground, glancing at his opponent in the hope that it wasn't too hurt by his actions. Its shrieking had been terrifying, and he preferred to start off on friendly basis, when Martin captured it. He had no doubt Martin would capture it. So far Martin had kept to every word he had said, so Dros had no reason to doubt him in that regard. "I'm very sorry about this." he expressed sincerely, while charging forward again.
_________ (Ooc: Dros uses Tackle again. I didn't remember, if it worked or not, and couldn't find where it said so at the time, so I figured the mod would know, and I had room for a mistake or two.)

Apologising in his own way, Dros followed through with his order and once again went in for a quick Tackle attack. Boasting a bit more experience than the Cherubi, though it wasn't all that much, the Bulbasaur had faster movements than his wild foe. His chunky legs hurrying through the snow scattered ground, the grass type approached the enlarged Cherubi with a lowered head. Bounding forward last minute, his rock hard skull came into contact with the fragile cherry and sent it rolling backwards through the snow. Shuddering from the impact, Dros skidded to a halt before taking a step or two backwards, in order to give the wild Pokemon some breathing space. Feeling the cold touch of snow run down the side of it's body, the wild Cherubi shook before rolling back up onto it's own little set of feet. Eyes blinking towards the Bulbasaur, with every attack, the Cherubi began to realise just what battles were all about. It had been petrified at first and even now it was scared but the Cherubi had managed to stand it's ground up until this point, so maybe it still had a chance to escape. Or so where the thoughts running through it's mind. It had yet to realise just what Martin meant by capturing it and if the human succeeded, then the little cherry would become another member of his gardening projects.
Hopping forward with a skip and a jump, the enlarged Cherubi shuffled it's way through the snow towards Dros. Following up with a tackle attack of it's own, the Bulbasaur winced ever so slightly. The two Pokemon were still on similar levels of strength but if the Cherubi realised how useful it's Growth attack was, then it could potentially turn the tides of the battle to favour itself.

Martin Growth GardenerMartin took care to pay attention, when the two Pokemon clashed again. Dros no longer looked to be holding back at least, but the Cherubi likewise gave as good as it got. Martin's earlier disappointment evaporated at the display. He could work with this. However, Dros was looking a bit too exhausted after the last collision, no matter how much he tried to hide it, and Martin didn't keep him around so he could exhaust himself in meaningless battles. All that energy was much better put to use in a garden. Martin patted the pocket, where Tergi's ball rested. He had every intention of putting her into play later, but right now the Cherubi needed a fresh opponent to tear it down just a little more. "That's enough, Dros. T'ief will take it from here." He said, opening one ball and closing another, two flashes of light melting into one. Thief shook himself in front of Martin's feet and looked up, most likely looking for permission to enter the fray. He had learned his lesson, and Martin gave a curt nod, both granting the permission and shoving his satisfaction at Thief's newfound humility. "Blind it with Sand Attack."Thief sprang forward, immediately ready to kick up every grain of sand in the vicity. He had only just gotten the hang of the technique, and looked forward to see his opponents' eyes water in irritation. He was disappointed to find the ground completely frozen and covered in a thin layer of fluffy snow, but he still needed to do as told. He would have to get inventive then, and Thief pushed testingly at the snow at his feet. That might work. (Ooc: Thief changes in, and uses Sand Attack)
