Astrid slept dreamlessly under several warm blankets. The day before had been enhausting for the old woman as it had been a long time ago since she had last had such and adventure.
Bump
Astrid stirred but didn't wake up. Suddenly her bed jumped a bit and Astrid opened her eyes only to look into a face of a skiddo. "Yakul?" She asked groggy and the skiddo fought to get back on her hooves in the soft, bouncy bed. Astrid stared at the pokemon who nodded her head and then started to bounce around on the bed playfulle, before making a funny jump and fall of the bed. Astrid rubbed her eyes, when had Yakul managed to get out the book? Something else fell over and Astrid pushed the thought from her, it didn't matter, she needed to get her under control. She resolute pulled the blankets off her and groaned as her whole body started to aching. "Froakie?" Ella asked concerned and the other pokemon turned to look at their trainer, worry visible in their faces. "I'm alright, just sore from all the exercise yesterday, can't you feel it yourself?" Astrid asked with a little laugh, as Ella and Cyan nodded knowlingly, they were both sore as well. Janus and whismur shook their heads, while Yakul tried and failed to jump up inot a chair. "Yeah, I did so much yesterday, that I can't move at all" Placido murmured sarcastically, though to quiet for anyone to notice. Astrid stretched painfully and her stomach growled. "I can't remember when I last time was this hungry, what time is it?" She said pussled to herself and tripped to the window. Her eyes widened when she looked outside. No wonder it was cold yesterday, it had snowed! "That was just in time we got here, but what to do now?" She mumbled to herself, as she thought of the clothes she had brought with her. She had a warms sweater and her raincoat, but that would not be fitting for temperatures like this, not in her age. "Hey, I have copyright on that," Placido said quietly to Astrid with a wry smile, and Cyan looked curiously at him, not knowing what he was talking about. Astrid clapped her hands together. "Better get some breakfast," she glanced out of the window to try guess the time, "or brunch, and then I can decide what to do afterwards." She decided and slowly got dressed. ~ ~ ~
The PokemonCenter had a small cafeteria where she could get some food and learn it was almost midday, which surprised her even more. She usually woke at sunrise. As she ate one of Nurse Joys assistance approached her. "You are Astrid Lindegaard, right?" She asked in a sugar sweet voice and Astrid looked up from her soup (perfect for a cold day like this). "Yes?" "Your packaged arrived this morning, I'll go fetch it," the assistance told her and disappeared before Astrid could protest, she hadn't ordered anything. The package the assistant delivered wasn't that big and it was adressed to her. She opened it right away and found a very strange hat, and a one of those discs to use with computers. There was also a letter and she laid the things beside her on the table as she read it.
Astrid frowned as the letter from her son and daughter-in-law was awfully polite distanced in its writing. She had lost most of her contact with her family due to the head of the family, Frederik, and she surely hadn't expected them to contact her, as she knew it would be against Frederiks will. Aglaia and Dorthea was one of the few she still talked with regulary. "So Aglaia doesn't tell you much, huh?" Astrid thought aloud, there were no other reason for them to ask her to contact them and tell about her journey, they hadn't talked for years. It didn't explain their gifts though, so perhaps they still cared about her and this was what they dared to do. She read the descriptions of the items as she tried to figure out how it could help and protect her.
Something snapped beside Astrid and she looked just in time to see Yakul spit the rest of the tm out of her mouth, it hadn't tasted very good and she had a funny feeling in her head. "Yakul!" Astrid exclaimed angrily and grabbed the little skiddo's horns. "You cannot just go and eat everything you come across! That was a gift and now you have destroyed it!" She scolded and Yakul looked devastated down as she could feel her feelings through her horns. She understood that Astrid was angry with her and that it was wrong she had tried to eat the tm. The last thing she would have understood without the scolding as it had been horrible sharp in her mouth which was a but sore at the moment.
Astrid looked at the skiddo and sighed as she gathered the broken tm and threw it into the empty box with the letter. She had no use for any of it. She grabbed Yakul and pressed the funny hat, which was called and xp-share down over her head. Yakul was still subdued from the scolding and accepted without any protests. "It actually fits you," Astrid commented more friendly and looked at Ella. "I think she has too much energy to be kept inside, could you take her out to let her play around the building? You can all go, if you promise to stay close by and out of danger." She said when she saw the hopeful expression on Cyan's face. Ella nodded and the whole team moved towards the doors, Yakul waited beside Astrid and looked questioningly between her and the others. "Go on," Astrid said with a smile and waved the skiddo off, and she bounced after the other. ~ ~ ~
Janus crawled up on Yakul's back as soon as they got outside. It was cold and he was so small he disappeared in the snow. Yakul stood as frozen and stared in amazement at the new white, cold stuff that lays on the ground. The others were mostly watching her reactions as they had seen snow before in some kind of way. "Kip!" Cyan exclaimed surprised when he got a snowball in the back of his head. Placido laughed and threw another on after him and then another for Ella. As the froakie was quick to send one back at him, Cyan joined the play too and threw snow around with his tail. Yakul watched in amazement before she got caught up in the laugh and jumped around playfully without throwing any snow[/i] and forced Janus to work hard to not be thrown off. At the corner of a house, a little figure peek out to see what was going on.
(ooc: I would like the Xp-share from Aglaia moved to Astrid and attached to Yakul please. "Used" TM Bulk Up on Yakul. The "shadow" is the Snorunt, who I will wait a bit before fully introducing.)

The Pokemons playing in the snow were drawing attention, and not only by mysterious shadows lurking at house corners. A Rattata had been out since sunrise, digging for food in the snow, and had finally been lucky in a dumpster near the Pokecenter. Now it was sated, it took a moment to digest before moving on, but got curious at the happy sounds close by. It slipped down from its eating place, ran on agile feet along the house wall, and stopped shortly at the house corner where another Pokemon too was peeking around. Rattata paid it no mind, though it was different from the usual wild Pokemon in the area. It could be a trainer's Pokemon. He greeted it with a Tail Whip, at the same time asking permission to join in the peeking, and, expecting no problems from that front, took a look. Rattata counted four Pokemon having fun, and it looked way too fun not to join. It squeaked and ran forward, while it chattered loudly to the sky. Rattata had a friend living in this area, it had intended to visit after its meal, but this would be even better. Rattata stopped short just at the edge of the four's play ground, and rose to its hindlegs. "Can I play along?" It asked sincerely. "I have a friend too." It looked to the sky, and true enough a Spearow swooped down just beside it. "What's happening?" it asked, and looked around, before setting its imploring eyes on the Rattata. The Rattata grinned. "They are playing." It nodded towards the gathering, and made some playful jots at the Spearow, who crowed in interest and ruffled its feathers. Wild EncounterWeather: light snow (no effect in battle)A Rattata (level 5) and a Spearow (level 7) wants to play along! Who is up for some rough play? Astrid looked after her pokemon as they all scurried out the door, and smiled to the people who were looking pussled at her. "Doesn't seem like it is usual to let your pokemon run around on their own, I wonder why," Astrid thought, but saw no reason for it to be so. They were just playing outside and she didn't expect them to get into any trouble or going into any battles, when she wasn't along. Wild pokemon didn't battle much, right? They were like children she had just sent out to play in the garden, and she was sure they would do no harm and would come to her, if they needed her. She turned her attention back to her food and the letter she had got from her family. She had quickly come to the conclusion they hoped she could give them some informations about Aglaia's whereabouts, but that didn't fit with the gifts they have sent her as well. They hadn't needed to send them as they could have asked her without. The other possibility, that they hoped she would pass them on to Aglaia, didn't make much sense either, as they hadn't written anything about it, and it looked like it was to her with all their wishes to her safety. She looked thoughtfully ahead of her, could it really be a tiny attempt for them to build a connection with her again? That would be against Frederiks wishes, so would they really dare to do that? Would they really want to do that, after all these years? She looked at the damaged TM and decided she wanted to find someone who could tell her a bit about their value, perhaps it could give her a clue about their attentions. ~~~ The Shadow at the corner, jumped startled when the rattata suddenly talked to it, and it quickly backed away from it, further into the shadows. It was a snorunt, not a usual pokemon around this part and the only reason she had managed to stay wild, was because she was so careful and had mastered to stay hidden, even without any snow. She had mostly been so succesful because it had avoided everyone, humans and pokemon alike and had lived isolated to avoid any attention. It was a lonely life and though she was interested in what was going on and would love to join the fun, she didn't dare and even if she had, she wouldn't know how to do it. She exhaled relieved when the rattata continued and left her alone to peek at the playing. ~~~ Ella had stopped participating in the snow fight as she was still tired from the travel and battle the day before. She was fine looking at the other and she smiled friendly to the wild newcomers. It was to expect, but a bit surprising they dared come this close to where trainers were spending most of their time, when they weren't out training. Yakul was still jumping around in her excitement for the game. She danced past the rattata and kicked with her hindlegs, which was close to hit the normal type, and threw Janus down right in front of it. He quickly got to his feet and smiled up to the rattata. "How are you going to throw snow?" He asked curiously. "Whatch out!" Cyan called to them as he had lost his footing on the icy ground and was gliding towards them. He would ram into the bird, if it didn't move. Placido, who had given Cyan a pust, stood laughing behind while he was gathering more of the thin layer of snow, so he had something he could throw after the others. (ooc: Yakul is send in first, and swithces immediately with Janus. Eyeing their newfound friends with the utmost curiosity Rattata and Spearow were looking forward to a fun time in the snow. As excited as they were however Rattata nearly had a heart attack when Yakul danced past it and nearly jumped into it. The rat Pokemon grew a bit confused as she threw Janus to the ground in her place thinking she was trying to use the bug type as a bowling ball in the snow. Trying to regain it's cool it turned towards Spearow who had watched the whole ordeal thinking it was rather silly. Wanting to protect it's friend from harm however Spearow knew it had to do something. It looked over at Cyan and Janus with a terrifying look in it's eyes trying to prove a point leaving both Pokemon a bit unnerved. Rattata decided to wag it's tail towards Janus with a Tail Whip hoping to defuse the situation before Spearow could take things too seriously but as it did Cyan could not stop sliding and rammed the bird with a decent amount of power. As the bird recovered from the sliding Tackle it was beginning to think these new friends were pretty rough which although it was hoping for a play date it was not expecting any roughhousing to occur so early. However Spearow was more than willing to roughhouse a bit itself and as it waited to see what Cyan and Janus would do next before jumping to any conclusions. After all it had just met these Pokemon and perhaps they were not used to the snow. Double Battle

Astrid chewed the last of the food and patted her full stomach. She couldn't rememeber when she had last eaten this much, though she knew most people she knew, would be happy to see it, and not belive it if she told them. She gathered her stuff and went to the front desk to see if Nurse Joy had time to answer her questions about the items she had got. ~~~ "Sorry," Cyan laughed sheepishly as he got back on his feet and backed away from the spearow he had knocked off its feet. As the bird glared threateningly his mood dropped and he was unsure if it was really angry at him or not. He pawed the snow a bit before growling back in a halfhearted playfulness, hoping to get a positive reaction and not an angry one. He wanted to play with them but had expected them to throw around snow, and after he had perhaps ruined everything by ramming into one of them, perhaps they didn't wanted to play anymore? Janus did not take it too near, accidents happened and though the bird in front of him made him want to run and hide, especially after it had stared at him, he stayed where he was. The rattata seemed friendly enough, swinging its tail around in greeting, or so he read the meaning of it. It was quite cold sitting in the snow, since his small size made it seem like he was sitting in a huge pile of it, instead of the light sprinke it really was. He looked around to see if he could see Yakul anywhere, or anyone else he could catch a ride on, as this was simply too cold. He could get last in this white stuff. "Ouch!" Cyan complained as small electric energies escaped Janus muscles, as they shook in the attempt to keep him warn. Janus look wondering at the mudkip, who retreated to a safe distance from him, not understanding what was bothering the water type. Ella looked on a bit worried, the situation seemed a bit too tense to just be a frinedly game, and where had the joltik disappeared to? Placido followed what was happening closely too, though for now he just found it funny. He thought Cyan needed a push to find his guts and as long as it was all just fun and games, then there was no harm done. Yakul hadn't noticed anything was off and continued to jump around. (ooc: Cyan uses growl and Janus Thunder wave, which preferable target are the spearow, but since he isn't aiming, I'm letting it be up to the mod)

While all 4 Pokemon were caught up in the strange circumstance that was playing and not technically a battle, but kind of was, the snow continued to fall to fuel their eventual snow tossing game. All Pokemon seemed relatively friendly still, although Spearow was on edge. It had gotten a bit too physical for Spearows liking earlier with the strange happenstance with Cyan, and now there was an electric Pokemon on the field. Rattata didn't seem to mind, and both opposing Pokemon were both willing to forgo their normal, speedy attacks, to see how the trainer's Pokemon wanted to evolve the game.
Sensing that they were to go first, Cyan dropped to his forepaws and waggled his body a bit before growling playfully. Cyan was good at keeping the Pokemon at bay and still playful. Rattata didn't shy away, and found the growl amusing, whereas Spearow narrowed it's eyes. It didn't like where this was heading. Joltik shook it's body and discharged an electrical attack, and although it would have liked to hit Spearow, it came within mere fractions of a feather before zipping by. That was hit. Spearow let out an angry cry, startling all 3 Pokemon around it. It whipped it's head over to Rattata and said something to it, firing up the Rattata as well. Okay, they wanted to get rough? The game was over.
Eyes narrowed at the Joltik, Spearow flapped forward and pecked into it's body with it's beak. The Joltik was heavily damaged by it, and the Rattata followed suit with a tackle. Despite the growl earlier from Cyan, Joltik was weakened from the Tail whip and Leer attack. Spearow ruffled up it's feathers angrily and stomped it's foot. Whether or not they were playing earlier, this was now a full fledged Pokemon battle, and it would have probably ended up that way anyways. Both Pokemon were furious, and it was likely that a battle wasn't going to be avoided. Play time was over. Wild Rattata | Level 5 | Health : 19/19 Status : Normal (ATK -1) Move: Tackle on Janus
Wild Spearow | Level 7 | Health : 17/24 Status: Normal (ATK -1) Move: Peck on Janus
VERSUS! (Weather: Light Snow) Astrid's Janus | Level 6 | Health : 4/23 Status : Normal (Defense -2) Move: Thunder Wave (Missed)
Astrid's Cyan | Level 8 |Health : 28/28 Status : Normal (Defense -1) Move: Growl (I know you're going for the whole 'playing' aspect here, but even if you are, you have to 'playfully' say who is going to attack who. There is no mod choosing who attacks who in the game. Even though you're going with that type of interaction, you have to make the battle make sense. So, Thunder Wave missed because you didn't specify a target, sorry :/ )

There were a smaller line at the desk and Astrid waited paitently while the nurse took care of the more importants things than her personal question. A trainer was handing over a few pokeballs with a worried expression while Nurse Joy reassured him it wasn't that bad and that she would have them fit for fight again shortly. Just as it looked like she would have time for Astrid and she stepped forward, yet another trainer hurried through the door. He hesitated when he saw that Nurse Joy was occupied with the old woman and he looked torn. She surely didn't look like a trainer and he thought his errand was more important since it was about his pokemon, but he didn't wanted to be rude and push her away. Astrid smile and gestured for him to go ahead and stepped back to wait. She soon got her answers though, and it made her very thoughtful as the gifts clearly was something more than just a throwaway. She felt ashamed Yakul had destroyed one of them. ~~~ Cyan backed in surprise of the sudden change of mood. He growled nervously and felt very alone even though his two opponent had their attention on Janus instead of him, but since the joltik was so small it, to him, felt like he was facing them all on his own. Janus was even more surprised than his team mates, he had no idea why they suddenly teamed up against him. He hadn't even noticed that he had used electricity before, nor that it could hurt anybody else, he was just cold and it was a natural reaction for him to try keep warm. "What is wrong?" He asked the spearow directly, not intimidated by its agressive behavior. He had lived a peaceful and protected life and expected them to explain, and that it would solve what ever was going on. "Oh no," Ella mumbled to herself and hurried forward when Janus was thrown back after having released his thunder wave. Luckily it hadn't hit anyone though Cyan had been bothered by it. "Ella?" Janus asked surprised when she jumped to his side and practically threw him backwards, away from the birds. "Calm down Cyan, I'm here," she said to the panicking mudkip, who took a deep breath and tried to calm himself. He was not alone. "I'm not sure what happened, but Janus is young and haven't battled much. I'm sure whatever happened was an accident," she said to the spearow and the rattata. "I wasn't battling!" Janus protested somewhere in the snow behind her. "Of course not, you just thought it would be fun to spread some light around here," Placido said sarcastically as he came up and helped the joltik out of the snow. Cyan couldn't help but giggle. Janus looked utterly confused, "what do you mean?"Yakul had stopped her jumping around and was now standing like a statue as she tried to understand what was going on. She hadn't really experienced battles before as she had just hatched the last one she had seen, and then had been too overwhelmed by the world around her to pay it any focus. The snorunt turned around on its little heels and hurried away when the game turned into a real battle. It would be too risky to stay around one of those. (ooc: it was also a bit tricky to figure out what to do when it wasn't a real battle. I think I shall just try to aim for playbattles instead ^^ Cyan uses Growl again, while Ella switches with Janus and attempts to talk with their opponents.)

The friendly game in the snow had certainly changed into a heated and tense atmosphere in a short space of time, simply due to an accident started by Cyan. The misstep had resulted in the Mudkip tackling into the Spearow and since then, everything had spiralled out of proportion with Janus' attempted Thunder Wave being the cherry on the cake. Eyes leering in absolute anger, the Spearow couldn't fathom why such a nice looking group had, more than once, sent attacks it's way. Sure it had more of an intimidating appearance than it's Rattata pal but even the purple rodent had since been fired up, wanting to look out for it's own friend too. Misunderstandings were the core of this strange battle and the two wild Pokemon weren't the type to forgive easily after letting their guard down in the first place. They had wanted some fun in the soft snow but if their opponents wanted something else, they could do that too.
No more talking, it was time to step the game up.
The Spearow, who had been most affected by this, turned it's head as the Froakie hopped onto the scene, pulling the young Joltik away to avoid him receiving any further harm. The rough avian understood the words of Ella clearly but simply responded to her words with an aggravated huff and flap of it's wings. What further annoyed the wild Pokemon was when the onlookers chimed in with laughter and sarcastic comments and although it wasn't aimed at the Spearow directly, it's hot head had long reached boiling point. In fact, seeing Cyan chuckle was what caused the Rattata to intervene. Did it's friend Spearow laugh earlier when it was hit with a Tackle? No! So with it's friend's best interest in mind, the purple rodent sped away from the Spearow's side and bolted straight for the unsuspecting Cyan. Landing a Quick Attack which was enough to knock the Mudkip down in the snow.
Scoffing in amusement, the Spearow eyed Cyan as he pulled himself up from the snow. Then turning to Ella, the Spearow thought of something. With her interfering, it was never able to finish off that annoying little Joltik. This, or any reason it could find, fuelled it on attacking the Froakie. With a flap of it's wings, the Spearow honed in on Ella, who was quick enough to react, atleast able to attempt to defend herself, unlike poor Cyan hadn't been able to. Pecking forward numerous times with the odd kick of it's talons, the Spearow unleashed a relenting fury attack, swiping at Ella numerous times and landing a number of strikes. Turning after a while, it went back over to the Rattata and landed, not wanting to become so distracted that it would miss it's friend becoming injured in any way.

Astrid looked thoughtfully at the snow outside the window. She couldn't do much about the gifts, but she could make sure she could actually venture outside in this weather. She walked to a free computer as she knew she could find what she needed through that, perhaps she could even get a nearby shop to deliver if she called them. If not she could find the closest so she didn't have to go far. She had looked for stuff like that plenty of times before, both in her job as secretary but it had also proved to be a plus when being one of those with walking difficulties. She saw the video program and hesitated. She was tempted to call one of her granddaughters, they were always the ones she had spent most time with, but she decided against it and started to look for a good warm jacket and winter boots. ~~~ Placido looked at Janus like he was an idiot and the joltik looked back annoyed as he didn't understood what the problem was. "You sent electricity after a bird, and you wonder why it was angry?" Placido asked shaking his head. "I did not!" Janus protested, "I did not attack anyone."Placido rolled his eyes, "So why did Cyan whimper? He is a water type and you hurt him," Placido said even more angry. He liked the happe mudkip and preferred him to stay that way. I didn't do anything, Janus protested more worried than angry, but Placido interrupted him before he could continue, "tell me what did you do just before he moved away from you?"Janus frowned as he tried to think of what Placido may had meant, "I tried to stay warm.." he started and got interrupted again. "Yes! And that was with an electric move that hurt Cyan!" Placido snarled and turned his back on the astonished joltik to watch the battle. Cyan could feel it was a going to be a real battle, and he took a few steps back nervously. He didn't get far before the rattata sent him falling into the snow and hadn't it looked so angry, he would ahve thought it was just playing. "Hey Cyan, we can do this, together!" Ella called out to him and smiled encouragingly. "I need your help though and I need your help..." she stared but she had to cover head as the spearow attacked her furiously. "Ella!" Cyan gasped worried but the froakie just looked dryly after the bird as it retreated to its friend. "You look like you need to cool down, let me help you," she shouted to the spearow and blew a series of bubbles after it. Cyan giggled and she smiled wryly to him. "Go on, growl at them, let them believe we are really weak so we can take them by surprise like you did in your last battle," she urged him and he nodded eagerly. He did his best to look innocent and unthreateningly, before he growled cutely. Yakul tilted her head and watched what they were doing, but it couldn't keep her attention long and she started to play around in the snow on her own.

As the battle got more fierce, the Rattata was more than ready now to attack anyone but its friend Spearow. Running as fast as it could, it eyed itself on the Froakie, making Ella uneasy and falsely prepared for an incoming attack. However, at the last second, the Rattata took a turn to slam the Mudkip, making Cyan the true target of this Rattata's sly attack. Well, or maybe the Rattata wasn't sly, maybe the cold weather and the fired up combined make the Rattata looked like it was targeting Ella. Not happy that the little Joltik was gone, the Spearow tried to attack the Froakie by hopping closer to the frog. However, instead of getting close to the frog, the Spearow was greeted by a series of bubbles popping on its face. The bird was a step too slow to strike the Froakie! Testing to see how protective the Froakie was, the flying Pokemon headed toward Cyan instead. The mudfish was younger and less experienced than the frog, and Cyan got hit by the Spearow's sharp beak before he could dodge! Ouch... Shaking his head to mentally shake off the pain, Cyan took a few seconds to prepare himself for an attack before the Spearow got too far away for the Growl to be effective. He swallowed and cleared his throat, and then cried cutely at the opponent, to make the Spearow more relaxed at attacking physically. After the quick exchange, the Spearow panted heavily, as the battle and the cool snow weakened the bird's body. It seemed apparent that the battles between these four were drawing toward a close for the bird and the mouse.

Astrid was lucky and rather quickly found a shop nearby that looked like it had what she needed. She decided to call them too, to be sure they did really have it home in the shop and ask if they could reserve it for her. When they confirmed she tahnked them happily and went upstairs to pack the little she needed so she could get proper dressed for this kind of weather. ~~~ Ella rather late noticed that the rattata was aiming for her, and it was first when Cyan shouted a warning and she saw it came running straight for her. She barely had time to prepare for the attack, but it also proved to be unnecessary as the rattata in the last second spun around and sent Cyan gliding through the snow. He was quickly back on his feet though it didn't last long as the spearow decided to make him its target as well. Ella's attempt to cool them down didn't work, nor did it stop them. Cyan cried out in pain and backed away, whimpering while Ella looked worried at him. "Are you alright Cyan?" She called out but he didn't answer. Suddenly someone placed a paw on his head and turned it a bit. Cyan stopped his whimerping in surprise and looked confused at Placido, what was he doing. "Arh, sorry friend, you wont get a cool battle scar out of that," Placido said and winked to Cyan who couldn't help but smile weakly back. "That's better, don't let them steal you great smile," Placido said warmly and Cyan smiled more calmly. Ella draw back from the battle as Placido laid an arm around Cyan's shoulders and murmured to him, they often giggled and it looked like they were laying a bunch of mischiveous plans together. "Hey guys, I just want to say I'm really impressed by your snowball throwing skills" Placido called out to try get the two opponents attention, while Cyan attempted to get to tackle the spearow. (ooc: Placido switches with Ella, and Cyan uses Tackle on the spearow.)

As Placido came onto the scene and began giggling with his arm wrapped around the Mudkip, both of their opponents eyed them inquisitively. It was more than obvious that they were planning something and neither of them liked it. But they also didn't like the amount of health they had already lost. Both the Spearow and Rattata looked rough, their breathing becoming heavy, with scuff marks across their bodies from the onslaught of attacks they had since received. By this point, they had battle every Pokemon around them and to last this long, they were proud in themselves. Two against five wasn't half bad. They hadn't actually defeated one of them, partially due to how they view the challenge in a care free manner and changed positions every other moment. But it would happen soon, they were sure victory wasn't too far off.
Both Pokemon not liking the attitude of the Whismur, neither of them trusted what the two had just spoken. If Placido's aim was to act as a distraction, then he succeeded, as all of a sudden the two opponents lunged right at him. A faint glow edged around the Rattata, it's speed increased as it moved, using it's sharp claws to dash it's way through the snow. Dodging the approaching Mudkip completely by jumping over his charging head, the purple rodent went straight for Placido, using it's quick attack to land a speedy strike. Pushing Placido back on impact, the Rattata's own attack was a distraction in itself as Spearow suddenly appeared, swooping in as Rattata backed off.
Placido had been pinned, his body held in place by the Spearow's talons. Pulling back it's sharp beck, the rough feathered avian let loose a series of relentless strikes, pecking and slashing at the Whismur repeatedly and without holding back. Unable to escape, Placido felt his energy decrease at an alarming rate and if it had not been for Cyan, could've very well lost consciousness. The Rattata, enamoured with the attack of Spearow, hadn't noticed that the Mudkip had since ground to a halt and begun charging back. His blue body blurring past the Rattata, he was determined to help the Whismur! Leaping into the air, Cyan used his body weight to tackle the Spearow to the round, forcing the avian into the cold snow below.
Already low on health and it's previous attack taking a good bit of concentration, Cyan's tackle was enough to finish the Spearow off. It fought as hard as it could, not wanting to abandon it's Rattata partner but it just couldn't fight off it's body shutting down. Fainting on the spot, the Spearow breathed lightly, as it's body slept in order to regain it's lost energy. Rattata was now left alone but judging from the look in it's eyes, it had only grown angrier and more likely to lash out.

It didn't take long for Astrid to finish the little packing she needed to do. She only needed to go down to the nearest shop and not all the way to the next city. She double checked she had everything she needed, she had started to forget something once in a while, and then she headed down to the front door. She paused briefly at one of the information screens and frowned worried as she saw the forecast, it didn't look promising.
At the moment it ws still nice outside, freezing of course but otherwise a calm weather. Astrid smiled as she spotted her pokemon. They were just outside of the Pokemon center and was playing in the snow. they hadn't noticed her yet and she paused in the door to enjoy the sight. It looked like they had found some playmates as well, and... had an argument.. Placido staggered backwards as the two pokemon jumped on him though Cyan did his best to get the spearow of him as fast as possible. "What is going on here!?" Astrid exclaimed and hurried down the stairs and through the snow towards the whismur.
Yakul had been tripping around in the snow on her own, but when she heard the old womans voice, she looked up. Ella was slowly walking closer, while Cyan had his focus on Placido, whom was half laying down. Janus was nowhere to see. Her eyes went to the rattata behind them, it looked pretty angry and Yakul looked upset at the other pokemon. Astrid was moving right into the middle of the battle and none of them were paing it any attention. They weren't protecting her!
Astrid reached Placido and supported him while he drank the potion she held to his mouth. Cyan was standing with his back to the rattata and was looking cencerned at the whismur, he asked Astrid several times if he was going to be alright, but she could of course not understand him. Placido got to his feet at patted Cyan on his head, "It's alright kiddo, I'm thick headed," he said with a wink before he bowed to Astrid to show his gratitude. Cyan ducked his head startled as something leaped over his head and they all three turned to look at what it was. "Yakul!?" Astrid gasped horrified as she could just imagine how it would go with the newly hatched skiddo.
Placido jumped forward and started to shout at the rattata to catch its attention again, while Yakul lowered her head and prepared to charge the rattata.
(ooc: round 1: Potion used on Placido, Yakul switched in instead of Cyan round 2: Placido used Echoed Voice and Yakul attempts a Tackle.)

The enraged Rattata became distracted itself as a voice called out, disrupting the flow of the battle. Intervening without a care of her own safety, Astrid hurried right through the middle of the battle field, in order to tend to her barely standing Pokemon, Placido. As soon as Astrid had appeared, all her Pokemon beside Yakul seemed to take their eyes away from the battle. But it was good that the Skiddo had been paying attention, as the Rattata didn't want to suddenly play nice just because a human had appeared. It glanced across to the body of it's fainted friend, Spearow, before hissing with it's fangs. It was going to have it's revenge! Jumping on the spot, the Rattata looked ready to attack Astrid herself until the body of Yakul came flying with a mighty jump over them all.
Widened eyes drawn to the movement, the Rattata locked onto it's target and used it's remaining strength to push itself to the limit. Moving maniacally, the Rattata moved in blinding speed, landing a tackle attack on the fragile Skiddo. Skidding backward, due to Yakul being so young, the attack hurt terribly. But she wasn't ready to give up. She needed to protect Astrid! Moving in for another tackle, the Rattata once again dodged her attempts by using another quick attack, greatly outspeeding the Skiddo and landing her in a painful predicament. Through her best intentions she had joined the battle but in the same instant, she had fallen. The second attack from the much stronger Rattata knocked Yakul to the ground, her eyes closing gently.
Witnessing this, Whismur pushed himself away from the arms of his trainer and approached the rodent, enraged. Opening his mouth widely, Placido screamed at the top of his lungs, circular sound waves forming in the air. Lowering it's ears with strained eyes, the Rattata tried to fight through it to quick attack again but it was far too late. The soundwaves slamming into the rodent, it was also overpowered and fell to the ground, fainting on the spot.

Yakul was quie astonished by the rattata's speed and easily got confused of the tempo in the battle. She felt something hitting her and staggered from the blow, but she was stubborn and wouldn't give up just because of that. Astrid needed her. She barely felt the second blow as everything suddenly went dark, though she was aware that she was laying down and her eyes were closing. It was probably time for a nap. As the rattata too lay in the snow silence fell over the group. Astrid rose slowly, it wasn't easy to get up so close to the gorund in her age, and quietly walked to the fainted skiddo. She let a hand run down her leafy fur before she recalled her. The rattata she captured in a pokeball before she hurried back inside to let Nurse Joy take a look at them. "Were in trouble," Janus noted as he crawled up to the others again. Not that he had been far away, he was just easy to miss. "Why? It was them who turned it into a real battle, but first after that you attacked them, accident or not," Placido protested, to which the joltik looked at him calmly. "And how are you going to tell her that?" Janus replied unfazed and Placido sent him a worried look. "That is true, and even if she is going to angry with us, remember that it wasn't our fault," Ella said and looked directly at Cyan, who already looked like the thought he had messed everything up. "And we're together in this," Ella continued and this time she looked directly at Placido, who looked challenging back. "Perhaps we should help the spearow?" Cyan suddenly chirped in and they all looked aorund, but they couldn't see it. "It was a good idea, but I think it has already retreated. It is close to a lot of human trainers around here. They must have been really brave to join us right in front of the door," Ella said thoughtfully. The door in question went up and Astrid came out to them with a serious expression on her face. Yakul was at her heel and looked like nothing had happened. "What were you thinking?!" Astrid started off right away and Cyan looked devastated, while Placido avoided her eyes and Janus slowly disappeared behind Ella, who was staring right back and their trainer, to show her they had done nothing wrong. "I asked you to go out and run of some steam, to go and play a bit, not to start a battle! Look what happened? Yakul is no more than a babe, how did you ever think she could survive a battle?! We're lucky something worse didn't happened." Astrid scolded them loudly. "You can't just go around and start battles without me being there, what if you had all been in even bigger trouble? You could all be terrible hurt!"Ella's expression softened a bit when she understood Astrid mostly was angry because she was worried about them. "I have one you should apologize to though," Astrid said firmly and took hold of Yakul's horn before she raised a pokeball to let out the rattata. It was good she did so, as Yakul made a half attempt to leap at the rattata the moment she say it. The last time she had seen it, it had been all about protecting Astrid and even though the woman's hold on her horn made her understand she shouldn't attack it now, she was still wary of it. Janus crawled forward immediately, "I'm sorry that I made the play a fight, I wasn't aware what my electricity could cause," he said honestly and plainly. "Sorry," Cyan mumbled while Placido murmured something too quietly for anyone to hear. Ella walked forward and held a hand towards the rattata. She may disagree with Astrid's scolding, but she was not going to be rude towards a new team mate. "Hey there, I'm sorry for all which have happened, are you alright?" She asked friendly, and the rattata looked at her shortly, before turning his attention away. "Yeah yeah, where is my friend?" He asked and Ella had to apologize and tell him, that they did not know. He looked angry at her before he raced away to look for the spearow. "Oh," Astrid said surprised as she looked after him, "I hope that went alright," she said hesitantly as she looked unsure at Ella. The froakie had seemed friendly enough towards the rattata, perhaps he just didn't wanted to have a trainer. "With that settled, let's go to the shop," Astrid said and let go of Yakul as she gestured for the rest to follow her. It was a quick trip to the clothes shop and shortly after, Astrid stepped out in something much more fitting like a weather like this. "I'll guess it is limited what we will see of flowers, but let's go exploring anyway," she said happily and smiled excited to her pokemon. OOC: Rattata goes looking for his missing friend alone, while the rest is just looking around. Please place in team for now.
