Aas the final round of battle continued, Penelope wondered if her optimism and positiveness had an effect on Silver in any way. Even though he sounded the same and frustrated on the outside, perhaps on the inside he was starting to think differently? Shaking her head to clear her thought, she watched the battle continued itself. She merely won by a close call, and if she didn't have medicine with her, then she surely would have been lost. Silver had left her some prize for winning the battle, but left without any other words.

After the two Pokemon were returned, she headed toward Cherrygrove City, and was glad that she made the first step as a trainer, having beaten her first wild Pokemon battle and her first trainer battle.
