Don was confused for a moment as he was positive that they were in New Bark Town and he took a moment to find something to prove it. Before he could find anything to prove Astrid was truly in New Bark Town before another trainer walked into the Pokemon Center and mentioned that they were surprised to see New Bark Town had a Pokemon Center. Not wanting to dwell too much on where they currently were Don agreed to follow Astrid to a safe place where they could have a battle as he also knew that a Pokemon Center was no an appropriate place to have a battle. Once they reached the safe area and Astrid finished speaking he began to talk. " The only funny thing I did since we last met was when me and my Pokemon tried to battle what we thought was an Oddish but it was actually a Pidgey was a pile of grass stuck to it's head. Once we realized our mistake things did not go very well but it was a pretty funny mistake." As he caught his breath for a moment he began to speak again hoping not to bore Astrid too much. " I agree this looks like a nice spot. I really need the practice as well after the loss to Pidgey. My Pokemon got roughed up pretty badly in that fight and I really do not plan on such an embarrassing loss any time soon." He then looked down at his Weedle who was still a bit down having recalled the beating Pidgey had given it. " Do not worry about it too much buddy. We cannot win them all however I am sure things will go better this time around. Let's be safe and start things off with a String Shot attack to slow down your opponent so you can have a better chance of keeping up with it." He said as Weedle prepared to fire a silky string at it's foe. For the time being however Yakul was a bit faster and she managed to build up her defense and physical strength by stretching out and flexing her muscles. Just as her routine ended Weedle fired it's silky string to slow her down just like Wurmple had tried to do in her last battle. The goat struggled to move in the silky string as he speed dropped rapidly. " Nice job Weedle that String Shot really slowed down Astrid's Skiddo. Stay on your guard though as it looks like it is really strong. We do not want to make any mistakes here." He said as the first round came to a close. Pokemon Trainer Battle

It was luckily rather easy to find a nice area outside for their little training battle, though Astrid wondered why Don hadn't laughed when she had seen through his teasing. He didn't really believe he had been in New Bark town, had he? She smiled kindly when he told about the pidgey, happy he was able to get over the loss and try focus on the future and what to do differently, rather than just whine over the loss. Astrid was far from bored with him, she liked children especially after having become a grandmother herself, since it was something much else than to be a mother only. You got to have much more fun and spoil the children, and often the young ones where more friendly and polite towards you when you were old. "It is good you think it is funny, though is there not something about that birds eat bugs which would mean the battle was really hard for your weedle?" She asked him, hoping to learn how he was planning on training hiss pokemon. Don had helped Mikey quite a deal with his problem so Astrid guessed Don was more sensitive and knowledgeable about handling pokemon. Of course she could be wrong, with childen you never knew. "How are you planning on training, if I may ask?" She asked Don curiously, and added after a bit, "I have a flying type with me, but I do not think it will be the best idea to use it against your pokemon. I have jut caught him and I do not think I can control him yet. It would be a shame to risk the wellbeing of your pokemon." she said with the thought of using another pokemon than Yakul after this initial battle.
Astrid followed closely how Don was talking to his weedle and glanced at Yakul to see how the skiddo reacted. She had tensed when she had seen the bug, since those both were dangerous, which she knew instinctively, and were terrible to fight against as she had learned in her last battle. Rattata watched intently as well since this could be interesting, how would the skiddo react facing yet another bug who could probably blow the sticky thread?
"Skiddo!" exclaimed Yakul as she once more got hit with stringshot, and she didn't waste any time shaking her head or trying to get rid of it, but instead leaped forward. She had learned that it would only be worse as long as the weedle was standing, and she knew she couldn't get rid of the thread before the battle was over, natually that meant she had to get it down as fast as possible! She lowered her head and charged the weedle. "Yakul! Calm down!" Astrid called worried as the skiddo thundered forward.

"It sure was. That's why we lost." Don explained matter-of-fact. "Weedle and Caterpie will need to be a lot stronger before they are able to take on pidgeys and spearows, but we'll get there." Don continued enthusiastic, and he listened to Astrid's questions with open and curious eyes. He looked a bit worried, when she mentioned her flying type, but brightened considerable when it turned out, she didn't plan on using it. He thought about what training he did and planned, a finger dancing on his shorts in the meanwhile. "Well, we do practise aim a lot, when we're just ourself," and his Weedle nodded with a kind of tired agreement, like it was a very boring practise. "But really, Weedle and Caterpie seems to learn the most against real opponents. It's really difficult to set up good targets that move and all, so it's just easier to go out and find somebody that's training too." Here Weedle nodded more eagerly, showing his excitement at Don's summary. "I try to keep us fit too by walking and running and doing all kind of exercises in the trees. That way Weedle and Caterpie train their muscles and balance, and can move with more flex-i-bi-li-ty..." Don pronounced the word like it was something he had just learned recently and was still practising how to say it properly "...against opponents. It's slow, but they are getting stronger every day."Finished with covering his training agenda for now, Don turned to Weedle, and made a decision for the next move. "Looking good enough, Weedle. Time for a Poison Sting." Weedle crawled forward with a happy sound, ready for some action. The string plastered to Yakul really did a number on her, and she was forced to slow her run down, if she didn't want to trip over her own feet. Weedle weilded his poison stinger like a small sword on his head, and pointed it straight at Yakul's chest. Her jumping run made him miss a little, at the stinger scratched against her side, but it was enough to make her feel the burn of the poison against her skin. Yakul retaliated by turning and pushing Weedle to the ground harshly, before she had to jump out of the way of his small stinger once more. Weedle now looked roughed up and gasped in heavy breaths. Yakul fared somewhat better, but the wound from Weedle's hit hurt more than one would imagine from such a small scratch. Trainer Battle

Yakul was annoyed by the sticky thread that bothered her, but she was determined to continue and knock the yellow bug out before it got her covered in even more threads. She slammed into it and gasped when an immense pain hit her in the chest and she bleaked as the tiny scartched burned like it would eat her up. She bleated loudly and went into a panic as she jumped away and then gave him a small short tackle that sent him into the ground. She was breathing heavily and her eyes were covered with pain as she looked warily at the weedle. She was uncertain if it was best to charge it once more, or if she should avoid it at all costs. Astrid's voice drifted over, which made it clear what she had to do. She snorted, stomped a few times and then leaped towards the weedle again.
Astrid listened interested to what Don told her about his trainings methods. "You have really thought about it," she said impressed, "How is the target practicing helping you? I thought most training was just to try boost your pokemon's strength," Astrid asked honestly.
Then she grinned, "I do not think I can do much for training my pokemon's stamina. I can not climb in trees and I do not walk very well, so running is definitely out of the question!" "But I will figure something out I guess, we are definitely getting into a lot of battles," Astrid said with a smile.

Don was not sure how to answer Astrid's question she had about his target practice training as his Pokemon had a lot more work to do before it would be great. Although Weedle had really good aim for such a low leveled Pokemon he figured it would be best to show her the results of the training instead of trying to explain it. " To be perfectly honest it is easier if I show you the results of our training instead of trying to explain it. As good as an example Poison Sting was I think another String Shot will serve as a better example of how training your Pokemon to aim well can be just as good as training them to become stronger. Weedle use String Shot on Skiddo and aim for it's legs to slow it down even more." As the bug aimed at the goats legs the string like web stuck to the goats fur slowing her down to a crawl. Yakul was almost motionless as the web only seemed to grow stronger as she tried to break free. " I know Yakul is stronger than my Weedle so by aiming for her legs I can at least cause her to lose almost all of her movement. Sure it is a risky tactic and if she is able to still make an attack things will not end up very well but as they say the greater the risk the greater the potential reward." Although his plan seemed foolproof in theory he had forgotten just how determined and out of control the goat could become and that would be a mistake he would come to regret. As Yakul still struggled to even lift her leg as the web remained glued to her leg she once again defied the odds. Moving forward at a pace slower than a sloth she walked towards the bug type before tackling the poor Weedle in a slow motion full bodied tackle that left the bug unconscious. " Well it looks like even with impeccable aim we were not able to stop your Skiddo however I still have another Pokemon. Caterpie it is now your turn to battle." He said as the caterpillar exited it's Pokeball and looked at him. The small bug could only imagine what it might have to fight next still sore from losing to the wild Pidgey a short while ago. Yakul got even more determined when she felt how the stringshot slowed her even more. She was pleased when she managed to pull through and left the weedle in the dust. It was good to know, she could protect the old woman against such great dangers as these worms who could inflict such great pains.
"Oh! Will he be alright?" Astrid asked worried when Yakul knocked the weedle out. She was impressed with how mature Don handle it all, he wasn't upset that he had lost and he had solid plans on how he was going to train his pokemon and work in their weaknesess. Astrid was sure he could get far if he wanted, when he got a little bit older. She expected that he was too young to really start on a pokemon journey and that he had to keep his training close to home. "I think you have some good tactics Don, I had not though about asking for other types of moves. I will need to look into it," Astrid praised the boy, as she really hoped his interest for working with pokemon would continue into his adult years. There were so many children who just used the pokemon to play with, which Astrid knew from her own children and grandchildren, and then lost their interest later on, leaving plenty pokemon to be unwanted and ignored.
Yakul had almost made her way back to Astrid when Don called out the next bug pokemon, and the skiddo snorted surprised. She turned around and threatened the caterpie with her small horns, ready to attack it. Astrid grasped her horns. "Calm down Yakul," Astrid said and the skiddo relaxed a bit, though she still had her eyes fixed at the new danger. "I think you need a break Yakul, you can barely walk!" Astrid said and the skiddo shook her horns free of Astrid's hands, and attempted to gently push her away from the danger. She shouldn't be recalled now! Who should protect Astrid then?
Astrid glanced back at Rattata, who was still watching the battle from where he was sitting. He sighed heavily and got to his feet and slowly walked over to take on the battle against the caterpie. "You want to help us out with the battle?" Astrid asked and Rattata humpfed annoyed and Astrid frowned worried. "I am not sure what is wrong here, but he seems unhappy being with me, but he refused to get released when I offered it," Astrid explained to Don. She didn't expect him to have any answers, but perhaps he had some ideas so she could figure out what to do with him in time. Rattata ignored Astried and instead studied his opponent and concluded that raw power would be best if he wanted to finish this quickly. He bolted forward and focused on hitting the caterpie as hard as he could with a tackle, instead of moving as fast as he possibly could.

vs Bug Catcher Don__________________________________
The young bug catcher gave a large, beaming smile over to Astrid, as she asked about his fainted Pokemon in a worried tone. She was certainly a sweet and caring lady but to Don, losing a battle was yet another way to grow as a trainer and improve the skills of his Pokemon. "Weedle will be just fine! Your Yakul's tackle is a pretty strong attack but after a good rest, my Weedle will be fighting fit and ready to go again! Besides, that battle helped our String Shot loads. Having a moving opponent rather than a target makes training more fun." Pulling a thumbs up to show that there were no hard feelings or anything for Astrid to be guilty or worried about, he then continued on. "Physical attacks are nice but I've been learning about status moves in school! String shot slows the opponent right down and Poison Sting might even poison a Pokemon! Little things like that can really change the way a battle goes!"
Quite passionate about training, Don seemed like the type of boy who would love Pokemon for as long as he was able to. Mature for his age, well spoken and holding a deep love and care for Pokemon, there was no doubt that he wouldn't only be a excellent Pokemon trainer but also a good person in general. With his own Pokemon selected for the next round of battles, Don stood quietly and watched as Astrid tried to calm down her Skiddo, even taking an instinctive step forward as if ready to charge over to help, as she grabbed hold of the goat's horns. She was a bold woman! Luckily, however, she managed to reign Yakul in and instead of attacking the Caterpie, her grumpy looking Rattata stepped forward. Blinking his large eyes, Don parted his lips, noticing that the behaviour of the Rattata was very similar to a friend of his. "Hmm... My friend, Joey, has a Rattata that doesn't really like him... Maybe it is the species?"
Not able to give her a good answer to her worries, he still tried to cheer her up. "Maybe it just needs a few battles, to get used to you a bit more. I bet if you give him orders, eventually, he'll respect you and maybe even evolve!" Though as he finished speaking these words, the Rattata had already begun to act, regardless of Astrid giving an order. Charging forward on his tiny claws, the purple rodent tackled head first into the body of the Caterpie, who squeaked uncomfortably and rolled backward. Wriggling itself back up onto it's feet, Don pondered before giving his own order. "Aim a String Shot, Caterpie! Rattata is a fast target, so do your best!" Nodding it's head, the Caterpie took aim and had to shoot a number of strands of sticky string before even getting close to the Rattata, who dodged most of them effortlessly. Eventually the purple rodent was caught, however, as a string shot wrapped around it's back leg, the sticky thread clinging to it's fur.

Astrid smiled to the confident child and she believed his words, that his weedle would be fine. He clearly knew his pokemon and how to battle, and then Yakul couldn't have done much damage to it since she was so young. "It sounds like a good way to train, to start with one aspect at the time," she said smiling, "and a thing I would have a chance to do too!"
She frowned when he said that he thought all rattatas were grumpy and didn't like their trainers. "Are you sure about that?" Astrid asked him hesitantly, "I would not say that Mikey's Spaghetti had such personality, that was only in between Spaghetti and Ravioli that there was problems," She said alluding the other youngster, who had seemed like he was Don's friends as well, last time she had seen them. "Of course Spaghetti could just be a one of a kind, though I have rarely heard about whole species of pokemon who are unwilling to work with humans," she said thoughfully, "though there is of course some who needs more work to earn their respect than others, or who are just more aggressive but I do not think rattata here seems like one of those." "Perhaps I have just been unlucky," she said with a shrug.
She looked a bit sheepishly at Don, when he suggested she should start ordering her pokemon around. "I am usually not the ordering type," she almost apologized, "beside, with age you become slower and we would surely lose if my pokemon had to wait for me to analyze the situation and find the best solution for every round. They are much more capable of making the fast decissions and decide what they can do in a current situation, and I am trying to learn as much as possible, so I can guide them and warn them about things they need to take into account in the current battle," she explained quietly. She knew she would have no way of keeping up with younger trainers if it all relied on her, but if this way of battling wouldn't work, she didn't thought it would be possible for her at all. "I know now, that I need to keep an eye out for stringshot and Poison sting, as they can give us trouble in the long run," she said amused.
Rattata did his best to ignore the human's words but it was difficult. He glared angrily at Don when he aired the thought that all rattatas were sulky and difficult to handle. He knew he was, but that was because he had just lost his best friend and because he didn't understood why Astrid didn't wanted to treat him equally like the rest of her team. He snorted as he heard their theories on his behavior before he attacked and was hit by the sticky thread. It was annoying, but he felt fine and from a glance at the caterpie, it looked like this battle would be over soon. Just as he had expected to begin with. The human's words stung and it made it more clear to him that Astrid wasn't happy with him. As he couldn't see any other reason he expected it was because of his species. Rattatas weren't exactly rare and the old woman looked like she preferred the more unusual pokemon on her team, if you looked at what she had already got. She probably only had experience with rattatas if some of his fellows had made their way into her house and made a havoc, he had done that too in Cherrygrove if he had been particulary hungry. He could probably try work hard on proving that he was useful and reliable pokemon, but he wasn't sure if he thought it was worth the work. What kind of life could she offer him, if she wasn't really interested in keeping him?
He leaped forward once more ignoring the string shot the best he could and ran as fast as he could to try hit the green worm before it got to do anything else. It would show both the skiddo and the old woman, how you were supposed to battle against pokeon using this type of tactics. Hurt them as much as possible, as fast as possible. That was actually the best tactics against most opponents.
(ooc: Rattata uses Quick Attack. It won't make any difference, but I think that String Shot lowers speed by two, here with the newest gen, if that is what we're following?)

vs Bug Catcher Don__________________________________
As the talk about Astrid's Rattata continued on, Don suddenly clapped his hands as if remembering something from the woman's words. "Ah! Of course!" Looking back, the first time Don had met Astrid was after she had a battle with Mikey, how could he be so silly in forgetting something so important? "You're right... I suppose it isn't the species after all. Mikey and Spaghetti are really close and things have been patched up with Ravioli now too! Though I do think he still favours Spaghetti, no matter how hard he tries to treat them both fairly." Trailing off, the bug catcher looked up to the sky with a look of deep concentration before focusing back on the battle. A wide smile stretching across his face, the boy shrugged his shoulders loosely. "Maybe you and Rattata just need a bit more time together and soon enough, you'll be like Mikey and Spaghetti! ...Joey is a lot more boisterous which is probably why his Rattata doesn't like him." Rolling his eyes somewhat, it seemed that the other boy in their group of friends was much more loud and wild than both Mikey and Don.
"Hehe. Everyone has their own style of battling. But don't give up! Even spending time together will draw a Pokemon closer to you. I think it's amazing that your Pokemon can battle without any orders!" Unaware that their conversation was actually somewhat hurting the Rattata, the irritated purple rodent decided to take matters into his own claws. Astrid had explained that she processed things a bit slower now, due to her age, so her Pokemon had no qualms in attacking of their own accord. If anything, this showed that the woman had some sort of bond or level of trust with her Pokemon already. When from the wild, Pokemon needed to be tamed by humans, so the fact that Rattata was attacking and not loafing around proved that he atleast wanted to pull his weight, even if he did feel excluded from the other team members at times. Almost as if he ignored the string shot tangled around his paws, the Rattata leered up at the unsuspecting Caterpie, who stared ahead blankly and made a sudden dash forward. So fast that his image practically disappeared for a second or two, he then reappeared in front of his opponent, crashing into him with a quick attack and finishing the battle off.
Caterpie: | Level 3 | Health: 0% ( 0/16 HP) Status: Normal Caterpie fainted!
VS
Rattata: | Level 5 | Health: 100% (19/19 HP) Status: -2 Spd Rattata used Quick Attack!
Congratulations!Bug Catcher Don was defeated! He hands over £150! (Updated) Rattata gained 2 levels and grew to Level 7! Rattata learnt Focus Energy! Yakul gained 1 level (due to holding Exp. Share) and grew to Level 8!
"...Huh? Huh?! Caterpie?!" The quick attack mixed with being distracted with talking meant that Don had completely missed the fact that his Pokemon had fainted. He only noticed when he turned to look at his Pokemon to order a move but instead, was faced with the sight of his Caterpie laying on the ground. Laughing nervously, Don readjusted the straw hat which sat upon his head. "I guess you got me! Rattata, even with that String Shot attack, you were still just too fast for us!" Returning the Caterpie back into his own Pokeball, Don began to dig about in his shorts before approaching Astrid. "That was a really fun battle! I learnt a lot, too!" Grinning up at the lady, he handed her some victory money, "Here! It isn't much but if you add a little bit more, you can buy a Pokeball. I bet it'll help!" Resting his bug catching net on his shoulder, he departed his last bit of wisdom onto her. "Pokemon are fun to be around, right? The more time you spend together, the more you'll work out the easiest way to train or what your Pokemon likes and dislikes. Your Rattata is strong, too, so I'm sure you'll see eye to eye." Taking a step away, he raised a hand and waved to Astrid, "I'm going to head on back to Newbark Town and heal my Pokemon! If we see each other again, maybe we could have another battle. Goodbye for now!" Bowing his head respectively before grinning like a child, Don rushed off down the dirt path, leaving Astrid to continue on with her adventure.

"It is hard to chance your ways," Astrid agreed to what she heard about Mikey and his problems with his two pokemon, and she nodded thoughful to Don's suggestion to spend time with Rattata. She smiled warmly when he praised her pokemon for their abilitites, but didn't thought of it as anything special herself, wasn't that what wild pokemon did all the time? Of course she needed to help them with tactics and how to best avoid getting injuried, but the battling itself most of them were used to already, weren't they? She looked at Rattata who leaped forward and slammed into the caterpie with great force. He definitely looked like he knew what he was doing, perhaps she could use that to make him feel more welcome and useful? If that was the problem of course, but she guessed it was something like that, due to how her pokemon had treated him and the way he had been taken away from the life on the streets.
"It was!" Astrid agreed, "oh, you do ot have to give me that. Do you not need it more than me?" Astrid protested and tried to give Don back his money. She knew that is what people usually did, but she felt bad to take money from a child as she surely had much more than he.
"Take care of yourself Don, thanks for all your great advice. I hope we meet again," Astrid called after him as he ran off back towards New Bark. She surely had learned a thing or two herself, and she looked thoughtfully at Rattata who clearly knew how to do things on his own. "Thank you, I learned a lot from you," she said grateful to the rattata, who was cleaning his fur. "Do you want help with that?" She asked and he shook his head, and swiftly removed the last of the strings.
As he had expected the battle had been quick and easy, his opponent hadn't even got a single attack in, not any that really counted at least. He watched the caterpie closely until he was sure it wouldn't get up and backstab him. He had learned his lesson while on the street, and he accepted the boy's praise dignified as he agreed that he deserved that. He didn't do anything to aknowledge it though, as he was still offened that he had thought that all rattatas were troublesome. He listened to Astrid's praise as he cleaned his fur from the stringshot, his heart aching as she really sounded like she liked him, but she had done so much to dig a deep gap between them. He shook his head dismissive when she asked if he needed help. That little thread wouldn't be able to hold him back and he wondered what her opinion was about him now she was looking so thoughtful at him "If you want to, you can be my teacher," Astrid said cheerfully and Rattata looked thoughfully at her, not sure how that should work. He got to his feet at looked expectantly at her, where were they going now? Astrid looked hesitantly at him, not sure if he had agreed or not, or simply ignored her, and slowly continued her walk around on the route, looking for more things that she and her pokemon could learn from.

While Astrid and her Rattata had their own particular problems, all was not well on the New Bark Route. Although Trainers couldn't necessarily tell (as there were always squabbles and mini Pokemon battles of their own on the side, how do you think Pokemon gained levels in the wild?) the route was laden with discontent with the addition of the swarming Pokemon. There were usually some outsiders every season, but this season it was beginning to cause some... troubles. Not like the Audino that were visiting weren't pleasant to be around. Most of them seemed to be quite reserved and nice. However, when they were engaged in Pokemon battles, it was quite evident that it was very difficult to beat the Audino invaders. Even strong Pokemon had a hard time relinquishing their HP. In return, the Audino were becoming quite feared indeed. All that being said, further up the path it seemed as though it were a ghost town. No rustles in the grass, no Pokemon noises, nothing. This part of the first route seemed to be barren of Pokemon. However, an Audino poked it's head from the grass to watch Astrid pass curiously. Audino hadn't been able to interact with anything, Pokemon or trainer, since it arrived. So of course, this new trainer and her small purple Pokemon (Audino recalled fighting one before) piqued Audino's interest. With nothing else to do, Audino walked out into the path and waved over at Astrid. Hopefully the older trainer was nice, because Audino was placing a lot of trust in her by just waltzing out into the path like that. Maybe that purple rat and Audino could have a battle? Audino was ever so lonely, and with every Pokemon on the route fearing the Audino, perhaps this was exactly what the lonely Pokemon needed to pick itself back up. Wild Swarming Audino (Level 6) has crossed your path!

Had someone asked Astrid or her pokemon if they thought it was a peaceful paradise out here on the route, they would all have answered no. They all knew that there were squabbles and competitions everywhere, but none of them thought about it at the moment as there was nothing visible and they just saw the day as nice and relaxing. They had no clue that there was something happening in the forest around them, and Astrid actually got a bit worried they would have to walk far to meet someone she and her pokemon could get som experience from meeting. "I need a break," she huffed and turned the trolley around so she could sit on it. Rattata sat down nearby bored and thought ot himself that the life in towns was much more interesting that this, and he couldn't understand what anyone wanted to do out here. "You are a mystery to me Rattata, you don ot seem to like me, but you do not want to leave me either, and I am not sure what to lead from that," Astrid said kindly and smiled as he turned to look at her. "You do understand me, do you not?" She asked and he nodded dignified, of course he understood her, he had grown up in the town. "I is a shame I do not understand you, as I guess I have done something to hurt or offend you, but I am not sure what it could be," she said sadly, and Rattata watched her intently. "Of course it could also be from the capture or battle itself," she said thoughfully and the two of them looked silently at each other for a moment. "I will not force you to do anything against your will, so you are more than wellcome to travel with me, but you will still be free to leave or join another trainer, if you prefer that at anytime, alright?" She offered and got another small nod as answer. "If you want to stay I hope you will give me a second chance, and I hope you will accept a name? It feels weird not to have anything to call you really," Astrid said slowly as the rattata froze up when she mentioned a name. "I was thinking about Ove, is that alright with you?" She asked and the rattata looked astonished at her, then he gave her another short nod and looked away. Perhaps she wasn't that bad at all, originally it had also only been her pokemon he had had anything against, but now he was pretty torn about her as well. She seemed nice and a part of him wanted to be her friend, to get a name, which she had just done, but the way she had talked about him under the last battle still hurt, so could he trust her? A flash of light caught his attention and Ove found himself face to face with the taillow, who bowed politely to him,and presented himself to the rattata. They didn't get much time to chat as Astrid rose and stated they should get going, and Alfred took to the sky. They didn't get far before a pink pokemon approached them and they all paused to watch it warily. A lot of pokemon were aggressive when they saw humans, or just other pokemon, probably due to bad experience from either rivels or trainers who splitted up families or left beaten pokemon injured and unconscious behind. Alfred in front of the audino and bowed with an elegant movement and a swish of a wing. "Greetings, can I be at your service?" He asked and smiled politely to the pink pokemon. Ove trotted forward, [i ]"Do you need help?" He asked as none of them thought the sweet looking pokemon were hoping for a battle, why would it want that? If the Audino expressed wishes to battle them, the two pokemon would look surprised at it, before Alfred beamed it a smile and would accept the challenge. "If that is how I can be at your service, then make it so," he said with a grin and would exhale to focus his energy and mind for the battle. (ooc, not much to work with I fear, but I'm at least moving forward Please name the rattata Ove, and if battle starts, Alfred is using Focus energy)

"Well finally, a trainer battle! All the wild Pokemon here just run away from us Audino!" The pink Pokemon explained, answering to the Taillow. "Well, I would treasure our trainer battle, so don'e mind me if i go hard, okay?" The Pokemon squeaked and smiled, and began casually walking toward the avian, which was a really strange move, because most Pokemon would be running. Alfred, noticing that this was a bit kind from the Audino, thought something was up. He positioned himself sternly, and stared at the healer Pokemon as he charged up his energy. He meditated for a bit and felt that he was ready to hit the Audino hard and painful! If that's what it wanted! When the Audino got close, it quickly turned around and slap the young bird with its tail. That wasn't painful but Alfred felt like it was hit with a wet towel.

Alfred inclined his head to the audino. "I'm sure I can help you with that, though I cannot promise you any win," he said politely and winked friendly. The audino was fun, it was rare to meet a wild pokemon who weren't afraid or just unwilling to battle trainers. "I wouldn't expect anything else, not when you are the one challenging," Alfred said as he ruffled his feathers, "I will honor your wish for a good battle, by not holding back either." He gathered his thoughts to prepare for the battle and watched the audino closely as it moved forward and he prepared to be hit by its hands, and probably hard since it really wanted to battle. That usually meant they loved to battle and was strong. Big was his surprise when the audino turned around to slap him with its soft tail instead.
"That was a surprising move," Alfred said kindly before he leaped into the air and dived towards the pink pokemon with all his speed. Whether he hit or not, he would land on the ground behind the audino, and probably get attacked by it before he got time to ask its question. "So where have you learned to do that, if I may ask?" He asked and would let it answer, before he continued, "I fear it isn't very effectfull with a tail as soft as yours." Alfred waited until he had seen how the audino reactied to that, before he asked his last question, "How have you come to this area? With a trainer?" Alfred almost expected the audino to have a trainer somewhere, now it was so battle interested, which was unusual for wild pokemon, from his experience at least.
Ove had retreated back to Astrid when Alfred had accepted the battle challenge. Astrid was rather shocked of the situation and Alfred's reactions, since it went from polite bowing to full body attacking! "Alfred! What are you doing?!" Astrid exclaimed but the taillow didn't hear her as he wasn't used to hear his name and her voice wasn't very loud either. "Ove, is it alright?" She asked him worried and had to call his name a second time before he noticed and looked questioningly at her. "Is the pokemon fine with battling Alfred?" Ove nodded af a moment of surprise, "or should I recall him?" Ove shook his head. He was surprised she asked for his advice, was this what she meant by being his pupil. Astrid accepted his answer and sat down on her trolley to wait until the battle was over.
(ooc: Alfred uses Quick Attack.)

Thrilled to find a friendly Pokemon willing to take it up for a battle, the Wild Audino prepared itself for the next round. It couldn't help but chuckle at the question about it's tail. "I'm not entirely sure what it feels like for you, as i've never attacked myself. I guess just using momentum? Perhaps i'll use an arm this time." Audino smiled, waiting for another question from the friendly Taillow. It seemed rather dapper in it's shiny feathers, and although it enjoyed the battle thus far, Audino enjoyed the gentlemanesque quality the bird was exuding. "It is quite a pleasure to battle with you, truly. As mentioned, all of the other Pokemon run away." Although it's tail was soft and fluffy, Audino was still an experienced battler, and wanted to continue it's journey to become stronger. "How did I come here? Oh, we kinda just wandered. We've been walking, looking for a home to permanately stay. But, I fear we've upset the Pokemon here currently. We might end up wandering somewhere else in our search, as the Pokemon don't like us here. We're pretty strong, after all." Proud of it's heritage and species, Audino placed a fist on it's chest, as though to show it's pride outwardly. "But enough talk, I believe we had a battle, yes?" The pink Pokemon was ready to charge forward with a pound (as the tail secret had been given away.) Alfred wasn't about to sit by and take it, however, and instead opened his wings to take to the air. Audino seemed to grin a bit wider, ready for the challenge from the air. Tucking his wings to himself, Alfred dove down with intense speed, slamming his beak into the soft Pokemon. Although it was a powerful attack, Audino barely moved but definitely felt the attack. The Pokemon were very dense, it seemed. "Excellent attack! But, unfortunately for you, you're in my range." Pulling back a little fist, Audino lurched forward with a pound, yet again attacking the dapper bird with a Pound. For a healing Pokemon, it seemed to like physical attacks. Wild Audino - Level |6| Health: 21/30 Current Status: *slapslap* Successful Pound! Astrid's Alfred - Level |9|
