Ray arrived on Route 30 in quite a hurry, due to having just fled from a Poochyena back in the last route. As he stopped to catch his breath, Ray looked around to get a good idea of which way to go from here. He noticed there was still one more spot left to fill in his team and decided first thing to do was to catch himself a Route 30 Pokemon to commemorate this step in his journey. As Ray searched for a good spot to relax before the hunt began, he spotted a frosted rose bush that had blue roses. Ray picked one off to keep as a souvenir and possible flirting tool for later.
"Hey, Skull Kid," he said, calling his Squirtle companion, "Be on the lookout for wild Pokemon while I take a breather."
Skull Kid made a gesture similar to a Military salute and sniffed the ground around Ray like a dog, as if he could actually tell whether a Pokemon was approaching like that.

After making it safely from Route 29 and into the new area of Route 30, Ray allowed himself a well deserved break and picked a nice location to have a moment of rest. The area was shrouded with a light covering of frost but after all the running he had done in order to flee from the snarling Poochyena earlier, it was likely that the cool air felt nice on his skin. With his partner Skull Kid nearby and a beautiful blue rose bush close by, for a few moments, all was quiet and peaceful. It was almost as if the area was completely empty of Pokemon but of course, that wasn't the case. Many Pokemon lurked close by but one in particular was about to make itself known. Hiding within the depths of the very same bush Ray had decided to sit beside, a Pokemon laid in wait, pondering on whether to try to escape or fight the Squirtle which was sniffing around it's territory.
Not a Pokemon usually found in this area, a hoard of it's species had been attracted to Route 30 due to the range of foliage it had. This Pokemon simply loved all kinds of leaves and this one in particular was drawn to roses. Flinching at the motion of the bush moving as Ray delicately plucked a rose away, this action was enough for the hiding Pokemon to make itself known. Cheeks puffing up angrily, a caterpillar like Pokemon wriggled it's way out of the shrubbery, squeaking angrily to grab the humans attention. The Pokemon was a small bug with a rose leaf attached to the back of it's head, as if it were a hood. Eyeing the rose in the trainer's possession, the bug nattered it's fangs irritably. It wanted to battle.
A wild, swarming Sewaddle (Level 6) would like to battle! Please select a Pokemon to use or Flee!

Ray looked down at the source of the chattering catching his attention and saw a Sewaddle attempting to pick s fight. Since he had recently traded on of his catches for a Machop, he called her out first to test her strength.
"Millie," he said, "Come on out and show me what you got."
Skull Kid began to act as a coach to the latest recruit, sounding like the trainer from Rocky to more film cultured Squirtle. However, to Ray and Millie, it just sounded like him saying "Squirtle" in a Brooklyn accent.

Managing to catch the attention of the trainer despite it's small size, the Sewaddle furrowed whatever brow it had up at the boy. Waiting for it's moment to attack due to wanting to defend it's new home, the beautiful blue rose bush, the leaf wearing caterpillar was soon faced with a big and bulky opponent. Millie the Machop had been a recent trade of Ray's and now, he finally had an opponent to test her skills against. Pumping up her muscles, that the Machop species were so well known for, she turned to face the Sewaddle after the little "chat" with the Squirtle. She had no idea what the water type was so adamantly trying to tell her but it was nothing bad. If Skullkid had a bad tone, she could've Low Kicked him or something.
But instead, the little bug was her opponent. Not hearing an order from Ray, Millie figured this would be a good chance to show her precious attacks off. Suddenly jolting forward, straight for the bug, the Sewaddle couldn't help but shiver and out of instinct, reacted before the Machop could get too close. Shooting out a thread of sticky string, the bug had used String Shot and within seconds it had tangled around Millie's limbs, causing her to fall face first. Humiliated, the Machop looked up, her eyes leering with rage which caused the Sewaddle to shiver in fear.

Ray had just realized where the first move went wrong and began to rectify his error.
"It's cool, Millie," he said, encouraging the Machop, "We still got this. Use Low Kick and show that little termite who's boss."
While Skull Kid still squirtled his head off, trying to say something inspiring in his native tounge, Ray kept a hand on his belt with a look of pure determination on his face. He may have let his first Swarm Pokemon off easy, but this little piggy wasn't gonna cry Draug-Draug-Draug-Draug all the way home anytime soon.

Determined to wear down this swarming Pokemon, Ray stayed focused on the ongoing battle. With his hands on his belt and his Squirtle trying to communicate something, Millie got the idea that they will need to give this swarming Sewaddle a fair fight. Smiling happily at the Sewaddle, the Machop was racing forward to land another Low Kick. However, the string shot earlier had tightened the fighting type's movement, making him still slow. The bug type took this opportunity to shoot a single string shot at the Machop's arm, and then flung itself forward to land a hard-hitting tackle. For a squishy looking Pokemon, this bug can hit! Also, the single string shot wasn't enough to slow down Millie, but enough for Sewaddle to do a momentum tackle. Taking opportunity of the close distance, the Machop pulled the Sewaddle forward with the bug still attached, and then kicked it on the ground. Some mud were splattered on the Sewaddle's beautifully leafy clothing, which made the grass type just a little mad. The Sewaddle spat out the string, disconnecting the physical link between those two for now.
Wild Sewaddle- level 6 20/23Status: -1 Defense Used Tackle! Critical Hit!Ray's Millie- Level 6 17/26Status: -2 Speed Used Low Kick OOC: the "Draug-Draug-Draug-Draug" reference is lost on me XD also a tip, fighting type is actually not very effective on most bug types. and lastly, not bad for your post but if you can add a bit more, you could give moderators a little more to work with, thanks!

Ray quickly began to realize that Millie was not going to do much damage on the tough little caterpillar with the type mismatch. Fortunately, he had plenty more Pokemon where Millie came from. However, before Ray could give her the word to switch, Skull Kid started started moon walking on top of the blue rose bush the Sewaddle had come from, knowing this would annoy the bug Pokemon and distract him from the fight. It took Ray awhile to figure out this plan of action, but when he did, he knew what to do.
"Quick, Millie," he whispered into the Machop's ear, "Try and get two Low Kicks on him while he's distracted."
Ray normally only saved Skull Kid's tricks for emergencies, but Wild Pokemon Battles CAN get tiresome at times.

First it's blue rose bush was trimmed and now it had mud splattered across it's precious, self made leaf clothing. This Sewaddle simply wasn't having a good day! Puffing up it's cheeks to show just how infuriated it was, the little bug wriggled uncontrollably on the spot. The bulky Machop was a tough opponent and wasn't giving the Sewaddle an easy fight. Although Millie's own attacks weren't all that strong, she was still managing to defend her corner, with Ray by her side supporting her. Sometimes type disadvantages were a problem but as long as there was perseverance and a bit of side, healing help, even a Fighting type like Millie would be able to defeat a Bug type like Sewaddle. They just had to keep on going! It was just a shame that the tangled string shot around her limbs was slowing her down but it seemed that Skull Kid had wandered off to create a little distraction.
Playing around with the Sewaddle's seemingly precious rose bush, the bug type shrieked, in hopes that it would be able to protect any further flowers from being picked. Once again using it's string shot to fly forward, it was hoping to tackle Skull Kid down but instead found itself being drawn to the body of Millie. Tackling head first into her muscular torso, the Machop flinched but managed to drop a low kick right against the small bug's body. Wincing somewhat, the Sewaddle was much more defensive than it looked and aimed straight for Millie's legs with another tackle. Staggering back, her jaw clenched and she quickly unleashed another round house kick. Perhaps she needed a bit more training, that or this bug was made of tough stuff!

VS
Millie: | Level 6 | Health: 46% (12/26 HP) Status: -2 Spd Millie used Low Kick, twice! Running Shoes were used!

Ray was getting kind of tired of the monotony of this battle. Not only that, but he had other Pokemon to train besides Millie.
"Come to think of it," Ray thought, "I don't necessarily need another bug Pokemon."
Now was the time to spice thing up and Ray knew just the guy to do it.
"OK Millie," he said, "Come on back. Now it's your turn, Pirate."
Skull Kid continued his supportive banter as the Spinda arrived onto the battlefield. Being recently captured, the beige and pink panda was somewhat reluctant to help with the capture of his fellow Pokemon. However, the most he could do at this point was roll his eyes and establish that whatever he did to the insect before him was nothing personal.

[Ray, for future reference you can order an attack the same round you switch. That doesn’t use the Running Shoes. You can also use an item and attack in the same post without Running Shoes too. See here for any more details.]As Pirate stepped onto the turf in front of Sewaddle, the Bug/Grass combo glared unappreciatively at him. Yet another Pokémon had come forth to threaten its precious rosebush. What an unfortunate day to be a Sewaddle indeed. It didn’t really want to continue fighting and risk even more dirt and chaos, but it hardly had a choice now. The rosebush needed a saviour, and Sewaddle was that saviour. It looked down at its mud-covered clothes, face growing redder by the second. And with its ire rising, the Sewaddle opted to make the human and his loyal servants pay dearly for their misdemeanours. Sewaddle squeaked in fury, wriggling towards Pirate slowly but surely. The Spinda watched it curiously, tilting his head in mild confusion. He wasn’t quite sure what to make of this display, in all honesty. Sewaddle forced the Normal type’s opinion fairly promptly, however, by spewing another load of sticky string his way. The silk latched onto Pirate’s legs, wrapping around them quickly and extending to his feet. Pirate tried to walk, only to find that his feet were now starting to stick to the floor below. He sighed and shook his head in disbelief at what was happening, waiting for his first order. Wild Battle

Ray could tell that Pirate was getting annoyed, but that was how the Spinda usually was so it did not discourage him. Pirate, on the other hand, was in a rather sarcastic mood while fighting this random stranger whom he had no quarrel with. Meanwhile, Skull Kid was on the edge of his proverbial seat during this dual to the fainting point.
"Don't worry about your speed there, Pirate," Ray said, encouragingly, "Just Copycat whatever move he tries next."
"Get 'em, Pirate," Skull Kid said in his native tongue of saying his name repeatedly, "That Seawaddle is asking' for a bad time."
Pirate just rolled his eyes and waited for the bug to give him his move to copy.

Having heard his first order Pirate went to go in for a copy cat. Luckily for Pirate the Sewaddle was faster due to the previous String Shot. With this said the Sewaddle decided to go for a tackle with full force. Pirate went back back as he took the damage but he was able to take it. With the Sewaddle close by and it had just attacked him Pirate copied that last move and Tackle the Sewaddle back causing it goes farther then Pirate had gone. The Sewaddle tried to get up but it was hurting a good bit now. It didn't want to give up , not yet. Not when the rosebush still needed protection from this trainer. With determination flowing through them they managed to get up and wanted to finish this Spinda in front of it. Battle

Ray was starting to feel really bad about fighting the poor Sewaddle. Skull kid saw this and came up to Ray, encouraging him with a nod of his head and a pat on the back of his leg. Therefore, with a tear of sympathy in his eye, he pulled out another one of his teammates.
"Pirate," he said out loud, "come back. Let's end this, Sans. Use Seismic Toss."
"Sorry little guy," he thought to himself, "My team ain't big enough for the two of ya."
Skull Kid stayed by Ray's side the whole time, making the final blow a little less hard to swallow.

Starting to feel a little bad after seeing just how weak the Sewaddle had become, Ray became filled with guilt and decided to finish the battle off. If he had said anything out loud, the wild bug would've taken offence. The Sewaddle was merely protecting the place it had dubbed home and so far, despite all the Pokemon it had been up against, it felt as if it were doing a good job. Holding it's own, the bug was strong, that was for sure. If it could find a spot on Ray's team was a different story but either way, the Sewaddle wasn't going to stop fighting. It was going to keep on going, right up until the very last moment. Eyes thinning as Sans, a Volbeat, emerged onto the field, the Sewaddle reared and let out a squeak.
Despite it's injuries, the tiny bug scuttled across the grass, practically throwing itself into the body of Sans in order to land a worthy tackle. Whilst it didn't harm the Volbeat much, it did give him an easier victory. Not having to move far in order to grab the bug, Sans took hold of the wild creature and unleashed his Seismic Toss, leaping into the air and performing a backward spin before thrusting the bug back down into the earth below. Eyes blurred, the Sewaddle took one last look at the beautiful blue rose bush before fainting on the spot. It had tried it's best.

Ray really did want to capture the knocked out Sewaddle before him, but the little fella had been through enough. He picked up the adversarial insect and carefully placed him under the blue rose bush, safe from any other trainers that might come by.
"Alright, Skull Kid," Ray said, regaining his determination, "Let's get back to finding our last party member."
Skull Kid nodded his head excitedly before continuing to imitate a hunting dog in search of new Pokemon to catch.
