Returning to the route which led toward Mahogany Town, Joey's diversion had ended in success, after he managed to put a hole in Team Rocket's underwater plan. He had likely saved a lot of of deep sea dwelling creatures from being kidnapped and dragged into their evil clutches or maybe, Ernesto had a far worse plan, which hadn't been able to see the light. Now that the rumour had been turned to fact, then obliterated into nothing with the help of his Pokemon, Joey was free once again to continue on. Not quite at the next town yet, he continued to push on, with the sight of the huge Mt Mortar looming close by. One day it would be interesting to go on a proper exploration on the inside but there wasn't any time for that, currently. Instead, he soon found himself passing by the last section of Route 42 he had been in, where the damaged bridge had trapped a poor Flaffy. No where to be seen, the pink sheep had likely been able to flee safely, thanks to the help of Joey.
Instead, he leapt over the damaged bridge, his boots landing himself in another patch of tall grass on the other side. Crunching down with his boots, the area itself was rather quiet but it was likely the tall male that was able to see his next potential target rather than the wild Pokemon itself. Seemingly drinking from a stream up ahead was a Pokemon not that often spotted in the region. A young deer, the colour of it's pelt was said to change colour to match with the current season and they were native to the region of Unova. But here it was, in front of his very eyes; a Deerling. Lifting it's head from the stream it was drinking from, the Pokemon looked around innocently, it's back turned to Joe thus completely unaware of his presence. Would Joey interrupt the Pokemon's peace by battling and attempting to capture the rare sight, or take a different route toward Mahogany so not to disturb it? Either way, it was up to Joey on how he would handle this one.

As he took stock of his surroundings, Joey wasn't quite able to get a full appreciation of the immediate area as something immediately caught his eye up along the river stream. A small, deer like creature was neatly lapping up the pristine water that flowed along. Making as little movement as possible, he placed a hand on his stubbly chin as he tried to recall where he had seen such a Pokemon. "Y'know, that sure is familiar... Waittasec. Wasn't there one at that Unova Festival all the way back?" Removing the hand from his chin and whipping his hand into a click as if confirming his memory, it all came back to him. "That's it. I think that was the grand prize for the lottery... Well damn. Guess they must've let it go and it's started to populate the route. Heh, this is an opportunity not to be missed." With how cute it was, he knew he'd be able to gift it to a certain someone as a little reminder he was still thinking of her.
The only problem was, this Deerling looked timid to say the least. Last thing he wanted to do was approach it and scare it off. Especially something as rare as this. Deciding on a strategy, he summoned Metyrant. "Alright, here's the plan. Seeing as you can hover without making a noise or snappin' on any twigs, I want you to move in from the side and i'll stealth my way in opposite so we have it pincered." Understanding the order, Metyrant wasted no time in moving over. As he did, Joey got into position. Having primed a quick ball, he was ready to throw at a moment's notice. Carefully getting closer and closer, he kept assessing the ground beneath him to avoid any noise disturbances. In position, he looked over to his Metang and nodded. Lobbing the Quick Ball, he hoped the capture would work. His luck may not quite have landed him the big draw but it seemed he would be lucky enough to bump into one in the wild all the way down the line. For him, that was luck enough. "Careful Metyrant! Make sure it doesn't try to flee away!" Fully in position, the Metang raised its arms to form a barrier to deter running away.

Aware of the rarity of Deerling, Joey made an executive decision to go ahead and attempt a capture. If he didn't want to keep it for himself, there were countless trainers who would end up being potential buyers to snap up such a cute little Pokemon such as this. As long as he didn't startle it to the point of it fleeing, then he could do just fine. Deciding to approach the Deerling in a pincer formation, Joey needed one another figure to help him and with a flick of a Pokeball, he chose Metyrant to partner up with him in this plan. Being able to levitate and move silently through the air made the Metang a suitable choice and together, Joey set his plan into action. The Deerling had returned to drinking from the crystal clear water, blissfully unaware of the trouble approaching. Edging closer and closer, it wasn't until the very last minute that the Deerling was able to react. Despite his size, Joey was able to move around in a stealthy manner and Metyrant, well, he was floating.
Ears twitching just as Joey loudly declared he was about to throw a ball, the Deerling reared it's head, instantly spotting the human. Skipping nervously on the spot, it turned to run but was faced with the sight of Metyrant. Bleating in surprise, it then felt something tap against it's back. Everything had moved so quickly that the Deerling wasn't even able to defend itself. Being drawn into the Quick Ball, the unique and useful capturing device clenched shut before wobbling from side to side. In a matter of mere seconds, the fate of the Deerling was locked inside. He had captured it without a hitch.

Observing the next few moments, Joey remained still as he allowed the quick ball to soar through the air. Thankfully Metyrant had heeded his warning and with it ready to block off any exit, it meant they had successfully improved their chances. Ensnaring it within the blue and yellow capture device, it wasted no time in scooping it inside and falling to the ground. "Heh, these ain't called Quick Balls for nothing." Watching it as it rocked back and forth, it seemed the surprise capture had been a success. Resounding with a click and flashing at the centre of the device, Joey cocked a grin. "Not bad at all. Love it when a plan comes together like that." Moving on over to pick up the ball, he pocketed it away. "To think there are Deerling roamin' out and about these parts. That's probably as lucky as i'll get for now though." Cracking his knuckles, he limbered down from the tension and looked over to Metyrant.
"I'm glad I can depend on you though Mety. How about it?" Raising his arm up in a diagonal slant, he was hoping for a bit of camaraderie from his Pokemon who would bump his own arms back at him. When he was left hanging and noticed the Metang didn't seem to know how to respond as it adjusted its hovering to look from Joey to his arm and then stare blankly, the biker realised he was going to have to have a lesson in downtime with it. "Jeez, I get Steven raised ya to a champ's discipline but didn't he touch you the first thing about broing it up after the job's done?" Raising an eyebrow, Joey laughed it off. "Eh, nevermind. Here, i'll show ya. I'm raising my arm right. You do the same." Watching as the Metang raised one of his arms, Joey nodded. "That's it. Now, we bump them together." Moving forward, Metyrant cautiously did the same. Their arms bumping across each other, Joey let out a bit of celebration. "Haha! Now you got it! See? Not so bad huh. Every time we take care of somethin', this'll be our victory celebration." Lowering his arms, he turned around and looked ahead of the route. "C'mon, what's say we do some sparrin' along the route?" Not responding, Metyrant wasn't exactly an emotive creature, it simply lived to rise to the challenge. At least he had managed to show a bit of solidarity though.
"Hey, I got a bet for ya. If you can win against whatever pops out next we'll practice on that bonding some more. If you do a Zen Headbutt combo and I reckon you can nail it." Not really all that caring off tightening their bonds but instead focusing on the challenge being thrown forward, Metyrant adjusted itself up and down as it hovered mid air in order to nod. Raising its hefty arms, the Pokemon went into an intercepting mode ready to strike at whatever came their way.

A wild Gloom (Level 34) appeared! Sharing a bit of an awkward moment of bonding with Metyrant, Joey tried to celebrate their victory but the emotionless creature cared very little. Determined to create some sort of emotional link between the two of them, Joey tried to cook up a bit of a motive but for Metyrant, all it wanted was to battle and become stronger. Being under the wing of a Champion, as a Beldum, it had witnessed the powerful man overcome many challenges and whilst being with Joey had it's own fair share of moments, it still didn't feel strong enough. Preparing itself to attack the first thing it saw on sight, Metyrant hovered on ahead, arms ready to strike anything that moved. Only, whilst there wasn't a clear or sudden movement, as the duo strolled down the path there was a definite smell lingering in the air and for once, it wasn't the biker himself.
Lurking in the undergrowth was a lone grass type and upon seeing the Deerling being captured, became more and more terrified as Joey and his partner approached. Trying it's best to conceal itself as a natural plant, the hidden Pokemon couldn't help but let loose it's infamous odour, which was often enough to scare most opponents away. But it was as if Joey was simply ignoring it. How could he not react to such a vile scent?! Shuddering on the spot, Metyrant was finally able to acknowledge the cause and began powering himself up. Wrapping itself with a cloak of psychic power, the Metang charged into a seemingly innocent wave of flowers and plants but he did indeed collide with something. Forcing the hiding Pokemon out into the open, the Pokemon Metyrant attacked was a Gloom!
A miserable look plastered on it's face, the weakened grass type focused on the Metang, managing to use a Megan Drain. From where it stood, the Gloom was able to drain some of the energy away from Metyrant and absorbed it back into itself but the little slither of health meant nothing. Rearing back once again, Metyrant mercilessly attacked with a second Zen Headbutt, knocking the Gloom once again before it rolled to once side, completely and utterly fainted.

Exploring further as the challenge had been set, Joey began to pick up on a rather pungent smell. Sniffing his nostrils as he looked around, he gave warning to Metyrant. "Yo, watch out. Somethin' smells... Where have I smelt this before...? Oh right, the lighthouse and that Rocket. Don't think i'll ever forget a whiff like this." His sense of smell somehow highly tolerant of noxious fumes, no doubt from all the time he spent growing up alongside a Koffing, it meant it didn't bother him in the least. Perhaps instigating some insult to the source of the stench, it riled up the Gloom and put itself into Metyrant's line of sight. "Dammit, of course! It was that Gloom!" Not realising there was one very much in their proximity, he was jumped slightly by Metyrant's powering up and swift movement. "WOAH!" He yelled out as the Metang closed in on the camouflaged target. Moving at such a fast speed, Joey could only pick up on a blue blur speeding towards the bed of flowers off centre from them. "He's fast!" He observed. Slamming in with the full brunt of the psychic empowered headbutt, Joey too at that point saw the Gloom as it was pulled out of hiding.
"Great stuff, nothin' gets by you, eh? Haha, let's see if you can pull off a victory." Knowing full well he would, he wanted to tease the Metang some. Sadly, whilst the surprise attack had been successful, the Gloom was a particularly strong one and was able to withstand the blow. Retaliating with full use of its grass energised power, the Pokemon siphoned off health from Joey's Pokemon. But that wouldn't be enough. "C'mon Metyrant, you've got this!" Returning with a follow up blow, the Metang zoomed forward, it's arms tucked by its side and head directed to the fore. Powered up with its innate psychic power, it was clear this attack was going to conclude the scuffle. Sending the Gloom flying off back into the bed of flowers, Joey nodded his head as he appreciated the Metang's efforts. "Efficient as always. But... Gotcha!" Raising his arm up to bump forward, he was amazed to see Metyrant actually responded on its own volition. Raising an arm and pressing forward with it, both their arms bumped off. Chuffed with the progress, Joey grinned raucously. "Hahahaha, you got it! That was spot on. Guess it's to be expected of a champ's Pokemon to be such a fast learner. C'mon, let's see if we can't bump into some more sparring on our way to Mahogany." Moving on, Joey looked over his shoulder and thanked the Gloom. "Cheers for the fight!"
Turning back his focus to Metyrant, Joey cooked up another strategy for them to test out. "Alright, how's this. You give that Bullet Punch some practice. Unleash a two hit combo on whatever pops out. Sound good?" Whirring as if in acknowledgement, the Metang resumed a vigilant watch out for nearby encounters.

A wild Buneary (Level 27) appeared! Thanking the Gloom for it's fighting spirit, the plant merely released a puff of vile fumes in response but luckily for Joey, he was just leaving. Bumping with Metyrant to teach this emotionless Pokemon the power of true friendship, the duo continued their exploration of the local route. By now they were in quite deep and that meant that Mahogany Town was becoming closer. Unless Joey would get interrupted with another Rocket update, he would surely make it to the town by nightfall. Still, it was certainly a scenic route. Whilst a majority of it was taken up by the rocky cliff face of Mr Mortar, the rest was patches of grass with the occasional area of water. The way it was so well preserved, sheltered and quiet, it certainly fit the bill in leading up to the town which was said to be the home of the ninja at one point.
Taking the lead, Metyrant once again hovered a few paces in front of Joey, in order to catch a glimpse of their next potential opponent first. Highly focused and arms of steel ready to dish out some raw pain, the Metang's crimson eyes were immediately drawn to even the smallest movements. Catching sight of a rustling bush, the Pokemon hiding within cursed to itself for moving so suddenly. Somewhat shy, the wild creature rolled it's ears up tightly before peering out from the leaves, almost having a heart attack when it was face to face with a close up of Metyrant! Squeaking, the wild Pokemon leapt out of it's skin, giving Joey a chance to see that the next opponent was a Buneary. Retracting his arm, Metyrant forced forward a single punch, which moved so fast that it was almost like a shot bullet. Colliding with the body of the Buneary, the soft creature spun up into the air, falling downward and landing smack on it's face in the middle of the route.
Creasing up it's face in pain, the small creature struggled back up onto it's paws, tripping forward slightly before looking back at the Metang with baited breath. The attack had hurt but the Buneary still had fight left in it. Leaping up into the air suddenly, the Buneary stretched out a little foot as it came soaring back down, landing a Jump Kick right on the head of Metyrant before somersaulting off of it and landing back in the grass. The attack was nothing more than a bump, however and with a particularly horrified expression, the Buneary braced itself as yet another Bullet Punch came it's way. Dragging across the ground upon impact, this time the rabbit didn't stand back up. It seemed like Metyrant grabbed himself another victory.

This time picking up on the rustles himself, Joey focused on what was hiding in there just as Metyrant rolled out into action. "Guessin' you've seen it." Cocking a cheeky smirk, he stood back and allowed his Metang to do its thing. With their battle plan already concocted as they travelled along the route itself, it meant there was little need to say much more. As all attention was focused onto the suspect patch of grass, it eventually hopped out in surprise, alerting Joe to what it was. Having come across its kind before, he ran a hand over his stubble filled chin. "Buneary eh? This route certainly has a variety of 'Mons." By the time he finished, Metyrant had closed in on the wild rabbit and was ready to exact out the plan. Taking a swift aim, the Pokemon jabbed forward its heavy arm with a punching motion. The sheer speed of the attack was like a bullet firing off. "No wonder it's called Bullet Punch." Mused Joey as he had trouble tracing the movement of the attack. All that could really be appreciated was the sheer force of the attack sending the Buneary flying.
Watching it go tumbling backwards before landing unceremoniously on its face, Joey winced with an eye closed as that certainly looked painful. "Oh... Damn. Guess you're not holdin' back? Take it easy alright? There's no harm in pulling your punches when we're facing friendlies." Last thing he wanted was outstaying his welcome on the route and the entirety of its inhabitants chasing him down demanding comeuppance. Thinking that was it, Joey was surprised to see the Buneary still had fight left in it. "Wow, maybe you did pull your punch? I'm impressed Mety." Receiving no acknowledgement back from the Metant, it was clear the Pokemon was more preoccupied with the battle itself. Knowing full well the Pokemon would retaliate, Metyrant braced itself. Taking the kick dead on, it seemed like the robotic creature was able to hold in there and delivered a swift counter, thus ending the battle. "Wooh! Yet another victory Metyrant!" Having closed in on the Pokemon, Joey met his Metang with a raised arm and was pleased to see Metyrant responded with no hesitation a victory arm bump. "Haha, you've got it completely."
Looking over to the fainted Buneary, Joey pulled an uneasy expression. "I feel kinda bad... Huh, I know!" Noticing a berry tree nearby, he picked off some of its produce and laid it down to the Pokemon. "Here you go bud. Thanks for the practice. No hard feelin's, alright?" Hoping that would be sufficient, he moved on with Metyrant in tow, shoving his hands into his pockets and swaggering on. "I think we've given you some good training. Keep on guard though, we won't go out of our way to battle but you never know what might jump out. If anything does, give it a single Zen Headbutt. That'll do as a warnin'." Whirring with a response, Metyrant keep a watchful eye out.

A wild Buneary (Level 30) appeared! Starting to get a hang of this bonding business, Metyrant had started to react naturally, without Joey needing to spell it out for the Metang. This was atleast a good start! Though maybe he also needed to hold back a little when facing these innocent, wild Pokemon. After the final blow, the young Buneary found itself completely knocked out, it's nose only twitching once Joey had thoughtfully found and plucked a berry, before offering it to the slumbering Pokemon. For a moment it feigned sleeping before frantically opening it's eyes, snatching the berry and shovelling it greedily into it's own mouth. Licking it's lips, the bunny pulled itself back up onto it's own feet, watching as Joey and his Pokemon began to move off. Waving to show that there wasn't any animosity or hard feelings, the Buneary then took it upon itself to make an exit, hopping off into the nearby bushes.
But that wasn't the last they had seen of the Buneary species. Having watched the battle from nearby, yet another Buneary lurked, clicking it's teeth in irritation as it saw the human walk off. How dare he be so brutal with one of it's own kind! Hopping along after them, the wild rabbit managed to cloak itself pretty well, stalking it's opponent without a hint of noise. Completely unaware of the fact that its target was a thief, it was likely that Joey knew that he was being followed by feigned ignorance of his own. Once the lurking Buneary felt that it had become close enough, without so much as a moment of hesitation, it sprang to attack. Unleashing it's Frustration out on Metyrant, the sneaky Buneary attacked from below it's hovering body, pounding away with it's large ears. But to Metyrant, the steel bodied Pokemon barely felt a thing. Turning to find out the cause of this poking, the Pokemon went into attack mode. Using Zen Headbutt of it's opponent, the Metang crashed into the Buneary with all it's might but this time, it wasn't enough to end the battle with just a single blow.

Their journey starting to make some progress, Joey looked down the route as it seemed they had reached a hill of sorts. Overlooking the rest of the route and onto the town of Mahogany itself, Joey let out a sigh of relief. "Definitely will get there before sun down. Only thing i'm hopin' is we don't get mixed up in Mt. Mortar. That's gettin' pretty close." Hoping they could avoid it entirely by moving alongside it, he was about to say something else when he noticed a brown creature nearing Metyrant. "Woah, watch out!" Watching as the creature began to pound away with its ears in frustration, Joey was quick to realise it was another Buneary. It was definitely not the one they had faced before. No doubt it had bore witness to the confrontation and was ticked off as a result. "Hey, hey, hey! Cool it! We were havin' a little trainin' back there! No hard feelin's!" Watching as the frustrated poundings took their toll, Joey made a nonchalant shrug as he caught Metyrant's eye. Sadly, the voice of reason wasn't doing its job so he knew it'd be up to Metyrant to fend it off.
Rearing around to face the Pokemon, it powered up its psychic ability, focusing its mind into a zen like state before slamming its head forward in a butting motion. Knocking the Pokemon clean in the face, it was a savage blow to say the least. One to which Joey winced over. "Ooooh... That's gotta hurt." Watching as the Buneary was knocked back, he felt a little bad. Last time around they were able to grab some berries and send the opponent on their way but a blow like that would likely need some proper treatment. Instinctively reaching into his pocket, he pulled out a shrunken ball. Aware Metyrant was still in an attacking mode, Joey stepped forward, raising a hand to get him to hold off. "Easy Mety. Let me handle this. We'll capture it and get it some treatment." His thumb tapping the centre of the Greatball he had taken out, it enlarged in his palm. "Alright, here goes!" Lining up his shot, he threw it forward and sent it forward in a curve to capture. Hovering to the side, Metyrant watched as the capture device was put into play. The mechanical creature didn't have to say anything but Joey could pick up on his disappointment. Reassuring him, Joey spoke out. "Don't worry. Sometimes the best way is capturing. It's a victory all the same."

As the Zen Headbutt came into contact with the Buneary, the rabbit was forcefully sent flying backwards, landing against the ground with a heavy thump. Feeling pain ooze across every part of it's body, the Buneary winced. It had never experienced such a blow in all it's time along this route. The human might've said these battles intended no hard feelings but it felt otherwise. Wearily pulling itself up, the Buneary looked worse for wear and whilst it still had the energy to go on, it was a bad idea to push itself to the limits like it was. Buneary were known for having powerful ears but as it had earlier struck out against the Metang, it found out the hard way that it's attacks were dealing very little damage to the steel bodied creature. Grinding it's jaw, the Buneary desperately tried to think up a way to defeat the pair, mainly to regain some of its lost pride. But Joey had a different plan.
In order to help the Buneary get its wounds all healed up, there was no other way to get close enough to it other than capturing it. It was unlikely this feisty bunny would accept any berries offered to it, judging from its attitude thus far. So, he pulled out a Greatball from his stash and made a well aimed throw of his arm. Soaring through the air, the ball tapped against the body of the Buneary, dragging it inside. Tossing and turning, the wild Pokemon tried to break free but in the end, it was unable to do so.

Letting the Greatball do its thing, Joey turned to Metyrant and nodded. "See what I mean? If we pull our punches in matches like these, hopefully we won't have the whole neighbour chasing us out of town." Pausing for a moment, he tacked on a little bit to what he was saying. "Unless they're in a black jumpsuit and got a big, fat, red R across their chest, that's the only time you go full throttle, hahaha!" Not quite understanding his humour, the Metyrant whirred around its databanks and seemed to record this information down. Those matching the description would be eliminated without prejudice. Cross referencing its stored memories, there were certainly no Pokemon that fit this bill. However if data was recovered from stored archives, there was a time that Metyrant and Joey fought off an exact match. Utilising this encounter as a basis in conjunction with Joey's description, it meant Metyrant was now primed to unleash all hell on any Team Rocket affiliates that may come their way.
"...Y'alright? You went awfully quiet." Puzzled Joey. Before he could delve any further into what the Metang was doing, he turned around and saw the Greatball had finished its job. "Awesome! Now let's pocket this and be on our way. Now we've got a casualty riding with us, I kinda wouldn't mind headin' to Mahogany that lil' bit quicker. Sure they got a Pokemon centre like everyon--Huh?" Before he could resume their travelling, he realised Metyrant had been the one this time to initiate the arm bump. "Hah! I'll be damned, never thought i'd forgot about this and YOU be the one to remind me. C'mere buddy." Crossing his arm out in front of him, he knocked it forward to meet with Metyrant's. It really seemed like his lesson in friendship had come across. "Sorry mate, my mind was elsewhere. But at least you've got to grips with it right?" Nodding its head, there was definitely a shift in Metyrant's outlook. "C'mon, we best get moving. If anythin' obstructs us from proceedin' on, unleash a Zen Headbutt to make 'em back off. I get the feeling this route's still got some characters on it."
Nodding, the duo continued their trek. They had traversed the majority of route 42. Mt.Mortar was literally coming up and Mahogany was in sight.

Pleased with itself, Metyrant had a better grasp on the fist bump and friendship with the ragged trainer it followed. The order had been to Zen Headbutt anything that came across them, hence impeding their trip towards Mahogany. With the town practically in sight, nothing would stop the momentum and stride. Metyrant had become quite the force to be reckoned with, a literal juggernaut and tank of sorts. With the powerful arsenal Joey had on his belt, he'd have little to no issues continuing at the pace he was at. However, a rustle in the grass was the warning sign that Metyrant needed. A Pokemon was near, and it was Metyrant's job to keep the intruders at bay. Wild Gloom has approached! (Level 31) Poor thingGloom stumbled upon the path, curious if any wandering trainers had brought any confectionery delicacies on their way to Mahogany. Many trainers snacked as they walked, leaving bits of food here and there from their messy eating. While it was possible Joey was a messy eater, he hadn't been nibbling on anything recently, leaving the Gloom empty handed AND in a particularly unfortunate spot. Before it could take a step back into the grasses, Metyrant was staring it down, preparing it's own attack. Gloom seemed to release a spore around it, probably out of fear at this point, but it wasn't effective as Metyrant zoomed towards the intruder with psychic energies blaring. Gloom was knocked out in one hit and sent flying back into the brush from whence it came. Metyrant had been victorious, and had hardly broken a sweat, if it were even possible. Congratuations! Wild Gloom was defeated.
Metyrant has gained +2,325 experience and +1 Happiness! Metyrant is now Level 38. Metyrant is trying to learn Psychic. Delete a move to make room for Psychic?

Picking up on Metyrant's subtle focusing off in the distance, a sudden rustle of the grass soon followed, causing Joey to stop and take in the sights of their new found opponent. "Another Gloom? Guess they must be runnin' riot along here. Funny though, it doesn't smell as bad as you'd think. That or maybe my sniffers gone kaput." Debating on whether he still had a sense of smell, Metyrant decided to take out the trash. Once again focusing its mind to the point of a zen like state, it meant that as it went flying forwards and exact out its headbutt that the impact would be maximised as the Metang had no such fear of any hurt being inflicted on itself. The impact of the blow sending the Gloom flying back from whence it came, Metyrant quickly sped up to catch up with Joey who had resumed his pacing upon knowing his Metang had the Gloom taken care of. "...Nah, I can smell still." Raising out an arm to the side, Metyrant was quick to react to it and the two made their little victory gesture.
"Guessin' you can't smell, can you Mety?" Getting so lost in whether or not he could smell, he began asking the same of those around him. It was little bit of a silly question given that Metyrant was robotic in nature. A machine. Unless it had some inbuilt sensors to somehow distinguish odour changes, it was unlikely. "Huh, guess not." Concluded Joey as Metyrant shook its head in response. "Look out, we're starting to venture past Mt. Mortar. You can tell with how much rubble and crap is breaking up the nice green path we were on." Carefully moving his feet around the various rocks and rubble, it seemed almost tempting to venture into the caves but given how his priorities lay with getting to Mahogany and healing up at the Pokemon Centre, it'd have to be an adventure for another day. "Looks like we got quite a stretch of this before we're home dry and in Mahogany. Hah, guess this don't bother you, considering you can float like that." Simply navigating his way alongside Joey, the Metang certainly had it easy. "And don't forget, anythin' that pops out gets the ol' Zen Headbutt treatment. Last thing I want is slippin' up on my rear and landin' on all these stones."
OOC: You guessed it. Route 42 still. And another x1 Zen Headbutt off the bat.

A wild Deerling (Level 27) appeared! Swatting aside another smelly Gloom, both Joey and his Metang continued on their way, horrible aroma free. Well, not that the smell Gloom exerted seemed to both Joey or Metyrant in the slightest. Following the path to the point where the ground had become a bit more rocky, the duo had ventured far but weren't quite ready to brave the mountainous caverns just yet. There were likely all sorts of Pokemon inside and no doubt that they were all strong. But atleast the rough biker had some sense about him. Deciding it would be best to head to a Pokemon Centre first, they kept their eyes ahead for possible encounters, rather than trying to search for a way inside. Maybe one day but it wasn't going to be today. Staggering over the mounds of rugged rock, Joey had to be more careful with his foot placements whilst Metyrant could simply levitate. Some just had it easy!
Keeping his eye on his trainer as well as remaining alert for possible encounters, the body of Metang whirred into action as it spotted movement up ahead. Hurriedly leaving Joey's side, Metyrant searched for the lurking Pokemon, noticing an odd, pink hide flicker past the corner of his eye. Turning, the creature drew in it's psychic energy, becoming completely focused before charging at the hidden Pokemon. A high pitched bleat, something what Joey had likely already encountered, crying out, whatever Metyrant had found was still out of Joey's line of sight. Whatever it had hit, the Metang had hit hard. About to levitate back toward Joey thinking that the job was done, all of a sudden, Metyrant was entangled and weighed down with a cloak of vines. Sapping away at his energy, the Metang faltered, turning to see that the Deerling it had hit was still standing. Recovering from a bit of stolen health, the Deerling had used Leech Seed! Although it's breath was heavy, it seemed that the Deerling wasn't going to let Metyrant get away with hitting it so fiercely.
