Suzanne Petit also known as Suzy was now free to explore this new land she called home. With her new friend Leo by her side there wasn't anything she couldn't do! As the Summer weather set in she realized how long she must have been in New Bark Town prior to adventuring out. The warmer weather could be a blessing or a curse that's for sure. Taking off her jacket she rapped it around waist by the sleeves not wanting to over heat out here. It was partly cloudy with a tempature of 89° not to mention a chance of hail storms later in the day. She shook at the thought of being stuck out in a severe one, but shrugged it off. After all there where buildings not far away and people would always let in a trainer, especially younger ones.
As she continued continued her trek into the long grass she watched her surroundings. The pidgy in the sky over head, the sounds of multiple different Pokemon beyond the tree line, the voices of trainers in the distance. It was almost calming though, being relatively alone with her thoughts. 'I wonder what my parents are doing right now, are they packing up my things for storage like they did with Sam?' Suzy asked herself. The thought of her stuff being packed away and them possibly renting out her room worried her. But it made sense, a little extra money to come from a little extra space.
Suzy after a while started to think being alone with her thoughts was a bad idea, so she pulled out her pokeball. "Come on out Leo!" She called. The pokeball opened and a small blue water type Pokemon came out. The little guy looked up at his new trainer and smiled. Suzy in turn smiled back. "Come on, you and I are gonna get stronger together!" She said, the squirtle giving a joyful sound before following after her. The two walked through the long grass together.

Deep in thought about her family back home, Suzanne made the right choice of throwing out her Squirtle to join her in the open world. As a new trainer, she was bound to experience many type of things. From meeting new people and Pokemon, to creating strong bonds with her team members, fighting in battles against tough Gym Leaders and all whilst making very important decisions along the way. The journey of being a trainer went hand in hand with gaining confidence as a person and learning about the world around her. The thought of leaving home might've been sad and even scary but once on the road, all those thoughts would disappear; with thrills, excitement and wonder of what is up ahead, replacing them. There were so many new things to seek out and as Suzanne made her first steps across Route 29, that became very clear. Amongst the tall trees, bushes and waving grass, the sights and sounds given off by wild Pokemon were more than enough to distract her from the increasing heat and potential home sickness. Together, both Suzanne and Leo stepped off of the path and parted the sections of tall grass in front of them as they headed in the direction of Cherrygrove City.
As they progressed, there was the occasional sound of a Pokemon cry and rustle of grass but no opponent jumping out at them, just yet. In fact, a young Sentret had skipped off in the opposite direction upon spotting Suzanne from afar, scurrying up a tree trunk to try and hide to avoid confrontation. But as it reached a certain point, the unknowing creature knocked into something else, pushing it off of the branch it had been perched on. "Hoooooot!!" Landing amongst the grass with a slight thud near to the young trainer, the slumbering Pokemon opened it's eyes widely and glanced around, wondering just what it was doing on the ground. Having been asleep due to being nocturnal, the rotund bird known as Hoothoot soon locked eyes with the approaching trainer. Somewhat tired and slightly confused, the bird lifted it's wings into the air and cooed loudly. It appeared to be challenging her to a battle but it was still half asleep, thus might regret it's decision later on.
A wild Hoothoot (Level 4) has appeared! Please select a Pokemon and an attack or Flee!

The young trainer continued her walk with her new friend by her side. Leo seemed just as ready to get stronger for his trainer, to fight by her side! There walk was quickly stopped short at the sight of a Sentret a short ways away. Noticing the Sentret from a far Suzy hoped to challenge it and possibly catch it. But as she ran forward the creature ran off. With a small pout the young girl continued her normal pace, looking down to make sure Leo was by her side. The squirle kept pace but was a little behind her, stopping she allowed him to catch up the small distance. But just as she did so she heard a hoot and a thud. A wild Hoothoot had fallen from its tree and was looking straight at her. Though tired it looked like it wanted to battle. That smile graced Suzy's face once more, looking down at Leo she made sure he was ready.
Leo readied himself planting his limbs firmly on the ground his little shades reflecting the sun. "Leo use Tackle!" Suzy called out, and instantly her companion did as he was told. Running forward the Squirtle readied to tackle the Hoothoot, hoping to land his hit.

Its eyelids still heavy from having woken up recently, the Pokemon let out a small yawn from its beak as it did everything it could to muster some enthusiasm up for the battle. Thankfully Suzy's decision to send Leo up front to fight was enough to rouse the usually nocturnal Pokemon's interests. Blinking, its eyes suddenly opened to an enormous size as it seemed to scan the Squirtle from tip to toe. It may not have been obvious but the Pokemon was taking in everything it could about Leo by building up foresight on the creature. Having lifted everything of interest on the tiny turtle Pokemon, its eyelids became heavy once more as it seemed content from having studied its opponent. Whether it was because it had just woken up, it was almost as if the Hoothoot had forgotten that it was in a battle. And battles were mostly won through fighting. Its feathers rustled somewhat as Suzy commanded out an order, it was only when Leo came hurtling towards him with a full force tackle that the Pokemon let out a jumpy hoot upon realisation that for all its foresight it hadn't considered its opponent would actually strike out at it. Landing the blow, the Hoothoot went tumbling backwards from the sheer blow of the tackle. Eventually regarding its composure and coming to a halt, the owl uplifted itself back into place with its short, stubby wings. Now bearing a look on its face that could only be described as that of a smacked bottom, the Pokemon narrowed its eyes. Only this time, its eyes weren't tired but rather discerning in what sort of retaliation it would dish out for that hit it had received. Wild Pokemon Battle

Suzy felt bad when she realized just how sleepy the Hoothoot must have been. Man it didn't even try to dodge that tackle, she wanted to stop there but now the Hoothoot looked mad. Taking a moment she tried to think of what to do next, the Hoothoot was now enraged it would most likely attack in full force to show its fury. She needed to do something before Leo got hurt! Throw a pokeball, that's definitely a possibly but it would waste both a move and a pokeball of the Hoothoot broke free. Tail whip, no that would take down there defense and seeing how much damage was dealt last time that wouldn't help. Tackle, though certainly the best option she didn't want to hurt the Pokemon any more. Suzy took a moment to decide between the three.
Leo landed his attack with a proud triumphant grin on his face. Standing back up on two legs the Squirtle looked towards the Hoothoot ready for his trainers next instruction. Man it felt so good to finally be out of that pokeball, fighting, winning. With his new trainer by his side he felt like he could do anything! Suzy finally came to her decision, looking to her Pokemon she called out. "Leo use tail whip!" The Squirtle did as instructed and used tail whip on his opponent.

Now that Hoothoot was more awake than it was at the start of the battle it could think a bit more clearly. Upon assesing the situation a bit more clearly it noticed it was able to slightly outpace Leo in every movement possible and it knew that it's faster reflexes might be the key to turning this battle around. The only thing it had to consider was that Leo had better defense and attack power than it did so it would not be able to match the turtle hit for hit. It did have a secret move it could use in an emergency however as the young turtle had not taken any damage so far Hoothoot knew it had to cause some damage first before it could risk using the move as it was not the most accurate move. With that in mind Hoothoot began to charge towards Leo. The owl Pokemon collided with Leo before bouncing back in a fancy display of flight and footwork leaving the young Squirtle amazed. It was now his turn to make a move however and after seeing how quick Hoothoot was his trainer's choice of move was not a bad choice at all. He began to wag his tail back and forwards in a cute manner hoping it would trick Hoothoot into letting it's guard down and sure enough as the owl watched his small tail it began to focus so much on it that it was not paying attention to it's surroundings. Hoothoot was not longer able to brace itself as well against physical attacks but the bird still had plently of health left and it had not even had a chance to use it's special move. Though Leo still had the upper hand for now he could not afford any mistakes or else the battle could turn against him really quickly. Pokemon Battle

This should be it, one more hit and she could catch the Hoothoot. The Hoothoot was smart though and knew that he could only fight now, using all his strength the Hoothoot had tackled her little Leo which seemed to do a bit of damage. Ok this should be it, as a light summer breeze past her she called to Leo. "Leo use tackle one more time! Make it count!" Suzy called, a beat of sweat sliding down her head. It was un sure to her whether it was from heat or worry, but she brushed it off. Maybe Leo's next move would be some water type attack that could cool her down. Watching on Suzy hoped her friend would win this for her.
Leo took that hit, stunned by how the owl seemed to move with grace. For some one who had been groggy just a few moments ago they seems more awake now. Leo took a moment to regather himself before listening for his masters next move. Going back on all fours the turtle began to speed forward at the Hoothoot going in for another tackle. "Squirtle!"

After receiving a stern hit from Leo, the Hoothoot certainly had it's eyes wide open and attention on the battle. The usually nocturnal Pokemon wasn't used to fighting in broad daylight, let alone being so rudely awoken. If anything, the more aware of it's surroundings it became, the grumpier it grew. Could an owl not nap in peace? Rustling up it's feathers, the Hoothoot cooed in the direction of Leo, the Squirtle that was so set in dealing damage to the rotund bird. No matter how cute Leo tried to look with a wag of his tail, there was no doubt that the human trained Pokemon was only acting on behalf of the girl behind him. Was it this girl who knocked it down from the tree? If so, what did she want? Hoothoot hadn't seen many people travel in the night, thus didn't have much experienced with humans. All it knew was that it had to defend itself, unsuspecting of the chance that it might be captured and dragged along on a journey.
Raising it's stubby wings, the Hoothoot cooed out once again before hopping with one foot straight for the Squirtle. A coo leaving it's beak with every bounce, the Squirtle's eyes raised and lowered with each movement, only bracing itself when the Hoothoot was right in front of him. Like a cannonball, the avian jumped and rolled straight into the body of Leo, to which the Squirtle took the blow but then held his arms forward to keep the Hoothoot still, in one place. Gritting his little teeth, the Squirtle pushed himself forward, throwing all his weight into one side and tackling the Hoothoot down with the help of his shell. Both Pokemon landing in a heap on the floor, Leo managed to stagger back up onto his feet but the bird had a bit more trouble. With very little energy left, the poor Hoothoot struggled to roll back up onto it's feet. If Suzy wanted to captured it, perhaps now would be her chance!

The tail whip had help in the end, the Hoothoot was weak, she felt bad that she had to hurt the Pokemon to get this resolve but she knew it was the right thing to do. Watching her starter stagger getting up after its powerful blow to the Hoothoot she almost cheered, almost. The creature seemed weak now, she could take them out if she really wanted to. But really fainting it would just be a jerk move at this point Suzy may be many things but a jerk was surely not one of them. "Ok Leo you ready?" She called out to her Pokemon. The Squirtle made a noise which she assumed ment yes.
Pulling her bag off her back she squatted down and quickly grabbed a pokeball. Pressing the button on the front the small palm sized ball was ready to be thrown. "Go pokeball!" Suzy called out as she threw the pokeball at the Hoothoot. Leo got out of the way thankfully.

As Suzy chucked the Pokeball forward, it soared through the air on with a swift curve and found itself dabbing against the owl's body. Absorbing it in a red light, the Pokemon was covered from head to toe as it was digitised and scooped into the centre of the spherical capture device. Falling to the floor with a plonk, the capture was now under way. Rocking back and forth, it was processing the newly acquired Pokemon. Surely after Leo's efforts this would be in the bag? Only time would tell. Once... Twice... Thrice...

Suzy pumped her fist into the air running over she picked up her pokeball and giggled in delight. All the past worry now gone with the notion of a new Pokemon for her team. Leo waddled over to her and she picked him up in a warm hug and said. "Good job Leo! You did it, we did it!" The Squirtle replied with a few unitellegable noises to his trainer. He sounded happy, yet a little pained like he was holding back. Sitting herself down in the grass Suzy looked over her Pokemon. Realizing the damage Suzy pulled out a potion and used it on her Pokemon. It's healing properties used to bring it back to full health after that hearty battle. Leo adjusted his sun glasses and gave her what seemed to be two thumbs up, even though the Pokemon only had 3 digits. The sweltering heat from both the battle and the outdoor weather made the girl bring a hand to her head, wiping the sweat off her brow. "Man Leo do you think you could learn a water type attack to cool me down?" Before she could even giggle silently at her own comment Leo sent a burst of cooling water right into her face. Surprised by this turn of events Suzy looked wide eyed at Leo, he was smiling smugly at her in reply. "Ok, did you like just learn that? Oh man we so need to test that out!" The now cooled off girl said with a smile. Then she remembered her new Pokemon. Looking back down at the pokeball in her hand she pressed on the button with a red light the form of a Hoothoot materialized in front of the girl. It was asleep, possibly tuckered out from the battle, smiling she knew exactly what to give it. Opening her bag once more she looked through it until she found what she was looking for, a night cap with little nocturnal Pokemon patterned on it. Setting it on the pokemons head slightly, the Hoothoot seemed to stir. Then she put them back in their ball to sleep. "Sleep well Lune" Standing up Suzy and Leo went back to walking, maybe they would find even more friends on their adventure.

With Suzy’s first capture completed and a brand new move for Leo to practice, the pair could continue to enjoy the scenery of Route 29 uncontested. Well, that is to say… uncontested for now. Little did they realise that their next encounter was tottering towards them… then away… then towards them once again. A group of small, rather dizzy-looking Pokémon with beige and brown fur wandered around the Route confusedly. It seemed remarkable that these creatures didn’t fall over with the amount of times they teetered on one foot. The Spinda were on the hunt for food, with one’s arms cradling a whole bunch of berries. Each time the group found a berry, they’d simply throw it into the bunch and continue walking on. It appeared that they were stocking up for a feast, probably planning to take it all back to a large clan. The unlucky pack mule eventually collapsed, dropping some of its stash as it hit the ground. Loose berries rolled everywhere, and the Spinda rushed to gather them. Well, “rushed” is perhaps an exaggeration. They attempted to collect the berries as fast as their giddy legs would take them. One of the Spinda, seemingly a young one, eagerly chased after a particularly evasive Oran Berry as it rolled far from the group. Having left the sight of its pursuer, the berry eventually stopped in the middle of a clearing, only to be promptly picked up by a passing Spearow. As Spinda came into the clearing, the disappearing berry seemed to have confused it. Where could the little blue morsel have gone? Spinda found its answer in a duo that just seemed to be coming into view from the opposite direction. Unfortunately, the young Normal type didn’t have much in the way of rational, logical thought and came to the immediate assumption that these two must have got their hands on its precious foodstuff. It charged… well… attempted to charge forward, a tear falling from its eye and gave a loud battle-cry as it squared up to Pixie and Leo, ready to earn revenge for its poor berry. How dare this human take food that didn’t belong to it? A furious, hungry Spinda (Level 5) has declared battle! Please select a Pokémon and attack or flee.

When the topsy-turvy Pokemon stumbled forward, rage etched onto its dizzy face Suzy couldn't help but gush. The Spinda looked so cute as it stumbled forward, even if it was in fact mad. Looking over to Leo she looked for a possibly sign that he was ready, in turn he nodded his head. The Squirtle stepped forward taking a battle stance against the Spinda. As the wind seemed to pick up for dramatic effect Suzy yelled out. "Leo use water gun."
Leo was proud of his actions in the last battle, his hard work not going unnoticed when his trainer expressed her gratitude. That celebration was short lived though when a Spinda decided to crash the party. Leo turned his head in confusion when the creature seemed to get mad at the pair. Questioning the Spinda Leo spoke out. "What's wrong man, you lost." Then all of a sudden it wanted to battle them. Upsetted by the turn of events Leo looked up at his trainer for a sign of what to do. Once he knew he was going to battle he stood up and got into a battle stance. When his trainer told him to use water gun he did so without a second thought.
Suzy was reminded of the Spinda her ballet teacher had, the creature so clumsy seemed to be able to pull off nice moves. Mostly one accident though as it seemed. Still she wanted her own, one that she could call a friend.

[Gentle reminder that you still need to choose an ability for your Hoothoot, Trick.]The Spinda heard Suzy’s declaration of battle and its ears perked up in response. It began to charge forward, only to fall headfirst into the grass in front of it. Picking itself up and dusting off its stomach, the young Spinda seemed to have a tear in its eye. Though, to be honest, it’s hard to tell whether this was from the fall or from the heartbreak of having lost its precious, delicious berry. It cried out as fiercely as it could, with a mixture of pain and determination in its voice, before continuing the ‘charge’ forward to battle. While it teetered and tripped its way closer to Leo, Leo was busy beginning an actual attack. The Tiny Turtle Pokémon took a deep breath before expelling a huge stream of water from his mouth aimed straight at the spotty panda. Spinda tried its best to dodge the blast, but only ended up falling flat on its face once again which left it entirely vulnerable. The Water Gun smacked it hard, sending it back a few feet and essentially undoing all of the progress Spinda had made when trying to reach Leo. Nevertheless, the Spinda was on a mission. A mission to avenge its lunch… and perhaps also to get some new food. Its stomach gave a small rumble as it remembered this mission, but it didn’t lose any focus. In fact, its eyes seemed to fill with even more purpose than before. It slowly but surely made its way towards Leo, desperately trying to stay on track as much as possible to preserve some form of dignity. Unforunately for Spinda, it lost that some time ago. However, it hadn’t yet lost the battle and didn’t seem keen on giving it up. It threw itself at Leo, Tackling him to the ground with a cry of “Spiiindaaaaa!”, which roughly translates to “TAKE THIS, YOU THIEF!”. Not that human would understand, but that’s by the by. Leo managed to pick himself up easily enough, not seeming too bruised at all at that moment. In fact, both Pokémon looked raring to go, with Spinda still quite certain it was going to get its revenge. The Story of the Spinda and the Thief

OOC: I always manage to forget something, I ment to have Keen eye in their
Sarah watched as the Spinda rushed forward, wincing as the Pokemon fell over. When it too the hit from Leo's water gun she almost felt bad. Then again morality in Pokemon is kinda a two sided coin, the Pokemon seem to enjoy it but... Anyway when the Spinda hit Leo with a tackle, Leo was able to get up with ease. The turtle using its superior level and strength took the blow, able to dust it off after. The Squirtle looked at the creature oddly before speaking. "Dude seriously, what the heck? I didn't steal anything from you. We didn't steal anything from you!" their was no lie in that sentence Leo had no idea what the Spinda was talking about, not one bit. Once again Leo looked for his masters guidance. "Leo, again use water gun." Suzy called out hopping to have the Spinda down to a catchable hp level after this.
