Maxwell king » OOC: Time to grind! As the wild weather continued Maxwell spent some time checking out both the scenery and shops of Cherrygrove City, Max had noticed that the small city certainly had a friendly vibe to it. Crimson, Anubis and Hope had been resting inside of their pokeballs for quite some time now, Max felt that they were likely starting to get agitated.
Thankfully it seemed the weather had calmed down, at least for a small amount of time! Max wasn't going to let this opportunity go to waste as he set out to go North of Cherrygrove City and visit Route 30 to let his trio of pokemon enjoy some time outside of their pokeballs.
As Max arrived on Route 30 he noticed a number of trainers battling each other or wild pokemon, it seemed as though they were also taking advantage of the break in the weather. Max ventured onwards along the route as he subconsciously wondered how long it would be before the wild weather returned, all Max could do was make the most of the overcast day.

Striking whilst the iron was hot, or rather, a lapse in the dreadful weather which had come about as a result of numerous summer thunderstorms, Maxwell ventured onto Route 30. He wasn't the only one, numerous battles between youngsters and their Rattata and a number of wild Pokemon enjoying the peace and quiet were to be seen from beginning to end. If he was looking for things to partake in, he wouldn't have too long to wait. Immediately after taking a single step onto the route's path, a rather overbearing youngster came dashing out, a hand raised clutching onto his Pokeball. "HEY YOU! YEAH YOU!" Screaming at the top of his lungs, the kid was doing everything he could to make sure he wasn't unnoticed. Considering how long the hail had been going on for, he wanted to let his Pokemon stretch out their joints and indulge in a battle. "HERE AND NOW! 1V1!" Stopping in front of Maxwell, he grinned a toothy grin, missing a couple at the front. Trainer Encounter
Youngster Ben wants to battle! They send forth... Nothing. Before the battle could be properly initiated, the sudden shift in weather was enough for the youngster to rescind his challenge. Now pelting down with a considerable sized belting of hail, it seemed this child was not the type to fight in such conditions. Avoiding his gaze with Max's, he dashed on past him. "Ah no! Not again...!" He yelled, rueful for mother nature deciding to dish out a bevy of icy hail on the lands. Almost through with his exit, he took a quick diversion through the tall grass. Not paying attention to the path he was taking, he kicked his foot full force into something. Nearly tripping over, he regained his stride and dashed on off out of sight to leave Max with the situation behind. Scurrying out of the tall grass with a bolt, it appeared the youngster had unwittingly struck into a wild Bidoof. Usually docile, this beaver like creature was eager to get its revenge on whoever had hit it. Not quite realising Maxwell wasn't the culprit, the Pokemon mistakenly decided it had been his fault due to the fact no one else was around. Wild Encounter
A Bidoof (Level 5) scared out of its living daylights appears! Please select a Pokemon for battle. Hail will be in effect.

Maxwell king » OOC: It takes two to tango! (Running Shoes Activated) Everything was so serene on Route 30, a picture perfect example of a good day outdoors. Low and behold the peace and quiet would soon be ruined, albeit by an overly keen youngster who had forgot his manners, he honestly sounded like some twelvie playing online call of duty with how he addressed Max for a battle. Max had to resist laughing in the young boy's face as he noticed he was missing quite a few teeth,
"So you want a battle hey gappy? Bring it!"
Just before the young boy could release his chosen combatant onto the makeshift battlefield the weather took a turn for the worst as hail once again begun belting down from above, it was just Maxwell's luck to once again be stuck out in the terrible weather, did mother nature have some type of vendetta against him?
Maxwell watched on as the youngster scurried off through the long grass to find some shelter from the hail, the idea of shelter was indeed a smart one as Max took shelter under a large oak tree nearby, very similar to what he had done back on Route 29.
Max noticed a plump brown mouse emerge from the tall grass that the youngster had just scurried through, the beaver like creature had a genuinely pissed off appearance and was looking for a fight, with the first person it had noticed being Max he knew it was time to tango as he released Crimson the Charmander from his pokeball, the fire type pokemon emerged from the red beam of light and shivered due to the cold weather.
"Sorry to do this to ya Crimson, let's make this quick, blast that buckteeth beast with a combination of Incinerate and Flamethrower!"
Crimson adjusted his goggles from his forehead over his eyes as he smirked towards the brown plump mouse pokemon. Crimson's entire body turned white as an intense heat was let off, the lizard pokemon then proceeded released an orange stream of fire from its mouth that was headed straight towards the disgruntled wild pokemon.

As the ice cold hail began to fall across the route, scaring away the youngster but drawing in the attention of a wild Bidoof instead, Maxwell had atleast found himself a battle. Though Ben wasn't entirely at fault for fleeing. What normal person would want to travel across the wide open wilderness whilst hail was going on? Pokemon trainers, that was who and clearly, he wasn't quite at the committed stage of Pokemon training just yet. Having disturbed the wild beaver during his escape, the Bidoof shuffled out of the grass and pinned the blame for it's sudden influx of anger on the first thing it saw. That being Maxwell. A normally calm species, this particular Bidoof used it's beady eyes to glare at the human as if spitting venom. Feeling a lump form on the back of it's head from where it had been struck, the Bidoof parted it's mouth and cried an almighty battle shriek. It wasn't going to let Maxwell get away with this!
Crimson, who had been tossed into the hail storm in order to protect his trainer, pulled down his goggles in order to shield his eyes from the shards of falling ice. Shrugging it off, the hits were painful against his scales but it was atleast a bit more bearable than rain, his flaming tail would be safe for another day. Acknowledging him as it's opponent, the Bidoof leered it's eyes at Crimson, as the Charmander gave off a smug smirk. The fiery lizard may have looked a bit intimidating compared to other Pokemon the Bidoof had met in the past but it wasn't going to change it's mind. Rearing back, the fluffy brown beaver hurriedly trotted across the grass, tackling the side of it's body against Crimson, who barely felt the blow. Smirking once again, the Charmander felt flames begin to rise from the pit of his stomach and with a parting of his jaw, let out an incredibly large explosion of flames. Combining two attacks into one, it was clear to say that the Bidoof never stood a chance. Completely burnt and singed to a crisp, the beaver coughed up a puff of smoke before collapsing to the ground.

Maxwell king » OOC: Burn Baby Burn! Crimson won't be learning ember thanks! Was Max purposely trying to season his team of pokemon to alternate weather conditions or was it simply a stroke of bad luck to continually get caught outdoors in the middle of freak storms. Although Max felt guilty for making Crimson defend him from the angered wild Bidoof he also felt a bit of envy towards his partner whose body heat alone would keep him warm.
The battle between Crimson and the wild Bidoof was short-lived. After withstanding the beaver pokemons tackle attack Crimson was able to melt his opponent to a crisp by combining his incinerate and flamethrower attack to unleash an explosion flames.
"Holy Jesus, you sure roasted him!"
The smug look that Crimson had previously shown had now disappeared and had been replaced by one of sheer delight. The fire type lizard pokemon threw his fist into the air in celebration of his victory, his new combo was a devastating maneuver that had the potential to inflict major damage on opponents. With a smile on his face, Max stood under the shelter of the nearby oak tree as he motioned for Crimson to come closer to him
"Be a darling Crimson and keep us both warm hey?"
As the hail continued to pelt down from above Max and his fire type partner stood under some temporary shelter using Crimson's body heat to keep them warm in the rotten cold weather. Max wondered if he was the only trainer crazy enough to be outdoors in the horrible weather and making the most of the situation he had been put in.

As both Maxwell and Crimson moved on, in order to find some shelter from the hail, the charcoal-ed Bidoof was left behind to bask in the icy elements. Fainted from the sheer force of Crimson's flames, the beaver soon woke up again from the continuous pelting of the hail. It didn't seem close to ending which was a hassle for all things currently suffering from it. Shuffling up to it's feet, the wild creature managed to scurry off, back into the wild in order to find some shelter of it's own. Maxwell was lucky enough to have the warm body of his Charmander with him, as the two hurried beneath a large tree. For now, staying there seemed to be the safest option, atleast until the hail were to subside. It had certainly thrown a spanner in the works. No trainer would want to travel in weather such as this but some didn't have a choice. For Maxwell, he was likely on the way to Violet City in order to challenge Falkner, so being forced to stop like this was understandably annoying.
Pondering on if he would see any other trainers cross his path in this weather, both Maxwell and Crimson remained closed together but it wasn't long at all before something came into view. At first it wasn't very clear, as through all the hail, it looked like nothing but a bouncing blur. But with every approaching movement, there was an occasional sound of sharp crackling, as if it were releasing flickers of thunder. Bit by bit, the figure came closer until the shape of a Mareep became all too clear. Crackling static fleeting off from it's cotton like body, the sheep look very distressed. Looking as if it were bounding straight for Maxwell himself, it seemed that the Mareep didn't quite know where it was going. Maxwell needed to intervene and make this wild Pokemon more aware of it's surroundings and hopefully calm it down in the process.

Maxwell king » OOC: Mareep is in la-la-land! (Running Shoes Activated) Maxwell and Crimson enjoyed the temporary shelter of a nearby tree, this weather was simply too atrocious to be in, a simple day out always had way too many twists and turns for Max's liking. As Max glanced back to the spot where the charcoaled Bidoof lay he noticed that the beaver pokemon had disappeared, clearly recovering from its fainted state and looking for some shelter of its own.
Crimson appeared to be on high alert as he was paying close attention to his surroundings, he was looking any sounds or movements that weren't hail. It was Crimson that happened to notice a bouncing blur seemingly appearing from a distance and moving closer to he and his trainer, the fire type pokemon tapped Max on the leg to gain his attention.
"What is it little buddy?"
As Maxwell turned he looked down towards Crimson and noticed his partner was pointing north, initially Max took this as a request from his pokemon to keep moving on. Max soon realised that Crimson was simply trying to gauge his attention to an oncoming being. It was particularly difficult to view exactly what the bouncing blur was until it bounded closer, however the being was seemingly releasing flickers of thunder from its body and heading directly towards Max
"Well whatever this thing is, it's coming right for us, you ready to go again Crimson?"
Crimson nodded, he was ready to fight for the second time today. The wild weather was surely leaving alot of wild pokemon uneasy as their homes were damaged or destroyed, this particular pokemon didn't appear to have any malicious intent, it just appeared to be in an altered behavioural state due to the weather
"Let's whip out your wombo combo again Crimson, stop the wild pokemon in its tracks by combining Incinerate and Flamethrower!"
Max retrieved his pokedex from his backpack and pointed it towards the wild pokemon, after a few moments of the device attempting to scan the being through the hail a solution was found. The wild pokemon was of a species known commonly as Mareep. This particular sheep pokemon appeared to be in a dazed state, unaware of its surroundings, soon enough though it was sure to be more than aware of them! Much like he had done previously in the battle against the wild Bidoof Crimson adjusted his goggles from his forehead over his eyes to protect them from the hail. Crimson's entire body then proceeded to turn white as an intense heat was let off, the lizard pokemon then proceeded released an orange stream of fire from its mouth that was headed straight towards the wild Mareep!

The apparently startled Mareep continued to dart in the general direction of Max and Crimson, sparking just a little with each hailstone that struck its woollen body. It didn’t seem to like the cold or the hail at all and was probably wishing for a warmer climate any time soon. As the sheep-thing came closer into view, it finally seemed to notice the pairing and let out a small cry of shock, as if it suddenly realised what might be about to happen. Once Crimson had squared up to his new target, the Mareep’s face turned into one of half-hearted aggression as it started crackling fiercely with electricity. The battle was about to start, whether or not the opponent wanted it at all. Once the Electric typed target was within range, Crimson shut his mouth tight for a moment, building up a high-power burst of flame in his stomach before belching it out with a roar. The flames tore through the chilling wind, washing over Mareep once they met it. The small sheep stood its ground, grunting softly as it endured the pain. Mareep’s response was to spark even brighter with electricity, discharging towards the fire-breathing lizard as soon as it could. The electricity wrapped itself around Crimson, seemingly trying to restrain him before slowly sinking into his skin. The Charmander looked more shocked than damaged, but as he tried to lift an arm he found his muscles weren’t responding as normal. He appeared to be paralysed! This struggle gave Mareep another chance to asset its authority, and it raced up towards Crimson, growling out its battle cry. As it approached the orange lump, it Tackled him at full force! Crimson stood strong, not like he had much choice with his muscles failing him. As he battled with the muscular difficulties, he once again tried to summon up the fire from within. With the same motions as before, he tried… And he tried… And… he bellowed loudly, coughing up an even stronger burst of flames which quickly engulfed and roasted the Mareep, bringing a high-pitched squeal from it as it as it realised just how warm it was finally getting. Careful what you wish for, dear Mareep. Careful indeed. The Mareep slowly fell to the floor, trying desperately to remain conscious. However, as a hailstone hit it square on the noggin, the woolly mammal finally gave up the ghost and fainted. Crimson took a sigh of relief as the paralysis proves little more than an irritation. FIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT!

Maxwell king » OOC: Crimson will not be learning Smokescreen thanks! Boy oh boy was Crimson's new combo overkill, the fire type lizard had just burnt a wild Bidoof to a crisp and cut a wild Mareep's day out short. Crimson appeared to be a quick learner and continued to get stronger with each and every battle he participated in, soon enough he would be ready to go into battle with Falkner, the gym leader of Violet City and his flying type pokemon. Max retrieved a red and white coloured pokeball from his backpack and tossed it towards the wild Mareep, it could prove to be an asset against Falkner's flying type pokemon.
"You're quite literally on fire Crimson, keep up the good work my young friend!"
Crimson smiled and clenched his hand into a fist and raised his arm into the air, he was proud of his training efforts so far. Max looked on with joy as he noticed the fainted wild Mareep had been captured by his pokeball, the male young adult dashed out from under the cover of the large oak tree and retrieved the pokeball before returning to his temporary shelter spot. The healing powers of the pokeball would help Max's newly captured Mareep heal up quickly and allow him to test her out in a few training battles! The hail still not quite holding off, a sporadic deluge from above intensified from time to time. By now, Maxwell and his team had likely become quite accustomed to it but there were those out on the route which were getting quite riled up by the weather atmospherics. One such example was a nearby member of the wildlife. Perched in the tree and biding their time for the hail to clear, a pair of eyes had been observing Maxwell's antics for some time now. Not quite realising it would be going from spectator to participator, a sudden shift in their safety would throw things into disarray. As if honing in on the hidden Pokemon, a mighty downpour of hail suddenly crashed into the tree itself. Whilst the branches and foliage had been enough to deflect the hail in recent times, this was beyond filtering. Crashing down and even knocking the Pokemon on the head with a rogue hailstone, it came flapping out of the tree and let out a number of raucous squawks, alterting just about anyone and everyone on the route to its presence. It was hard not to be drawn to it anyway with how garish its appearance was. Sporting a real mixture of colourful feathers, it was none other than a Chatot. Now within battling space of Maxwell, the Pokemon froze up, wondering if the trainer would decide to do a little training with it. Encounter

Maxwell king » OOC: an electrifying change of pace! (Running Shoes Activated) The wild, cold weather that seemingly never wanted to disappear was not only causing many pokemon trainers grief but also the wildlife of the routes between towns. The grief that the wildlife were experiencing due to the weather was especially true for a particular Chatot who emerged from the branches of a nearby and was squawking out loudly, clearly disgruntled by the weather. The flying type pokemon would be a perfect opportunity for Max to test out his newly acquired Mareep in battle as he released the electric type pokemon from her pokeball,
"Welcome to the team young Jupiter!"
Jupiter would be the newly acquired Mareep's nickname, a unique nickname to say the least. Max retrieved a technical machine that contained the move Thunderbolt and placed it in front of Jupiter for her to learn. Max didn't like to classify himself as some mindless pokemon trainer whose only goal was to train his own pokemon constantly, however his actions certainly mimicked that lifestyle.
"Okay it's time to test out your skills Jupiter! I'd like for you to test out a combination of Thunder Wave and Thunderbolt!"
Jupiter snapped to attention at her new trainer's command, her mind had been wandering off mindlessly after adding a new move to her arsenal. Jupiter focused what little attention span she had upon the airborne Chatot and released thin streams of electricity from her body towards her flying type adversary. Yellow sparks appeared to surround Jupiter's body as they crackled before the wool pokemon released a powerful bolt of yellow electricity from her body that was headed directly towards the wild Chatot.

The Chatot squawked in distress as the trainer before it did indeed choose to battle, releasing his newest Pokémon servant to fight for him. Jupiter landed on the ground in front of her trainer and looked around, her attention drifting to and from the Chatot a few times. She seemed to be at least half aware that she was in a battle, at least. Her trainer’s orders snapped her out of this daze, at least temporarily, however. With fear in its eyes, the Chatot reluctantly took up a battle stance and cawed loudly in half-hearted defiance. Flapping its wings in the hail, the Chatot took off toward Jupiter at quite some pace. Before the Mareep could get any attacks off, Chatot was already making its first move. It landed by Jupiter and leaned over to her ear, whispering something to her. Jupiter looked rather confused, but listened anyway. Well, listened as much as her attention span would allow. By the end of the speech, Jupiter’s eyes widened in surprise. Her concentration levels fell even lower as she took on board what was said, and it almost seemed as if her will to fight had been reduced. Plan successful, it would seem, as Jupiter looked around the area seeming lost for what to do. It took just one look back at her trainer, however, to remind her what was expected of her. Electricity began to spark out of her woollen body, and she focused her attention on the Chatot that had just said goodness-knows-what to her. Giving a fierce battle-cry, the Mareep loosed several slim tendrils of electricity toward her foe. The Thunder Wave was already a familiar sight, having been used on Crimson just moments earlier, and just as before it ensnared its target. Chatot’s heart skipped a beat as it stood stock still in fear of what was to come for it. The electricity slowly seeped into Chatot’s every muscle, leaving a rather heavy dose of paralysis behind. Once it realised that its muscles were no longer cooperating, Chatot panicked even more and wondered if it was even going to live much longer. But Jupiter wasn’t done there. With her opponent now struggling to manage any kind of movement at all, she could get her next attack off before any kind of response was even considered. She crackled with lightning, much more than ever before, and cried out loudly before releasing a massive bolt of electricity straight at Chatot. The panicked parrot tried its best to dodge the blast, but its wings just would not do what it wanted them to. The Thunderbolt fried Chatot rather easily, and the Flying type fell to its knees. That is, if birds even have those. Despite its best efforts, however, this Chatot wasn’t going to remain conscious. What a powerful attack that’d been. Perhaps it’d been a critical blow, even? The Chatot lay there regardless, hail pelting its poor defenceless body. Wild Battle

Maxwell king » OOC: Jupiter won't be learning Thundershock and the sprite for hope has been supplied! To say Jupiter's attention span is short would be a gross under-statement, it's basically non-existent. The wild Chatot was swift in motion, in and then back out of close quarters before Jupiter could react. Jupiter appeared dazed with everything that was occurring around her, not only was her new trainer forcing her into training on a miserably cold day but now a pesky parrot was confiding some information to her that she wished she never heard.
"Snap out of your trance Jupiter and focus."
A quick glance back to her trainer and the sound of his voice were reassuring enough to help Jupiter concentrate, even if it were only for a small amount of time. The thunder wave move ensnared the parrot like pokemon in state of paralysis. Chatot was now visibly finding it difficult to move any part of its body and the frightened look on the bird pokemon's face indicated that it knew its fight was soon over. Jupiter crackled like a lightning rod as she unleashed what would ultimately be the move that lead to Chatot's demise as the intense bolt of lightning that was propelled from Jupiter's cotton wool like body left the wild Chatot lying motionless in the middle of the makeshift battlefield.
"Well, what a shocking conclusion that ended up being."
Max was unable to hide a slight smirk on his face at his latest pun. Jupiter turned and glanced at Max with a confused look on her face as if to ask 'what's next?'. Only one thing was on Max's mind at the time, training. While the majority of other trainers were indoors avoiding the dreary weather of the outdoors, Max viewed this as a prime opportunity to condition his team to different settings for battle. Suddenly Max felt one of the pokeballs attached to his belt begin to shake viciously, before Max was able to react Hope the Scatterbug released herself from her pokeball and out onto the cold, wet surface.
"Hope, what do you think you're doing?"
The look on Max's face was one of confusion as to Hope's actions, however his questions were soon to be answered as Hope's body begun to glow and her body shape change. As the glow surrounding Hope's body disappeared it was clear she had taken a new form, an evolution to her next state known as Spewpa. Max was feeling both happy and in a state of shock, the young bug pokemon was already well ahead of were he had expected her development to be. (First things first, welcome back Hunter! I don't believe I've had a chance to say that yet.)
Congratulations! Hope evolved into a Spewpa! She learned Protect!
Hope's evolution was hardly the only change that was going on in Route 30 at this point in time. The hailstorm had stopped as suddenly as it had started, and the clouds were already starting to part. It felt like an absolute age had passed - close to 11 months, if one had to be specific - and this passage of time seemed to have had a significant impact on the weather in the immediate area. The hail soon made way for a bright beam of sunlight which peeked through the clouds up above Max's head. The sun wasn't particularly fierce, but it made a pleasant change from the ice pellets that had rained down on the fashionista and his team just moments earlier. Despite the lack of intensity from the sun, however, Max would've felt pretty warm as the humidity index was rising with each passing second. The new conditions would perhaps take a bit of getting used to, but all around him the wildlife was already adjusting quite easily. One such wild Pokémon was a happy little Hoppip, who drifted through the Route with a smile on its face. Of course, Hoppip always had a smile on their face, but this one was most certainly justified in being so happy. The climate was quite a nice one for this Grass type, and it was simply enjoying its time in the new environment. That hailstorm had been very irritating, after all. All the pain and the wind wasn't good for Hoppip. This was much better. Hoppip approved. As the wind carried it across the fields, Hoppip noticed a light in the distance. Curious, the little seedling did its best to direct itself toward the disturbance. Fortunately, it seemed that the wind was feeling generous as it granted Hoppip's wish. Hoppip saw the culprit with its own eyes before long. A glowing bug of some kind. As the glow finished, it would be revealed as a Spewpa. A Spewpa with a fancy scarf. Hoppip's eyes lit up. What a wonderful garment! Hoppip bounced around excitedly as it slowly moved toward the well-dressed creature. As it did so, it noticed that the Bug type was also wearing a peculiar piece of headgear. Now there were two things that it liked the look of. It simply had to know where it could get one. Hoppip sang enthusiastically as it approached Max and his team. It was going to get its answers soon. One way or another, it would find out where to get these items for itself.
A Hoppip (Level 9) has appeared to try and get one of those lovely scarves! Will Maxwell fight or flee?

Maxwell king » OOC: Thanks Noerd! The smile on Max's face signified how happy he was feeling to have witnessed Hope evolve. Evolution represented a process of change and development, a change this early in his career as a pokemon trainer was certainly a modest step forward. Max had just finished witnessing his pokemon's evolution and almost on queue as the dreary, cold conditions of the outdoors disappeared and was replaced with clear blue skies and the pleasant sight of the sun. Maxwell was aware that with the change in weather, numerous other trainers would return to their normal activities outdoors.
A small pink pokemon had been watching Hope's transformation nearby and had its eyes set solely upon the pink scarf that Hope was wearing. The wild Hoppip approached Max and his team and was singing a lovely melody as it floated through the air. Jupiter and Hope looked visibility relaxed at the sound of the Hoppip's singing. Max stared at the new wild pokemon that had appeared before he and his team, the language barrier between humans and pokemon was present as Max could simply only hear the pink ball like pokemon chanting its own name continuously. Max happened to notice the wild Hoppip's gaze was fixated upon Hope's pink scarf wrapped around her neck, was it possible that this wild pokemon was a fan of Max's fashion choice.
"I see, you're interested in Hope's scarf. Well then, if you can beat her in a battle maybe I can hook you up with something unique."
