Minusaki stepped outside as she didn't feel cold due to her jacket. She pulled the pokeball out of her pocket as she started at it "It's not a ghost type....or a steel type....or even a psychic type...but they'll work for now." she started to walk towards route 29 and as she was a chunk of hail smacked her foot "OW!" she looked up at the dark grey clouds "Oh great.....Hail. That just makes this journey so much better." she let out a heavy sigh as she continued.
She eventually entered the tall grass and let out her Squirtle "Okay Squirtle....I'm gonna need you to help me fight or catch any other Pokemon. Think you can do that?" she watched her Squirtle nod as she smiled and continued in the tall grass knowing of the unknown Pokemon lurking in it.

Despite being Summer on the calendar, it was almost a well-known inside joke to those that got their first Pokemon that there was more than likely going to be a hailstorm, despite the season. The Sun was showing little promise of peeking through the thick hail clouds this morning, so for the meantime it was best to keep bundled up in the jacket. Minusaki was more fortunate than others and had come prepared. A few other trainers that had just started shivered in their shorts and T-shirts, clearly not prepared for all types of weather. Hopefully they picked Charmander, as the tail fire could help them keep warm. However, not deterred from the situation, Minusaki had pressed forward into the first route. Route 29 promised little in the diversity of Pokemon, especially from the list that she'd rattled off. Content with her water starter, there would certainly be no ghosts, steel types, or psychics on this route. Sarcastic Pokemon to match her hail enthusiasm were abound, however. Peering out lazily from a den, Pidgey blinked before attempted to go back to sleep. The hail storm was about to start up, and the last thing the flying type wanted to do was dodge those painful ice balls in an attempt to get a quick meal. The early bird got the worm, yes, but this bird didn't like to be early. Especially when early meant hail. Because of this, Pidgey had skipped out on breakfast. It's stomach grumbled occasionally, but Pidgey batted it away until it heard the sound of a trainer trudging through the tall grasses down below it's tree. Trainers meant food! It had stolen a sandwich from an unsuspecting trainer once before, perhaps it could do it again! Or, of course, be so incredibly cute that the trainer would feel bad for it and give it food! Making up it's mind, the lazy Pidgey hopped from it's den and glided down to the route below, chirping happily at Minusaki and her Squirtle. After it beat the water turtle starter, Pidgey would win the affections of Minusaki and get fed to it's hearts content. Dragging a little foot across the ground and preening a feather, Pidgey chirped once more and hopped. Surely Minusaki knew it wanted to battle by now.  A lazy Pidgey has challenged you! Minusaki stared at the Pidgey unsure of what type it was as she never saw any from her homeland back in the Hoenn region. She saw the bird Pokemon and thought about it "You remind me of the Wingulls I saw flying around at home....." she sighed remembering the Pokemon she left at home before she looked at her Squirtle "Okay Squirtle! This is our first battle together! Let's make it a good one!" Her Squirtle looked excited for his first fight.
Minusaki stared at the Pidgey "Seeing how it looks like a bird....it must be a flying type! Good thing Squirtle is a water type!" She seemed ready as she thought of catching it just to see what it would evolve into later on as she was very interested in learning more about the Pokemon of this region as much as she wanted to be a Detective "The better knowledge I have of the Pokemon here, the better my skills will be as a Detective!" she was ready for her first battle "Okay Squirtle! Use Tackle!" The Squirtle nodded as it took a running start and tackled the Pidgey with his body

Minusake was smart to know that Pidgey was part flying type as most new trainers would just attack without taking type into consideration but what she did not know was that Pidgey were fast for a common bird Pokemon. Unlike Buddy who was on the slow side which meant that even his best efforts would not be enough to outrun the bird. That was something that would cost Buddy a bit of his hit points as the bird sensed he was about to make a move. Before he could get started Pidgey hopped towards him and rammed the young turtle with a speedy Tackle to try and take advantage of it's speed. However Pidgey allowed itself to get to close to him and he was soon able to retaliate with a Tackle of his own. It came as a shock to the bird that the turtle was able to score a hit as it was faster. Neither attack had come close to being a knockout blow as both Pokemon were still in good health but the partial normal type that Pidgey had allowed it's Tackle to hit a bit harder. Buddy was not out of it yet but he had falled behind a bit as his Tackle had no chance of matching Pidgey's power without getting a lucky critical hit. However Pidgey were not know to be too aggressive so perhaps he would not need luck if the young Pidgey decided to toy with him in the next round. In either case Minusaki had to make a decision as to how she was going to approach the next round before Pidgey grew impatient and attacked again. If it attacked without Buddy getting a chance to make a move this match would go from close to lopsided very quickly. To mkae matters worse the hail had begun to affect both Pokemon causing them to lose HP. Pokemon Battle

Minu had noticed the hit her Squirtle had taken as she watched the Pidgey go in for another tackle "Seems like this bird is a bit faster. It's only likely....Buddy does have to carry a shell on his back...." she gave it some thought as she studied the bird Pokemon from her distance "Maybe....It wants something." She watched Buddy waddle back to her side as she smiled "I have an idea Buddy."Buddy looked up and titled his head "Squirt?" She pat his head "If it doesn't work you'll put the Tackle train back on it's tracks okay?" Buddy nodded and watched ready to tackle again
She reached into her bag and pulled out a sandwich she had made before she left as she had planned to eat it for lunch "This Pidgey must be attacking because it's hungry!" She tore a large piece of the sandwich off and put it back in her bag. She walked over to the Pidgey slowly and handed it the piece of sandwich "Here ya go little fella, I bet your hungry." She had a warm smile as she held the food there hoping to obtain a new speedy companion on her journey.

[Drawn the short straw, Minu. Being the longest wait just after I get decent comments in practice. :p]The Pidgey looked up at Minusaki’s face, tilting its head to once side as she approached with a sandwich. This strange creature had just been attacking it with its minions… and now it was going to feed it? Humanses were most strange beings. While Minusaki crouched down with the piece of delicious food, Pidgey considered its options. “Fight, Eat, Call for Friend, Run”, those were its options. This took a few seconds for the Pidgey to process. After consideration, it pecked Minusaki’s finger hard and cawed loudly, seemingly not intending on ending the battle now that it’d been hurt. Seeing this as a sign that the plan had failed, Buddy readied himself for combat once more. The Pidgey took flight, eyes filled with determination as it darted straight towards Buddy. It dragged a wing along the ground as it approached, swerving sharply just in front of the Squirtle and spraying it with a mixture of dirt particles. Buddy made a strange noise of discomfort and shock, his eyes filled with the not-really-sand. Trying to free his vision, Buddy ran forward desperately to try and fulfil his trainer’s commands. He lowered his head as he approached what he thought was his opponent. He flung himself into the air, striking the Pidgey fortunately enough and knocking the wind out of it a little. The Pidgey retreated a few strides, preening the front of its body and sighing, wondering how things might have gone if it had just taken the sandwich. The two Pokémon looked a little more even after that round of combat, with Pidgey being the only one to actually take damage this round. Buddy at least seemed like he might be able to pull out a win at this rate, but the Sand Attack was clearly causing issues for his vision. Pidgey looked a lot less confident now, its eyes filled with regret and mild confusion. It was considerably battered by this point, but it was a little early to judge who would win. Pokemon Battle

She felt the sharp peck as she retracted her hands "Ow! Oh you little son of a-" she cussed out the Pidgey with every cuss word she knew before she noticed Buddy had gotten hit with sand and other ground particles as this only made her even more upset "I'm gonna make sure you pay for this!" she sounded furious as she held her pecked finger "You doing a great job Buddy! Now finish this off with one more Tackle!"
Buddy understood the command and started to charge at the Pidgey one more "SQUIRTLE!" Minusaki looked determined watched her little turtle charge as the bird "This tackle train has no brakes and you're right on the track!" She got her bag ready as she reached inside and got out a Pokeball to be prepared in case the Pokemon were to faint from this next attack

Pidgey hopped happily flapping his wings to show how much fun it was having while being cursed out. Letting out a few caws of laughter as the trainer and Pokemon talked among themselves. The Pidgey was even cheeky enough to pick up his wing to clean the dirt out of his feathers from the attack he just used. Finally the attack order was made for Buddy, the small bird Pokemon charged towards, Buddy hitting full speed on his shell. While it did quiet some damage, Buddy looked down on the Pidgey pretty angry. Buddy wiped his eyes trying to get the soil out from his eyes, but it was stuck. In anger he put his head down and charged right at the fleeing Pidgey to find out it was still stand only just. It wasn't so chirpy as it was and it flutter it's wings slightly to get to it's feet. While standing for the action both were pelted by the hail and took some damage. Pokemon Battle

Minusaki watched the Pidgey and it only made her more upset "That's it!" she clenched the pokeball in her hand with all the strength she could muster before she looked at Buddy "It's okay Buddy. I'm gonna end this." she looked over at the Pidgey before she pointed "You've caused me and my Squirtle enough trouble! I'm going to make sure that you don't do this to any other trainer! And you wanna know how I'm gonna do that?! By catching you and making you my own!"
She looked at the Pokeball and then the Pidgey "Go Pokeball!" she threw the Pokeball at full speed straight towards the Pidgey as Buddy cheered her on "Squirtle! Squirtle! Squirtle! Squirt Squirt Squirt!" she watched the Pokeball fly through the air hoping to land the hit and catch the fast feathery Pokemon "This has to work! It just has too!"

Pidgey was still having fun making this poor trainers start a living hell. But in its proud state it wasn't really paying attention to its health. Pidgey charged at the Squirtle once more it was a hit! The Pidgey squawked in happiness "Pidgey, Pidg!" He jumped back to his starting place and waited for the next attack, little did it know it wasn't an attack. A white and red ball came flying through the air, Pidgey had see this happen before. It squawked in panic and tried to run away, but this time his reaction speed was to slow. The Pokeball opened up and red light zapped out taking the Pidgey inside. Pidgey wasn't going down without a fight though. The ball started to shake from the outside as it fought being captured.  Three... Two... one... Caught! Pidgey couldn't fight no more.

Minusaki went over and picked up the Pokeball she was proud of herself as she stared at it "I'm going to name you....Pilot! Because your a flying type!" she smiled and looked over at Buddy as she gave him a pat on the head "You did good Buddy. I'm proud of you." Buddy smiled before hugging his trainer "Squirtle!"
Minusaki stared at the Pokeball as she was glad to have her new feathery companion "We're gonna be good friends Pilot. I promise." she then continued to walk down the route she was on hoping to reach the next city soon and find out more about the IPF. She stretched a bit before sighing as she still missed her home back in the Hoenn region as she looked over at Buddy "You know Buddy.....there were a lot of Water types where I came from." Buddy tilted his head before smiling as he seemed happy to be with his trainer

A Sentret not to far off the main route was running around dodging little bits of hail, if it could. It made little squeaks of pain as the hail hit, this wasn't the summer it was looking forward too. Its mum had promised sun, warmth and berries for miles around. But it was a harsh warm summer, one that the little Sentret didn't want to see. The little Sentret waved its tail in the air trying to get the trainers attention. Any life was better then this, it knew its mum told it to stay away from trainers they'll do nothing but battle with you. But it didn't want to carry on living like this, and the battle might be fun. Finally making its way over to Minusaki, it waited for the next step.  A wild Sentret [Level 6] has appeared! Attack or run? Ooc: Hey I noticed you did fill out the form for Pilot if you could do that we can't him/her in your party! You'll need to pick a gender, it's ability and nature!  |

Her eyes sparkled as she saw the the stripped tailed Pokemon "Oh my goodness! You are adorable!" She looked at a Pokeball and nodded "Okay then Strip Tail! I'm going to catch you so I can have you on my journey! Go Pilot!" she threw the pokeball letting out the Pidgey as it stood there and flapped his wings. He turned around stared at his trainer as she blinked "What? Is there something behind me?" she tuned around not seeing anything and looked back as she shook her head "You'll get used to it"
She got herself ready for battle again "Okay Pilot! Use Tackle!" Pilot flapped his wings before using momentum to tackle the stripped tailed Pokemon with all his might. Minusaki smiled as she thought her Pidgey would simply disrespect her for catching him so suddenly "Good job Pilot!" She watched her speedy bird companion fly back in-front of her.

The beginning of a new partnership, it would be a real test to see how well the dynamics between Pilot and Minusaki worked. Pokemon were like humans in the fact they had a chemistry with others. With any luck the two would be able to become firm allies and work together to succeed. Flapping his diminutive wings away, the Pidgey was able to create a respectable amount of momentum and went dive bombing into the opponent with a tackle. Knocking the Sentret backwards, the Pokemon let out a high pitched squeak at being knocked around so forcibly. Composing itself with a shake of its head, the Pokemon narrowed its eyes and seemed to be... Studying the Pidgey? With some added foresight, it was possible the Pokemon was looking for a weakness to exploit. Or rather, was just taken by the Pokemon's fine form. Either way, it appeared Pilot and Minusaki would be getting on okay. Before the fight itself could resume, a sudden deluge of hailstorms from above intensified, dabbing at both Pilot and the Sentret. It was risky business fighting out in such conditions. Wild Battle

Minusaki looked in confusion at the Sentret's interesting stare. She did find the high pitched squeal a bit funny as it was a bit unexpected but soon let that fact go. She looked at Pilot "Okay Pilot! Hit them with another tackle!" Pilot looked over at her and soon refused to move as Minusaki looked stressed "Come on Pilot!" Pilot shook his head and started to clean his wing
Minusaki closed her eyes a took a deep breath "Pilot! I swear to Arceus if you do not cooperate I will leave you in the PC for the rest of your days!" Pilot flinched and turned back around to the striped tailed Pokemon as Minusaki seemed to calm down and smile "Thank you. Now! Use tackle!" Pilot flapped his wings and used the height to glide in for another tackle
