OOC: Ivysaur Take Down whoever shows up

Soon after sending his Ivysaur out, the Grimer was knocked out cold, but not before waking up and gathering its group to retreat. Alex was glad that the stinky poison type was finally gone, and exhaled deeply a sigh of relief, and then sipped his Peanut butter banana smoothie to cleanse the smell by tasting something fresh and cold.

He thanked his Saurobix for the help, and returned all the other Pokemon out here, if he had any. He continued exiting the tunnel from working for the day with his Ivysaur. Just as he reached near the end though, something else did occur. His Ivysaur was ready to attack with a Take Down defensively.

[Midnightive]

As Alex made his way further and further into the tunnel. The natural sunlight from behind seemed to, disappear completely and the bright over headlights kept the pathway lit. Saurobix noticed something strange dancing and flickering out the corner of his eye. He turned towards it and as instructed it. He charged right for the moving Pokemon and dashed right through!

Oh dear. Ghastly slowly raised off the floor and turned angrily two the pair his eyes turned to slits. The lights flickered as a sudden chill shuddered down their back. Ghastly has used night shade and fired right at Saurobix. So normal type moves weren't going to work with this battle. What was the plan now?

Even though the Ivysaur was intending to attack whatever that was in sight, the Gastly was completely immune to such a mediocre take down attack. Now the Gastly brought some strange flashback for Alex back in Ilex forest, but he shook his head and tried to forget that happened other than the fact that he rescued a Chikorita and normal type moves don't work on ghost type Pokemon. "A Gastly, huh? Saurobix, use Razor Leaf!" He ordered and keep himself out of the way of the two Pokemon's battle.

After hearing the order and feeling his Take Down had failed, the grass type readily turned his head at the opponent, and summoned a flurry of leaves with razor sharp edges toward the ghost type. The flying leaves were moving at extremely fast miles per hour, and both Saurobix and Alex figured that there shouldn't be any way that the ghost would dodge this attack this time.

Almost remembering something that he would've much rather forgotten, Alex tried to push the ghostly memory from Ilex Forest far back in his mind, whilst he took on this ghastly opponent. A floating ball of purple haze with a wild grin, the spooky ghoul had cackled from the Ivysaur's mishap earlier but the same mistake wasn't going to be happening twice. After all, Alex had a reasonable amount of experience when it came to dealing with Ghost type Pokemon and even he knew that another Take Down would not work. Thinking calmly, the young man ordered a different attack, one which was certain to hit it's mark. Stomping a foot forward, Saurobix let out a deep snort as he faced the Gastly.

With a raise of the leaves that surrounded the ever growing bud on his back, several seemed to shoot out from beneath the growth. Razor sharp edges, the leaves spun through the air, flying in several directions which made it difficult for the Gastly to keep up with the movements. Before it knew, the attack was slicing as it from every angle, wisps of gas rising from its body with each strike. A glint to its eye, the Gastly struck back. Using the many shadows of the underground, the Gastly used its powers to move and contort them, a wave of dark energy attacking Saurobix from his side and dealing the same amount of damage again.

Watching the gas ball unable to dodge the razor leaf, Alex was satisfied from the attack executing successfully. The Gastly also attacked and didn't do anything strange, probably a shadowy attack or something, whatever. Even though he hated ghost tyoes, his experience in Ilex Forest taught him that, well, even ghost types have some values in them. Perhaps instead of knocking this one out, he could capture it and sell or trade it to somebody else?

Looking through his bag, it didn't take him long to find a single empty Pokeball, which was wobbling on top of some other empty Pokeballs. He had more empty Pokeballs that he had thought, he smiled to himself quietly. Then, he thanked his Ivysaur for the execution of the Razor Leaf. Letting his grass type Pokemon step back, he tossed an empty capture device as far as his hand could reach. Now, he waited as the ball sucked in the Pokemon to see if he had captured it.

[Midnightive]

Ghastly stayed floating in the air with a few cuts here and there from where the razor leaf had hit. But he wasn't going to back down without a fight, the ghastly though had lost his grin in the last attack. Regained his grin and was preparing his next attack, the light purple smoke around him started to to dancing around him. Looking up he noticed a red and white ball being flung towards him his grin suddenly turned into a frown as the ball swallowed him hole.

Ghastly was caught!

Once the ball had stopped wiggling. Saurobix and Alex felt happy the ghostly Pokemon was gone. It was over and they had a new Pokemon whether it was to be part of his party or kept in the pc only time would tell. But they can finally move on.

Saurobix fought well in battle.

Upon hearing the ding from the capture device to signal the success of the capture, Alex sighed a breath of relief that this battle was over. He went over to pick up the Pokeball and thanked his Ivysaur for help, and also took a sip of his drink again. With his Pokemon getting stronger, he could eventually travel to the next city and gym. However, right now he was currently committed to his casual job, and he would like to make some bucks to recover and to save up some travel fees so he could go to next city and try out some new food too.

Leaving his Ivysaur out of the ball, he continued as he made his way back to his lodging at Pokemon Center, and whatever next thing that comes up, he'll be able to train his Pokemon on the side of this job.

Lifting up the Pokeball which now housed a lone Gastly, Alex was free to continue his walk back towards the Pokemon Centre. The underground tunnel stretched underneath the large city, making it quite the trek despite being considered as a shortcut. Many strange and untrustworthy dealings happened in the tunnel, making it the home of unsavoury trainers and a mixture of wild Pokemon. Alex had already met his fair share but it wasn't going to stop there. As he walked with his Ivysaur by his side, a strange, pungent smell entered the nostrils of Saurobix. Pulling a disgruntled look, the Ivysaur was not too pleased with this smell but as he looked around from left to right, he couldn't quite put his foot on where it was coming from. It wasn't coming from a bad restaurant or sacks of rubbish, it smelt like raw sewage.

It was then that the Pokemon felt something splat against his head, the slimy substance trickling down his head. Trying to shake it off, the Ivysaur lifted his head where he then spotted the culprit; a smelly Grimer was literally above them, clinging to the ceiling. Upon meeting the eyes of Saurobix, the Grimer released it's grip, falling to the floor below with a splat before reforming itself and facing both trainer and Pokemon. With a grunt, Saurobix released a wave of razor leaf, the sharp leaves slicing through the body of Grimer as if they were sharp knives. But no matter how much the Grimer was struck, it slipped back together, doing barely any damage what so ever. With a lift of it's arm, the Grimer than threw a blob of horrible mud and muck toward, striking the Ivysaur square in the face. That didn't do much damage either but rather enraged the Ivysaur and made him smell.

Seeing that another Grimer had decided to attack them again, Alex used his hands to cover his nose and mouth to reduce smelling that awful and nasty smell. Not going to waste his time on this smelly Pokemon, he quickly gave an order to his Ivysaur to finish this nauseating Pokemon. "Razor leaf until it's gone!" He ordered as concisely as possible, to avoid saying more than necessary, and therefore breathing in more than necessary. Saurobix made a sound to signal that he got the order, and readily summoned another flurry of leaves toward the opponent. Alex then turned himself away, hopefully to catch air from a different direction. With his ears not effected by the smell, he could hear how the battle would go, and he just needed to hear the sound of Grimer in pain and running away, whichever happened first.

A flurry of razor sharp leaves fluttered through the air, tearing at the sludgy body of the poison pokémon. Grimer's visage disappeared inside of the mold as the attack hit, reeling from the damage, but after a moment the set of eyes reappeared. An arm formed from its side with a pile of itself in hand. With a whipping motion the wild grimer flung some of its muddy body at Saurobix in retaliation. It had minimal effect, what with the ivysaur being part poison itself, not to mention far stronger than his stinky opponent.

Enacting his trainer's wishes Saurobix went at it again, the leaves surrounding the bulb on his back raising in preparation for another batch of leaves to shoot out toward the enemy. Again the leafy projectiles sunk into the poisonous blob's figure and caused a momentary collapse. Unfortunately neither hit had managed to strike a critical mass within the wild pokémon and grimer was able to reform again; albeit with a bit of a shiver. Grimer tried something different this time though, locking eyes with its enemy and catching Saurobix' gaze. In an instant there was an overwhelming flash that glazed over the ivysaur. The trainer's partner would find it very difficult to remember just how to properly use Razor Leaf, like a forgotten word on the tip of one's tongue.

Well, the stench was still here, and Alex turned around to see the Grimer still hanging around here. This meant that the Ivysaur's Razor Leaf were stopped by something probably. Covering his nostrils and mouth, he took a quick look and saw that the battle was still going on, but the Grimer's pathetic face looked a little weary.

Could this be the same technique that the ghost Pokemon were using? To stop an attack?

Thinking that there's a possibility that Pokemon outside of ghost could know Disable, he uttered a loud single line of "Take Down!" at his Ivysaur, and then turned away and tried to not gag or vomit once again. Why was Grimer a Pokemon? They look awful, sick, and nauseating. He heard his Ivysaur yelled his battlecry and then the feet running forward: he can't wait for the smell to be gone.

Grimer's hope of disabling its opponent's attacks fell flat, as even though the trainer hadn't been watching Alex was still smart enough to realize what was going on. The disgusted trainer stopped holding his breath long enough to call out a different attack for Saurobix to use and the ivysaur wasted no time in doing so. The seed pokémon jolted forward as fast as his stubby legs could carry him and rammed headlong into the gooey grimer. The wild pokémon wailed in pain before collapsing into itself; leaving nothing but a slimy pool of stench.

Unfortunately it seemed that stank wasn't about to go away any time soon, even though the sludge pokémon had been defeated.

Using a different attack, the Grimer was down for the count, but the smell still remained. Ivysaured cried happily at Alex, now that the opponent was defeated. He thanked his Pokemon for the help, and then turned around really quick to see the pile of goo where the Grimer once stood. He shook his head at the stench, then walked a little away from the scene before returning his grass type Pokemon. Whoever cleans up this area must be used to the stench, right? he wondered.

A couple days later, he had picked a different path to go between Pokemon Center and his work. Hopefully this time, he won't be seeing those nasty Grimer. On the other hand, this path doesn't go through the smoothie shop, but he figured it was okay because he could be saving from drinking Smoothies everyday. He will just have to take a few days rest from drinking sugary milk confections. This path he had chosen seemed to have more retail stores, with their bright display lights and mannequins wearing colorful clothes. Too bad he wasn't settled down to live in the city to shop for those things. He continued his way after another day of work. At least he might have enough to get a new coat for upcoming winter in Johto. Last time he wasn't prepared.

As Alex continued his walk across the underground tunnel of Goldenrod, passing by a number of fashionable looking stores, the sound of high pitched, angry shrieks could be heard and they only grew louder and clearer with each step he took. Due to the sound echoing against the underground walls, it took him a bit of time before he actually came across the source of the shouting. Slowly but surely, the cries of a young woman entered his ears and if he couldn't already tell by this point; she wasn't happy. "Ohmy GAWD! What did you do to my PRECIOUS POKEMON?!" Her words accompanied by stomping heels and her hand slamming against the windows of the store, it seemed that she was aiming all of her anger and hatred toward the infamous hairdressers of Goldenrod tunnel, the Salon Bros. "You have made my Furret look horrendously UGLY! I will never forgive you! Give me my money back THIS INSTANT!!"

A possible difference in taste, from her words, the woman wasn't happy with the way these brothers had styled her Pokemon. More so, they stood on the other side of the glass, turning the shop sign to "Closed" before disappearing off into the back room. "UUUURRRGGH! I'LL BE BACK! YOU HEAR ME?! MY BOYFRIEND WILL TOTALLY WRECK YOUR BUSINESS!" With each word she screamed, her pitch only grew higher, her hands banging against the glass before finally, she let out an irate huff. Raising her hands, she attempted to fix a few loose strands around her face before turning on her heels, pausing as she realised her tantrum had drawn in quite the crowd. "And what are you all looking at?!" She hissed, grabbing a Pokeball and throwing it forward to reveal a Corsola. "Any of you BABIES up for taking us on in a battle?! No! Cause you're all too weak and would rather crawl back home to your MOMMY!"

Her eyes piercing across the many faces of the crowd, a number walked off whilst a few remained behind, on the off chance that the drama would escalate. Her gaze eventually settling on Alex, she laughed in disbelief, "No takers? HAH! I bet you, you and especially you can't defeat me. Show me two of your best Pokemon and I'll crush them. Just like how this damn Salon is gonna burn!"

The thought of buying a new coat vanished just as he remembered New Bark Toan had hail the time he started his journey there. He followed the loud and high pitched noise echoing throughout the underground tunnel, and found out the cause of the problem. It looked like a customer wasn't satisfied with her Pokemon's grooming. A grown woman was having tantrum like a child, it was as if the only thing that grew was her physical body.

Upon seeing the Corsola sent out, Alex figured this might be a fight for him. He did have a few tricks against a trainer with underwater coral. "I'll help you relax with a Pokemon Battle, how's that? Pokemon occasionally would need a battle to release their pent up energy, and I would believe human would need something exciting or intense to relieve those adrenaline." He smiled cleverly, and then tossed out a Pokeball. "Come on out, Chryaisy, start off with a Sleep Powder!" He sent out his trusty grass type, who helped him won a gym battle recently with Whitney. This can't be any more different.
