A vein looked like it was going to pop out of her temple, her face impressively twisting into an even stronger anger than what she had already been displaying. Joanne balled up a fist in front of her, "Help ME relax!?" she repeated indignantly, growling in frustration. "I'm going to pullverize you! And then I'm taking this entire scam of a tunnel to the ground!" the woman hissed further, ignoring her poor choice of wording.

"Corsola, run them into the ground with an Ancient Power!" Her command was squealed, high pitched voice bouncing off the walls in a terrible shriek of anger. The corsola didn't appear to be fazed, as if this was somewhat of a norm for her. It was, perhaps, a bit of mercy that Chryaisy's first move was to put the happy coral pokémon to sleep. The powder spawned from the elegant flower atop the grass type's head wisped its way across the battle field to envelop Corsola before the water type could begin her attack. Inhaling the powder the Corsola was soon fast asleep.

Beauty Joanne stomped her foot, her heel clicking loudly on the tile flooring of the shopping tunnel. "No no no! Corsola wake up this instant!" she screeched in a shrill voice. But the only response from the pink pokémon was a cute snore and light scratch of her tummy.

Alex grinned and then sighed after the Corsola was put to sleep. The manipulation of sleep powder was enough to lure the adorable pink Pokemon to sleep, now he would just need to set up a stage for his Pokemon. "You sure your Pokemon don't need some beauty sleep? Insomnia for humans causes a lot of problems, you know? Like stress and crankiness. Maybe you could use some better sleep tonight. Now, Chryaisy, use Quiver Dance!" He usually wasn't this snarky, but this was such a rude customer. Heck, he wasn't even a certified doctor yet, maybe the threat of looking healthy and pretty would stop this zigzagoon from using draogn rage. He then watched as his Lilligant's footwork danced on the floor, relaxing the grass type herself and empowering her speed and mind. Alex wasn't sure now if this trainer was as shallow as Whitney or something, but a battle was a battle.

Beauty Joanne pointed a finger, vibrating with rage, at her opponent, "I don't need to hear your babble! What would you possibly know about beauty sleep?" she seethed, voice continuing to shriek at times. Her bag wobbled from her extended arm around the elbow, pokéballs jangling as it moved half open. It looked like she was starting to unravel a bit. The tantruming woman stomped her heel again a couple times, screaming at her Corsola to awaken.
"Wake up wake up! Can't your Refresh or whatever cure status effects?" she raged ignorantly. The pink coral pokémon continued to snooze away, though was looking a little disturbed by this point. Not unlike the parts of the crowd that had hung around. No doubt they were all rooting for Alex for shut the woman up.

Chryaisy went into a rhythmic trance, leafy arms elegantly whipping through the air as she danced. Her petal body was a fantastic display of shining greens, the red flower contrasting a wondrous blur as her quiver dance increased her speed among other stats. She continued undisturbed into the next round, stopping on the second round at which point her opponent stirred.
"Uuggghhhhh!" the Beauty exasperated. "Finally, now you're in trouble! Corsola, Ancient Power that fool!" A little bleary eyed the water type shivered itself more awake, albeit aided by the agitation in her trainer's voice. She began to glow with a brilliant light, dust rising from the floors surrounding her as she summoned up balls of rock brimming with energy. The stones shot forth and pelted Alex's lilligant, but overall it seemed to have done minimal damage. Of which only irked the Beauty further.

Upon hearing the opponent's reply, Alex changed his mind, perhaps this lady don't want to know about the benefits of sleep from a medical and healthy perspective.... Well, back to Pokemon, he thought. Thankfully, the Corsola was asleep long enough for his Lilligant to dance some amazing footsteps before summoning ancient power to dish out some ineffective damage. Now that his grass type was in tune rhythmically, he was ready for his next step.

"You did great, Chryaisy! Now go for a Giga Drain!" He clapped loudly as he shouted, cheering for his Pokemon. The grass type understood what to do, and then bowed herself before unleashing the powerful Giga Drain attack. "Well, at least I don't have to panic from sending out Lilligant against a Corsola. I don't think calling me a fool would be beneficial for this situation." He grinned and watched his Pokemon unfolded.

[Dan]

Corsola bopped up and down, ready for another attack. The now awake Pokemon was ready for some tough battling. Joanne’s phone began ringing, “Hold on a sec.” She clicked on the screen to answer the call, “What’s up? I’m in a battle right now. But like yeah I totally agree.” Several head nods later and she hung the phone up and got back to the battle. “Okay so like yeah that was my friend so let’s wrap this up.”

Joanne flipped her hair and was ready to call out Corsola for an attack, but Lilligant was so quick! Chryaisy seemed to move lightning fast across the battlefield, Corsola and Joanne watched in awe at the grass Pokemon’s awesome stealth. The petals on Lilligant’s head began glowing and a green aura seeped out of them, it slowly began wrapping around Corsola and engulfed it in a sphere of Earth energy. The mystic energy began sucking the life out of the coral Pokemon and when Joanne looked up, in astonishment, Lilligant had looked good as new, without a scratch on her. Corsola fell over, there was no coming back from that. “Dang! Your Pokemon are stronger than I thought. Go, Granbull!” A large doggo erupted from the ball, it snarled its teeth and let out a big ol’ bork.

It was no doubt to Alex that the Corsola would be an easy win with his grass type. The bobbing coral Pokemon was soon defeated from a single blow of Chryaisy's GIga Drain. The next Pokemon that the opponent sent out wasn't what Alex was expecting though. A Granbull. "I don't know why I thought you would be sending out a Persian or Roselia, but Chryaisy can handle this one. Use Giga Drain again!" He responded as the giant doge was sent out.

"Well, I do have three gym badges so I am stronger than people with less badges, right"" He then responded to something she said earlier, folding her arm and standing with his back straight. Smiling, he was satisfied that he got her attention about his strength, because most people probably think grass and bug types are weak.

Alex's calm retort instantly boiled her blood, a vein popping out of her temple and twitching. Her hand gripped her phone so tightly it's a miracle it didn't snap apart. The granbull she'd called as her next pokémon reflected her rage quite well, massive jaws snarling viciously with balled up fists pumped and ready to deliver a beating. It growled angrily, figuring Alex was doing something horrible to upset his trainer.
"Speed won't save that weed forever, Granbull won't go down so easily and we have a little something that'll take care of it. Wipe that smug grin off your face!" she yelled back at him, a hand going to brush back her hair as she smiled for the first time. "Go Granbull! Fire Fang."

As expected Chryaisy was swift on the uptake, glowing once again and sucking the life energy out of the brawler canine. Granbull was not a fan. He tried to resist, dropping to one knee near the end of the attack, but he wasn't out. With a battle cry Granbull recomposed himself and charged at Alex's Lilligant. He lunged forward and chomped down on the elegant pokémon, of who cried in pain as the fiery teeth erupted on her body, singing her plant body and causing quite a nasty burn. When Granbull let go and backed off Lilligant stumbled back and looked to be barely standing.

Beauty Joanne raised a hand in front of her face and began laughing as if she'd just won.

"Fine," Alex complied, then went to a smaller smile that wasn't a giant grin. He was still surprised from the Granbull, and was almost gasping when the giant Granbull used a Fire Fang. That attack would have taken his Llligant out. Then, his grass type was left with a painful burn, ouch. This wasn't the Pokemon he would expect to be armed with such a fiery passion for roasted rosemary. He would expect something like a Bite, or Crunch, but not instant herbal cooking skill. Now he would just have to finish up this battle and then heal up his Pokemon, if his Pokemon don't heal herself from Giga Drain already.

"Hang in there, Chryaisy! Use another Giga Drain!" He cheered his Pokemon. If the first Giga Drain took the energy out of the Grangull so quick that it was on knee and almost passed out, it shouldn't really survive this one. Though Alex was wondering when will he see this trainer's Furret.

Lowering her hand back down from her mouth after a victorious bout of laughter, unfortunately for Joanne, things just wouldn't be going her way today. At this point, it would've been best for the beauty to pack up her things, just go home and sit in front of the TV with a tub of delicious ice cream. Because if her Pokemon's haircuts weren't disappointing enough, the upcoming attack from Lilligant would be. "My Pokemon doesn't just have a pretty face." The girl smirked, Alex clearly surprised by her choice of moves. "My Granbull is prepared for any opponent and to top it off, is able to leave nasty little presents behind, too! I'm sure your Pokemon is in so much pain right now." Implying the present left by Granbull to be the burn, Chryaisy did portray a look of discomfort. "It wont be long now. I knew you couldn't out speed me forever!" Although she felt like she had won this match, she was about to be forced to eat her words.

Despite her lack of health and painful burn to top it off, Chryaisy was not about to give up. Focusing every bit of strength she could on the equally as weak Granbull, the plant princess used her powers to absorb the remaining life from the large dog, regaining her own health in return. Although the burn ran across her body once more, causing her to twitch in pain, the Granbull had suffered far more. Falling face first into the concrete ground, Joanne began to grind her teeth together. Her once seemingly cheerful attitude crashing straight back down again, very quickly. "Why.. You!!" Hissing under her breath, the girl withdrew her Pokemon and sent forward her third and final choice. "You. Have. Not. Won. Yet!!"

Alex shook his head when the opponent said about leaving presents behind, but then kept his smile as the Granbull was gone from the battle. Then, his opponent had switched to a Furret, at last! The haircut didn't look too bad! Alex tried to kept himself from grinning too much, and replied back to her. "Hang in there, Chryaisy, don't let the burn get to you and use Giga Drain once more! Yeah, I know I haven't won yet, because I finally get to see your Furret. Its haircut isn't that bad! It looked polished! What are you getting mad about? " He bent down his back a little as if examining the normal type Pokemon, trying to find the issue that this woman had with the Pokemon hairstylist.

"It looked okay to me honestly," he muttered once more, then straightened up his back as he watched the battle resume. He wasn't sure if this beauty queen was as bad as Silver, but at least she didn't call them useless or other degrading name, but their attitude toward perfection were just almost the same. Maybe she can teach Silver to have some respect on his Pokemon. He thought, thinking about the battle with him a couple days ago.

As the Furret came out of its Pokeball and small feet tapped against the concrete ground of the tunnel, the Beauty pulled the most puzzling expression. Holding back what seemed to be tears, her face was bright red, in a mixture of embarrassment and frustration and all of her features were tense and scowling. Sniffling her nose, the young woman tried to regain her composure, as the ears of the Furret pinned back against its head. Although Alex himself couldn't spot the problem with the cut, with a sudden stomp of her foot, the mere sight of the Furret had re lit the fire of anger and hatred within Joanne. "How can you NOT see that terrible work?!" Her voice shrieked, "My poor, poor Furret! Handled so terribly! Her fur was so perfect before, how dare they do such a horrendous job this time around?! I demand my money back.. I demand that my Pokemon are too look perfect!" Her pitch going higher and higher with the occasional scream added in, it was very obvious that she wasn't happy with the cut.

"Furret, use Sucker Punch! Knock all of these buffoons into next week!" Shaking her clenched fists up and down with each word, the Furret chirped in response and sprang forward. With a twist of its long body, the furry creature knocked Chryaisy right off her feet. Barely able to stand, the Lilligant survived with just a measly shred of health left but her next attack would hopefully draw some back to her. Focusing her Giga Drain at the Furret, the patchy Pokemon lost a great deal of health, some of it returning to the Lilligant. But the burn was still very much plaguing her so if Alex didn't want her to faint, he would have to play his next move very carefully.

A wrinkle appeared on Alex's head as he wasn't sure which strand of hair was imperfect. In a sea of hair, the imperfect one might be concealed by the other ones. He might need a microscopic pair of lenses to zoom in and MAYBE he'll see the terrible hair. He then watched as the opponent used Sucker Punch, which was a lightning attack. He also did not expect a Furreto have such a move. The opponent was full of surprises, but now that he had seen the Furret, perhaps it was her last Pokemon. Saving the best for the last, right?

He sighed and gave up trying to find the imperfect hair, as finishing up this battle maybe a better thing for him to do right now. He knew that his Lilligant may not be surviving the next move, and he decided to switch into a defensive this time. He called out, "You can do it, Chryaisy! Hang in there and use a Leech Seed!" If his Pokemon could not survive and finish this fight, at least his next Pokemon could benefit off of Leech Seed, if it hits. Sometimes the seeds malfunctioned or didn't even touch the opponent... Hopefully the Furret would look good in spring outfit, Alex thought.

“Dang, your Lilligant has some serious skills!” The trainer said, upset and astonished that this battle was so tough. Usually, Joanne was always the winner of the battles in the Underground Tunnel, but this trainer was certainly giving her a run for her money. Although this battle was certainly a tough one, Joanne wasn’t out for the count. Furret had some tricks up her sleeve and the beautiful trainer was certainly going to use them.

Chryaisy’s speed boost obviously was going to allow it to move quicker once more. The large flower spurted out several seeds onto the opponent, which released a series of vines that would sap the foe’s power for the remainder of the battle. “Furret, use your slam attack!” The Furret’s long body hiked across the battlefield, slamming itself into the flower. The grass type Pokemon was down for the count, and Furret was quite pleased with itself. Chryaisy had fought long and hard, but coupled with a sick burn, there was no way it could keep up the strength to battle. The long, silk scarf on Furret boosted it’s power to ensure a glorious win for this round of the battle. “Good job!” Joanne cooed at her opponent, happy that the flower was gone. Although normally the seeds would leech the health from Furret at this point, with no Pokemon on the receiving side of the energy, it didn’t activate.

If his Lilligant wasn't burnt and the Furret didn't reveal itself to know the move Sucker Punch, Alex would be more likely to take advantage of his Pokemon's speed from the Quiver Dance to take advantage of the higher speed. After learning the Sucker Punch though, he figured that his next Pokemon could benefit from the stealthy health regeneration provided from the Leech Seed. Although Chryaisy had put up a great fight against the Corsola and Granbull, the Furret was tougher than Alex had thought. He thanked the grass type for its hard work, and returned the fainted flower back to its Pokeball.

"Oh well," he shrugged after the Lilligant was returned. "I fainted two of your Pokemon for you to faint one of mine. Come on out, Saurobix, use Razor Leaf!" He tossed out his Pokeball and sent out another flowery Pokemon, well this one was budding. His Ivysaur was actually weaker than the Lilligant, but he was hoping he would pull through this battle. He was slightly sorry that the leech seed might have ruffled the Furret's "imperfect" hair.

[Dan]

Joanne let out a large groan. Ivysaur was so powerful for the level of Pokemon competing at the moment. This Pokemon was given to new trainers to protect them, so of course it would be super powerful. She knew, realistically, it wasn’t looking good for her and Furret. The vines were still wrapped around the normal typed little ferret, sucking the life slowly out of the quick little thing. Although, on the other hand, she knew that her Furret had a high level and some powerful attacks. Sweat began to drip from her forehead; this was so intense!

“Just give up now! You’re not going to win, just ask any trainer in the tunnel. They all know that I’m the number one battler around these parts!” She said, hoping that she could intimidate Alex. “Furret, use slam!” Once again, Furret launched towards the grass dino. The silk scarf really boosted the effects on Furret’s normal type moves. Although the attack was very powerful, it wasn’t enough. Saurobix launched out his leaves, which sliced the Furret a little bit, but nothing too extreme. Joanne was about to sigh in relief, but a loud ZAP happened. Leech seed activated, sucking the remaining life out of the poor Furret.

“WHAT?!” She screamed after her Furret fell to floor, passed out from exhaustion due to the intense battle with Alex and his grass Pokemons. “You’re kidding me! I-I’m the best trainer around! How could I lose to you?!!?!?!?” She shook her head in disbelief. “Ugh. Whatever. I guess here’s your prize.” She rummaged around in her purse for the cash and prizes. “Here.” She said, shoving the items in Alex’s hands. Off she ran to heal her Pokemon, her kitten heels could be heard clacking as she ran out of the tunnel and back into the streets of Goldenrod.
