After an excursion being embroiled in a warring drama at Sprout Tower, Remi had sadly not got any further in establishing any recognition of the stolen Pokemon that she had received. It didn't seem as if any trainers were putting up posters or crying out about their loss. Undeterred, she decided to venture on the outskirts of Violet City to some of the surrounding locales in the event she missed something on the way over. Switching up her party at the nearby Pokemon Centre, she decided to head towards a rather unique looking cave entrance. Standing before it, she placed a contemplative hand on the tip of her chin. " I seem to recall someone mentioning about a famous cave next to Violet. I suppose we should explore! It'll make a nice change of pace, right Gex?" Smiling cheerfully at her trusted partner, the Pokemon nodded his head. Stepping in without seeing the sign which had been taken over by vegetation, it wasn't long before she realised this was a cave unlike any other. " It's rather dark in here isn't it?" Turning around to hopefully see the light from the entrance from whence she came, she let out a startled gasp as it seemed she had been fully engulfed by the darkness. " G-Gex?" Stammering a little, she looked around to no avail in finding her partner Pokemon. It was only when a scaly hand grabbed hers did she feel a little bolstered. " T-Thank you... We need to stick together." A little unnerved, it bought her back to an event some time ago in the Goldenrod sewers. But thinking of that would have to wait for some other time. Last thing she needed was being spooked by some past ordeal. " How is it so dark? We can't see anything." As true as it was, poor Gex was wearing shades so was no doubt even more blinded by this impenetrable blackness. Trying to think calmly, her mind fell on what Elder Li of Sprout Tower had told her when he gifted her a TM. " Of course! That TM... If we can just get a Pokemon to make use of it. Gex, stay put. I'm going to hopefully teach a Pokemon..." Taking off her bag and beginning to rummage through, she found the TM rather easily being at the top of the bag from having received it only recently. " Now for a Pokemon. Any will have to do." Grabbing the disc and inserting it into the middle groove of the Pokeball, it let out a confirmation chime. " I hope this works, I don't even know who learnt this!" Summoning the Pokemon, a small burst of light blinded them but wasn't enough to notify her of the Pokemon she had chosen. " Umm... Hello! Whoever you are... Could you please use Flash?" Hoping it would work, a sudden bright expulsion of light emanated from the Pokemon. Fighting off some of the darkness, they could at least see the vicinity around them. A radiant glow dazzling from a necklace gem, Remi looked at the Pokemon to see it was Malice. One of the stolen Pokemon she had received. About to greet her properly, the Pokemon let out a terrified shriek. The sudden revelation of sight in front of them had scared the already terrified ghost to the point of panic. " Oh! Oh, oh, no, Malice! It's me... Remi! Please, calm down." Holding out a hand, she forgot Malice was a ghost type and startled slightly when her hand went through the ethereal creature. " It's okay, shh..." Calming the Pokemon down, Malice jittered nervously but was at least in a better state. " You really are a scaredy cat, aren't you?" Brushing it off, Remi presented her with a warm smile but even she faltered when a nearby noise caught her attention. " G-Gex? Did you... Hear that?" OOC: Remi teaches Flash to Malice, forgets Growl.

As Remi struggled in the darkness to try and teach one of her Pokemon a helpful attack, it turned out that the Flash TM she had acquired worked on the random choice. Emerging from the ball was the nervous Misdreavus, Malice, who shook in fear as the light radiating from her necklace cast a creepy shadow over both Remi and Gex. But she was soon calmed by the gentle voice of Remi, although, the things that lived within the Dark Cave were no where near as soft. Born and raised in the darkness, surrounded by tunnels upon tunnels of rocky walls and stalagmites, when there was an unusual presence, every creature who lived within the cave were bound to tell. But the light which now shone from Malice well and truly gave away their position and it had attracted the attention of the cave dwellers.
The sound of stones and rock smashing and clipping against one another were magnified in the cave but what was even worse was that the noise was growing louder, closing in on Remi and her Pokemon. It was bound to be something huge and terrifying, the mere thought causing Malice to fall into a shaking, nervous wreck. Stomp. Stomp. STOMP. With a turn of his head, Gex, whilst still wearing his trusty shades, managed to pin point the cause of the sound. Casting her light accidentally, Malice flinched her eyes shut at the sight of an unknown Pokemon dragging itself towards them. An armed boulder, the creature was none other than a Geodude. It wore an angry expression as it drew closer, perhaps it was best to fight it off before it starting throwing rocks at Remi to shoo her off.

Trying to hone her ears on the odd sound off in the distance, the rookie trainer was calmed somewhat as it seemed Gex definitely picked up on the sound as well. Malice on the other hand was still all too timid and hid behind the side of Remi's leg. "I guess Pokémon must live in these caves?" Hoping it would be just Pokémon and not anything else, she jumped slightly as she heard a tumble of rocks sound off closer to them. Managing to refrain from screaming out loud, she had to try and reign herself in mentally. "Ahhhh! No... Keep calm. It's just a Pokémon... " Brushing it off, she called out. "Hello?" Eventually coming into view, she noted an odd looking boulder sporting a pair of arms. "That Pokémon...! That's a... Ooooh." Pausing, she went to reach for her card necklace. It was one she had in her collection but with how dark it was, there was no point in assessing her cards.
Snapped back to reality of the situation by Malice's panicking, Remi knew she had to act. "Gex, please make sure that Pokémon stops intimidating Malice!" Watching as Gex failed to do anything, she leaned forward to quiz if he was alright. "Gex? Oh... Your shades. Right, well. I can't ask you to take them off." Knowing how much the reptile prized them, it meant they would have to rely on another member of the team. "I shall try a new member to our group. Go, Ophelia!" Hoping she had picked the right device, she was buoyed as the diminutive fairy popped out. "Ophelia, please use Confusion on that Geodude. We need to reassure Malice we're not going to be scared about in here." Having battled with this Ralts in their encounter, she was certain she had a handle on what moves it had in its arsenal. So far this attempt at coming off as confident and reassuring was going alright. With any luck Malice would come round with such influence in place. She just needed to keep her mind off what happened in her childhood back in those dark underground sewers.
OOC: Sending in Ophelia and using Confusion.

The rocky cavern really accentuated Geodude’s rocky features quite well; the stones seemed endless in the once dark cave and somehow Geodude had adapted to seeing in the dark quite skillfully. It had seemed that a battle was about to commence. This human seemed to have many Pokemon at her disposal, each with their own unique and rare moves and abilities. Geodude had lived in this dank cave all of its life, so many of these Pokemon were quite unfamiliar to it.
A most interesting Pokemon came from a Pokeball; a white looking robe topped with two red horns perhaps? This Pokemon seemed quite rare, Geodude could barely even guess which type this Pokemon was. Ralts’s body seemed to become much more dense, there was something about it that seemed different. Of course it was Ophelia’s ability Trace which had copied Geodude’s ability, which was Sturdy.
The human called an attack and the psychic foe let out some sort of invisible ray which seemed harmless at first but then gave Geodude a most frightening headache. Geodude was quite shocked to learn that this must be a psychic type Pokemon, but there was no time for inner monologues. The rock Pokemon used Rock Polish, making the stones of its body very sleek and shiny. The Pokemon could now move about the cave much faster than before and look good doing so. Battle

((OOC I didn't know what to do for Ralts's ability trace so I just chose Sturdy for the ability? ))

As much of an amateur as she was, even Remi could pick up on the fact Ophelia was looking quite stoic. Almost as if it had somehow copied the sturdy physique of the Pokemon it was facing. Not letting the Pokemon's rowdiness get in the way of putting itself of, Ophelia concentrated her innate psychic powers and began to make the Geodude's mind a swirling haze of confusion as the very world around it seemed to fold in on itself. The Geodude staggering backwards visibly from the blow, Remi nodded her head. "Yes! It seemed like that was enough to make it ease off some. Maybe now we can-" Cut off mid sentence. The Geodude came back to its senses. No real surprise given the taste of confusion was fleeting at best.
Beginning to rub itself down, the Pokemon began to gleam with an incredible polish, one which was only reflected off around the cave as Malice nervously peeped from around Remi's leg. "Oh my! It looks ever so powered up...! This could mean trouble. I don't want any of you getting in harm's way and considering how boisterous this Pokemon was... Oh!" Having reached into her bag as she pulled out a capture device, she primed it before looking at it and then up to the unknown Pokemon. "Here goes! Hopefully this will calm you down." Tossing it forward nervously, she was sure this Pokemon could cause some problems if left unchecked.

Smooth and ready to roll, the already intimidating looking Geodude now looked ready to pack quite the punch. Ophelia's attack had been affective and if Remi chose to repeat the previous move, could prove to be useful. But with the current state of Geodude, the next attack would've been very different to the first, at the same time. All polished, the Geodude looked as if it could slip across this cavernous floor like a fish through water and for the blue haired trainer, it simply wasn't worth the risk. Her other Pokemon, Malice, was particularly spooked as it was. The last thing she wanted was for Ophelia to be dealt some serious harm, bringing the Misdreavus into a state of further panic. No, Remi needed to remain calm, cool and collected, which is exactly what she did. Picking an empty Pokeball out from her bag of items, she had chosen to attempt to capture the slick boulder. It's eyes leering directly at her, the Geodude wasn't entirely aware of what the human was planning, it wasn't often that many passed through this cave, after all. But with a pull back of her arm, the young woman tossed it forward, hoping to end this encounter peacefully.

Anxious as to the result, Remi could breath a sigh of relief as the Pokeball appeared to resonate with the successful sound of a capture. "Oh goodness, i'm glad that concluded with no problems. Perhaps these caves aren't as safe as I first thought..." Placing a contemplative hand delicately on the end of her chin, she was tempted to split off back to the exit. The fearful Misdreavus clinging to her sides was certainly an influence in doing so. But as she looked over to Gex who was still wearing his shades and seeming nonetheless unphased by the cave itself, she felt somewhat bolstered. But that wasn't the only Pokemon she had out in play, looking around, she noticed Ophelia had wandered off just outside of the light's embrace and was fidgeting with something. "Come now Ophelia, let's keep together. If we start going our own separate ways, it's only going to cause problems."
Deciding to move over to get the Pokeball, she headed on nearer to Ophelia, causing Malice to shriek briefly noticing her caretaker had moved. Gliding on over to keep close, she didn't have to go far as Remi retrieved the ball. "I shall have to see if any confident trainer may want this Pokemon. It might be too much a handful for someone like me at this time... Hey. Ophelia? Come on sweetie." Realising Ophelia was still distracted, the inclusion of some of Malice's light on the matter meant Remi was able to see what the Ralts was playing with. "What is that...? Is that... Mistletoe?" Confused by such an item being present within the cave, before she could ponder any further. The sound of another cry echoed from the darkness kept at bay by their light. "Ooooh!!" Causing Remi to jump, it was a most peculiar cry.

Remi’s band of misfits could be heard throughout the cave, all of the Mawile, Dunsparce, Bronzor, etc. could hear their loud voices as they echoed off the rocky innards of the cave. Most of the Pokemon ignored their voices, some even ran away from them, not wanting to be disturbed. The mistletoe conjured a Yule-time enchantment that garnered attention from only one type of Pokemon in the cave. A blue Pokemon was looking at itself in a puddle when a jingle-like melody wafted into its ears. What could be making this noise? The sound drowned out the voices of Remi and her Pokemon, Wynaut could only hear a string of bells chiming on the wind.
Following the tune, Wynaut walked almost zombie-like towards the center of attention. What was this noise?! Wynaut began moaning and screeching to try and find it, why was it reacting so weird to this foreign substance?! It sounded like nothing that Wynaut had ever heard before. The bright Pokemon was getting closer and closer to where the sound was emitting from and then it saw Remi and her Pokemon. Startled to find a whole party here, Wynaut panicked! It didn’t know this was a trap! A weird reaction took over Wynaut’s body and it leaped at Ralts and swallowed the Mistletoe whole. Why? Who knows. Time for battle!!!!!!
Wynaut (level 15) wants to battle!

Still trying to work out the source of the cry, their group wouldn't have to wait too much longer as the owner of the cry made its presence known. Attracted by the festive item Ophelia had been messing with, it jumped from out of the shadows and gave all of Remi's team a good scare. Even Gex was caught off guard. Freezing to the spot, he merely adjusted his shades as the fright had let them slip to the end of his snout. Ophelia was perhaps most terrified. Instantly teleporting back into its Pokeball, Remi felt a jangle of the Ralts' Pokeball as she returned to safety. " Ahhhhhh!!" Cried Remi. It was scary enough having stone bodied monsters threatening then let alone some... Before she could continue her thought any further, she gazed upon the new found creature and smiled warmly. " Awwww. What a cute little rascal." Bowing her head, she then waved at it. " Hello there little one." Not quite realising this was a rare denizen of the cave, Remi was hoping to work out what exactly this Pokemon was. " Hold on one moment please." Having never come across a Pokemon like that in her card deck, she fell instead to her Pokedex to ascertain what it was. Booting it up and letting it scan the Pokemon, the electronic knowledge base began to shed some light on the situation. --Wynaut-- The Bright Pokémon. Psychic Type. Wynaut can always be seen with a big, happy smile on its face. Look at its tail to determine if it is angry. When angered, this Pokémon will be slapping the ground with its tail. It tends to move in a pack with others. They cluster in a tight group to sleep in a cave. Letting the Pokedex shut down, she pocketed it away as she carefully memorised its name. " Wynaut? What a funny little Pokemon. Are you all by yourself?" As she looked up from her Pokedex, she realised it had become remarkably dim. In fact, it had become so dim it was almost as if they were plunged back into the darkness. As such, she was unable to see where the Wynaut was, or anyone else in her team for that matter. " Oh goodness. Gex? Wynaut? Malice? Anyone? Hello?" The reason for the sudden lack of lighting was because of Malice. Or rather, her disappearance. By rights, Malice was a Pokemon which disliked the company of others, preferring solitary. Whether this was down to it being afraid of others or having a troubled past was indeterminable at this point. But having been given such a fright by the Wynaut's appearance and having not fed itself in days, it meant things were now ripe for a change. Having disappeared into the darkness, Malice had blended with the shadows, sneaking around to the back of the Wynaut, poised ready to Astonish the cheery Pokemon they had just met. For this ghost, it was feeding time. " Malice? I know it's tough for you but could you please turn the lights back-" OOC:
Sending in Malice who uses Astonish.

Wynaut gobbled up the mistletoe, the lovely chimes dulling and finally coming to an end to the wild pokémon's dismay. Now it had lost the interesting melody AND was surrounded by a trainer and her trusty team of tamed pokémon. Luckily the baby wobbuffet had scared off some of them, but the trainer still stood strong, pulling out a device. Wynaut screeched in discomfort, ready to repel whatever came, but what ended up coming was something it didn't know how to contend with. The area went dark. But not just the normal cave dark, it was blackness. A sheet of eerie black that even wynaut's well attuned eyes couldn't pierce through to find a shape. The little pokémon looked side to side, up and down. Nothing. And every creeping moment sent a quiver down its short spine; until finally it came. A harrowing shriek erupted at Wynaut's back, the little blue psychic jumping into the air tail erect and releasing a yelp of its own. Wynaut didn't look back even as the darkness seemed to lift a little. Instead it went rigid, as if standing perfectly still would protect it from its spooker stalker. A gleam of dim energy swept across Wynaut's figure but nothing appeared to happen beyond that before the bright pokémon finally turned to try and spot its ghostly assailant. Wild Battle

Cut off as she could her some noises in the darkness, Remi stood still in order to not get caught up in any of the unfolding chaos. With Malice now missing in action, it meant they were quite literally blind. However before she could try and attune to the unsettling darkness, a sudden terrifying shriek almost made her burst out of her skin. Jumping on the spot and somewhat glad others couldn't see how startled she was, it seemed as if Malice had successfully landed her attack. What's more was that the light had returned in thanks to the ghost's reappearance. " O-oh! There you are Malice! Please don't do that again... That really scared me!" Looking at the Wynaut, she could tell it was affected too but what was curious, it seemed unable to attack back or rather the attack had failed. " Maybe... Was that an attack? Hmm. I wonder if our Pokedex's move function can assist." Pointing it towards Malice, it was quick to verify the move she had just performed. --Astonish-- Physical Attack. Ghost Type. The user attacks the target while shouting in a startling fashion. This may also make the target flinch. Putting away the Pokedex for good now, she had learnt quite a bit of information not only of Pokemon foreign to her but also the capability of her own team. " Astonish, hm?" Thinking back to the type effectiveness chart she had memorised in Earl's Academy, it made sense a Ghost type move would be super effective on a Psychic type. " I suppose we should be grateful we have an advantage." Looking over at Malice, Remi pondered for a few moment's more. The Pokemon was usually quite timid, even ephemeral but having just scared all of them witless, it seemed to be the jump scare had nourished the ethereal creature. " I wonder..." She trailed off. Out of all the Pokemon she had looked after, the Misdreavus had never eaten. Perhaps this was her way of nourishment, feeding off their collective fear. Deciding to take charge and look after the Pokemon she was caretaking, she nodded her head. " Malice! Use Astonish again!" Hopefully this time she could at least brace herself for the next scare shock. OOC:
Malice uses another Astonish. This time ordered by Remi now she's wising up haha.

Using the knowledge she had gained during her time at Earl's Academy in Violet City, Remi was able to understand the ways of Pokemon battling that bit more. As well as her own fright, the shriek from Malice had frightened the energetic Wynaut, causing her to believe that it was an attack rather than a fearful scream. Double checking her theory with the use of her Pokedex, Remi had guessed correctly. Atleast Malice was able to defend herself and gain something from attacking, the poor spirit was so timid that even spooking the opponent didn't really ease her own fear. Floating on the spot, with a gentle light still emitting from the beads around her neck, the Misdreavus eyed the Wynaut, who had fallen into a bit of frustration with its previous attack failing.
Wobbling from side to side, the dopey grin spread across its face made it seem less threatening but the Wynaut was actually trying to think of a way out of this. It had eaten the mistletoe, so perhaps it was time to scram! But Remi was one step ahead. Learning a bit more about Malice and the type of attacks she used, the blue haired trainer gave her order and wearily, Malice followed through. Floating on the same spot, the Misdreavus looked as if she had ignored Remi's order but truthfully, she was waiting to catch the Wynaut off guard. With a sudden turn, Malice let out yet another, goosebump raising scream, causing the Wynaut to jump right off the very ground! So stunned by the sudden cry, the Wynaut was too busy calming its beating heart to even think about attacking back.

This time around a lot more prepared for what was in store, Remi braced herself as best she could but was lulled into a false sense of security as it appeared Malice didn't respond to her orders. "...Malice? Are you the-AIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEE!" Letting out a high pitched scream, the sudden reappearance of Malice next to the Wynaut along with the blood curdling scream the ghost had made was enough to shatter whatever flimsy bravery she had managed to conjure. Not only had Remi suffered a near heart attack but it was quite evident from the Wynaut's lack of a reprisal that it too had decided to take the round out in order to recollect its frayed nerves. Panting slightly, Remi attempted to calm herself down. "I had no idea you were so frightful Malice. You always seem so reserved and shy!" True as it was, it seemed Malice had two sides to her personality. It just so happened she was starving and these Pokémon and trainer were providing an all you can eat buffet for her to nourish on. Floating mid air as she consumed all the fearful vibes that were hanging on the atmosphere, it seemed as if Malice had finally had her fill.
Letting out a contented sigh, she lazily floated back over to Remi and seemed to revert back to her shy state. Nestling behind her leg, it was quite crazy how easy it was to go between the two. "Oh? Are you full? Well... As scary as it all was, i'm glad we could help you enjoy some food." Letting out a relieved sigh, Remi averted her eyes away awkwardly, hoping that feeding session would last for some time. Her gaze dropping onto the Wynaut, she pulled a concerned face and realised the poor creature had not only been invited her on false pretences but had been scared witless. "Hello? Wynaut? What would you say to becoming our friends? Don't worry, we won't have to do that again. But thank you for your assistance." Bowing her head, she looked back up. "If you come with us, i'd be grateful if you could show us around these caves?" Pulling out a blue and red capture device, a Greatball, she hoped the design would tempt the Pokémon. "Here, i'll just throw this and all you have to do is join us. Please?" Tossing it forward, she hoped the wild creature would consider.

Having her fill of the fear of others, Malice shuddered ever so slightly, pretty fearful herself. The nervous ghoul was a timid sort, which was surprising considering she was the one causing most of the scares. It was especially effective in a dark cave like this. At times, her flash would stop, allowing her to use a different attack. So not only was the shriek startling but it was also done in the pitch black! Rolling its head from side to side, the tiny Wynaut was becoming a little more nervous. So far, none of its attacks had worked and if this carried on, there would be no way for it to win. But then, the blue haired woman stepped forward.
Professing her gratitude to the Wynaut and apologising for the scares, she offered it the chance to join them. Uncertain, humans weren't a common sight in Dark Cave and thus, the wild Pokemon wasn't sure if she could be trusted. But as the Greatball was thrown, only time would tell if the mechanisms would keep it in place or if the Wynaut would join her team on its own accord.

Hoping her earnest plea for the wild creature of the caves to join them would be enough, Remi held both her hands close in front of her chest as she observed the unfolding capture. Even with a bit more experience on her side it was still a nerve racking event in capturing a new Pokémon. Or rather, as she saw it, befriending. Whilst they were being a sealed away in the spherical capture devices, a process that some people in the world was tantamount to slavery, Remi preferred to see it as a manifestation of the newly forged bonds between trainer and Pokémon. It wasn't a negative act at all but rather one that should be celebrated if the capture was successful. By giving in and allowing themselves to be captured, it showed the Pokémon was willing to accept the trainer's striking up of a bond. "Ooooooh. I hope the Wynaut doesn't hold it against us over all those frightful jumps and scares." Murmured Remi worryingly to herself. She had meant everything in her offer to the Wynaut but she could understand if the Pokémon had reservations. Being constantly scared stiff wasn't the best way to start off a friendship.
Turning her attention to Malice whilst the Greatball itself wriggled back and forth on the cave floor, the trainer was pleased to see the ghostly apparition had a look of contentment on her expression. With one less concern to worry about, it meant it would all rest on whether the Wynaut would be okay with live and let live. Malice would keep to herself and more than likely starve herself before having to feast again on people's fears. Thankfully the Wynaut was of an easy going behaviour. Complying with the capture, it allowed the capture device to finish off its registration meaning Remi was the new owner of a rare species that lurked within the caves. "Oh? It accepted our friendship? Hooray." Clapping her hands, she moved on over swiftly and picked up the Greatball in order to summon the Pokémon forward. "Hello, hello. Thank you for becoming our friend." Bowing her head, Gex coolly adjusted his specs in greeting. Even Malice had popped over, assuming her favourite hiding space behind Remi's legs but sweetly called out as if to show its gratitude for the meal.
"I'm sure we can all get a long just fine. What sort of name can we give you...? Oh!" Taking stock of the infant Wobbuffet's appearance, she was a little alarmed to see the Pokémon had two little dents on its cranium. It didn't appear to impact the Pokémon's ability to function but it was different from what she had viewed in the stock Pokedex display image. "Oh my, those two dents... You poor, poor thing." Crouching down and patting its head, it seemed as if she had found a suitable nickname as the Wynaut reacted with a chuckle to her saying two dents. "Two dents? Oh, but that's too long. What about 2D?" Bouncing up and down and clapping its flailing arms together it appeared the Pokémon had decided for itself on the nickname it wanted. "2D it is then. What an unusual name." Spoke Remi as she smiled softly. "Now, I suppose we should have a little explore around before we take our leave. I was hoping to perhaps bump into a trainer or someone here in order to see if they knew of any stolen Pokémon... Come on gang." Leading the way, the ensemble moved deeper into the cave.
