Bane walked out of New Bark Town with his new pokeball and waited till he was alone before throwing it to the ground. The pokeball opened up letting out a pokemon with a brown shell and a blue body. "Squirtle!" It called out with a smile making Bane give it a look. "Your the pokemon...bit small aren't you?" With that said the Squirtle then tackled straight at bane hitting his leg "Squirtle!!!". Bane fell to his knees and stared right at the Squirtle who stared right back. Bane then began to laugh with a smile before patting the Squirtle on the head. "Not bad, you might be small but you have potential...i like that"

"Squirtle!" The Squirtle then began to tug at Bane's coat. "What you like my coat?" "Squirtle! Squirtle!" "Then how about when we get to Cherrygrove we go get you your own. Sound good?" "Squirtle!" The Squirtle then punched bane as to say yes making Bane laugh.  "Right your name, shall be Mizu.Now how about we go and test your strength correctly?" The Squirtle nodded at its new name before Bane stood up and cracked his neck a little which Mizu copied. Bane noticed this and smirked realising Mizu liked him and was trying to be him. But with the meeting done both headed into the nearest patch of grass to find a Pokemon.

[The REAL Joey]

Having done the old meet and greet with his newly acquired Pokémon, it was clear before they could fully get down to business, they would need to get Mizu a replica coat to the one Bane wore. Already starting to mimic the actions of its trainer, there was no doubt these two would become a fearsome fighting force by the time they had fully bonded. To start them off, they would have a chance encounter with a rare Pokémon. It wasn't rare in the sense it was impossible to find. It was impossible in the way that it bore a highly rare pigmentation of its feathers. As the hulking Bane stepped into the grass, he had unwittingly stepped into an area which this avian had claimed for itself. Not usually territorial, the Pokémon had become so after being chased by many a trainer for its elusive colouring.

Swooping from a branch with a golden blur, it almost made an attack at Bane but moved away last moment as it noticed there was a Squirtle about as well. Having eluded capture for so long, it was obvious the Pokémon was by no means stupid. It had used its cunning and guile to always escape on to live another day. If it had just been Bane on his own, he could've hopefully scared him off but now there was a Pokémon in the equation, it had needlessly complicated things. Returning to its branch, it let out a hostile, shrill cry as if to warn them to get lost. It was now up to the trainer on whether he wanted to coach his Squirtle on going all out or perhaps capture the Pokémon for its valuable worth.

Bane looked as something caight his eye smand spotted the hoothoot. This made bane smirk as he noticed its different colour. "Alright mizu time for you to go all out! Tackle Now!" With thatorder Mizu did as he was told ready to fight. Bane knew what he was doing, let mizu go all out. And then when the time is right, throw a pokeball and possibly sell it off. Of cource it depended if the hoothoot fought well or not.

[Lamont]

The owl eyed the pair, big red orbs staring down from the branch like giant rubies in a golden sea. The sun caught its bright feathers sharply, making the Hoothoot shimmer as it dropped down from the trees in order to properly defend its territory. The avian cooed once again, fluffing up and fanning its wings with a couple of rushed flutters. But the intimidation attempt didn't faze the brave turtle and his burly companion.

Mizu kicked off, a tuft of grass ripping from the ground in the squirtle's wake. Hoothoot huffed, switching the leg it was stabilizing itself, as the tiny turtle came forward. The mini-bane angled to the side, dipping down as he approached, and bashed into the bird with a shoulder check. Hoothoot cried in frustration as it was knocked backward, instantly jumping back onto its one foot. With a harsh glare the owl growled menacingly, a rageful sound tickling the squirtle to the core. Mizu certainly wasn't afraid of much, but there was something in that tone that made the Hoothoot seem more dangerous.

Bane noticed what that cry did to Mizu and looked at Mizu seriously. "Don't let them intimidate you! Fearing people makes you weak. Remember that. Now tackle them again!" Bane said before Mizu took in what Bane said and went for a tackle once more. Bane knew that 'attack' of the hoothoot's was only that of a growl. However, if bane didn't teach him from the little things then how would his pokemon ever learn. Later on he would teach mizu how fear can you stronger. But not until he saw it was time. And now wasn't the time.

[Lamont]

This just wasn't working at all. Not only were these noisy intruders unfazed by Hoothoot's warning earlier, but now they were shrugging off its warning growl. What would it take to get this trainer and his mini-me turtle to leave Hoothoot in peace? The owl fluffed up its feathers in agitation as it continued to stare down at the young squirtle. Mizu was listening to every word his new idol spoke. Taking in the wisdom and aiming to do his best to please Bane. He couldn't disappoint in their first battle!

Mizu took a deep breath, eyes locking onto his target, then set off again. Hoothoot switched legs once again and cooed. It blinked once then began intently staring down at the approaching turtle. Those big eyes were hard to ignore. Red gems boring into Mizu's soul. They were unsettling... A flash erupted from Hoothoot's eyes, pulsing circles of misty color shot forth. The water pokémon, startled, panicked and tried to divert his eyes but it was just barely too late. The first rounds of hypnosis sat in his mind even once he closed his eyes and a weariness took over. Still running, Mizu staggered and fell forward as all motor functions were swept away with sleep, skidding to a halt just before the golden Hoothoot.

The wild pokémon hooted triumphantly, switching legs yet again and smoothing out its feathers. Perhaps now this would convince this stubborn trainer to leave its territory.

Bane let out an annoyed sigh as hoothoot pulled out a move he did not expect. "you want to put my pokemon to sleep do you?" Bane said taking a step closer to the hoothoot. "Well guess what little bird. Whether you like or not you ARE going with ME. you were starting to impress me but putting my pokemon to sleep,well, thats a cowards move. And coward moves PISSES me off....." Bane stated, as he got out a great ball from his pocket before throwing it at the hoothoot. After that Bane picked up Mizu, knowing that ball had to of caught the hoothoot.

[Midnightive]

Hoothoots head cocked to the side when Bane, said he wasn't impressed with the Pokemons attack. "Hoot, hoot? Hoot" it cooed. But not much happened before bane had thrown a Greatball, a red beam engulfed the shiny Pokemon. Before being taken inside it, the Hoothoot was angry this was happening it still wanted to show how much it had to give. To be a part of Banes team.

But no, it shook once. It shook twice. It shook a third time and went silent. Bane was correct, he had got the Pokemon. Thought Mizu was still fast asleep, there was a good chance it would wake up for the next battle. But right now Mizu was forming a nice snot ball formed above it's nose as it started to snore softly.

Mizu slept well in battle.
Mizu gained 2 levels making them level 7 .

Bane watched as the ball captured the Hoothoot and nodded. "Just as I thought" he then picked up the great ball before throwing it, letting the hoothoot out. It cooed s bane looked at it. "You....have one chance to prove yourself to me. you shall fight the next pokemon we find....win and impress me you'll be in my team. Lose however and I sell you off. Understand?" The hoothoot nodded a little scared with bane's tone as he spoke. "Good. now lets go find a pokemon" Bane then started walking looking for another pokemon to fight as he let Mizu rest in his arms for now. He hoped one of his pokemon would provide an amusing fight for him before cherrygrove otherwise someone would be getting a punch the face.

OOC: put the hoot in bane's team for now. keeping it untouched till the end of the next battle, letting the outcome of that decide if the pokemon will stay wiht bane or not. :3

Having just captured a shiny Hoothoot Bane set forward a challenge to it to prove it's worth. With the fear of god instilled in it's mind the owl knew it had to do well or else it risked getting punched in the face. As scared for its life as it was the Pokemon who would pop out next would just add to the craziness of the situation. A wild Hoothoot came out of a patch of grass looking at it with great curiosity as a shiny Hoothoot was not a very common sight. The two owls looked at one another for a few moments awkwardly wondering what would happen next as neither wanted to do anything stupid that would set Bane off but at the same time neither was a huge fan of causing harm to one another. After a few minutes of standing around however it was clear a battle would be the only way one of them could avoid Bane's wrath.

The only question is who would end up making the first move. As they were both equal leveled neither had an advantage in any category and getting the jump on the other one might just prove the deciding factor in this match. The other question was would either Owl live to see another day once the battle was over as this battle was likely to take some time to sort out and Bane did not seem like the patient person. There was also the small chance that Bane would opt to select another one of his Pokemon instead however regardless of his choice in Pokemon there was no escaping until Hoothoot was defeated.

Bane watched as a hoothoot showed itself. Bane nooded to himself then knowing this would be a great way for the hoothoot to prove themselfs. However the hoothoot didn't do much not even attack. Bane sighed at this, "what the hell you waiting for?! Attack!" That made the shiny hoothoot flinch a little and sent an apologetic look to thier hoothoot brethren before going for a tackle. Bane just watched a small smirk under his mask mizu still in his arms asleep. Bane didn't seem to care though knowing mizu could not help it. Bane would have to get some awakings or something from the pokemart in cherrygrove, his home.

Battle!

Never in it's life did Hoothoot think his brethren would betray it. It thought maybe the other Hoothoot would refuse to attack, and it would have a challenge versus something that he wasn't so familiar with. The other Hoothoot clearly not sure what to do, the Hoothoot let out a loud growling chirp that caused the other Hoothoot to shiver slightly. But though its attack went down, Hoothoot was sure that there was something this bird was even more afraid of.

It became clear when the human behind the other bird shouted something, kicking the other bird into immediate frenzied action. It nervously approached, and Hoothoot could not move out of the way before the other one came barreling into it, knocking both balls of feathers every which way.

Bane nodded as the hoothoot attacked one of it's own. the hoothoot waited for it's next order, knowing it had to follow it. "alright use tackle again!" hoothoot flinched a little at his voice before charging at the hoothoot. it didn't want to do this and they hoped the other hoothoot would understand.

[Lamont]

As the rounded bird righted itself back onto one of its legs the big red orbs that were it's eyes trailed up to the big brute standing behind Hoothoot's shiny friend. It cooed in agitation, feathers ruffling from their previously smooth position. It wasn't liking this at all. The reason its golden ally had turned was clear, of course, any pokémon fallen slave to a trainer was bound to due the human's bidding. But this guy was intense. Tall and foreboding the dark clad figure was a mountain in comparison to the little critters fighting in the grass. The wild hoothoot pitied the other, but it wasn't about to stop defending itself.

The human bellowed another attack in that echoed voice and this time Shiny Hoothoot skipped into action a bit quicker. Silent tears burned at the corners of its eyes but there wasn't much else it could do. It needed to prove itself to its new trainer and the only way to do that was to follow commands to the best of its ability. The wild hoothoot puffed up and attempted to hop away with the aid of its stubby little wings, but as it landed its step Shiny Hoothoot launched itself forward in a sudden leap forward. The two collided as the golden bird's head slammed into its opponent and once again had the pair rolling about in the fresh greens of the season.

Wild Hoothoot didn't break away, keeping in close proximity as it recouped from the second tackle so it had an easy time of returning its own tackle attack. A flush of wayward feathers floated in the air as the two battled, squawks of pain and cries of attack ringing in the air.

This is what bane liked to see, he hoothoot was in his opinion starting to get used to attacking one of it's own. Bane spook once more, but this time didn't shout as much, seeing what his hoothoot would do. "Alright, another Tackle" Hoothoot still heard the serious tone in bane's voice and it knew it had no other choice. So i started to run at the wild hoothoot once more, for another tackle.
