Bane's golden Hoothoot was starting to prove itself, and it was determined to continue in the same vein. It picked itself up, assessing the situation with its big, red eyes and taking aim already for its next attack. The opponent tried its best to settle its anger at its former comrade now turning against its own kind, but to no real success. The poor trained Hoothoot was going to be impossible to reason with now; the human had poisoned its mind with thoughts of "loyalty" and "responsibility". So all there was to do was win in this battle. But Shiny Hoothoot was the first to act here, and slammed into the wild Hoothoot with as much force as it could, knocking the wind out of the feral one. But the regular Hoothoot wasn't going to let this lie and responded in kind with a powerful Tackle attack of its own. Without an attack debuff, its reply seemed a little stronger than the initial hit, but they still seemed quite evenly matched. Battle Weather: Clear Hoothoot | LV 4 | HP: 40% (8/20) Status: Normal Used Tackle! VS
Shiny Hoothoot ♀ | LV 4 | Insomnia HP: 55% (11/20) Status: -1 ATK Used Tackle!Yes it's lazy. It's late. Sue me.

This shiny hoothoot was doing well in bane's eyes. it was showing it's worth, and bane liked that. Bane then felt movement in his arms as mizu woke up from the hypnosis the shiny hoothoot had done to him before it was caught. "Squirtle?" Mizu said as he noticed he was in his trainer's arms. "Ah your finally awake" Bane stated as he looked at mizu. "Squirtle. Squirtle?" Mizu then said as he looked towards the battlefield. "I caught the hoothoot after it made you sleep. And it is now showing it's potential. But don't worry you will get to show your potential again soon." Mizu nodded as bane then placed him down before looking back a the battlefield, to watch his potential new partner. "as for you, you KNOW what is to be done. So DO IT. Then you shall join me." The shiny hoothoot nodded at that, happy that it is showing it's worth to it's new trainer. The shiny hoothoot ruffled her feathers before giving her opponent a violent glare, fear gone now it had done what they tried to do. All she needed to do now was finish the job, which she set out to do as she charged to go for another tackle.
OOC: shiny hoothoot using tackle.

Hoothoot was struggling with this battle. It didn't want to harm its kin, but it also knew that it would never get through to the newly caught bird now. It had to fight, but every attack hurt so very much. It winced as it braced itself to start attacking again. However, it would be Shiny Hoothoot, for that will be its name this battle, that struck first. The sparkly, shiny one slammed its golden mass into the not-so-shiny-nor-sparkly one, causing the wild owl to fall on its hind and sigh. This battle was so meaningless. Why was this one even hurting its own kind in the first place? What did it seek to gain from doing this foul human's bidding? Hoothoot posed these questions to its opponent, but it was futile. It knew this was all useless. It knew, but it would keep trying to reason with its opponent all the same. It took off once more, slamming its body regretfully into the yellowish one, smacking it with more force than it had taken once again. However, Shiny Hoothoot stood strong, ready to do its master proud again. Wild Battle Weather: Clear Hoothoot | Lv. 4 HP: 25% (5/20) Status: Normal Used Tackle! VS
Shiny Hoothoot | Lv. 4 | Insomnia HP: 35% (7/20) Status: -1 Attack Used Tackle!

"Hmm...." Bane said out loud thinking to himself. The shiny hoothoot stood there waiting for bane to say something. Bane then spoke up, "Not bad, now keep going. Tackle again, and i expect that hoothoot to FALL" The Shiny hoothoot nodded before charging at the hoothoot again, she wasn't sure if she could finish it off but she was going to try her best. Bane just watched as he folded his arms; mizu doing the same thing. Mizu wasn't sure on the bird yet, but Mizu was willing to work with the bird. That is, if the bird did well.

Heartened (or terrified) by Bane's words, Hoothoot knew it had to put a lot more effort into this next attack to make sure that it would be able to take down this wild bird. Despite it's shiny coloring and vivid feathers, it didn't necessarily have any advantage over the wild bird. If anything, being shiny made it a daily target. It was easier to spot the bright golden plumage so predators would find Hoothoot easier. It was through battles that it had gotten this far, and she would have to prove that to Bane here and now. Even the tiny Squirtle in matching clothing to Bane seemed to scrutinize every move Hoothoot made. Scrutinize this! Hoothoot let out a chirp before hopping forward, stubby wings flapping rapidly as it charged forward. Her speed slowly increased as she hurtled towards the wild Hoothoot, trying to read where the wild bird would attempt to dodge. The dull, drab Hoothoot began to move to the left, but faked to the right! Bane's Hoothoot hissed to itself, clicking it's beak in distaste as she felt her body tilt to the left in reaction. Steering clear of that folly, Hoothoot threw every feather, every ounce of energy, and every thing it had towards the wild bird, slamming into it for a critical hit. Hoothoot hooted heartily as her foe fell onto it's back, rolling to a stop a few feet away. Bane's Hoothoot turned to look over her psuedo shoulder, head rolling behind her without moving her feet to gauge Bane's reaction. Wild Hoothoot - Level |4| Health: 0/20 Current Status: ... Bane nodded his head and Mizu did the same. "Good, you will be a good part of the team" His hoothoot then nodded before bane returned it to it's pokeball. Bane then looked down to Mizu, with a serious look. "Right, time for you to prove yourself. You will fight the next pokemon we find." "Squirtle!" Was Mizu's reply as he did a few punches infront on him. Bane smirked, "That's what i like to hear. now come." With that bane started walking again with Mizu following leaving the fallen hoothoot behind.

Bane wasn't the only one along route 29 today that was impressed with his pokémon. As him and Mizu moved along the road between New Bark and Cherrygrove excited shouts could be heard up ahead. "Yeah, that's the way Rattata! Ain't nothin' can stop you." Up ahead an orange ball cap could be seen jumping above the tall grass near the tree line. The frightened cry of a pidgey called out seconds after a loud rustle of grass shook the area. Another round of encouragement came from the young lad, fists in the air as he literally jumped for joy. By the time Bane was close enough to get a clearer view of the Youngster through the small clump of bushes the battle appeared to be over. The lad bent down to let his little purple rat scamper up his arm and grip to his shoulder. Head turning to grin smugly at his partner the boy's eyes found the imposing figure of Bane nearby. He gasped. Awestruck at the sight of the man. But he wasn't afraid. After a muttered word the Youngster jolted to life, breaking into a sprint toward the masked individual. "Wow! You must be real tough huh?" he spouted, skidding to a stop a few feet away from Bane. "Yeah well I'm tough too. Guess what? See this rattata here?" he paused to thumbs up the little rodent clutched to his shoulder. "Top Percentage," he added simply. "No joke! This Rattata is a beast! He can beat everything on this route. What d'yah say tough guy? Battle me?" Though the boy was trying to act tough himself it was clear he was still in amazement of Bane. Youngster Joey challenges Bane to a fight! It wasn't long till a Youngster showed up talking about how he was tough. Bane just chuckled, "your tough too are you? We'll see about that Boy. You want to battle me? Then ill show you what real tough pokemon look like!" Bane was serious, he knew rattata and he didn't believe that rattata was top percentage yet. "Mizu. Show him what I mean" Mizu nodded with a serious face just like Bane. "Mizu, Water Gun" Mizu didn't nod just looked at the Rattata in question before getting water ready in his mouth.

Joey seemed ecstatic that Bane had allowed him a battle and wasted no time backing up so that a field could be made. His top percentage Rattata bounded forward, teeth bared and tail frizzed up in an attempt to look bigger than it actually was. Mizu just remained straight-faced and serious, just like Bane. The Squirtle even crossed his stubby arms in an attempt to look cool and keep up the act. Rattata didn't seem to mind, or didn't seem phased in the slightest. "This'll be a good match. I can already feel it. Rattata always comes out strong right out of the gate. That's why it's top percentage. We've been working so hard, ya know? Like you have to do when you're tough." It was kind of hard to appear as tough as Joey ACTUALLY was when he was overshadowed by the cool, tough Bane. "Rattata, show him what I mean!" Joey stole the line from Bane, and the rat began to run forward. "Give 'em a good Tackle!" Mizu already had his orders, but both Pokemon seemed evenly matched when it came to speed. Because the Water Gun was a ranged attack it hit first. Rattata was doused with water and it took a couple of seconds to shake some of the excess off. It had been a solid hit, but Rattata wasn't out of the battle yet, not by a long shot. The rat ran forward and slammed it's body into the belly of Mizu, taking the Squirtle off guard with just how hard the attack had it. Mizu stumbled back a few paces, obviously rattled but cleared it up rather quickly for the sake of it's reputation with Bane. "Great hit! That's what i'm talking about, buddy!" Joey looked up at Bane with a small grin. "Hey, guess that means we're pretty tough, huh?"Joey's Top Percentage Rattata - Level |05| Health: 11/19 Current Status: Take that! Successful Tackle! Critical Hit! Bane's Mizu - Level |7|
Health: 16/25 Current Status: Decent hit. Successful Water Gun!

Bane chuckled as the boy talked. And bane took notice of him stealing his line. "Say what you wish. However words are no good if can't prove it with actions. And there is still time." Bane then looked down to mizu. He saw mizu's battle stance and understood. "Tackle" Within a few seconds of bane saying that mizu had started to charge at the Ratata. "As for your strength little boy. Me and Mizu here will be the judge of that."

The steely exterior of his opponent sent trickles of cold shivers through Joey's bones, but he did well to hide them with over dramatic movements, such as pumping his fists in the air or jumping into the air with excitement. It was rare he had a real challenger around these parts. Normally all the snot nosed kids that run to the Professor for the first pokémon have no idea what they're doing. They stopped being fun to battle a long time ago. But this guy... this guy was something else. A true test of just how top percentage his buddy rattata was. He had to win! "Well you better pay close attention then or you'll miss it," the youngster boasted, pointing a thumb to his chest as he stood proudly behind his partner. The rattata's fur bristled as he cried his name in support, tail twitching as if that would help it appear more intimidating. Joey smirked, his confidence brimming. "Go on Rattata, let's show them with actions instead of words. Quick Attack!" The boy enthusiastically pointed at the charging squirtle as if Rattata needed to know who to target. Mizu was already in motion, charging through the grass toward the little rat. But once he was close Rattata disappeared in a blur of purple. The squirtle skid to a stop, following after the sound of his opponent scurrying through the tall grass, but he was too quick to keep up with. Before the turtle knew it there was a Rattata bashing into his stomach. Mizu was winded, pulling both of his hands to his belly for a second before the thought of looking weak entered his mind. That just wouldn't do. Instead he dropped his hands to go on all fours and lunged at the retreating rat. The tackle landed, crushing the smaller pokémon underneath Mizu's shelled body. "Keep strong Rattata! That squirtle's got nothin' on yah. We've got 'em on the ropes!" Youngster Joey called out in support, putting his hands on his hips to strike a victory post. A little presumptuous. When Rattata stood back up it was labored and a bit shaky. Battle Weather: Clear Top % Rattata | LV 5 | Guts HP: 26% (5/19) Status: Normal Used Quick Attack! VS
Mizu | LV 7 | Torrent HP: 44% (11/25) Status: Normal Used Tackle!

"Miss it you say? Hmmm. Big words from such a young boy." Bane smirked under his mask. He knew how the younger ones worked, always full or spirit. Always thinking what they wanted to believe. That was then the attack happened. Mizu seemingly coming out on top. Mizu seemed to be slightly outta breath. Bane noticed this. "Hmmmm, I see. Mizu, Water Gun." Bane knew another running attack would not help Mizu right now. So he decided to be somewhat kind and also him to not run. Mizu nodded at the command and began getting water ready in his mouth. Then bane noticed something. "If i was you boy. I'd keep an eye on both Pokemon. Your Rattata is in a more worse state." Bane then said no more, wanted the youngster to work it out. Mizu could tell what bane expected. For him to win, and now it was all or nothing.

Bane's cold, confident words continued to perturb Joey as they fought, though he wasn't going to show it any time soon. He was still quite confident in his partner, despite the obvious shakiness and fatigue that the rodent was displaying. It wouldnt' be long now. This guy was all talk, Joey thought to himself. Before long, he and his Squirtle would probably be headed back to the Pokémon Centre, marvelling over this Youngster and his Rattata. They'd know then what "the top percentage of Rattata" was truly capable of. Joey stopped a moment to wonder why he had become so obsessed with that one phrase over the past few minutes, but chalked it down to the challenge that he was currently facing. "Hah, you'll soon see what this 'young boy' can really do, ol' man. I don't talk big for nothin', you know!" Joey punched the air in front of him, looking down at Rattata as if expecting something similar from his combatant. The Normal type looked up at its master and mustered a weak battle-cry. Joey seemed to be completely ignorant to his partner's situation, instead taking the cry as a sign that his companion was ready to fight. He answered Bane's next comment soon after, a confident smile playing on his lips. "Hah, didn't you see that just now? This little guy's got just as much fight left in 'im as I have! Go get 'em with another Quick Attack, Rattata!" He pointed straight ahead as he issued this last sentence, prompting his Pokémon to amble forward unenergetically into the fray. Mizu waddled slowly forward, his own energy starting to fade. The match could do with ending soon, for certain, but it would again be the buck-toothed creature to strike first. Rattata summoned up all the energy it could and darted toward the Squirtle that opposed it for one last attack. It was almost as if it knew that this was the end, what with just how much it was clearly putting into this move. It slammed into Mizu at an astonishing pace, taking the Tiny Turtle by surprise and knocking him back onto his shell. Fortunately for the Water type, he wasn't quite so easily immobilised as some of his real-world counterparts. He quickly righted himself and dusted down his body before starting his counterattack. His cheeks puffed out as he called forth his move, soon letting loose a ferocious stream of water. The attack clattered Rattata on its forehead, sending it back onto its side in an instant. This time, though, the top percentage of Rattata failed to get back up. Joey seemed stunned. "C'mon, Rattata, let's end this! Another Quick Attack!" the Youngster ordered, totally in denial of his loss. There was no way that this Rattata, the greatest of all the Rattata, could have lost so quickly. It was just... it was just tired, that was it. He stood there, watching his Pokémon for a while. One could easily see reality settle in, as his facial expression slowly changed from confidence to shock, then finally defeat. He pulled out a Pokéball from his belt and recalled his partner before walking over to Bane. "OK, so... could you maybe keep quiet about this? I don't want people knowing that the top percentage of Rattata can't beat some Squirtle. I can pay!" He produced a small sum of Pokédollars, thrusting them into Bane's chest. Without waiting for his response, Joey bid farewell to the victor. "Thanks again, pal! We'll be back some day, and we'll win next time!" He waved to Bane and ran off, a single tear running down his cheek as he contemplated his defeat. But that wasn't Bane's concern. VS. Living Meme Joey
Joey's Rattata | Level 5 HP: Top 0% (0/19 HP) Status: Ded Rattata used Quick Attack!"At least we've not been turned into a joke, right?" VS
Bane's Mizu | Level 7 HP: 28% (7/25 HP) Status: Normal Mizu used Water Gun!"Pft. Top percentage. Hah."
Congratulations!
Bane has defeated Memester Youngster Joey! Mizu gained 2 levels for this win, reaching Level 9! Joey handed over 200 monies to bribe Bane into silence. "Hah! Top percentage? What does that even mean? He was clearly not worth anyone's time. Good riddance." A mocking laugh followed this sudden interruption. If Bane turned to his right, he'd find the owner easily. A young kid with a very sour expression on his face was walking straight for the masked trainer. It was hard not to be drawn to this boy's striking maroon hair; it was an unusual shade for a person to be sporting, really. His silver eyes glared at Bane all the while, as if trying to stab straight through the young man's body. He smirked as he got within a few metres of his target, stopping and eyeing Bane up with mild interest. "I've been keeping an eye on you. I'm impressed. Some people might have been sucked into that kid's dumb routine, only lowering their own IQ as a result. Not to mention, you've been pretty good at not catching every damn weakling on this sorry excuse for a Route." The unknown quantity flicked his hand through his red mane, chuckling at his own comments. "You'll do. You don't seem completely useless. It's time to test out my latest acquisition." The boy reached down into his pocket and produced a Pokéball. He quickly tossed it out into the field between them. The ball exploded open to reveal a small, green creature with a leaf on its head. The Pokémon nervously flicked said leaf upward into the air, shivering slightly as it did even that. "Hmph. Don't be so pathetic. We're about to have a battle, Chikorita! Sort yourself out!" The creature known as "Chikorita" winced as its trainer yelled at it, only shivering more as a result. "Pathetic. I hope you'll fight better than this; we've trained long enough already." The kid turned his gaze back up to his would-be opponent, tapping his foot. "And you? Going to release a Pokémon or just stand there and watch this idiot scare itself to death?"
A Mysterious Trainer has approached Bane for a battle! He chooses a Chikorita (Level 10), who looks incredibly shaken for some reason! Will Bane fight or flee?

Bane just listened to the young boy as he went on. Bane knew the outcome, a lose for the boy. And in it the boy wanted bane to be quiet about it. The boy even gave him cash, bonus much. But before bane could talk the boy went and in their place another kid showed up. Bane let him talk before letting of a laugh. Bane heard it all, including tone. "If a were you bub i'd watch what you say.You wouldn't to turn this into a fist fight between us two now would we?" Bane had a serious tone with a slight fighting stance. "As for your pokemon there. It fears you, which is good. HOWEVER, your ways of fear is wrong. A pokemon shouldn't shake. the fear should be REASON it respects you." Bane then chuckled as he saw Mizu acting like he was bane throwing a knock out punch.
"Now, let me show you why i'm the BANE of your destruction. Mizu. I want you to watch, and learn." Mizu nodded, bane knew one thing, that leaf most likely meant the green pokemon was a grass type. Type disadvantage. Not the best. "Now, Skull get out here." Bane threw out a pokeball, letting out Skull. A purple sludge like pokemon. That was about to attack straight away seeing a grass like pokemon. "I know. I know Skull. Patience. First lets create some mist" Skull nodded before sending out a Poison Gas towards the opponent pokemon. "Oh and by the way, Skull here HATES grass type pokemon" Bane then chuckled waiting to see Silver's reaction. Skull was ready to fight, and to finally defeat a grass type. After all, Bane got it after a Grass type defeated it.

The mention of a fist fight earned a snicker from the redheaded kid. "A fist fight, huh? So you're already accepting that you can't win with your Pokémon, is that the gist of what you're telling me here? I'd refrain from making empty threats like that if I were you. You wouldn't want people to think you were scared of a battle, would you?" Despite all his talk, the boy seemed somewhat disappointed with Bane's reaction, as if he might have misjudged the masked trainer. "It's especially bad for you when you insist on wearing that mask of yours. What have you got to hide, exactly? You ashamed of how you look or something?" With every word, the brat's expression darkened. This immediately deteriorated into a scowl as Bane said his next piece. "Fear? You think it fears ME?" The boy glared at his new opponent, looking rather shocked at Bane's comment. "Oh no, you're mistaken. It fears battles, opponents - even itself, now that I think of it - but it's not scared of me. Isn't that right?" His voice loudened as he asked this last question of his Chikorita. The little Grass type shrieked, feeling its trainers eyes gouging into the back of its neck, and it nodded vigorously in reply. Its demeanour would suggest otherwise, of course. "You, on the other hand... fear and respect are two very different things. If you think people can respect those that they fear, then this won't be a very long battle at all. You're one hell of a misguided trainer. I'll show you how a real match should go down, you fool." It was clear now that this teenager was not in the mood for making friends with Bane, his eyes sharp as daggers and trying to cut straight into the masked man's chest. "Bane of my destruction?!" the kid asked, trying his best to stifle laughter all through it. He failed quite quickly, however, guffawing at the latest offering from his would-be rival. "Do you even know what you're saying? You're practically offering to protect me at this point. Are you going to propose to me next? If so, I've got news for you. I don't swing that way, and I certainly wouldn't be interested in your sorry arse. If you can't even show your face to your lover, I feel for whomever that'll be." He continued to laugh through the rest of Bane's speech, barely paying attention to what he was saying. Chikorita's trembling stopped while its trainer was preoccupied, perhaps realising that it wasn't going to get any abuse for a little while. It took maybe a minute or so for the boy to calm down, wiping tears from his eye. "Well, you might be worthless, but at least you're entertaining in your own dumb way. Much like Chikorita here, actually. Speaking of which, let's have a Tackle from you. Get to it!" Chikorita squealed a high-pitched reply, slowly tottering toward the sewage-like creature that opposed it. Mustering as much courage as it could, the little green monster ran at top speed, lowering its head and closing its eyes tight shut as it prepared for contact. It looked terrified even while it was attacking, shivering all the time. Ramming into Skull, Chikorita looked a little relieved at the attack succeeding. Though, this by itself perhaps prompted something that it really could've done without. "Oh for goodness's sake, get it together! That was one attack! Focus, you worthless piece of trash!" The silver-eyed trainer glowered at his Pokémon servant, who once more shrieked in distress. Skull's own reply came shortly after, a thick smog billowing from his mouth and filling the void between the two trainers. Bane's opposition put his hand to his face preemptively, glaring at his opponent. "So this is your game plan now, huh? Trying to kill me instead of winning fair and square? I was right, you really can't win with your Pokémon. And as for your Grimer hating Grass types... well... that just goes to show how bad a trainer you are. Poison should always beat Grass. This'll be quick after all." While he spoke, Chikorita winced as the poison began to course through her veins. "Oh grow the hell up! You gonna flinch at everything?" His partner's reply was, indeed, to flinch. The kid tutted, almost biting his lip in frustration at the Grass type. VS. ???
