I've sent off my submission for SOTM. This month's staff running for the title is going to be colossal. I mean, when I was looking over the staff list its so hard not to be swayed by a particular mod's work as they all contribute nicely in different ways. Good luck on the final say, Oak.

Member of the Month: April 2010 And the winner is...JoeyOur back-to-back winner has dominated the voting for this award and was a standout favourite among the staff members. But boy does he deserve this honour. Not only has Joey contributed to the site, but he has helped DEFINE the very nature of ZapdosZulu. He needs no incentive whatsoever to post and April has been no exception as he continued to wrack up the numbers, displaying an unmatchable ability to offer an insightful opinion on any topic imaginable. He has continued to maintain his roleplaying standards throughout April and has dealt with Moderators throwing some vicious scenarios at him, which demonstrates his versatility and his ability to bring out creativity from others. However, perhaps one of the most telling signs of his immersion in the roleplay is the fact that he has roleplayed together with a multitude of other members and has created fascinating scenarios of his own. One of our longest-serving and most respected members wins this award today and it is my great honour to announce this once again. Staff of the Month: April 2010 And the winner is...ArtmageWhen the month of April drew to a close, I had an unenviable job of selecting a winner for SotM and for me it was a daunting task of having to isolate one staff member out of several who have worked tremendously hard. April saw a month where activity shot through the roof as members came in by droves, placing an enormous pressure on the site and on our Moderators. However, during this month, the arrival of one member was almost a godsend to the site. Displaying an extraordinary artistic talent, artmage soon gained respect from her peers and it wasn’t long before she had a complete working knowledge of ZapdosZulu’s rules and procedures but also its culture, making her an ideal candidate for the Moderator position. After completing her training, it had already been late into the month, yet she made an astonishing impact as she burst onto the moderating scene with guns blazing. The number one criteria upon which the competition was judged was of course “Efficiency of modding”. Her approach to modding has been the epitome of this and she has maintained this level of efficiency throughout her tenure as a staff member even on days where the site’s progress has been slow. Further, she is prepared to moderate almost any thread and her influence can be seen in every town/city, meaning that she makes an admirable effort to read a variety of threads and to keep up-to-date with even the most neglected of them. Finally, she also carries out a lot of updating work, including the approval of new character profiles and the updating of starter Pokemon. She is always prepared to lend a hand and on one occasion that I can recall, she was one of the first to assist in the distribution of the Easter Event Pokemon, ensuring timely service to our members. Quite a few other members have also recognised her efforts during the month and hold her contributions in great esteem. Her often understated and enthusiastic approach towards modding is definitely something that we can all aspire to and I am most pleased to have made this selection.
Please note that there we so many deserving candidates for either reward and I hope that none of you will be discouraged in the future. Our site has been popular not because of the strength of few, but because everyone has contributed to our community. I’d especially like to thank all of the staff for your tireless efforts, not only through modding but also the updating and the contribution of ideas, which has rarely been recognised. Special thanks also to those who helped organise the Easter Event, which was the most significant event to be held during the month. Remember that there won’t be a MotM/SotM this month but it will return in June. Your conduct during May, however, will count towards next month’s competition and I will especially be keeping note of which staff members stand out during this month and I trust that the staff will do the same for MotM voting.
Last but not least, the rewards for our two winners: Houndour Name: [choose] Gender: [choose] Level: 5 Attacks: Leer, Ember, Howl, Will-O-Wisp Nature/Personality: [choose] OR Vulpix Name: [choose] Gender: [choose] Level: 5 Attacks: Ember, Tail Whip, Hypnosis Nature/Personality: [choose]

........... ....................... .....And now that I'm done getting over most of my sense shutting down for a few seconds, I must say among other things; I. Thank you, first of all to Scotty, for manhandling me into this madhouse to begin with and helping me get through my mod test. You sire, are my captain even as Oak is my king, and I am your loyal footsoldier. II. Thank you to all my regular little fledglings, especially Misty, Alex Aruo and Haroildo for making modding not so much a burden as it is a pleasure to watch you guys grow and move on and reach new heights. There is hope for literacy after all! Note that I *love* modding you fellas, always have and always will. Keep up the good work! III. Thank you to all the mods and leaders of Zapdoszulu for making me feel welcomed--taking into account that I have the attention span of a rat and had skimmed over three sites, you crazy people took me under your wings and if it weren't for you guys, hey, I probably won't even be here to accept this, nein? Viva la ZapdosZulu! Seriously, since I came in late I didn't expect to be in the running, but really, I'm beyond honored. I should say that I thought Scott, Camtoniac and Azardon were spectacular as mods as well, and I wish you guys all best of luck on taking upon the June challenge. Don't expect me to slack on the modding though.. And now, for my darling demon dog... I'll probably have her replace Allegra the moment I cross the threshold to Cherrygrove. Meet Desirae! HoundourName: Desirae [Pronounced as latin 'Dies Irae'] Gender: Female Level: 5 Attacks: Leer, Ember, Howl, Will-O-WispNature/Personality: As the offspring of Vargallan, the Cuchulainn mascot, this little femme inherits, despite her meek, babyish mannerisms to her 'mama' Hale, a quiet viciousness that only erupts in battle where despite her young age, she feels right at home in. She is an intelligent, devious young thing, more than happy to use her cuddly puppy charms and eyes to take advantage of anyone she wishes to. This makes her somewhat 'mature' and she tends to be a bit of a Lolita around males whether they be her age or older. This hides a bit of a low self-esteem issue as she was first given to Hale's sister Rae, who upon not being impressed that she lacked the skills needed to be a good co-ordinating Pokemon, decided to trade her as a baby with Hale for Allegra, Hale's Sentret who was a decent dancer and had an ear for music. As such, Desirae tries to be an extroverted showgirl sort, happy to bring vaudevillian tendencies into her battles and sometimes putting more emphasis on showmanship rather than the technicalities of her attacks. Enjoys cuddling on to 'mama', picking fights with Jericho, chewing key items and like all puppies her age, being allowed to rampage unfettered through a living room. Also, congratulations to Joey for winning MotM as well! Totally deserving of the prize, if I don't say so myself. Now we both have Hellpuppies. Lovely.

A second MotM victory? Well i'll be damned. I had a pretty strong feeling that I wasn't going to get this due to my previous victory. Yes, yes, I know Oak confirmed previous winners were once again eligible but at the end of the day it rested on the staff themselves to vote for me. So in this regard, a huge thank you goes out to the staff for believing that I was once again deserving of such a prestigious title. But, the mods aren't just whom I owe a big thanks to. It's thanks to the thriving community that has flourished since ZapdosZulu's resurgence from December/January onwards. Back when I won this award in October last year, the foundations of this place were the same as they are now but this place was smaller. Far, far smaller. But look at it now! It's almost like a different place. Sure you have the old guard like Phoenix, Andrew, Morrigan and myself but there are literally a whole new generation of upcoming members. Thanks to them, i've been able to enjoy this place even further and make some brilliant new friends. All you active members that come on from day to day? Yeah. You know who you are. Thanks for bringing something different to this place. In the near future, i'd love to do a group roleplay with you all. The ones i've participated in so far have all been entertaining. ;D With that said and done i'd also like to clean one thing up. I feel deeply, DEEPLY honoured to have won this award a second time but I think that's the end of the road for me. In the next running i'd like to place a self imposed exclusion on myself. I think it's time other members had a crack at this competition. ...If that doesn't sound too big headed. >_> Of course, I might balls up in the runnings for next time and be excluded anyway. The future holds many pitfalls. Congratulations to you too Artmage. These awards have somewhat symbolic depth to them. You're pretty new to the place and yet you've come so far in seizing such a prize. Whereas i'm pretty ancient here. Just goes to show, anyone can win it, given the chance. At some point we should do a little group RP with both our little pups. ;D And on that note... I think i'll also go for the Houndour. I feel bad for the poor lonely Vulpix but REALLY. Can you see Joey commanding a Vulpix over a Houndour? Plus Will O' Wisp... Yum! ;D If someone could stick this in the PC box for now. HoundourName: Hades Gender: Female Level: 5 Attacks: Leer, Ember, Howl, Will-O-WispNature/Personality: Hades exemplifies the typical guard dog personality with loud barking and snarls over someone suspicious. Given the chance, Hades will also act cruel and vicious to anyone daring to encroach on its territory, mercilessly attacking them until they flee. Despite Hades fierceness, she retains a strong loyalty to her trainer. Houndour Name: Hades Gender: Female Level: 5 Attacks: Leer, Ember, Howl, Will-O-Wisp Nature/Personality: Hades exemplifies the typical guard dog personality with loud barking and snarls over someone suspicious. Given the chance, Hades will also act cruel and vicious to anyone daring to encroach on its territory, mercilessly attacking them until they flee. Despite Hades fierceness, she retains a strong loyalty to her trainer. *bows* I thank you all deeply once again. I'm proud to be part of such a lovely community. To think I was going to give up on forums before I stumbled on this place... Tsk. Glad all you guys proved me wrong. Congratulations guys. I couldn't say that I think anyone deserves either reward more than you two. Enjoy your prizes and keep up the great work. Thanks for the congratulations. I'll definitely be enjoying this Houndour. I've got a tough decision in deciding what Pokemon to train for the time being. ;D I'm glad to see you back where you belong. You're a key asset to this place. Congratulations! you both deserve it! I'm glad you became the Member/Staff of the Month: April! Cheers for Joey and Artmage! Thanks! Like I said in my congratulatory post, I couldn't have done it without you all.

This is a little something for the winners: Art, Joey, you are free to use this as you will I'm sorry for the horrible look, it was a quicky, and some of the shading isn't correct, to hard, wrong placed, but it's a gifty ^^ Sorry for your hat Joey, don't blame me, blame my imagination. ;p anyways; I'll be sending both of you a pm with the link, so you can use it!

Well, so long as Joey is around, nobody is going to win MotM. He's always here. Always here. Always here. Always here. *schemes a plot to kill Joey* MORE assassination attempts? No wonder I sleep with my eyes open. Still, I addressed this issue in my post so don't worry folks, there's hope for you all in the next runnings. Unless of course... A really cool Pokemon is added into the prize giveaway. Nah, just kidding. I understand some of you may be getting sick of Joey this and Joey that. Woooooow, Joey won again, eh? Ah well, you somewhat deserve it *helps Nada with her killing plot* Lol, not really. xD Congrats, you do deserve it will all the victims new members you have brought here AND all the spamming posts you have made everywhere. ~ Not you too... Now i'll have to fortify my defences even further with you plotting and scheming. I'm not spamming either. I can't help it I like to post on and on. Old habits die hard. ;D Either way, most of my posts are fairly lengthy on average so its hardly spamming a sentence all the time. Thanks for the congrats though, hun. But yay for Art! <3 You totally deserve it. It must've been a tough decision for Oak though since all mods have been working so hard. D: No kidding, if I had bets going on who would've had won this SOTM, it would have been a very close race indeed. This place is lucky to have so many dutiful moderators. This is a little something for the winners: Art, Joey, you are free to use this as you will I'm sorry for the horrible look, it was a quicky, and some of the shading isn't correct, to hard, wrong placed, but it's a gifty ^^ Sorry for your hat Joey, don't blame me, blame my imagination. ;p Wow, that's ever so nice of you to draw a little image for Art and I. I'm honoured to accept this gift as well. ;D Don't worry about the shading and what have you, I personally find it really good. 'Specially with Hades pinching Joe's bandanna. I think i'll have to incorporate that into a future RP somewhere along the lines. Thanks once again for drawing that. ;D
