The old man clenched his fist, "That's not true we've still got a fighting chance!" he shouted. He pointed his finger right at Tyler as it shook in a rage. He had to defend his Slowpoke friends, he was not going to let them get swiped but some teenager again! "Why can't you just leave them alone? Can't you make money the fair way like every one else"? he spat. But after all that ranting and spitting Flint had used his move. A purple breath flew out of his mouth and hit Shuckle.

The old man stood there with his mouth open, he didn't ever get a fighting chance. Once again he has to watch by and let the Pokemon of this cave get butchered for some rare meat. Falling to his knees, he pulled over his Pokeball and ruturned shuckle. "you're a monster" he scoffed. Picking him self up and walking to get his Pokemon healed.

Flare gained 1250 experience points meaning they are now 1250/1951 on there way to leveling up!

Tyler laughed at the idea of making money the fair way, not only was it not fun but under most circumstances you would never make much at all. " The fair way of making money is for the dim witted and weak. It is much more fun and profitable this way and I get a kick out of it so why would I even bother with the fair way?"  he asked as Flint's attack scored a direct hit. As the old man walked away powerless to stop him the Slowpoke he had spotted earlier had nothing else to protect it from his wrath. A smile ran across his face as his target was not in reach and nothing could stop him now.

" Now then as you now have nothing else to protect you it is time to get down to business at hand, you see your tail is worth quite a bit of money and I intend to take it from you. Afterwards I plan on capturing you as your species even without a tail sells for a pretty high price and I shall be selling you to claim some of that delicious money. Now the only question remaining is will you be a good sport and let me cut it off without a fight or will you fight back like those other two morons did?" The blank look on the Slowpoke's face gave him the answer he needed as it would battle him no matter how convincing he tried to be. With that in mind he had the perfect Pokemon to use against the annoying Pokemon.

" Figures you would want to fight back, everyone has to try and be the hero until they get their ass handed to them. That is fine by me as I will enjoy ripping your tail from the rest of your body. Volcano say hello to this unfortunate Pokemon that is about to be your next victim." The Quilava approached his foe with his claws extended ready to use the move he had learned from helping Sylvester a short time ago and Slowpoke seemed like the perfect target. " It is time to make this fool pay for it's ignorance, I want you to use Cut and slice it's tail off so that the main objective of our mission will be complete. Afterwards we will weaken it more before capturing it." He said as Volcano rushed at full speed towards SLowpoke ready to do his dirty deed.

Slowpoke didn't like this guy or where this was going at all. Slowpoke liked its tail, it didn't want to lose it. The sluggish pink pokémon tipped its head to the side as Tyler continued to speak. It's dopey face wide-eyed and ever smiling just staring back blankly at this strange man. Slowpoke would have to do something about this... but what should it do..? It thought and thought, and continued thinking even into Volcano receiving his orders. The lava pokémon sparked its flames in a burst of heat and light, the orange glow dancing around the cave as he rushed forward.

Targeting the tail was a simple matter. The white tip lay there, still, beside the slowpoke's body. Even when Volcano brought his claws down to severe the appendage Slowpoke was slow to react, eyes drawing downward to look at its now stub of a tail. A flicker of sadness flushed along its visage seconds before its whole body began to glimmer. With a beat of its little feet against the ground Slowpoke curled itself in, tucking what was left of its tail between its legs, and stood up ready to begin fighting; next round.

Tyler knew Slowpoke were annoying but even he fully expected that cut alone would not be enough to knock it out. Even with the job of cutting off it's tail all but over there was still the matter of capturing the creature as it would sell for a good price. " It does not look like this thing will fight back that much at all. Still it will take a while to beat it using normal methods now that its defenses have been boosted. I do have a plan around that as frustrating as giving it a free turn will be." He said as Blitz the Magnemite crossed his mind.

Knowing the steel type have access to Sonicboom was a tempting choice however as Volcano still had all of his hp and Slowpoke would never get the first attack off anyways he decided to stick with him for now and he would consider his other options later. He was not going to give Slowpoke a free turn unless he had no other choice and given the weak reaction when Volcano used cut before he was not expecting the water type to put up much of a fight. With the decision to keep Volcano out the main problem was figuring out a way to overcome the type disadvantage and the effects of curse boosting the dimwitted Pokemon's defense.

" I do not think we have a choice here but to keep hammering away at this blob until it finally gives in. There is not many other options we have and I will not knock it out as capturing it takes top priority over anything else. The price tag alone on this freak will be worth the trouble we have to go through in order to score big." Tyler was not known for his patience but scoring big was an exception and he could only dream of how well a Slowpoke would sell on the black market after he captured it.

" Volcano I want you to be careful not to do anything too stupid this round. To be on the safe side I want you to use Ember to soften it up. It is still too healthy to waste a ball on it at the moment and I am running low on them at the moment." As he finished speaking Volcano readied his attack trying to hold back as much as he could to leave Slowpoke in suitable condition.



Ooc: Volcano uses Ember on Slowpoke. I do believe Slowpoke is supposed to be level 13.

Battle!

The Slowpoke still didn't have much of an idea what was going on, but whatever it was he didn't seem all that friendly. It's mouth hung open, the prized tail swaying carefully above its head. The blank stare told that it had no clue as to what was to come, but all it knew what there was some sort of danger, maybe it should start defending itself. But it was slow, as its namesake suggested, and Volcano got the jump on the situation.

Jumping back, the fire shrew released an onslaught of little flames that seared the Slowpoke's skin, but rather than actually showing any form of pain, the Slowpoke instead opened its mouth wider, in something resembling a smile which was far from the case. Volcano hadn't seen it coming but from the abyss of the slowpoke's throat came an onslaught of water that caused him pain as it slammed into his face. Hissing in distaste, he shook out his body before standing at attention again, waiting for Tyler's next command.

The sight of Slowpoke actually fighting back was quite amusing to Tyler as the creature was clearly desperate to try and protect itself against impossible odds. Little did the water type know what it was really up against as it made its desperate last stand. " Aw how cute the brainless bag of blubber can fight back a bit. Good that will make this a little more interesting than I had originally planned. It will not change the outcome no matter what but at least it will not be a totally one sided match." He said as he thought aloud. It did raise the question of using Blitz now as Sonicboom would be a rather safe bet to put the water type in it's place and the risk to Volcano was growing by the second.

As much as he renounced the idea of giving Slowpoke a free turn Ember was not going to cut it much longer and Blitz had decent defenses enough to survive a hit or two. Combining that knowledge with the lack of progress Volcano was making he knew he had no other choice than to use Blitz now to soften the water type up before going in for the capture. " Volcano a bag f feces will be more useful than you right now in this fight, get back over here and let Blitz handle this so this whole ordeal can be over before the turn of the century." As he made the swap and waited for Slowpoke to make a move he had no doubts in his mind what he would have Blitz do at the first opportunity.

" Blitz as soon as you have the chance I want you to use Sonicboom on that Slowpoke so it will learn just how outmatched it really is. I was going to mess around with it but this way will be a lot more fun." With that being said Blitz got ready to make its move. The tiny steel type knew if it messed up Tyler was far more dangerous than Slowpoke could ever be. Its safety was on the line and no amount of begging would help it get itself out of this battle as Tyler's mind was made up by now. The only question would be after Slowpoke's free move which one of them would win in a slow race as neither was terribly quick and Blitz was not looking forward to Slowpoke's free turn.

Replacing the valiant Volcano, the small form of a Magnemite that Tyler dubbed 'Blitz' entered the fray. The Electric type floated a little above the floor, eyeing up its opponent. The Slowpoke hadn't realised what had occurred yet, naturally, and stayed there with its usual dopey look on its face. Giving a confused "Slooooow...", the stupid lump of meat kept its mouth gaping wide, belching out a powerful jet of water in the direction of what used to be a Quilava. The Fire type's replacement braced itself, allowing the stream to collide with its cold, steel body. Being much more experienced than its poor foe, Blitz seemed to feel almost nothing from the attack at all. Meanwhile, the Slowpoke was just about realising the switch that had taken place, and its face turned even more vacant. Well, it might just have appeared that way; it was hard to tell with this Pokemon.

With speed roughly equivalent to its namesake's, Blitz made its counterattack. It closed its single eye tightly before letting off a powerful metallic screech, which rippled throughout the entire well. Slowpoke sat there, looking quite pleased with itself after having just fended off a scary-looking Quilava. On the other side of the field, the screeching from Blitz was generating a strong sonic boom, which started coursing toward the oblivious Water type. Slowpoke yawned softly, waiting for its opponent to make its first move, and couldn't even try to dodge the attack. The Sonic Boom ripped through it, causing some serious bruises to form on its skin and almost lifting it off of the floor. Almost. But it was at about this time that Slowpoke realised that it was probably going to be able to get the first attack in, and it tried a repeat of before. It fired another of its Water Gun attacks, which again punched Blitz in the eye. One has to wonder how Magnemite manage to take so many hits directly to their face, really. Blitz shook this off as easily as it had the first and waited on Tyler for its next order.

Even though he had to give Slowpoke a free shot at Blitz the magnet did not disappoint him as its Sonicboom caused considerable damage while taking a second hit rather well. Slowpoke was still not going to be a guaranteed capture yet but Tyler already had a plan in mind to assure a successful capture so they could end this mission and explore the Ilex Forest more as the short time he was there he did not travel very deeply into it and it was the only path he knew of to get to Goldenrod. For now though finishing this battle quickly was out of the question as he plans would take at least one more turn to work the way he wanted.

" Blitz I am amazed you held on so well, You still have a lot of work before I can consider you great but you have done well weakening this Slowpoke enough for the next part of my plan. Now that its health has dropped quite a bunch I think it is time we torture it in other ways." He said as Blitz blinked as it wondered what its master had in mind. Slowpoke had already fallen well behind in this battle and Blitz did not have many other attacking options that would not knock it out however Tyler did not plan on doing damage this round.

" I do not want to risk knocking this freak of nature out as it is much too valuable and most of my Pokemon are too powerful at this point. With that being said however it is in the perfect position to try a Thunder Wave attack so it will have very little hope of escaping from one of my great balls." As he announced his plans for the world to hear Blitz did not have to ponder what the next attack it would be using would be any longer. All it had to do was wait for his order to strike and then hope the weak charge of electricity would reach its target.

" Now then I do believe we have waited long enough and I would like to get this over with now that I cannot harm you much more than I already have. Blitz it is time, launch your THunder Wave at this Slowpoke and cripple it so we will be able to capture it in the next round and complete our mission." Blitz then began building up a weak charge in an attempt to score a hit on its target.

The Slowpoke was starting to lose much of its HP and get within capture range for the young Team Rocket member, so understandably Tyler had chosen to change up his tactics. With Slowpoke still gawping mindlessly at its opponent, still yet to register the Sonic Boom that had just ravaged its body, it was time to cripple it even more and render it almost unable to resist capture. Blitz acknowledged its trainer's order and started to crackle softly, light blue sparks of electricity flying from its body while it generated the required energy. Seconds later, a flash of blue light burst out of Blitz's tiny body, followed quickly by thin wires of lightning. The electrical threads raced across the well, soon wrapping themselves around the little pink target. Slowpoke screamed in pain as they constricted it, but this was more likely down to the earlier Sonic Boom than anything else. The Thunder Wave then seeped into the flesh of Slowpoke, setting deep into its muscles. Slowpoke's retaliation was the same old attack that it had been using the past few turns now; it fired yet another of its Water Guns at Blitz. The attack connected once more, and Slowpoke sighed loudly. It didn't seem all that happy, which was understandable when one considered what it had been through. It waved its tail stump around, trying to look threatening. "Trying" being the operative word; it looked more pitiful than anything else.

With Thunder Wave taking effect Slowpoke had now allowed him to set up his plan perfectly. The paralysis combined with the amount of damage it had taken meant that Slowpoke would have little chance of escaping from one of his Great Balls now. As much as he relished in the enjoyment of torturing Slowpoke the time had come to try and capture it before he knocked it out trying to get greedy. He reached into his backpack as Blitz kept an eye on the poor water type making sure it did not try and escape while Tyler sought out the correct ball to use.

His disorganized bag did not help matters at all as random items were tossed about everywhere but after a few moments of digging he was finally able to find the Great Ball he was looking for. As he placed it in his right hand he began to laugh maniacally before he began to speak in an evil tone trying to scare Slowpoke into submission before he tossed the ball. " My, my you have met with a terrible fate haven't you? You have no one left to protect you, you can hardly move, and you have been beaten to a pulp." After pausing for a brief moment to take the moment in he continued quite proudly to mock the poor creature.

" You could have given in easily but instead you fought back and now the hunter is hear to claim his prize. You the poor beast with its back to the wall are in a checkmate situation. There is no hope for you now. Embrace the fact that I am letting you live and allow me to capture you without having to prolong this any further or I swear I will make every remaining day of your life a living hell." With his threats now exhausted he held out his right arm with the ball tightly gripped in his hand. 

Taking a very careful aim he tossed the ball at the Slowpoke as fast as he could. He did not want to give it any chance of dodging it as he had come this far and he was not about to let it escape. " Great Ball capture this Slowpoke so we can be on our way." He said as he waited for the results hoping for the best but Blitz was willing to take one for the team if it somehow escaped the ball.

[I'm going to assume you self-deducted the ball, March. Sorry for the lack of substance, but there's really nothing to add here.]

Slowpoke was struggling with movement now, the paralysis setting in perfectly, and completely at the mercy of Tyler and his Magnemite. Fortunately for the dopey Water type, though, it seemed as though Tyler was quite keen on catching this one. It wasn't difficult to imagine why, considering a single Slowpoke would be able to regrow its tail and provide even more income for its owner if they so wished. Whatever the reason, it would appear that Slowpoke was no longer going to suffer as Tyler reached for a Great Ball in his bag. It stared vacantly at its oppressor while he laughed and ranted at it, completely unaware of exactly what was going on but quite certain that it wanted all of this to stop. It yawned halfway through Tyler's monologue, as if to punctuate its lack of interest. Tyler tossed the Great Ball, which encapsulated its target and began to wriggle arond violently.

With the loud ping of his Great Ball Tyler had finally accomplished his mission. It had taken him longer than his original plans however it did not give him much trouble and his exploits would certainly be heard by the higher ups though it would take him more than a single completed mission to climb the ranks. It was a start however and a good one at that as it showed he was a reliable candidate for getting the job done. Mania was glad too as they could finally get back to the Ilex forest to continue their journey or so they had thought. As Tyler left the well a Murkrow delivered him a flier mentioning the Alola festival and he had to pay a visit to see what he could get his grubby little hands on.

" A minor little detour here, we are going to pay this festival a visit first and then make our way back to Ilex. We will need everything we can get our hands on for the road ahead." Mania groaned at the though of a detour but knew it would not change his mind. She hoped it would be quick so they could get back on track.

As they made their way back from the festival Tyler handed Mania the TM containing Dark Pulse and she quickly booted it up. A bright flash lit up the area as she learned the move forgetting Pursuit in the process. Seconds later a dark aura began to surround her that was pure evil in nature. The overwhelming sense of dread caused by the attack filled Tyler with joy as it fit their natures perfectly and she would make better use of it then Hollenhund would. " Ok now that you have such a powerful move we are finally ready to get a move on. I hear some spirits are known to live in the forest, lets find out if that is true or not."

Mania could not wait to test out her new move for real and a unlucky spirit would be the perfect target for them to make into a guinea pig. " Hell and damnation this feels good. Any fool who tries to pick a fight with us will suffer untold levels of terror as they fall victim to me. This should be a very entertaining show. Time to find out if those spirits can fight. I would have for more snooze fest battles like all the recent ones have been.



Ooc: Leaving Slowpoke blank for Kataya and going to add 10 prestige to Tyler's total as it still says 0 on his rocket profile. Also teaching Mania TM 79 Dark Pulse by having her forget Pursuit. I will update everything myself. Keeping Blitz's current moves.
