swap lilligant for ariados, hard mode
After his winning in the underground battle club, Alex returned to Pokemon Center and swapped out his Lilligant for his Ariados, giving his grass type Pokemon some much needed rest. Then, he went out for dinner when it was around six o'clock, while the sun was still not completely down. When he was returning back to the Pokemon Center, filled with delicious Goldenrod flavors in his digestion, he noticed a young boy was sitting on a bench crying.
"hey there, you alright? What's wrong? Did you hurt yourself?" The aspiring doctor asked, and was about to asked to see if the child have any pain or injuries, but he figured he'll wait till the boy respond first. It wasn't like the kid was unconscious.

It was nearing Dusk but the bustle of Goldenrod never really seemed to diminish; just a different sort of crowd tended to roam the streets. The billboards and flashing signs well made up for the lack of sunlight as it made its descent in the sky, now but a nice warm glow on the horizon. It was a beautiful night. Perfect for going out and having some fun, gambling, or simply riding your bike around town. However, as Alex made his way through the streets toward the Poké Center after a delicious meal he took note of one young man that wasn't enjoying the sights. Once close it was clear that the kid had had a rough time. There were some scrapes and bruises on his legs and his shirt was torn a little aside from having some mud splatter. As Alex's voice piped up the boy's head jolted upward to lock eyes with the stranger. At first he was a bit afraid, but the trainer's tone was a caring one and Alex didn't look all too scary. "Well... no, I didn't hurt myself..." he began, fresh tears gathering at the corners of his reddened eyes. "It's not the bruises that's what's wrong. I-It's... M-M-My Horsea. I was out just playing with it, heading to the park but..."Tim had to pause to sniffle back some snot and tears. He took a shuddered breath, wrung his shirt in his hands, then suddenly burst out, "Some bullies came around the corner an-and asked me for a battle. I said fine and we started. But I lost... real bad. Then when I went to give them money for winning they refused and said I had to give up my Horsea! I told them no, but they started beating me up a-a-and..." He couldn't hold it back any longer, tears streaming down his cheeks as the sobbing returned. It was embarrassing enough to have lost so humiliatingly, but then to lose his partner too? He'd let Horsea down. That was worse than any of the bruises and little cuts. The youngster wiped his eyes with the back of his hand and adjusted his cap in shame. "I'm sorry. I'm just so... I don't usually cry like this but... my Horsea," He apologized. He looked back to Alex again and noticed the pokéballs. A quite gasp slipped his lips as an idea hit him. "My name's Tim," he offered with a flicker of a smile. "You're a trainer right? Would... Would you help get my Horsea back? I don't have any other pokémon and I can't take the bully alone. Could you mister, please?" He paused, big pleading puppy-dog eyes sparkling up at the aspiring doctor. "I know where they went. There's this awful maze of allies not far away. They like to hang out in there."Youngster Tim begs you to recover his Horsea Proceed to Alley Maze and choose a path to begin your search

Alex listened as the boy cried between sobs and sniffles and words. Tim, the boy's name, eventually did give Alex a background of what was going on. So he had lost a Pokemon battle and some trash decided to just steal the kid's Pokemon too... Those were obviously criminals! They also seemed to like hanging out in some maze alley in this city. Perhaps it was poorly planned urban planning or oversight, but that would be something else for some other time.
"Alright, I got you, Tim. Are you safe out here without a Pokemon then? Do you have another Pokemon? If you think you're fine, then I'll go and get your Horsea back for you," Alex replied to the child, and was wondering how he would defend himself should another group of bully, or team rocket showed up to harass the kid, Just because one group of people stole your Pokemon, it didn't mean another group can't come and steal your money or beat you up. if he got a confirmation that Tim was ok, he would make his way toward the Alley Maze.

"Don't worry about me mister, I can take care of myself. Just... not in there..." the boy assured, spirits visibly lifted upon hearing that Alex would help him out. He put his hands at the edge of his seat, leaning forward with a beaming expression. "I'll just wait right here! Thank you so much for going to get my horsea."
With Tim's confidence that he would be fine for a while out on the streets it was just a matter of finding that alley and delving into this 'maze'. As Alex would soon find out the kid wasn't exaggerating. There seemed to be no grid pattern governing this place. Paths were winding and crisscrossing on angles, sometimes up to 5 paths intersecting at once. Alex found himself standing at once such place, the way forward a mystery. He'd have to decide which way to go from here carefully so as to not lose his way back out.
The first option was pleasant enough, dry and open with only a few things seeming to line the sides. It seemed to be well frequented, with the smell of restaurants wafting down. The next was similar, though a bit more wet. Puddles littered the way, whether dips or potholes it was hard to tell from here. The third had a set of burnt tracks visibly marking the path black, signaling some horseplay recently. And the final path was well stacked with boxes and a faint noise of shuffling could be heard.
Which way would Alex go?

OOC: can you swap sandshrew for beautifly since im pausing my dream thread?
After getting his confirmation, Alex ended up in an alleyway with five paths intersecting at once. However, who on earth designed this was his first thought. No sane architect or city planning would approve such a confusing path would they? But then, he remembered that he needed to find this boy's Horsea. What was so special about a Horsea anyways?
He examined the path based on his sense of smell and sight, limited to what he could see in his field of vision. First was a dry and neat place smelling of food. For people running criminal activity like stealing Pokemon, a foodie place probably wasn't the place to hide in. Then there were some puddles in the second path. Well, if they're smart they wouldn't want to step on puddles, that are probably muddy, and leave footprints. Then, it was a path with tracks and another path with some noises going on. Having crossed out the first two paths off his mind, he had decided he would try the path with the tracks first. He followed the tracks and see where he would end up.

After careful deduction the aspiring doctor began down the path following the burnt tire tracks. The attention to detail was a valuable skill to say the least, as after a minute or so of trekking down the alleyway he heard the clang of metal and a roar of an engine. The vehicle was revved a couple times, loud and crackling like one of those obnoxious motorcycles one hears in the twilight hours of the night ripping down empty streets. No doubt Alex was coming up on some hooligans; the perfect candidates for having a hand in this horsea stealing business. The ripple of the engine died down and a pair of voices could be heard. Alex was coming up on an opening in the alley, though he could see on the far side a fence blocking off further travel. No doubt he was approaching some little pocket at a dead end where some people doing dastardly deeds liked to hang out. And he'd be right. Once the man had stepped into the boxed city clearing his eyes were met with a pair of gang members sporting a large krokorok head. The larger of the two was facing the alley entrance and spotted him immediately. "Hey, what's this now? A visitor." The gravely voice of his companion made the bald headed one turn away from the motorcycle to have a look at their guest. Both of them grinned devilishly. The thin bald man stood up, a rag in his hand wiping off the grease. "We don't get many visitors here," the smooth headed one began, eyeing Alex hungrily. "But we know how to greet a trainer. Isn't that right Cliff?""Well kid? A customary battle?" the burly one offered with a hint of mockery. Without any further words both of them sent forth their pokémon. Hooligans Gary & Cliff have challenged Alex to a double battle! They sent out their Gurdurr (LV 31) & Graveler (LV 31)

Following the path of tire tracks, Alex soon heard the sound of engine revving, and the sound of metal clanging and stuff. He then could smell the stench of vehicular exhaust, and it didn't take him long to locate the villain to the young boy's lost Horsea. They were some interesting characters to meet with.
"So a Pokemon battle, huh? If I win, how about you return the actual kid his Horsea?" Alex replied, noting the start of tension between them. He quickly grabbed two Pokeballs to send into the field, summoning his Ivysaur and his Dustox. "Tackzill, use Psybeam on the Gurdurr. Saurobix, use Razor Leaf on the Graveler!" He ordered, and his Pokemon got straight to work. It had been a while since Alex had been in a double or triple battle, and this would be a nice test of his skill and coordination between his Pokemon.

The two burst out laughing. The roars were nearly as loud as the engine revved earlier. "Is that why you're wandering around here all alone?" the bald one finally got out, a devilish grin crossing his face as he fake-wiped a tear from his eyes. "Some sniveling whiner sent you off into the maze cause he isn't man enough to win back his own pokémon? Hah!""Unlucky for you the horsea isn't here, but now that you bring up the topic maybe we'll set similar stakes for this battle," Cliff added. The burly man leaned forward to hunch over the handle bars of his ride. With hungry grins the pair of hooligans gave their own commands and the battle began. "Gurdurr, you deal with the grass type. Use Chip Away!""Graveler, Smack Down that pesky flyer."Tackzill was the first to move, easily out speeding all others on the field. Her antennae vibrated and she hung in the air for a moment, letting the pattern of her wings catch the eye of their muscular opponent. Gurdurr couldn't help but be drawn the hypnotic movements, and he immediately had regrets as the psychic beam shot out and smacked him straight on the noggin. Saurobix was less flashy, but he didn't need to catch Graveler's attention; just needed him to stay still. An array of razor leaves flew through the air and sliced across the various cracks in the rock type's natural armor. Graveler wailed its gravely wail, taken aback by the attack. Gurdurr was next, strutting up wielding the large steel girder over his shoulder. Though, while ivysaur's attention went to the potential weapon the fighter landed a solid chop with his free hand right into Saurobix's side. It smarted, but the flower pokémon was easily able to gain a bit of distance, hissing a growl at the gurdurr. Finally Graveler moved, rolling up to Tackzill like a toppling boulder it lunged into the air. Once close enough to the moth the rock uncurled and slapped the dustox down with all four of its hands, dropping Tackzill to the ground and leaving his wings damaged. "Um, I've been a trainer all alone all this time, what makes this alley any different than getting lost in Ilex?" Alex replied, sounding confused about the thug's comment, as if loneliness was a threat or something.
"Oh well, I'll just keep looking for the Horsea, but thanks for letting my Ivysaur slice that boulder," The trainer replied, just slightly disappointed that the Horsea wasn't there, but he was glad to train his Ivysaur particularly. "Alright, give them another Psybeam and Razoe Leaf!"
Tackzill was a bit wrecked from the Graveler's super effective attack, but he wasn't going down yet. He kept his focus on the fighting type Pokemon, and got ready to blast another Psybeam. Ivysaur, on the other hand, was elated to unleash another Razor Leaf. He smiled at the Graveler as a goodbye.

The bullies prized their brawny outlook and brawny Pokemon. The Graveler and Gurdurr had a certain smug look on their faces, what did they have to be smug about? Alex would wipe that little face right off those entitled Pokemon. Surely it was because their trainers were little punks as well.
Tackzill followed Alex’s command and used its psychic power to manipulate the Gurdurr, it targeted the fighting by clouding up its mind. Shortly after, Saurobix used a razor leaf attack on the Graveler. The Ivysaur proved to be very useful in battle as the rock Pokemon was done for. The punk groaned as his Graveler fainted. “Ugh… I can’t believe I’ve been defeated by you.” The other trainer still had his Gurdurr though. “Hrmp… Gurdurr use your chip away on that Dustox!” The battle was not over yet, the fighting Pokemon went in for an attack despite being at a clear disadvantage. Weather: ClearGraveler | LV 31 | Rock Head HP: 0% (0/84) Status: Normal Fainted! Gurdurr | LV 31 | Guts HP: 23% (24/103) Status: Normal Used Chip Away on Tackzill! "Well, let's clean up this mess. Psybeam and Razor Leaf again!" Alex grinned after the last round was over. He kept his orders on his Pokemon to be the same. The double battle was sudden, but that did not mean he would lose in strategics. He watched as his bug type launched another psychic beam and his grass type launched another flurry of paper thin slicing menace. After all, those big bullies seemed to be all talk and just looking tough. Now, he wondered where on earth would that Horsea had gone to. OOC: post sorry

"C'mon Gurdurr, get that annoying moth outta the way. Rock Slide!" the biker growled through gritted teeth. His fists were clenched as he brought it up in a tough motion. His bald friend was less interested in keeping up the tough guy act though, breaking from the man's side and getting the motorcycle going. This startled Gary looked behind him in confusion and slight betrayal while his poor fighting pokémon was bowled over by a flurry of psychic energy and razor sharp leaves. There was no chance of coming back from that. "Hey! What..?" he started to shout at his ally before the engine roared to life. The two shared a look of understanding before Gary twisted back around and recalled his fainted pokémon. "Grats kid!" the burly man yelled over the bubble of engine kicking into gear behind him. "You win this one, but don't think that's the end of it!" he threatened. As he finished Cliff spun the wheels of his bike and charged toward the alleyway. Gary ran off to the side to start the other vehicle and follow suit; leaving Alex alone at the dead end. VICTORY!
Saurobix and Tackzill each gained 1550xp and +1 Happiness! (+10 & +6) Saurobix grew to LV 30! Tikikala grew to LV 17 thanks to EXP Share!
Hooligans Gary & Cliff were defeated! They dropped £300. They didn't have Horsea though, looks like it's back to the maze! Choose another alley path

After he had defeated the bikers, Alex didn't have time to return his Pokemon before the opponent spun away in their motorcycles. After they were gone, he exhaled in relief as he wasn't a fan of those exhaust fumes. He went to checked on his Pokemon, especially after those rock type attacks, He grabbed a potion or two from his bag, and gave the medicine to his Pokemon to drink. Then, he thanked his moth and cabbage frog and returned them to their Pokeball.
As he was walking back, he wondered if he hade made an incorrect guess, as where could the Horsea thieves would had gone. He backtracked until he was in the center point of the maze again, and pondered. Did he missed a clue? Did he misinterpreted a clue? Did he overthink? He shook his head to try to clear his head out, and decided to follow the path with the puddles. What if the Horsea shot some water gun as a clue? But what if the Horseas wasn't able to? He decided to take a gamble down this path.
OOC: Used one Super potion on dustox and 1 potion on ivysaur

As Alex wandered down the wet pathway, he would notice that it was a maze in itself. Large potholes were carved out within the asphalt and cement pathways. Inside of the potholes sat a pool of dirty water, whose depths seemed as black as tar itself. Some of the puddles of water seemed to glisten with small, eerie splashes of oddly colored rainbows within their oil-mixed bases. Many just created reflections of the viewer when one would try to peer inside of them. And while Alex could easily walk around most of them, some of the potholes stretched in jagged formations across one side of the alleyway to the other – causing the eighteen year old to have to carefully jump over or walk through their muddy depths. Though, wait…they couldn’t be that deep, could they? One footstep in some would prove that they were barely an inch deep, but a footstep in others would prove to be nearly up to your knees…. how? A noise called out in the distance. Some knocked over trashcans and dumpsters that seemed to have rusted through on their sides spilled bits of trash and debris around the area. The closer Alex wandered inside of the alleyway, the more powerful the stench would become! It smelled as if someone had rolled a dirty diaper inside of a moldy batch of cookie dough and coated it in used cat litter! Something faint hinted around the edges, as though an added layer of perfume. The fresh smell of vomit was unmistakable among the rubble. Could Alex and his nose survive the stench alone, or would they need to turn tail and run back in the direction they came? Before Alex could spin around and try to escape the worst stench of his life, the familiar noise would make itself known. A huge pile of trash moved back and forth, as bits of discarded paper and mushy banana peels rolled from the top of the heap and scattered on the ground around its base. A small green sentient trash bag seemed to pop up. Its top head was tied off, as though whatever had been stuffed in the bag was better hidden than seen, and two large eyes peered at Alex curiously. Before he could move, the Trubbish would begin spitting up thick piles of smelly slime. And as the scent from the slime wafted back up to greet Alex, he would recognize exactly where the hint of vomit had originated from… A Wild Trubbish appeared! Level 27. What will Alex do? Notes: Deducted -1 Super Potion & -1 Potion. Saurobix Health [73/85] | Tackzill Health [85/87]

As Alex walked down this path, he noticed the puddles on the floor aren't all water. Some of them have an oily composition on top, where it reflected light into a greasy rainbow shimmer. As he continued down, his nose couldn't help but notice the stench was awful and stinky. While Goldenrod might seems like a bright and colorful city, inside there's a dark and stinky alleyway, or more. He thought he heard some noise around too, but at first he thought it was just some trash losing balance from poorly thrown on top of each other.
Then, he noticed something moving in a pile of trash. Eventually, a creature that also looked like a trash popped up on its own, with eyes! That was a monster he won't be pocketing himself! The creature's movement shook the stench in the air quite a bit, and Alex felt like he was gonna puke or vomit if he stayed in this stink any longer. He backed a little, but the creature was actually small. However, as he backed, the creature sent some stinky projectiles at his way. Alex held his breath, and tossed out a Pokeball.
"Tackzill, use Psybeam on this," he gagged, "thing!"
Out from the ball, a purple moth hummed happily, and then glowed her eyes to prepare for a psychic attack.
OOC: Tackzill used Psybeam
note to self: burnt fire track and puddles track taken
