Nathan started his walk from New Bark to Cherrygrove. In any trainer like fashion he didn't get very far, the half the day it took him to make the walk. A strong wind started to pick up and Nathan was trying to brace against it. Hestia who was by his side since the fight in New Bark looked less like a dog and massive ball of fluff. Nathan couldn't help but let out a little chuckle before he got a swift headbutt to the back of the shin for his troubles.
Finding a house in the middle of the route he wondered the best course of action. Could he make it to the city? But a strong gust proved that it be best to just try and see if anyone is home. Nathan not knowing his own strength pounded at the door. It was a while before someone answered but the door creaked open.
Mr. Pokémon opened the door of his shack, letting out a contented sigh as he set eyes on Nathan. It seemed to be a nice day, and to top it all he had a visitor. That was rare. The old man was dressed in a smart brown-coloured suit with matching tie and what looked like a grey shirt underneath, though the latter was a little difficult to determine in the low light of Mr. Pokémon's abode.
"Good afternoon, young man!" the elderly gentleman started, offering Nathan a hand. "Pleasant weather, by the looks of it. If a little blustery, perhaps. Do come in!" He stepped aside, gesturing for the trainer to walk inside. The place itself was rather quaint, with not much to speak of. A lone armchair sat in the middle of the room, accompanied by a small coffee table. On top of said table was a small, ovoid object. It looked like an egg, though why such a thing would be lying around in this house was unclear. Looking around a little more, there appeared to be a small kitchenette in the far corner as well, with a used dish sitting in the sink. In the corner to Nathan's left, a staircase led upward to what one could only assume was the bedroom.
The house's inhabitant picked up a collapsible chair leaning against the wall and snapped it into shape, placing it down opposite his armchair before sitting himself down in the latter. "Have a seat, if you wish. My name is... well, people call me Mr. Pokémon. I'm something of a Pokémon researcher, if you will." After the introduction, his expression turned a little more pensive. "Actually, I'm glad to see a trainer like yourself come by. I have a bit of a puzzle on my hands." Mr. Pokémon gestured to the egg-like item in front of him. "I'm sure you'll recognise it yourself; you look an experienced fellow. This is a Pokémon egg. I happened upon it a while ago and have been studying it ever since, but I can't make head nor tail of it. It's quite the mystery." He groaned softly in displeasure.
"To be honest, this isn't my area of expertise. Young Elm would know a bit more about this thing than I. He'd probably be able to identify the species within too. So I'd like to ask you a favour." The old man picked up the egg and presented it to Nathan a little forcefully. "I'd like you to take this to the Pokémon Research Laboratory in New Bark Town. Professor Elm is an old acquaintance of mine, and I'm sure he'd love to take a look at this curiosity." He stopped speaking for half a second, then blurted out another sentence before letting Nathan respond. "I don't have much money, I'm afraid, but I'll find some way to compensate you for your trouble if you'd do this for me." With the promise of a reward finally out there, he relaxed in his seat. "All I want is to crack this mystery, if you'll pardon the pun." He chuckled, the egg in his hands still up close to Nathan's body as he waited for the answer.
Mr. Pokemon has presented you with a Mysterious Egg!
He wants you to take it back to Professor Elm's Lab in New Bark Town!

Nathan followed the strange man into the house. His house was small and warmly Nathan sat down the other side of the man as he explained about the weird looking thing was. He looked at egg and nodded. "Sure, I can I just came from there! he said standing up again.
He carefully took the egg into his bag making sure it was upright and was supported. Hestia who was still out of her Pokeball starting looking over into the bag to see the egg. "Be careful Hestia we know you're not the most graceful of dogs!" he chuckled. Hestia, however, found it pretty offensive. Nathan got up from kneeling over and made his way back out to the windy day. "Hopefully we'll be back soon!" he called. With that he and Hestia made their way back to new bark town.
As Nathan made his way back to New Bark Town, the wind started to settle a little. It was rather remarkable how the conditions could change with such little distance, but such was the region of Johto's fickle weather. Though something was off. There was something moving nearby, but Nathan wouldn't actually have seen anything at all. As he progressed toward Route 29, the bushes would begin to rustle louder and louder, seemingly foreshadowing some kind of encounter. And before long, the culprit would make themselves known.
"Hold it right there!" a relatively young voice shouted from somewhere ahead of Nathan. Jumping out from a deep thicket of trees, a man clad entirely in black quickly blocked his target's path. The fellow looked younger than Nathan, to be perfectly honest, but that hardly seemed to deter him. The only notable feature on his person was a bright red "R" emblazoned on his torso, contrasting quite well with his otherwise dark attire. "If you want to walk out of here in one piece, you'd better hand over that Egg," the guy continued sternly, producing a Pokéball from his waist as he threatened his would-be victim.
After waiting for only a few seconds, the criminal would toss his ball out into the open to reveal a small Kantonian Rattata. The rodent stepped forward slowly, hissing and spitting to try and look menacing. "I ain't got all day, so hurry it up!" the man continued, growing less patient by the femtosecond. The pair definitely didn't look like they were in a mood to negotiate, though it wasn't entirely clear why they were so keen on this mysterious object.
A Rocket Grunt has challenged Nath- OK. He has threatened Nathan. Same difference! He sends out his Rattata (Level 6) to "persuade" Nathan to give up the Egg.
How will Nathan respond to this "encouragement"?
Though, I mean, you'd better fight. That's kinda the only answer that I can actually work with.

Nathan was about to start on his adventure with the egg but before he did. He got out a piece of cake and Hestia looked confused. "What? It was my birthday I saved some cake for you" Hestia wagged her tail happily. He let out Spark and Annabelle to also enjoy the cake. They seemed stronger after eating the cake.
As the tall male started to make his way down the path he heard, but he noticed a weird rustling and so did Hertia they stopped and looked at a man came out the trees. "You really need to work on your stealth" he mumbled. But this little kid was seeming to challenge Nathan.
Nathan smiled "A challenge is easy. what are thinking we'll lose. That would be silly! Ok, Hestia use bite!" he called to the pup by his side. Hestia jumped in front of her owner growling show her teeth. Ready to bite when the fight really started.
"Well if I didn't think you could lose I wouldn't have challenged," the young rocket blustered. He waved a fist in the air to accompany his words then pointed at the striped hound with a determined look. "Just cause you got one of those favorite police dogs doesn't mean you're going to win old man." The rocket's rattata hissed in agreement, fur standing on end as she sized Hestia up. She didn't look so tough. Just a pup still it seemed. The rodent twitched her nose as she continued staring, but the longer she looked the more unnerved she became. The youthful growlithe bore down and growled menacingly. Her teeth bared and fur bristled she barked at the criminal as if she were a well trained bloodhound.
The noise and sudden change in the growlithe's demeanor brought a shiver down Rattata's spine. She almost squeaked with the momentary rise in fear. It didn't go unnoticed by the Rocket Grunt. "Don't let them get under your skin Rattata. They're not tough," he paused a second in thought. "And just to prove it get up there with a Tail Whip!"
The purple rat felt a bit more reassured with her trainer's confidence and set forth. Straight toward those pearly whites the rodent ran, eyes narrowed and her own bucktooth shining white as if in a teeth competition. However, as she neared she jumped and spun, whapping Hestia in the nose with her tail and landing to just to the side. Hestia was taken aback, blinking as she replayed what had just happened. Was that it? Was that all they could do? That was nothing.
Dropping her guard at the seemingly pitiful display, the pup darted in for the smaller pokémon and managed to bite down on one of her opponent's back legs. Rattata squeaked and kicked, pushing Hestia off and retreating back away so there was distance between them again. The Rocket Grunt was grinning ear to ear. "Good job Rattata. See? Not so tough."

Nathan let a little smile crack at the side of mouth at the response the runt gave. But otherwise unmoving body langue. Nathan watched at the small rat ran up to Hestia and waved its tail in his dog’s face.
Hestia looked at the Rattata after biting it and smirked but quickly rested her head on her front paws with her tail up in the air she wagged it happily as she was enjoying this fight. This was what her trainer had been talking about the fight for good and evil and she was right by his side! She barked happily.
The tall older male rested his hand on his chin wondering what they should do. But it was clear for him anyway, and probably for the grunt. But it was the pups only useful battle move and so he was going to use. He was also going to use some speed in his attack. “ok Hestia!” he smirked. “Let’s show this criminal what will happen to him when I get into the police force punks like him won't matter anymore. Hestia use bite twice!”
"Being the quiet and mysterious type isn't going to work on me!" The grunt declared with a huff as Nathan stayed silent. A scowl followed when Hestia acted like this was nothing more than a game to her, that was an insult to him and what he stood for. "You might not know what you are up against, but I will show you to fear Team Rocket and that it is in your best interest to do as I tell you. The police stand no chance here, and you will either learn it now or be trampled if you stand in the way!" the grunt threatened and dramatically threw out his arm while Nathan gave his orders to Hestia. "Rattata, show it what you are made of! Tackle to show your strength and follow it up with Quick Attack, it will have no chance of keeping up with you!" He shouted and Rattata lifted her head proudly. What he said was true, she had been training with Team Rocket, not for long but long enough to know that the gang was the strongest there was and that being with them was being on the winning team!
Rattata didn't hesitate and leaped straight at Hestia and attempted to throw her off balance, but Hestia's bigger weight kept her on her paws and she only staggered a few steps backwards. She snapped out after the purple rat and her teeth graced the skin of her opponent but Rattata darted away too fast for her to get a proper grip. Rattata sped up and made it impossible for Hestia to keep up, she would have to wait until Rattata got close to her again. She didn't have to wait long as Rattata dived in under the growlithe and arched her back in another attempt to throw the fire type off her feet, Hestia stumbled and fell on top of the rattata. With the rat pinned below her she grabbed the scruff of neck and gave Rattata a good shake that lasted until Rattata managed to flail herself loose. Both pokemon would be panting heavily when they broke apart.

Nathan narrowed his eyes and he watched the attacks go off. It wasn't looked good for his pup, and he knew that and so did his now panting puppy. While he started to think about all that had lead him to this moment he had to not let team rocket win.
Quickly grabbing his backpack off his shoulder and rooting around inside he finally found it. A potion! "OK. Hestia here girl. I have something for you." While dogs were smart just hatched puppies had only just learnt how to use her moves. She turned and looked at Nathan wagging her tail confused for a bit before walking over. Was it she was learning basic dog commands or she was just curious? He wasn't sure.
Nathan giving her a quick spray to store some health spray and he smiled. "You will not win this day. We will keep fighting til you are no more crook! Hestia use bite!"
"Good, but you need to stay away from those teeth," the grunt told his rattata as she limped over to him. She nodded, she would prefer that too. "See? They are scared of you, he doesn't think his pokemon handle another round and if you are fast enough you can still take it down!" The grunt declared and Rattata looked at him with new resolve. "Give it all you got! Quick Attack!" The grunt ordered while pointing dramatically.
Rattata stumbled forward, she was still rattled from the shaking Hestia gave her earlier and felt battered. She did her best to pick up speed but her first "quick attack" more looked like a normal tackle. Hestia was by no means prepared for it and Nathan barely got to finish applying the potion before the growlithe staggered backwards from Rattata's attack. Hestia lunged after Rattata but she managed to pick up speed for real now and easily dodged out of the way. She laughed at the dog as she raced around and knocked the feet away under Hestia and made her fall to the ground. Rattata was getting tired though and she stumbled once again which Hestia took advantage of and jumped at the rat.
"Lucky hit," the grunt grumbled as he recalled his unconscious rattata, "but you won't be as lucky this time!" He released a zubat that fluttered around his head. The grunt smiled confidently, Hestia certainly didn't look well and he was sure his zubat could finish her off quickly. He wanted that egg!

(edit/ooc: just noting I have updated levels and deducted a potion now I can do that. I seemed to have forgotten to ask about it back when I modded this and couldn't do it myself)

Nathan let out a small smirk as the rat Pokemon fainted while, he took no joy in another's fainting, He couldn't let a criminal just take from someone. He left his family to do this, so he wasn't going to let his first criminal win. But the love he had for his friends he knew Hestia couldn't take more hits.
"Come back Hestia" the well know red beam came out the Pokeball and shot back into the ball with his most trusted Pokemon. He held it to his chest and a smile threatened to grace his lips before he whispered "Good fight Hestia".
While the sweet moment was just that a moment. He was quick to tuck the Pokeball in his belt and pull out another. There was a small pause before he threw the Pokeball on to the battlefield. Out popped a Shinx who snap looked left and right to where he was. "Alright Spark. We have to try this. Use Thunder fang."
The grunt scowled as Nathan recalled his pup, as it probably meant the man was about to send out another pokemon. While the grunt was ready to do all it took to get hold of that egg he worried it wouldn't be enough, zubat was a new recruit and not as trained as rattata. It would have easily could have taken out Hestia, no doubt about it but Nathan might have stronger pokemon on his team it would struggle against. The grunt's eyes went wide as the shinx appeared, his zubat was doomed, he just knew it! "Supersonic! Hurry up!" He screamed at his flying but, but it needed to locate the electric type first and by the time it had done that, Spark was already leaping at it. The bat went limp the moment the electricity hit it and the grunt looked panicked, he rummaged in his pockets and dropped something before he pulled out two spheres. One turned out to be zubat's pokeball and it disappeared in a red flash, the other he threw on the ground and when it exploded the clearing got filled with smoke.
With little wind it would take quite some time for the smoke to disappear again, and when it did Nathan and his pokemon were alone and still had the egg, they had scared off the grunt. On the ground they would find a few bucks which he had dropped but no other signs were left of his whereabouts. The road was clear to the professor.

Nathan sighed as the rocket grunt ran off, it had been quite a day considering, all he wanted to do was help the Profesor do some research. "What a day. But at least we got some practice in before joining the IPF" he chuckled to Spar, but Spark had already heard something just off the path and was about to dart towards it.
The older man sighed and grabbed Sparks Pokeball and recalled the fight happy Shinx."Wow. Lilith was right about you. Amazing fighter but aggressive. We have much training to do with you" he told the Pokeball before adding it to his belt. Retrieving the egg from his bag, before swinging it back on to his back He started to walk off.
As he set off a weird crunching noise happened under his feed where he looked down and saw money on the path. "Oh. I guess this is what he dropped." he muttered to himself while bending down to pick up the money. As he reached the house he knocked on the door. "Hello? I have the egg" he announced.
It took some time before someone answered, a man with ruffled brown hair and a bit distracted look opened the door. "Oh, hello, I thought I heard something here at the door," the man said and glanced over his shoulder, "I don't know where my assistances are, they were supposed to watch the door as well, I'm waiting someone to come," he continued but it was unclear if it was to himself or to Nathan. "What can I help you with?" The man asked and Nathan had to repeat that he was here with the egg, but then the man noticed the egg Nathan was holding and his eyes widened in realization. "Oh, Oh! You are the one I'm waiting for!" He exclaimed and opened the door fully and gestured to Nathan to step in. "I'm so sorry, I'm Professor Elm and Mr. Pokemon said he had sent someone here with an egg I should look at, but I got so engrossed in my preparation that time has flown away, have you been waiting long?" He asked as he lead the way down the corridor and into a research lab.
Professor Elm went straight to his desk and turned on his PC, before he held out his hands to Nathan to hand over the egg. "Now let us see," Elm said as she gently turned the egg in his hands, and occasionally clicked the mouse to see something on the computer, he clearly compared the egg to what he had on there. If Nathan went around to see the screen he would see rows of pictures of eggs, there was a lot to go through to find the right one. "It is not an egg I have seen before, this is very exciting," Elm said with a grin and then paused and looked closer at a screen, and then to the egg. He clicked the picture and he beamed, "Ha! I got it!" He said triumphantly, "it is a pyukumuku egg!"
He minimized the program he had for the eggs and dialed someone on the PC instead. "Hello?" A familiar voice said from the screen. "Mr. Pokemon! I have it! It is a pyukumuku egg! What a rarity in this region," Professor Elm said cheerfully. "Really?! That was unexpected!" Mr Pokemon exclaimed excitedly and then added, "is the delivery man still with you? I never got his name but I want to thank him." Professor Elm pulled Nathan closer so that Mr. Pokemon could see him through the screen. "Ah! Thank you so much for you help, I'm grateful to know what kind of egg it was I had found," he said with a smile, "I'm not much of a trainer though, I'm too old to take care of new hatchlings so I'd like to give you the egg as my way of saying thank you. I am sure you will be able to hatch it and give it a great future!" Professor Elm picked up the egg and handed it to Nathan, both men waited expectantly on his agreement and reaction. After that he was free to leave.
Quest complete! Mr. Pokémon has entrusted the Egg to you! It's a Pyukumuku Egg!
