Ray was extremely excited. This was his first Bug Catching Contest here in Johto and he planned to get at least placing. He entered with Tails.EXE, whom actually shared his enthusiasm for once. The contest gave this denizen of the spirit world a real chance to bond with Ray in this new Abra body without the interference of the rest of his team. While some contestants followed the stone path, Ray immediately strayed from it, hoping to scour the wilder areas of the park and find some real rare bugs.

Sport Balls Left: 15 1/5 Encounters Metapod [Shed Skin]: Normal Tails.EXE [Synchronize]: Normal Rare pokémon were not the only ones that could be found on the outskirts of the action. A certain cocoon was stuck out there, unable to get much closer and too afraid to draw any attention by zipping up a tree. Instead, Metapod sat up in the grass hoping no one would take notice thanks to its natural camouflage... Sadly visual stealth didn't really work against psychic types. Ray sighed when the first Bug they could find was a Metapod. First encounter and it had to be something that wasn't even worth it's weight in points.
"Ok, Tails.EXE," he said, not exactly excited about having to waste his first encounter, "Use Psychic and we'll see if we can find something with a bit more weight."

 Tails.EXE grew to LV 16 and gained +1 Happiness! (+2)  What's this?! Tails.EXE is trying to evolve! Allow it? If so he will learn Kinesis, and try to learn Confusion; delete an old move?
The gem in Tails.EXE's possession flared to life, dissolving into the ether of the psychic attack and powering it up a significant amount. What the poor metapod did to deserve such a thrashing it will never know. The overpowering attack swept over the cocoon pokémon like a hurricane. When it was finished Metapod was no where to be seen. |

As Tails.EXE defeated the Metapod and evolved in the process, Ray was applauded his old friend.
"Quite the display, old chum," he said, patting his newly minted Kadabra on the back, "To think that only took you.... Wait a minute."
Ray noticed the Metapod was nowhere to be seen and couldn't help but think the worst.
"I think we broke that Metapod!!!" He yelled, "we just took the life of an innocent creature!!! We're MURDERERS, Tails.EXE!!!!"
"Don't be ridiculous," Tails.EXE said, rolling his eyes, "it probably just got blown away by my attack. Besides, you can't 'break' Pokémon. They're living creatures not cheap china ware. Now let's find something we can catch for a win."
(Tails.EXE will evolve, forgetting Teleport and learning Confusion in the process)

Drawn in by the brilliant light of Tails.EXE's transformation, Ray was greeted with a rare sight. What looked like a medieval helmet had waddled its way into their midst. It took a moment, but once the moving ornament stopped and tilted its head upward it was clear that this wasn't some animated helm: it was a Shelmet! It stared up at the impressive sight of the evolved pokémon with goofy pursed lips, but it had a spark in its eye that Ray would probably know well by now. It was time for a fight! 7M78S9HL1-421-42

Ray was absolutely ecstatic at the site of such a rare insect. This would surely be a good catch for at least placing. This time here would be no breaking. Tails.EXE was also fascinated by the creature before him. Where does a bug get a knight's helmet?
"Ok, Tails.EXE," he said, popping his shirt collar to look more cool, "use Confusion and let's see how much pain this hy can take."

It blinked as it watched the warped visuals come in stronger and swiftly regretted its decision. At the absolute last moment it closed its eyes, just narrowly missing the worst of the attack. When it was over the shelmet was even more wobbly than it had been before, so it opted to do a maneuver that required no movement on its own part. Shelmet bunkered down and try to steel itself.

Ray wasn't entirely sure how much damage Tails.EXE had done to the Shelmet and he didn't want to risk losing this catch. To that end, Ray flung his first Sport Ball at the medieval mullask and hoped for the best.
"Hold your fire, Tails.EXE," he said, "this could be our big break."

"Woooooo" Ray yelled, feeling the adreneline of his victory, "anyone seeing this? I know there ain't but damn it makes he feel good."
"Sorry to interrupt your ego trip," Tails.EXE sighed, "but surely we could find something even more impressive. We still have 3 encounters left to find our prize."
Ray nodded and the two continued into the wild area of the park. If they stick to these unkept lands of tall grass, they could find a true magnificent prize.
(Replace Telekinesis with Disable)

Ray was a bit startled by the eyes of the Venonat as they popped out of the grass. However, after a quick recovery, he realized what the thing before him was. Comparing the previously caught Shelmet to this new arrival, Ray couldn'tg help but feel disappointed.
"Looks like another low end bug on the point scale," he said, directing Tails.EXE, "Use Psychic and we'll see if we can find another good one before the contest ends."

Continuing along the pair wouldn't get far before something else came lumbering their way. Taller and more menacing than the fluffy venonat, a rough skinned pinsir emerged from the wilds of the park and hissed angrily. BCC Encounter
