Claw fossil claim threadgo to Box 1 at the bottom please. short post After he checked out of Violet City Pokemon Center, he made haste toward Goldenrod City Pokemon Center. Then, he made his way to the Research Facility, where he had a few hours left until sunset. He was surprised he made it at all, and did not need to wait until tomorrow. Entering the facility, he greeted the assistance and handed over some cash and the Claw Fossil. He poured himself a complimentary warm cup of tea to drink, and closed his eyes briefly to rest himself. When he was done resting his eyes, he realized only a few minutes had past, so he began flipping through a magazine in the waiting area until the machines finished their revival of the fossil. When he finally calmed down, he began thinking what to do with the incoming Anorith. He figured he should look into the right people who could help him with getting the new Pokemon acquainted in the new world.

Many of Goldenrod’s residents would often hurry by the front doors of the research facility while whispering and shaking their heads in disapproval. There were days where different groups would try to boycott the facility, staging protests in front of their front doors and barring entry to anyone who tried to push past them to get inside. It was unethical. Inhumane. Torturous, even. These were the rude and hurtful things that many of the assistants who worked inside of the facility would hear relentless while just traveling to and from their place of work. When a new face pushed his way through the front doors and approached them, some of the assistants stopped dead in their tracks. Furrowed brows and stiffened frowns said everything that they didn’t. They didn’t trust black haired teenager. Some searched him with their sharp brown and hazel eyes, scrolling up and down the full length of his body in search of picket signs and signature slips to try and shut their company down. It was the newest assistant – a young pink haired twenty year old whose long locks spilled across her shoulders and down her sides in thick curls. Small freckles decorated her cheeks and washed across the exposed flesh of her arms in her medium-sleeved coat. “Oh hi! Please forgive the mess…are you here to help or…?”Alex would produce a strange looking rock with a singular long claw etched inside of the mass. The pink haired lady gasped, pressing both of her hands to her cheeks in shock. She jumped backwards and bumped against a small oak wood desk behind her, causing it to rock back and forth and clatter against the tile ground underfoot. Some pieces of paper spilled off the desk’s top and fluttered to the ground in a messy heap around her. “Sir!...Do you know what this is?” She asked, then dropped her voice and leaned in close to Alex with shifty eyes as though she were paranoid they might be watched. But by who? “This is a Claw Fossil, rumored to be the last remains we have of an ancient Pokemon once called Anorith.” She then turned around and waved towards a tall older man with thick rimmed glasses and hickory dreads clad in a thick white robe that dropped just above his ankles. The older man rushed over to them clacking his walnut leather dress shoes against the sleek, clean floors. “What is it Malentha?” The other assistant asked, pressing two fingers in the center of the glasses to push them back up the bridge of his nose while avoiding touching the glass itself. “We’re in the middle of a breakthrough.” He snapped impatiently. The pink haired assistant playfully jabbed her dark brown haired assistant in the side and gestured towards Alex’s small fossil in his hands. “I promise you that this is more important, Nonnos. Could even be front page worthy of National Prehistoric!” She joked with a wink. Nonnos turned to Alex and gasped loudly when he realized what Alex was holding. “Sir! Do you know what you’re holding?!” Nonnos nearly shouted in a loud whisper. Malentha jabbed Nonnos in the ribs with her elbow once more and shushed him while quickly looking around to see if they were garnering any extra attention. “Yes, I told him.” But Nonnos just jabbed her back with his elbow. “That hurt you know…this is none other than a Claw Fossil! The last remaining DNA we have of the prehistoric Anorith! With your permission, sir, we could resurrect this little guy. What do you say?” Melantha would reach out eagerly to take the fossil from Alex and rushed off through one of the doors that led to another room. Loud whirring could be heard from the other side. “It’s…not cheap though…and we don’t really get much funding…so it’ll cost you a little for this fee.”Nonnos would quickly accept Alex’s payment and rushed off to stash it away in a secured location where they kept most of their funding that helped them stay afloat. Then Nonnos would rush off to the other room with Melantha, where they tapped on different buttons and pulled different knobs on the machines they used to resurrect the fossils. The Claw Fossil would begin to glow with a strange white light and slowly but surely the claw would begin to grow outward from itself, taking the shape of a strange looking metallic bug. Nonnos would be the one to bring the newly revived Pokemon back to Alex with a large smile plastered across his face. “By Arceus, we’ve done it! They said it couldn’t be done, and we’ve done it! Here’s your newly resurrected Anorith, sir!” Nonnos laughed happily, handing the Pokemon and its Pokeball over to Alex. Alex's fossil is successfully resurrected! Alex returned again, this time holding a Root Fossil on hand. He had the Root Fossil for a short while now, but he just got distracted and never went back to this Goldenrod Facility to revive it. He recognized some assistants from the last time, but may have forgotten their names again.
"Hello, uh, I have returned with another fossil." He stopped by the receptionist desk to register his name, and then waited in the lobby. This time, he was really excited about the Root Fossil because he knew it was a grass type, but he wasn't sure if he would be ready to train yet another Pokemon on his list. He'll have to figure out something, as he thought to himself. He got up again and pressed on the cool water machine to get a fresh cup of water to calm himself down.

After Alex handed the receptionist the Root Fossil they carried the fossil over to the fossil revival machine and powered it on. A big flash filled the machine as it scanned the fossil and within a few moments the machine filled with smoke obscuring the view of the fossil. Seconds later the machine door opened and a strange looking ancient plant Pokemon slowly crawled out. The receptionist picked up the odd Pokemon and carried it over to Alex. " Good news, we were able to revive this fossil as well, the root fossil contained the DNA of an ancient Pokemon known as Lileep." After putting the Lileep on the ground in front of Alex the receptionist walked back over to her position and patiently awaited the arrival of any further clients. CONGRATULATIONS, Lileep has been revived from the Root Fossil. Maxwell king » OOC: Finally have a Cranidos! Having spent time exploring Goldenrod City after a stint training his pokemon in the tunnel, Max had located the 'Goldenrod Research Facility' a modern looking building that was located right next to the Magnet Train Station that would travel to Saffron City. Max had acquired a Skull Fossil along his travels, the fossil was from a prehistoric Pokémon that lived on the land many eons ago and was in shape of a head. The Goldenrod Research Facility was renowned for possessing a machine that had the capability to resurrect extinct pokemon from fossils, this was something that Maxwell was extremely interested in. As Max entered through the glass sliding doors of the building he noticed multiple different individuals with white laboratory coats on, some young but most old, Maxwell couldn't help but murmur to himself in an almost inaudible tone in response to seeing the elderly looking people in lab coats,
"I guess the fossils aren't the only ancient things in this laboratory"
Maxwell now carrying his Skull Fossil like a baby in his arms stood observing the numerous machines that were spread across the facility, many of them looked capable of things that may not be described as ethical, for as rude and obnoxious as Max generally was, he realized that he was at the whim of those with the scientific knowledge to assist him. Using 1x Skull Fossil and $2,500 to revive a Cranidos!

The machinary which Max could see here right after entering wasn't really anything special, of course there were computers and machines for pokemon trading and scanning and stuff, but the real deal was further in. They wouldn't have the real expensive stuff out here where people could just waltz in and destroy something. A middle aged man came over with a notepad and a nervous expression, "ex..excuse me, do you have an appointment? If not I have to ask you to leave, we're very busy and we don't do guided tours around the lab," he said and straightened as he readied himself or a wave of complains and threats from Max, as the tourist usually did, and then all the trouble which would follow trying to get them to leave. "Wait a minute!" A young voice said and a female in her thirties wearing a labcoat, looking very much like an archeologist and with a nametag marking her as a senior member of the staff came rushing over, staring at the fossil excitedly. "That's a skull fossil! Where did you get that?" She exclaimed and bend over to look at it closely, "in pristine condition, I would love to try revive this one, if I may?" She looked hopefully up at Max, "You will get pokemon afterwards if we succeeds, I just need the data from it," she promised. As soon as Max accepted she would request to get the fossil from him, "Roger, clear my schedule, this is more important than whatever was planned anyway," she said to the assistant who opened and closed his mouth a few times to protest but she was already swiftly walking to the back while calling out to others to show what she had gotten and get them to help. The assistant scowled and mumbled something under his breath as he crossed out several things on his notepad and stomped away. A few days later Max would get a call from the lab, the scientist would excitedly tell him that everything had went as planned and there now was a cranidos waiting to get picked up by him at the lab. The assistant would spot him immediately he arrived and would lead him to a rather empty room where he could meet his new pokemon for the first time, and warn him their reactions could be a bit unpredictable since it was quite a change for them. Congratulations! Cranidos was revived from your fossil! The last time he was here, it was summer in Johto. Alex returned to the facility with an Odd Keystone on hand, and already prepared to talk to everyone here, regardless if they remember him or not. "Hi, I have stumbled across another fossil, but this one looked strange. Do you know what this would be?"Once the assistant or scientist got the Odd Keystone from him, he would wait patiently in a chair as the revival machine did its thing. He wasn't sure what to expect or what would come out of this, but he could only wait and see. In the meantime, he swung his legs and waited casually and began slouching a bit. He could hear various machines beeping in the background, papers being shuffled or rearranged, mugs being slurped, coffee machines brewing, and printers inking information on a blank sheet of paper edit: putting it in Ethan Box 3

The lady working the front desk to the research facility had been typing away at something when Alex came in, and after a moment or two, reached a stopping point. Looking up at the trainer, she nodded and gave him a small smile. "If you find it in the ground, we can figure out what Pokemon it is. Let me have the fossil, please," she said, holding her hand out. When Alex placed the Odd Keystone in her hand, she looked at it for a second with a bit of confusion, before making her face go neutral again. "Thanks. If you want to wait that's fine, or you could come back tomorrow. I'll be back when the Pokemon is revived, or with an update," Poke ball in hand, she disappeared into a back room. As she made her way down the hall, she couldn't help but stare at the object. When she reached the researcher's lab in the back, one of the scientists eagerly took it from her. "But what is it?" she asked, confusion clear on her face. "It's an Odd Keystone. If we can extract the spirit within, it should reveal a Spiritomb, which is a very rare Pokemon. Hopefully, this trainer knows what they are getting themselves into, because this Pokemon is not always easy to control," he said, adjusting his glasses. The fossil was put on the pedestal in the machine and the scientist pressed the start button. All of the scientists watched with bated breath as the reanimation process began. After a minute or two, the Odd Keystone started to crack and the rock chipped away. After a few seconds of this, a purple mist leaked out and eventually recondensed into a Pokemon, with a wicked grin and green eyes. The scientist pushed a button on the computer and a poke ball was dropped into the containment area, absorbing the Spiritomb and officially catching the Pokemon. "Okay, it should be contained. Please warn the trainer," the scientist said, handing the poke ball over to the assistant. She quickly made her way back through the lab, before she found Alex sitting in the waiting room. "Alex, hi. Your Pokemon is ready. The scientist wanted me to tell you that you need to be careful with this Pokemon. It is very unpredictable and can sometimes be....rather mischievous and hard to deal with. Good luck to you!" she said, returning to her desk now that her job was done.

By now, Alex might be a regular in the research facility, since this place wasn't one with high traffic anyways. He met with the receptionist once again, and then noted down his name. He waited with anticipation on this Sail Fossil. What could this Pokemon be, and what could this Pokemon do? How could this Pokemon walk or cry? He didn't have much information to gather from. He also hadn't really step into Goldenrod City in a while, as if he's only coming back here for the Research Facility or the Flower Shop. He looked around as his mind wandered and got a little nervous from social interaction, but then he took a sip of cool water from the water machine to calm himself down.

Indeed, when Alex arrived, the scientist recognized him as the one who kept bringing in beautiful fossils (and a concerning odd keystone) for DNA extraction. "Let me see what you have brought today," she said crisply, as she was a busy woman with many busy scientist things to do, and if the fossil was in poor shape, she would not want to waste her time. But to her excitement, this was not only a well-preserved fossil, but a new one that she had not seen a trainer bring in before. Her eyes gleamed, "I must confess that I envy you ability to find such well-preserved specimens. I will attempt to extract DNA from this. Now shoo. As you well know, it will take time." And when he returned, the scientist looked quite proud of yourself, "The fossil you brought in was identified as a Sail Fossil and we were indeed able to revive a pokemon from it." She held out a pokeball. "This pokeball contains Amaura, an ice-rock type first discovered in Kalos."

Kevin had recently acquired a Skull Fossil on his journey and though he could not claim to be a fossil specialist he knew there was a facility in Goldenrod that could revive Pokemon from fossils so he decided to make a quick pitstop to the Goldenrod Research Facility to have his Skull Fossil restored into a living, breathing ancient Pokemon. As much as he was hoping to use what little spare cash he had on more Ultra Balls he knew such an investment would be worth it as there were a number of fossil Pokemon that could fit very well on his team once they were trained enough.
" Hello, I would like to revive this Skull Fossil please." He then handed the receptionist the money and waited to see if his investment would pay off.
OOC: Reviving the Skull Fossil in Kevin's Inventory for $2500.

The man at the front desk sent Kevin a dry look when he requested to get his fossil revived, he looked like he had some sort of retort but swallowed it as she sent the trainer a polite smile which didn't reach his eyes at all. "Well of course! Since we're not here for the research but just to service trainers who like to get a fun new pokemon to use, don't mind us at all!" He said sarcastically still with his professional smile plastered on his face. He put on some gloves pointedly and held out his hands to take the fossil for inspection, he turned it carefully and a glimmer of interest sparked in his eyes. "It's a fine specimen, hardly any damage but of course it needs to be cleaned thoroughly so we don't risk contamination of of the DNA," he commented a bit more genuine. Why could trainers never understand they had to protect the fossils and handle them as little as possible? The man found some papers for Kevin to fill out, the most important part of that was to note him as the owner of the fossil, making him accept that the Research Facility didn't cover anything should the revival go wrong, and of course making him pay for the service. "We'll give you a call when its done," The assistant said when the paperwork was filled and disappeared in the back with the fossil. Already next day Kevin got the call announcing that the revival had been successful and that he could come and pick up his cranidos. "A very fine specimen, it doesn't seem to have any damages from having been fossilized, as some do. It is prone to headbutt though, so watch out for that as they have a very hard head!"
