“Well its time to start looking for some new species of Pokemon. Although not my particular field of study, the professor will certainly be glad that I got some new dex entries in. It’s important to gather research of all kinds, since I’m still one of his field assistants.” Clamp smiled, tongue sticking out. The clam Pokemon didn’t really know what Ororo was talking about, but he still enjoyed the time out with her. “It’s not too often we get to be together on our own Clamp, let’s enjoy this! Remember, it’s all about having fun, the dex entries come second now.” Ororo was self-aware enough to realize although this was an excellent time to get some work done, she should still inform her Pokemon of their importance. Too many times would she go out on expeditions and not take time to smell the flowers.

Speaking of, the park was beautiful. Home to the ever-rare Sunkern, this area would be a beautiful site for any forest Pokemon to spend time in. Rarely did these types of Pokemon come so close to civilization, so being able to participate in such an honor would be a privilege. “Alright Clamp, let’s begin the hunt. Hopefully we can find some super cool, rare Pokemon!” Clamp jumped up and down, so excited to begin the adventure with his favorite.

As Ororo traveled along a melodic noise would draw hers and Clamp's attention. Was someone hiding nearby playing music? Their day of leisure ruined by the rampaging trainers trampling around for the best bug pokémon? No. Getting closer this was no melody played by a musical instrument. Its noise was too flat and... crickety. Sitting in the tall grasses nearby was the composer, of who stood to brush itself off and walk off. It didn't go to far though, as Ororo caught its eye.

Clamp needled Kricketune with its icicle spear enough to drive it away! The poor bug didn't even get a dirty look in.
Clamp grew to LV 24 and gained +1 Happiness (+3)

"Well, good job Clamp. That was easy. Kricketune is a rather common Pokemon in Johto so there's no real point in registering it in the Pokedex. Let's keep moving, eh?" Clamp concurred, ready to keep searching.

With all the activity down below it was hard to keep to the sheltered quiet spots that were usually abundant in the park. Driven out from its darkened hidey hole a Dustox fluttered low to the ground trying to find another place to rest for the day. Unfortunately for it, it's path led it right into Ororo.

"Well now. Quite the interesting find. Dustox is an exquisite Pokemon and knock for its crippling poison moves, so be careful Clamp." The Shellder was spooked at the sound of poison. YIKES! "Use your tackle attack, and we'll go from there."

Dustox wrapped Clamp in a wave of confusion! Luckily the clam was able to shake off the additional effects and launch herself forward for her own attack. The moth was unprepared for such a quick retaliation and allowed for a critical hit!

"Well, let's try for a supersonic now. I don't want this thing trying any funny business while we attempt to capture it." The Shellder nodded in agreement and got ready for an attack.

"Drats. This Dustox is a tough bandit." Ororo wasn't happy with the poisoning of her clam Pokemon. "I'll try throwing a sports ball and we'll go from there." She knew she had to go by some itenerary, but with a poisoned Pokemon, it would be tough to get anything done.

So close! The sport ball wriggled 3 times and just when it seemed it was complete Dustox escaped. It then proceeded to use Gust to add more damage onto the poisoned shellder.

“Uh-oh. This doesn’t look good. We’d better regroup and change our course of action. First things first, you need some healing.” The researcher sprayed her Pokemon with a super potion. “Now that you’re healed up, go for another tackle attack!”
