Aura lights the way[F]

With one big Flash Cannon attack, Marchbaby's Lucario sent the ghostly Pokemon flying into the wall of the cave and onto the ground, defeated by the humongous power of the fighting/steel-typed Pokemon, stopped in the tracks from its approach towards the cave's intruders. With a "Sabl... Sableye...!", the cave dwelling Pokemon found itself with no energy left to put up a fight, completely drained by just one simple hit.

[Marchbaby]

After dispatching another ghost type with almost no effort at all Vör knew she had to be getting close to being ready to face the next gym leader but Marchbaby did not want to take any chances until he was sure she would be ready. " Great job there Vör, I know these easy battles are getting repetitive but once you gain a few more levels it will all come to an end for the time being." Vör was admittedly getting a bit bored with her grinding but if things paid off as well as Marchbaby was hoping then the grind would be worth the growing levels of boredom that was starting to irritate her.

" I will keep trying my best, a shame these poor Pokemon stand no chance at all against me but things are moving pretty quickly. Hopefully this Lucky Egg keeps providing nice bonus experience at this rate so we can leave soon." As she stopped to feel around with her aura powers again Alpha started to scan around as well hoping to make the process as quick as possible as their scanning abilities combined were superhuman in nature. Within seconds Vör and Alpha both picked up on something else trying to hide in a corner as they both made their detected target known to Marchbaby so he could decide what to do again.

[color=lightblue[" Target detected, I believe Vör has detected something as well as I can sense her aura building up in the same direction as my scan. We should be able to spot the target by walking towards the far corner off to the right."[/color] Vör responded right after Alpha hoping to run into the next target as soon as possible. " I cannot quite tell which species it is but this cave keeps sending more things for us to encounter and for that I am quite thankful. Hopefully this next target will be another good one." As they made their way towards the next target Marchbaby kept a close eye on the ocrner in question as Shocker tried to get the area lit up as soon as possible.

Shocker managed to get close enough to the corner to start lighting up the area where Vör and Alpha had seen the target and saw a large hole in the wall big enough for a Pokemon to fit through but too small for him to crawl through. To try and overcome this he had an idea. " Shocker aim a Thunderbolt down this hole and see if we cannot get a Pokemon to run out." As he waited to see if Thunderbolt would draw anything out Vör stood by ready to attack so she could continue her training and hopefully be ready for the next gym leader soon.

After Marchbaby's Electric-type Pokemon sent a Thunderbolt flying down the hole, it would not be long until a Pokemon would be spooked out of its hiding place. The Pokemon that would then appear from out of the hole was a dual-typed Pokemon, a Steel-Fairy type. The first part of the Pokemon exiting the hole was a large jaw coming out from the top of the Pokemon's head. It popped out finally, and the rest of its pale-colored skin appeared. It was none other than a Mawile. It looked at the Pokemon that had disturbed its rest over there and let out a loud Mawile!

Seeing the Mawile appear from the hole in the wall Marchbaby felt kind of bad for disturbing the unique Pokemon as he owned a Mawile and knew how much they had to deal with as a number of other Pokemon in the dark cave would try and pick a fight with their kind. Even so he was not about to hold back as it did choose to come out instead of staying hidden and Vör needed every bit of experience she could get. Like before he was hoping that Vör would be able to knock it out quickly so it could get back to its own business after Vör gained any experience she could by winning.

" That poor Mawile cannot be too happy with us right now, I bet given how unique it is that it must get into a ton of battles trying to claim any part of the cave as its own." He could not help but look at the odd Pokemon's second large mouth wondering what Pokemon in the cave would be easily fooled enough to approach it without having seriously tough armor to protect themselves from its might jaw. Vör unlike most Pokemon did not have to worry about getting bit as her best attacks to bring it down were both usable at long range.

" My what big fangs our new challanger has, I am glad I am not one of the unlucky Pokemon who tries to fight Mawile up close, that jaw looks like it can really do some damage." As thankful as she was she had no problem battling Mawile at range for the experience and to maybe teach Mawile to stay hidden instead of picking a fight against a unknown Pokemon. All Vör needed to do was wait for Marchbaby to order her attack and she would give the odd looking Pokemon her full strength.

" Vör I think we have kept Mawile in suspense long enough. Like the other Pokemon you defeated I feel bad for it as you are far stronger than most Pokemon here but we cannot spare it without teaching it a valuable lesson. Show it your Aura Sphere." Vör built up her aura powers in her paw getting ready to fire. She could not shake the awful feeling of defeating another lower leveled Pokemon but had no doubt it must be done. " It is a shame this is the best way to train but I must keep going. Please forgive me Mawile." She then fired her attack hoping things would be over quick.

[Professor Oak]

Vör formed a brilliant blue ball of energy in her paws and fired it towards the Mawile. The strange creature opened up its gaping jaws as if horror and swallowed the energy sphere. It disappeared down its gut and for a moment the cave was dark again but this proved short-lived just like the Pokemon's fleeting presence, as a burst of light erupted from Mawile, illuminating the entire cave in blinding brightness. When the light waned, there was no trace left of the Mawile. A sudden cold draft swept through the cave along with a ghostly howl as though yet another spirit had been swallowed up by the maw, sucking it into the underworld.

As Vör defeated another Pokemon she could feel herself inch ever so slowly towards her goal. The Pokemon here were well and truly outclassed by here in every way and she continued to feel uneasy about training in the Dark Cave any further. Their recent good luck streak however convinced her to stay for at least one more battle but she hoped Marchbaby would consider leaving after the next battle. " I know things are going really well for us but after that last battle I really think we should try and train somewhere else. Is there somewhere in Goldenrod we can train after one more battle here?"

Marchbaby could tell by the sound of her voice that the easy battles were really starting to get to her and he knew with all their training she could now handle a tougher area. " There is the National Park that we could try our luck in after one more battle. I hear there is a bunch of Pokemon who live there that are different than the ones that appear during the bug catching contest." Just as soon as he mentioned it Vör jumped for joy as it sounded like the perfect place to train after having one more battle in the Dark Cave.

" Oh I can hardly wait to try our luck out there, this cave was great for a while but the Pokemon here do not pose a threat at all and I look forward to the change of scenery as well. Let's hope the final Pokemon here is a good one before we set off." As she turned to face Shocker she could sense another life form approaching and she grew excited realized that whatever it was she would be able to train elsewhere as soon as she finished this next battle. Alpha picked up on the target as well as they both turned to face the approaching figure.

" It seems you both have detected something else, Vör since we are not going to try and capture anything else here anyway let's make this last battle a quick one. Use Flash Cannon on whatever shows up next." Quite happy to obey a quickly ordered attack for once Vör waited for the right moment to strike the approaching target. She was going to give this final attack everything she has so they could move on to the National Park. " Alright, whatever you are I apologize for this but after this battle we will leave you all alone for a while." She then lifted up her paws ready to launch her attack as soon as her target came into view.

Vör gathered silver energy in her paws and aimed it at the approaching presence. As soon as it came into view, she fired the bright beam at the wild Pokemon, which struck it dead centre. The Pokemon it had hit was even shaped like a target and as the beam struck it resonated around the cave walls with loud clash almost like a gong. Some of the silvery light was reflected off the target and bounced back towards Vör, blinding her in a confusing ray of light.

Though Vör had gained a huge upper hand after the first round things had not gone quite as well as Marchbaby had hoped. Vör in her confused state could not safely try and use another attack but as Bronzor had a few status moves they were capable of learning Marchbaby was not willing to risk curing her confusion only for another status infliction to be placed on her. Before he decided to run away however he remembered how much damage Bronzor had suffered from Flash Cannon and he quickly changed his mind. His new plan was to capture the tricky Pokemon so Vör would still get the experience for her victory.

This was not something he would have normally considered as he was primarily focusing on rarer Pokemon first to complete his Pokedex but this was quite a worthy exception to that plan. Vör had no idea what was going on but Alpha clearly understood the plan as it watched Bronzor for more signs of trouble. " By the look in your eyes master it appears you have a good plan, Vör is not looking too well right now so an alternative to our current course may be a good thing. I see you already have a Great Ball in your hand"

In no time at all Alpha knew Marchbaby was going to try and capture the Bronzor without trying another attack and was willing to help in any way. As participating in any way would reduce the amount of experience Vör would receive Marchbaby had to keep the Metang back as Vör served as bait. If she could buy him just a few more seconds he could toss the Great Ball and hopefully end this battle before it became a nightmare. As Vör continued to stand in place not being capable of doing much else he finally saw the opening he needed.

" Go Great Ball capture that Bronzor." As he tossed the Great Ball Alpha watched alongside him just hoping luck would be on their side this time. " I sure do hope we can end this without any more issues. Vör is so cloae to completing her training and this battle was a bit more of a surprise than we anticipated but she has done well. We just need one good atroke of luck to see her efforts rewarded." After Alpha finished analyzing the situation as the ball continued to fly towards Bronzor luck was the only thing Marchbany could rely on now as he awaited the results.

As Vör fumbled around still blinded by the dazzling light that had been reflected back by the Bronzor, Marchbaby produced a Great Ball and tossed it at the weakened Bronzor. The shield-shaped Pokemon was sucked inside and the capture device clanked to the ground and began to wriggle around on the cave floor.

Shortly after capturing the Bronzor Marchbaby made his way out of the dark cave with Vör hoping to reach the National Park as quickly as he could. As he made his way to the local Pokemon Center he heard the Shopping Show on the radio and the very second he heard a Rare Candy was on offer he placed a call using the phone on the Pokemon Center's desk to order one for Vör. After staying the night a Pidgey greeted him as he walked outside with the package he ordered in its mouth and he was thrilled to receive the Rare Candy so quickly.

" Well it looks like we will not need to visit the National Park for now after all, with this Rare Candy Vör you should be ready to take on the next gym along with the two others I already have." As he unwrapped the candies and fed them to Vör she could feel her powers increase a little after eating each one. With her powers increased to near the level cap of the next gym she could hardly wait for the chance to show off her strength when Honeysuckle suddenly popped out of her Pokeball still holding her Black Belt. It was the perfect time for her to appear as Marchbaby needed to borrow the belt for his plan to work.

" Ah great timing Honeysuckle, for now we need to borrow your Black Belt so Vör will gain even more power in the next gym, once she is finished we will give it back to you." As the Heracross handed Vör her belt the boost in power she felt was quite a rush. Between this and the levels she had gained from her Rare Candies she had no doubt that she was ready for the challenge. " Oh I feel so strong right now, I sure hope this training pays off but I feel ready for whatever the next gym throws at me." Now that everything was settled and Vör was ready to head to the next gym they headed off towards Goldenrod City.

" Do we know what type the next gym leader specializes in?" Vör asked as they were leaving the city. After pausing a moment Marchbaby recalled hearing that they specialized in Normal types but he wanted to come prepared knowing all too well not to underestimate a gym based on types. " I have heard normal type but after Bugsy and his bug types I am not about to underestimate a gym based on their type alone."
